I stayed at this hotel and had mixed feelings.
Cleanliness: The room was clean and tidy, and the public areas were also well maintained.
Service and staff: The shuttle drivers and kitchen staff provided very good service, but the manager at the reception was always unfriendly, with a sour face, making us feel unwelcome. When I approached her about an issue with the room, she brushed me off and told me to talk to the travel agent instead of trying to help.
Room comfort: Very disappointing. The room itself was not comfortable, and getting to the dining area or the beach required taking a shuttle in the back of a pickup truck with hard wooden benches, which was both painful and unreliable. The shuttle was not always on time, and overall it was not a pleasant experience. Also, we were placed in the “Sky Moon” extension, not the well-known Cocohut resort, which felt misleading.
Facilities: The pools looked nice, both at the lower part of the resort and the one at Sky Moon. Room service was also good.
Location: Very poor. The hotel is in Haad Rin, Koh Phangan. This area is no longer what it used to be. Other than the Full Moon Party once a month, the place was deserted, and we had to take shuttles every day to the more active and touristic areas of the island, which cost us a lot of extra money. I would not recommend this location at all.
Value for money: For me, not good at all. It was expensive, we didn’t get a room in the original Cocohut as expected, breakfast was average with long lines for omelets and coffee, and the coffee machines were very slow with poor quality coffee.
