Our family stayed for 11 nights and would love to return. Like many of the reviews, this isn’t a modern hotel but has lovely charm and the rooms, while maybe a little outdated, are perfectly fine, beds are comfy and the shower/hot water were fine.||Our favourite thing about this place was the private bay with the most incredible amount of wildlife. We saw thousands (no exaggeration) of tropical fish along with rays, eels, stonefish, pufferfish and even 1 turtle. The birds, especially the pelicans, were also plentiful and lovely.||We did 3 great trips from the hotel, a rainforest/hummingbird/waterfall trip with Kelton who is the gentleman who brings his rescue birds to breakfast who was a great tour guide and 2 trips with Dexter from Island Man Tours Tobago. The first to help release turtles into the wild and the second to Buccoo Reef, Nylon Pool and No Man’s Land. We had to change the day of the second trip as members of our group were unwell but Dexter accommodated this and kept checking on them.||We struggled a little with food due to allergies but this is definitely not specific to this hotel. The staff tried to accommodate and were incredibly friendly, the chef even came to speak with us a few times, but there seems to be a general lack of allergen friendly products readily available. We definitely preferred the lunchtime food in the beach bar. With the dinner offering we felt they tried to be too fancy and would do better by concentrating on the simplicity of the ingredients speaking for themselves. Also, this would make it better for children as across our whole party the children struggled with the ‘fancy’ dishes. ||If you go during carnival time then be warned that the noise from parties in nearby bars is very loud. They also hosted a radio show over a few days which started at 5am. On the noise front, being near the airport was not an issue at all, we were not disturbed by the planes.| |Overall we loved our trip and plan to return.
