We had a great view of the beach from our porch! It’s very lovely! It’s about a 10 min drive by scooter to the city. There is a bar right next door that is very loud and did keep us up at night. We did have to ask a few times for the housekeepers to clean our room. There were some days we got hand towels and other days we didn’t. The service isn’t the best, but the location on the beach made up for that!

We didn’t stay at the hotel and only visited for the beach. Because it wasn’t that crowded, they offered free parking and no cost for the beds! Amazing move and worthy of respect! If you want to have something to eat, both food and drinks are great and my wife and I enjoyed a few intense on the menu. We went there 2 times and was great.

+ Beautiful natural place with a lot of trees and the sound of the waves Beside the beach Polite staff Some restaurants and a mini market close. - Google photos show a pool. There is no pool at this Coco... Breakfast ok but more like cheap hostel breakfast! Quite ordinary for a room of this price. Definitely need maintenance and love. Feels like the owners have abandoned the place and decided to put love and money in their new building. In the room - Broken toilet (we always had to remove the lid to be able to flush). - 2 broken lights in the room. - Broken patio door. Relaxing on our patio was a bit difficult as they were doing some construction on the next room. We also rum out of water for some hours and couldn't use our toilet or wash ourselves. We can understand both situations, but then the hotel should not rent a room next the one with construction or make a better price for the inconvenience. The manager did not even come to meet us, excuse and explain to us or make an arrangement... kind of lack of respect towards clients. Overall : not worth the price! Nice place, but really too expensive for what they offer. Find cheaper and you will be as happy. There is nothing that can justify to charge so much (I paid the price thinking there was a pool...).

Google
A more affordable place on the beach. Their beach area was the reason I chose this hotel. Their restaurant staff was very cordial and food was good. The rooms need lots of improvement. The bathroom was dark, and there were no outlets. The room itself also did not have many outlets and the roof was damaged as we got flooded after a storm. The front desk did not have iron/hair drier available and towels very limited.

We visited the Tulum hotel for 1 night. The woman who ‘greeted’ us at reception and who checked us out the following day, (she must work those shifts around midday) unfortunately she really lets the hotel down. Her whole moral was very low and she seemed really disinterested, fed up and unhelpful. We left feeling quite frustrated with her attitude which is a shame. The room was okay, the aircon wasn’t very effective. The location was beautiful however and some of the other staff were lovely (especially the gentleman who collected our case to and from our room)

Google
In summary, it was a fantastic hotel stay. The front desk staff and restaurant team were incredibly friendly, which added a warm touch to our visit. Especially the Argentinian guy which we forgot the name off! However, the breakfast staff could have been more friendly. The location of the hotel and the room were simply exceptional, deserving a perfect 11/10 rating. We were fortunate enough to enjoy a stunning sea-side room, which truly enhanced our Tulum experience. To top it off, we were even lucky to witness three nests of baby sea turtles hatching, making our stay truly memorable. Even when there was an electric failure they immediately settled it with a beautiful room in their partner hotel.

Google
The hotel has a great location. The beach is beautiful, and the rooms surrounded by luscious palm trees is great. The restaurant is overpriced and has little to choose from. Next to the hotel there's a beach club which blast their music from noon to 6 pm during the week and from noon 1 on the weekends!

We stayed at Coco from November 28 to 30, 2022 and stayed in a one bedroom suite with a partial ocean view. We had an amazing stay, the rooms are a good size and the bed was incredibly comfortable. So incredible to wake up to the sound of the waves and view of the ocean. Although it was a little inconvenient to not have our own washrooms, we were aware of this from the beginning so it wasn't too bad. Considering the location right at Tulum's beachfront, it's a pretty great value (especially with breakfast included.) We only managed to grab a couple of drinks at the beach club but they were really good strong margaritas. The dedicated parking lot is pretty convenient considering it can be a little hard to find parking in this area of Tulum. Overall we had a really great stay and I would definitely stay again.

Yelp
* this review is for the beach club only ORDERED - fettuccine alla carbonara - marghertita pizza - fettucine alla bolognese - gamberi pizza SEATING & AMBIANCE VERY cute decor. It was a slow day so we were quickly seated (on the floor) with a beautiful beach view. PARKING Extremely limited to no parking which is the case for many restaurants/hotels along this strip. Recommended to take a taxi to/from here. FOOD/DRINK We really just came for the drinks but ended up getting hungry so we ordered some things to nibble on. The food did it's job, but it wasn't anything special. If there was one thing to recommend, it would be the GAMBERI PIZZA. I personally loved the shrimp on there and it was the first thing to go out of the four. Check the drink specials they're having for the day. We ended up ordering a lot of maragritas because they were 2 for 1 and honestly they weren't bad. OVERALL Don't come with high expectations for food. Come for the drinks, music and vibes. If you want something less crowded and touristy (although it IS still along the tourist strip) highly recommend coming here.

Yelp
We just so happened to stumble upon this hotel looking for a low key beach club for the day! Coco didn't disappoint! Staff was out of the world providing great recommendations! When we went there was happy hour 2 for 1 on margaritas and mezcal - regular $20 each. Pretty good deal!!! We stayed for hours and enjoyed will definitely come back next time we visit!

Yelp
Overall we had a great stay at Coco Tulum and I would recommend it to budget travelers looking for a more rustic, authentic stay on the beach in Tulum. We stayed in a garden view room (with two beds) and a jungle villa (two rooms) with PRIVATE BATHROOMS. Pros: - You're right on the beach and a walk from many delicious restaurants - Helpful, friendly staff (all of whom speak English if needed) there to help with whatever you need, including setting up car services or recommendations. Gracias Mattias por todos! - The on-site restaurants are delicious, breakfast is included in a certain fare, and there is fresh filtered water set next to your bed every evening - Rooms are spacious - Wake up to beautiful birds every morning - Price point for location and accessibility to wherever you want to be (bars, restaurants, clubs, town, cenotes) - Security patrolling the premises every night - Quiet, peaceful Cons: - You're staying in a straw roof hut on the beach, so expect what comes with that - Minimal lighting when sun goes down - Bugs--worst we saw was a lot of ants and they get on your clothes if you leave them out, so wash everything when you get home - Low water pressure - No pool - Yoga not included - Not great AC, gets stuffy. I brought a portable fan (hey, at least there is AC!) - The beach had a LOT of seaweed, despite it being 'the off season' - Very stringent about 'hours' of the restaurant at the beach. Can't even ask for water if they're 'closed' - Can't bring food from restaurant next door (which is affiliated with Coco Tulum for free breakfast) to eat on the beach. Very strange - Some of the photos on Google are for Coco Unlimited, a different much nicer hotel down the street, so do your research - Neighboring hotels get noisy during the weekends some nights - Beds are stiff You get what you pay for--come prepared, spend a lot of time outside, know what you're getting, and you will love your stay!

Yelp
stayed here with friends in multiple rooms, each of us had people break into our rooms and steal things each night we would step out. we bought the most premium room offerings in their towers. seemed like an inside job since they knew when we would leave. we felt so unsafe, they did nothing to fix this problem. just told us we should have travel insurance. family heirlooms, jewelry, speakers, gucci bags all stolen. they have no cameras, and pretty sure security was in on it. DONT STAY HERE! slept with a glass cup in front of our doors at night to hear if anyone tried to break in. terrifying.

Yelp
This place is the perfect spot on the beach! The staff here is incredible! Special shout out to Matias who gets to know each and every guest. He makes you feel like you are in his home and he cares how your day is going! He is super warm and friendly and checks in with guests a few times a day. Also Rodrigo at the front desk. I can jot say enough about the way he handled a situation that I had. He was professional and courteous and I will definitely recommend this hotel to all my friends visiting Tulum! The place is clean & beds are comfortable! Definitely try this spot for a visit! You won't want to leave. Also, the 2 affiliated restaurants are really good! The security is also excellent. They are watching the premises to make sure that only guests come in from the beach and the street. They have bike rentals for $15 day and it worked out well for M

Yelp
Stayed here at CoCo on the beach side in a jungle room for one night before our trip to Akumal. Staff was super friendly! Upon arrival (around 7pm) Jorge greeted us and got us all set up in our villa, walked us to our room while showing us the grounds.. which by the way is beautiful and well kept! Lush greenery and trees all over, even saw a little kitty roaming around. The jungle room had a beach view straight to the water, we could see the waves from our bed. Room was number 10! The hut was very rustic, the shower and sink water was filtered ocean water but I still felt plenty clean! There was a mosquito net around the bed and cozy linen, towels and two bottles of water for us in the room. The ac unit worked well but if you open the door, our particular room gave us a massive ocean wind which was humid so we had to keep the door shut as much as possible. No leaks, no bugs.. maybe a few mosquitos that stayed near the sliding door. Only complaints were that the main light in the room didn't work, tried switching bulbs and still no luck but we only were in the room to sleep so didn't need light. Second, the window to the left of the slider was a little busted and I had to push the window in really hard to secure the lock. The door itself is old but locked and secured just fine. Safe in room was provided but we didn't need to use it. I would stay here again but for those who rely on reviews I hope this is a good one for you. Do your research and if this rustic slice of paradise is not for you; don't complain about no tv or cold ac. Side note: Elizabeth was so freakin nice and hospitable! She checked in with us at breakfast (complimentary at Juanitas on site) and helped us with tips for adventuring and also a taxi to get to Akumal. Thank you Coco for the beautiful stay, even if it was short!

Yelp
I came here only for beach access. I didn't stay in the hotel itself. We came to tulum for a bachelorette party and were looking for a beach club. We stopped by Coco the day of and they were able to accommodate our group of 7 easily on a Friday. They told us I think atleast $50/person minimum spend but it could've been a bit more (maybe $55-60), I don't remember. Based on what I'm reading from other reviewers it seems like some people were told $25-$32 minimum spend? In which case we may have gotten ripped off? Either way, we enjoyed our time at Coco. The beach was nice and pretty clean. Coco was much smaller than I expected but I liked the vibe and decor. There weren't too many seating options and staff told us we had to pick a place to sit and stay there (I imagine to make it easier for them to keep track of which group was ordering what). We ordered several drinks and plenty of food. We all enjoyed the cocktails here - they were all fruity and refreshing on a hot day. The food was also quite good and a very filling portion size. Everything was a bit pricey. Staff was friendly. Of note, they don't provide anything extra such as towels, etc. you need to bring your own. The main reason I was disappointed in Coco is because they weren't transparent about tipping. When the check came in the end, they had already included an automatic 15% tip in it (calling it "Servicio Sugerido") but then asked us on the spot if we wanted to add tip, without explicitly telling us that tip was already included. Most of us didn't speak Spanish plus they didn't give us a chance to look over the receipt carefully. Assuming tip wasn't included we gave an additional 15-20%...I just felt like we were taken advantage of as a group of young women who were tourists. Other than that we had a pleasant experience and spent about half a day relaxing, eating, and drinking here.

Yelp
Adorable oceanfront hotel. What really stood out and made our stay more pleasant was how helpful their front desk staff is. Itsia does the work of 3 people. She resolved the many requests we had very pleasantly. Also, Matias was super helpful when we needed to make alternate arrangement with our scooter rental. In the restaurant, the breakfast options were great and service was excellent there as well. We truly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back. My friends had made this reservation and I joined at the last minute. I am so happy they picked this hotel! The beach club at the unlimited location was great too, we took use of the chaises by the beach and enjoyed really good service there

Yelp
The place is a dream, we were in the best room they had as far as I'm concerned; steps away from the ocean with a clear view of the moons reflection off every crashing wave. The bar was feet away as well so how could I complain?? The room could get humid and the music outside could be annoying I suppose but they stop it and start it at a fairly reasonable hour. Just to get an idea, there was a model in a photoshoot one morning right outside, and they always made sure we were stocked with fresh bottles of water. More to be happy with in my book. The included breakfast was good but I think could have been better and more inclusive after what we paid for the room but all in all it was an amazing stay. There weren't any mosquitoes accept for one that bit us both one night... but if you looked close enough there were a lot of microscopic ants or something on our floor and bed stand.... we had two instances of little crabs in the room but none of that really bothered me as it was pretty much paradise. Be careful of the bar tab and either pay completely in cash or charge everything to the room, don't teeter on those options because they may accidentally or even purposefully charge you upon checkout, who knows but why take the chance. Be sure to use the Do not disturb sign if you wish to be left alone because the staff is eager to clean and get in your room - we were butt naked and the maid came around to look through the back window after we weren't able to get to the door... we were uhhhh.... playing hide the sombrero-

Yelp
Wow! The view, the aesthetics, the FOOD and service were amazing here! We only needed to spend $25 each to enjoy an ocean view with complimentary lounge chairs! The staff were all so friendly and helpful.

Yelp
We stayed 2 nights. It wasn't long enough. The concierge was helpful and extremely discriptive on the aminities. Complementary breakfast. Clean rooms. Private beaches. Yoga, sparring, and a great restaurant on property. Very simple, and charming with mucho attention to detail. Thank you COCO Tulum Hotel XOXO
google avatar

Yelp
It is a fabulous location, basic accommodations. Complimentary breakfast is very limited and you list contend with lots of bees which are basically ignored by staff.

Yelp
I wish I took more photos, but I was too busy having the best day(s) ever. This is where I plan to stay for the foreseeable future. I LOVED this spot. Romantic, spacious rooms. Groomed beach. Excellent food and cocktails, with brekkie included until noon (they know what I was getting into the night before). With only 26 rooms, the staff is attentive and remember you by name. Not the same way as the Ritz that we all try to avoid-- no, 'hello, Mrs. Plimack.' Just friendly chit-chat. The price-point is nearly confusing for what they offer. And of course, the location. Smack-dab in the middle of it all. It doesn't get better.

Jimmy J.

Yelp
The pounding music on the beach is insane. Don't come here to relax. The place would be lovely without it.

Yelp
I had the pleasure of staying at coco beach zone, and my beautiful friends stayed in the zen zone! Literally a tiny walk from my beautiful bungalow directly in front of the ocean, over to their exclusive beachfront bungalow. They offer 10 am yoga each morning, we all partied to hard to ever take advantage of this offer! But it looks incredible, the class is lead on the beachfront area, so you relax into yoga as you watch the waves crash in! Perks to being a guest, first thing first, free 5 star breakfast for (two to a room) every morning.. We all stayed one to a room, but what a great deal. Please still tip that amazing witnesses! We did!! In my group their were 4 of us, we all stayed in our own quarters! Simply the best decision ever! They rooms are gorgeous, you have earth elements, in your room, you literally go to sleep each night listening to ocean waves crashing! It's therapeutic. They have a spa on site, to receive endless massages, cray baths, and facial treatments. I stayed 8 full days, each day returned to a room that was serviced, with free fresh bottle service, each day! We all felt like royalty staying here! And I would hands down stay here again! You get a huge room, opt for your own bathroom! I did, and it was incredible.. huge king bed, beautiful linens used to dress the bed and curtains around the bed! I will dream about this place, purely magical! Thank you coco for hosting my beautiful group for the entire stay of a Tulum! Look no further, coco is where it's at!

Yelp
beach club review my husband and i came here around 12pm on a saturday and luckily found some lounge chairs for us! take note that it's a $55 minimum per person if you're not a hotel guest we ordered some drinks and guacamole and had a great time! definitely recommend this place to others. it's also right next to a beach massage place which was magnificent

Yelp
When people say this is the best ceviche and fish tacos in Tulum they're not kidding. All the food was delicious albeit service was a little slow (for our large group of 13). Also great cocktails!! Decor is beautiful! Perfect spot to spend the day!

Yelp
We stayed at Coco Limited. Honestly I was a bit skeptical before going to Tulum. The reviews were all over the place about this one. BUT we were pleasantly surprised! Our room was on the beach...like literally on it. They cleaned our room everyday and made sure we had enough towels at all times. The staff was always helpful: recommended places to go, called us taxis, made sure we were on time for our tour, and checked up here and there to see if we were enjoying our stay. Hotel guest get complimentary breakfast (limited menu but does the job) and can take advantage of some drink specials at night. I don't recommend getting any of the cocktails though, seemed a little watered down for my liking. The food was good and standard "tourist/beach" prices. Overall I had a great experience here! And you Can't beat the location.
google avatar

Sebastian G.

Yelp
Great ambiance and friendly staff! Jasmin and the front desk team were exceptional at making sure our stay was to its fullest and best. Even Felipe the front security guard was kind and inviting. I can honestly stay the staff was one of the best elements to CoCo Tulum limited.

Yelp
We stayed at Coco limited hotel on our vacation to Tulum and I was more than pleased. I was hesitant because there wasnt that many reviews but I was pleasantly surprised. As soon as we stepped foot on the property they were extremely accommodating. Check in was a breeze they had many sanitation stations and all staff was wearing a mask. The guy at the front desk walked us around and showed us our room. The hotel is small with not many rooms but the rooms are spacious and the view is out of this world. You couldn't get any closer to the beach. There is free good quality breakfast daily, the drinks are good, the hotel offered things like free drink for ladies and a mezcal tasting. I was happy from beginning to end. Anything we needed we would message the front desk through whatsapp and they would reply immediately. Definitely an amazing experience and I cant wait to come back!
google avatar

Hanh N.

Yelp
Coco Limited treated us like family, or better yet, royalties! Anything that we needed or wanted, they provided. They have a wonderful spa and massage. We returned repeatedly and always late but they were extremely patient (so sorry). They arrived quickly when we wanted our rooms to be cleaned with new towels and refills. They have AC that works! Although their water was a little mineral saltiness, it did wonders for my complexion, especially after being out in the sun. Their private beach was super clean. The hotel was at the center of everything which was a plus that we could walk to all of our destinations in heels. We noticed the car's windshield was dirty so we asked for some damp towels, but the guy ended up cleaning the whole car (so sweet). I will be returning : ).

Yelp
Currently staying here for 5 days and immediately it was off to a bad start. The rooms are small for what you're paying, and the walls are paper thin between some of the rooms. We booked a ocean front view, and it was next to another room that was apparently having a bachelorette party. They put us here well knowing there was a party, and there were constantly people going in and out of this room. The walls basically have no noise proofing so we could hear their loud music and talking, so much that we complained and got a temporary room to stay sleep in for the night. We booked massages for the next morning and the desk guy helpfully set it up for us on our ocean front patio for the morning. The room next to us, go figure, was loud and had at least 5 guests on their patio for half of my massage. It got so loud that I asked my massage therapist to stop in the middle because I couldn't relax with all of the loud talking next door. Needless to say it was one of the least relaxing massages I've had (not because of the massage therapist). After this horrible experience, we went to the front desk person and asked to permanently stay in the quieter room further from the beach. He said that this room is cheaper but he can't give us a refund for the difference. At this point I didn't care, I needed to get a room with peace to enjoy the vacation we paid for. Despite all of the issues that stemmed from your hotel's subpar noise control/thin walls, and other loud guests, the least they could've done is given us back the difference for the rooms, or some kind of credit to spend at the restaurant but I guess their business values keeping the money over guest's experiences. It's not the front desk guys fault. Just overall a very bad experience and not much accountability taken. Needless to stay I will NOT be coming back here and I advise you think twice about staying at Coco if you want to relax.

Yelp
Staff was super friendly. Right on the beach. Food was okay but great location and walking distance to amazing food and experiences. I would book again

Yelp
Everything is a bit pricy but I really enjoyed hanging out at the beach for a few hours. You have to spend a minimum of $32 or so. Beach chairs were a bit uncomfortable though. Food was really good! So are the smoothies

Yelp
Loved my stay at Coco Tulum was greeted by Mattis and Javier with smiles after a nightmare of a day who went above and beyond to make sure that my stay would be carefree and relaxing. Stayed in an ocean facing king room with an incredible view of the beautiful ocean fell asleep to the sound of crashing waves, I will definitely be back!

Yelp
Such a horrible experience this hotel is set on a beautiful ocean and we picked this place because the advertise that they have air, a/c 24/7. In tulum the whole town runs on generators. We had 30 people at this hotel and the air went out every day for a few hours. We have our 90year old grandparents here for a wedding and they were not accommodating. Then the power went off at night and we had no air or lights. The staff is rude and not helpful

Yelp
Nice rooms with everything you need to make the most of your trip. The rooms are very clean and they have A/C. They are very comfortable. Pro Tip: ask for a beach front room on the second floor above the restaurant. These are the closest to the beach and have all the amenities you might need. Even a hammock and chairs in the balcony. Staff is very nice and friendly. Oh and the breakfast included is amazing, they actually serve 2 breakfast for the price of one. First they let you pick between pan cakes and bow of fruit and after that you can pick another dish, trust me you won't be dissapointed. The location is good as it is in the middle of the action, It's near Playa papaya and Ahau so you won't have difficulty moving around during the day. I would recommend Coco Limited to anyone that wants to relax in Tulum.

Yelp
MY FAVORITE PART OF MY TRIP. The service, food, AND THE BEACH was just so perfect for a relaxing Monday. On weekdays they charge 25 per person if you want to lay down on the beach chairs. As long as you spend 25 dollars from the menu, you should be good. The beach was beautiful. I had the best taco from the trip here. The Elote corn with the sauce were TO DIE FOR. The chicken kabobs was delicious and fresh. The drink were good too but not as great as the food. The view and food are worth the stop during the trip to Tulum
google avatar

Yelp
I went on a solo vacation to tulum wow walking on the beach I found the Coco tulum and decided to stop for a drink. The bartender was kind and went out of his way to help me find a drink I wantedbecause the original drink I wanted wasn't on the menu. I got a piña colada which was amazing. The view from the swings is breathtaking. I can't wait to return to this place I call paradise.
google avatar

Carol S.

Yelp
BEWARE!! Disgusting! Not like what is in the pictures. This is like a campsite! Does not even deserve 1 star. Total rip-off.
google avatar

Andrea G.

Yelp
The look and vibe of Coco is great. We came to the beach club to have drinks and tan. They have some beach chairs in the shade and some out in the sun which is great. They also have swings by the bar that make for a great photo. For food we had the tuna tostadas and fish ceviche. The food here is great and fresh for a decent price on the beach. For drinks we had the pina colada and chili margarita. Drinks are a bit more pricey than some other beach clubs starting at $210 pesos. The colada was good but very weak, margarita was also good and a bit stronger. Waiters stood there waiting for us to pay the bill which was odd. Overall I had a decent time but I do prefer Ziggy's over this place. P.S If you plan on taking a swim, the water on the beach isn't as clear as it is further down the road
google avatar

Yelp
Went to the beach club today - great location, friendly staff, lovely food at a good price. Free parking and $25 worth of spending gets you a spot on a beach chair. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I booked 3 rooms at coco tulum with the upgrade for partial ocean view for the total of $2418.08, the payment split into 2. The 1st one was a week before arrival ($1274.24), and the 2nd payment is paid upon arrival ($1277.53). They overcharged me $133.69. Moreover, they gave us 1 room with garden view (#20) instead of ocean view, the room #15 has broken lock that couldn't be locked properly and needed to be fixed twice and someone came into the room and stole my $400 dollars. I reported to the receptionist and security, but the receptionist argued that the lock is not broken (someone came to fix it, if it is not broken why did you send someone to fix) and that I should put my value stuffs in the lock box and locked it up and that I signed the waiver that I am responsible for my stuffs. I told him that everything in the room is valuable and my safety is the most valuable situation and yes I am responsible for my stuffs if the hotel provided me the proper lock not the broken one. But he keeps arguing so I didn't see any point talking to him so I just left. Later on, Elizabeth came to my room and I explained to her the whole situation, she understood and brought us drinks and waved the charge for bike rental of $105 but she said that's all she could do. Later on that night, the lock is broken again so I ran to the front to report to Elizabeth, she came to try to lock but it couldn't lock at all, then the maintenance guy came and fix it again. The whole hotel didn't have surveillance camera except the receptionist area ( according to receptionist and Elizabeth), the hallway or any entrance don't have any camera at all so if something happens, no one would knows. This hotel is shared bathroom and this is very unsafe to the guests in my opinion. I feel very dangerous to stay in the room by myself with the broken locks, I couldn't sleep at all for 2 nights. I couldn't go anywhere since my money was stolen ( no taxi money), I brought the credit card with me but not all the places take credit card. Not recommend this place at all security wise and responsibility

Yelp
Came across this hotel while walking on the beach and decided to sit for a drink. Very beautiful hotel, great for photos. The service was mediocre and the drinks were ok. I would recommend taking a photo and heading somewhere else!
google avatar

Yelp
Very expensive digs but a beautiful view. You can stop by to purchase a coconut and drink and go swimming right in front of the bar and lounge area! Well worth it, and it makes for a great photo for the gram. I wouldn't go out of my way to visit here, but if you're nearby it's worth a stop!

Yelp
Okay so the aesthetic is on point with the white sand beaches and swings but the food and drinks are just okay. I had the shrimp tacos and a glass of rosé. My fiancé vouches for the mojitos though and said those are worth the price. They have a $50 minimum to sit on the beach (even with your own towel) but if you meet that in food and drinks cost then you are free to use the chairs for as long as you'd like. The service is good with very nice waiters ready to answer any questions you have. I would not go back due to the price but it was a nice way to spend an afternoon.

Yelp
Coco Tulum, I wish I could go back today! Overall experience was great! Ambiance 5/5 What I absolutely loved about this hotel was that it was simple and truly made you feel that it had its own identity. It embodies the perfect beach atmosphere with it's simplicity and relaxing feel. Beach Bar 4.5/5 Beautiful, photos do not do this amazing place justice! The only negative was it seems a lot of people not staying here seem to hang out because of the great atmosphere which sometimes would make it hard to find a seat. Food 5/5 AMAZING! Food at the beach bar was excellent. We ordered the Ceviche and the Tuna Tostada with Chicharron and both were delicious. Both tasted so fresh and had a lot flavor. We also ate at Juanita Diavola which is right next to the hotel. Both the salami and arugula pizza and the house bruschetta were amazing. There was live music the night we were there (Thursday May 11th) and the girl singing was amazing. I really wish I would have gotten her name. Hotel 4/5 Although the overall feeling of the property is amazing there are a few areas with room for improvement. We stayed in one of the cabanas right on the beach (38). I loved having our personal hammock and swings with an oceanview. The AC was automatically set to go on from 7pm-9am, the hotel is eco friendly so they are trying to conserve on energy. Most days this didn't bother us since we were out at the beach. However there was a day where we needed to get out of the sun and it would have been nice to have the option to turn the AC on. The wifi was nice when it worked but seemed to be 50/50 on the quality of the connection. Overall the room had everything we needed a king size bed, a safe, and an oceanview. Staff 4.5/5 Staff was super friendly and helpful. Majority of the staff also spoke English which was convenient. Overall excellent stay. Tulum is an adorable quaint town and Coco Tulum fits perfectly into that atmosphere.

Yelp
This is a review on the coco beach club, not the hotel. I arrived nice and early and we were greeted by our friendly server, Daniel. He asked my gf to pose with a drink for their Instagram page, so luckily we were given this drink for free- which I happily drank. Tequila, grapefruit, Campari and lime- quality! We then sat out on the comfy beds, relaxed and had a few drinks. I recommend you getting there fairly early as it does fill up quite quickly. The beach club is nicely decorated and a great Miami-like vibe. The drinks aren't overly expensive but there is a minimum of $25 per person at the beach club. You can smash this total in about 5 drinks They do not provide towels if you're not staying at the hotel, which wasnt great as we didn't bring ours but oh well, COVID strikes again. I rode back 1/2 a mile to grab our towels while the missus chilled on the beach sipping on her cocktail- shock! Great spot to hang for the day. Lots of good drinks to choose from. Awesome area to people watch and I found the service to be very good. Would come back and recommend!

Yelp
Meh. Not impressed at all. After splurging on a great hotel the week before, we decided to go a bit more economical and stay here for week 2. Bad idea and should have just paid a tiny bit more. Pros: the pictures on the website. Mario the sweet waiter at the beach club. Cons: weird small bugs in beds (vile); front desk staff not super pleasant/couldn't care less; beach chairs/scene kind of rundown; drinks are WATERED down (but the one day we actually stopped for a drink I was able to stay hydrated ;-)); ac is only on after 7pm; ran out of power mid day; Oh yes, and the WiFi does not work at all (but on the bright side I spent time disconnected). Bikes for rent are beat down. Cheaper and better quality almost every other place we saw. For the most part we stayed out of the hotel and just enjoyed everything Tulum and the area had to offer (including hanging out at better hotels). If you can afford to go one step higher do it. There are so many better options... Lesson learned.

Yelp
The location and view is amazing, you're right on the water. Also, the free breakfast and coffee is nice. I feel you pay a lot to stay somewhere that doesn't offer much. There is no amenities, the air Barely worked in our room, it rained the whole week we were here and our bags got wet from all the water on the floor from the rain. I just payed a lot of money to go glamping pretty much. Wouldn't bother asking staff if you have any concerns because they will just argue with you about how they are right and you are wrong. Super disappointed with this place. I payed more here than I do in San Diego for a lot of things. I've never felt so excited to go home after a vacation.

Yelp
We booked this hotel because it was next door to the house the rest of our family rented. Wow, what a great hotel, stylish, well run and fun. The 7 nights were just perfect. We stayed in the Tower, loved our deck, view and room. The restaurant was also very good. We had two large family dinners there. The pizzas, pastas and drinks were so good. We especially liked the night with the Cuban band. The atmosphere, pizza oven, service all excellent. We have been all over Mexico, but never stayed in this area till this year. Can't wait to go back, the beach is the most beautiful beach I have ever stayed at. Highly recommend this spot.

Yelp
After I paid for lunch at the beach club today my waiter asked me for a tip in cash. I showed him the bill which already included the "taxa de servicio sugerido" and he replied "that's the tax". I then told him that I'm Brazilian and that I know exactly what "taxa de servicio" is. And even if I didn't, the word "sugerido" would have given him away, taxes are not suggested, they're obligatory. I can't even imagine how many American tourists are robbed here everyday and are completely oblivious to it. I will not be coming back.

Yelp
While at dinner, two purses were stolen containing the room keys and a passport. The hotel keys were physical keys and said the hotel name along with room number. I WhatsApp'd Coco Tulum ASAP and the manager was AMAZING. He immediately said he felt terrible and asked if we were all okay. He said they could rekey the locks in the morning, but for the night he had an extra security guard come in and stay outside of our rooms. At first I didn't believe a hotel would be so nice and accommodating. We were terrified to go to sleep and one of the girls from our group stepped outside a few hours later to make a phone call. Sure enough there was a security guard hanging out by our rooms to keep us safe. The following morning, the manager researched everything we needed to get our friend home with the stolen passport. He set us up to get police reports and called people to figure out the best place to go. Even printed the copy of her passport to help with everything. Thank you for being so amazing and it was such a beautiful hotel experience. We felt super lucky to be at this hotel during a scary time.

Yelp
Absolutely I love this place! They have the best service at the front desks and amazing lunch food with great working space on the swings. The vibe is very natural and if you do a shared bathroom they are so clean and nice! No Biggy at all. This is my most favorite place, so authentic and relaxing. No heels needed here and I can't say enough about the location being smack in the middle. 2nd time coming back to coco beach Tulum and 3rd time In Tulum in 5 months!

Yelp
I want to go back already. Super mellow and relaxing our room was steps from the beach, love the private deck and hammock at our garden view cabana. Staff was super helpful and kind. Front desk and helped with planing activities and recommended cenotes. The pizza is super yummy and dinner is accompanied with live music. The beach club is super cool we missed the Sunday beach party, another reason to go back. Hotel has 24hr security.

Yelp
This review is for the beach club. It's set up nicely. There's a $50 minimum spend (we came on a Sunday). The music is nice and chill. The drinks though were all terrible. They tasted like water. Not a single drink that we ordered from their signature cocktails had good flavor. The food was mediocre with almost no flavor. And bring your own towel because unless you're a hotel guest they won't give to one.

Yelp
If I could rate this a "0" I would! My wife and I took our family here from December 26-31 of this past year, and our experience was anything but enjoyable. We had a total of 3 rooms in our party in what we found out to be a newer building. After checking in our nephew came to us crying saying that he has bedbugs in his bed. Since this hotel is basically on the beach we thought it must be sand and just brushed it off. Over the next couple of days this dark sandy substance increased on the heads of all of the beds to the point in which we complained to the front desk demanding answers. Upon further examination it was evident that what was on all of our beds was termite eggs and debris from the termites eating away at the giant untreated driftwood sculptures that were haphazardly placed above the head of each bed! We demanded that these be taken out of the rooms and cleaned as this is unsanitary and flat out disgusting! The manager on duty even admitted that they rushed finishing this building and put in these untreated driftwood pieces in each room--she was just as grossed out by this(Maria). The wood was merely impossible to remove and took 3 men over 2 hours to remove just one of them. By this point it was well after midnight and the rest of the hotel guests were coming up to our room to complain about the noise- they all were upset and looking for someone at the front desk to deal with, but it seemed as though they were hiding from them as well. They were able to remove the wood from the one room while the other two rooms would have to wait until the next day, and would have to either move the mattresses to the floor or sleep at the other end of the bed. We flipped around to sleep to find our feet covered in termite eggs as well as termite larva which were crawling around at the base of the bed!! The following morning the remaining rooms in the building had the wood removed- so we had one night at this hotel without having to sleep with bugs falling on us!! In addition to these issues our entire family left Mexico to become incredibly ill- 5 out of 7 in our family ate breakfast at the hotels restaurant and 5 of us were sick to our stomachs for at least 2 weeks after getting home!! This hotel claims that they have bikes available to rent, however, during our stay there were never enough bikes for the guests because the hotel will rent them out to people not staying at the hotel-- this is also an issue with the hotels beach and bar- anyone can come in and take over the chairs leaving not enough chairs for guests, which seems like poor customer service if you ask me! When you're booking a hotel on the beach you expect that you will have first come first serve at that hotels beach!! We waited before checking out to speak with "the man" as they said... he (We learned later that his name is Edgar) was supposed to be down at 10am- we sat and waited and waited and it wasn't until after 11 that he finally came to advise us that he's not really the one with the authority to reimburse us or address our issues but offered us 1000$ cash back off of our stay (this may seem sufficient but for 3 rooms to have to deal with these bugs for 4 out of 5 nights, it most certainly is not!) it is also worth noting that our family had a hell of a time getting cash on the island and asked the front desk on multiple occasions to help since all ATM machines were out-- apparently they actually had cash but couldn't assist us when we needed help most. Edgar also advised us to reach out to Marcella in reservations who is able to contact the owners of the property to properly handle our situation... which meant this wouldn't be resolved while we remained in Mexico. After returning home, between our travel agent and us we went back and forth emailing with Marcela who initially offered to give us all another stay, which we declined, stating that we just wanted our money back... she came back agreeing to the refund and asked for our PayPal info... a week went by and nothing showed up in our account. We wrote back asking what was happening, Marcella said it has to come from a different account and she was waiting. Another week, nothing. She wrote back to our query advises that they never agreed to the refund! Odd since we have an email from her saying otherwise. At this point we are all around disappointed by their lack of customer service as well as disgusted by what our family had to deal with while staying at Coco!! They continue to pass us off between Marcela and Edgar without any resolution in sight!!!

Yelp
I just came back from the beach club. We went twice. There are pros and cons. Pros: Location - close to town and walking distance to other hotels and bars View Shade - place to sit in shade and semi shade Price - $25 per person spend to get a bed or chair for the day. I don't think they care if you are close. Clean bathrooms Very Instagramable Cons: Very busy Ok, I wasn't feeling well so I wanted to sit in a chair in the shade. My wife in a single person sun bed. We gradually ordered things through the day. They asked if I could move because some women wanted my chair. I said no, I'm using it, although you can use the table. A manager came to bother me and request I sit next to my wife. I have a fever and barely got any sleep last night because my nose was blocked. No, I don't want to sit in the sun. Higher level manager came with the security guard and told me I needed to move or she needed to move, because we can't be in two places. Utter nonsense. I asked for the written policy to no avail. I asked my wife to join me on the chair / bench. Nobody was rude or raised voices, which was good. Ordered fish tacos after the move... I had one and my wife had two. I felt super sick and she was vomiting. Neither of us had any alcohol. I don't know if they did that on purpose, or if it was 100% them, but if they did..... wow, the manager needs to jump off a bridge.
