I’m writing this as someone who’s been to Coco Plum Island Resort 14 times, including four full island rentals, plus 10 trips back with just my wife and I. I don’t hesitate at all when I say this: The staff at Coco Plum is hands down the best staff I’ve ever experienced anywhere. And that’s saying something—I’ve traveled to over 30 countries and stayed at more hotels, islands and resorts than I can count.||Alex, the island manager, is incredible. He’s always on top of everything, insanely attentive, and makes sure you know what’s going on on the island, as well as on excursions to the reef or mainland! You feel taken care of from the second you arrive. Behind the bar, Jess and Ervin are amazing. Their cocktails are fantastic and creative, but what really stands out is how they learn your preferences. Before you even think about another drink, they’re already there with one. You can be relaxing in a hammock or at the pool and they will arrive with a fresh drink before your last is empty or warm!! That kind of extra effort and service is rare.||What really sets Coco Plum apart, though, is how quickly the staff feels like family. They’re not just friendly—they genuinely care. Everyone knows your name by Day 2. As they say on Coco Plum, "You're only a stranger when you first arrive"! Nothing can be more true!! The dining staff is always warm, attentive, and on point. The boat Captains Robert and Justin and deck crew, and Allen the Shoreline and Water Sports Manager are phenomenal. Whether you’re fishing, snorkeling, sailing, or diving, every detail is handled. These are just a few people who consistently went above and beyond and made every experience memorable.||And then there’s the food. Coco Plum's Chef Miss Jude and her team are something special. The food is authentic Belizean with presentation that is five-star. Her cooking classes are fun, engaging, and add such a great extra layer to the stay. Also, do yourself a favor and buy her cookbook—she even hand-wrote extra recipes for us based on meals she had cooked during our stay. That kind of personal touch says everything about who she is and why we love her so much!||The recent remodel of the kitchen, dining area, bar, and pool is stunning. We were fearful that the vibe would have changed with such a huge remodel. BUT NO!! They somehow managed to elevate everything to FIVE STAR LUXURY while keeping the exact same laid-back Coco Plum VIBE!! Even with a few finishing touches still in progress, we were blown away the moment we stepped onto the island. The attention to planning really shows, and it’s clear how much care went into it.||Coco Plum Island is, without question, my favorite tropical place in the world. My wife and I travel multiple times every year—historic cities, tropical islands, all over the world. Most places are a one-and-done for us and time for something new. But not Coco Plum! Coco Plum is different. It’s our must-return to destination every year. It’s become an annual tradition for us. And we have even organized 4 Full-Island Rentals over the years so that we could bring friends and family of all ages to witness our special place first hand!!||I know people reading this might think there’s no way it can be this special and amazing. I thought the same thing when I read the reviews before my first visit, 16 years ago. But like most guests, I arrived with really high expectations 16 years ago—and somehow Coco Plum still exceeds them every single time to this day. If you’re thinking about coming here, trust the reviews. This place really is that special.
