Best ramen I've ever had. We were here in 2022 for the first time and I finally came back 3 years later. The taste was exactly as good as I remembered. Also very nice and kind service!

We got here before 6pm and there was a queue outside so we were curious ourselves! My friend and I sat outside while the weather was on and off rain, but the atmosphere was perfect as we had cover over our tables. There was one point the rain leaned near the edge of the table and the staff came straight away with towels. A very hospitable place. We ordered gyoza, tonkotsu + shoyu ramen, mochi (sesame + vanilla) and home limonade. It was SOOOO yummy!! Very similar taste to homemade stuff in Japan ~ the broth was creamy not too salty or fatty and the pork belly was really gooood. The mochi was fluffy and fresh too 10/10 👌🏽

VERY authentic place. We had probably the most Japanese experience that is possible in Germany. The best part are people who are working there. They are very friendly and I liked the atmosphere a lot.

Cocolo Ramen – A Slurp of Japan in the Heart of Berlin If you’re craving a taste of Tokyo without leaving Berlin, Cocolo Ramen delivers the goods—bold, flavorful, and full of soul. I had the TanTan Ramen, and here’s a pro tip: ask for it extra spicy and definitely add the extra egg. Creamy, rich, and with a subtle kick, it’s the kind of bowl that demands your full attention. Paired it with Kakuni—tender, sweet pork belly that basically melts on contact—and washed it all down with an ice-cold Kirin beer for the full Japanese experience. What truly elevated the visit was the counter seating. Sitting solo, right near the open kitchen, watching the crew work with focus and rhythm—it felt like a brief return to Japan. The location is easy to find, and the vibe strikes a perfect balance between casual and authentic. Final verdict: Cocolo isn't just a ramen shop—it's a little slice of Japan in Berlin. Come hungry, sit at the counter, and let the steam and flavor do the rest.

Lovely place to have dinner in Berlin. Super nice service and super special experience when you seat at the bar and see how the chefs prepare the food for you. We ordered the gyozas, tantan soup and the pork belly soup. Everything was delicious!

Google
Best ramen in town! After having being to Japan this is for sure the place where I go to find again that tasty ramen. Very authentic atmosphere and the staff is super friendly. Maybe they could have more vegetarian options as there is only one.

Cocolo sits quietly in the heart of Berlin Mitte. Low Lightning, handwritten signs, steam curling from the open kitchen. It doesn’t push itself — it just is. And it nails the feeling of slipping into a ramen bar somewhere in Tokyo on a cold night. 🥣 Broth – 5/5 Perfectly balanced and surprisingly layered. What made this broth special was how the umami built gradually — not all up front. The more you eat, the deeper it gets. By the last sip, it was an umami bomb. Clean, rich, and deeply satisfying. 🍜 Noodles – 5/5 Thick, chewy, and absolutely on point. Cooked to perfection — firm enough to hold shape, soft enough to carry the broth. No sogginess, no bite-off weirdness. Really well done. 🥩 Toppings – 4/5 The kakuni was standout — honey-glazed and rich, easily the most memorable bite in the bowl. The chashu felt a little too subtle and got lost under stronger flavors. The ajitama was cooked a bit longer than I like — not jammy, more set. Balanced overall, but not flawless. 👁️ Presentation – 4/5 Served in beautiful handmade ceramics that made the whole experience feel grounded and intentional. But: the chopsticks were flimsy, disposable bamboo — which felt totally out of sync with the rest. The vibe and atmosphere though? Excellent. Dim, focused, just enough buzz. ⭐ Overall: 4.5/5 Would I go back? Absolutely. Would I recommend it? Already have. If you're in Berlin and craving warmth in a bowl — this is it.

Google
Really good Ramen and friendly staff, a must if you visiting Berlin, it can be crowded so make sure you either make a reservation (if possible) we got lucky and did a drop in/out. Possible to pay both with cash or card! Very clean and fresh toilets

Yelp
So good! This was really good ramen. Great flavor, this is a must have! Put this on your list of places to try.

Yelp
Great ramen with most likely a wait (but at least the line moves relatively quickly). Staff of only ~5 running the whole place are efficient but have lots of customers. Wonton flavor was good but was overcooked. Miso ramen was outstanding. Tonkotsu was great and shoyu were great. Tan tan was mediocre. Overall happy with the experience.

Yelp
Came at 9 pm and waited about 15 minutes. Got the gyoza, tonkatsu, and miso ramen. We also got a grapefruit chuhai. The tonkotsu broth was different in a good way than any we've had before. The pork is a bit on the skimpy side, and the tonkatsu ramen seemed to have less toppings. The miso ramen seemed legit to me. I chose the normal miso broth, although I was tempted to try the vegan broth option afforded by the miso ramen. It came a generous portion of corn and scallions. I liked it fine and got a kaedama (extra noodles). Gyoza was good, but we probably wouldn't order it again as it was pretty standard. The grapefruit chuhai was literally with half a grapefruit that you squeeze yourself. That meant it wasn't as sweet as one might expect. I was thinking it would be like a grapefruit highball, but it really was like a soju with grapefruit zest, which made it strong to drink still. I wouldn't get this again, but it was fun to try. This place is really made me feel like I was back in Japan- totally legit and would easily fit in place back home in California. Price is on par with current prices for ramen.

Yelp
You could easily miss the door for this place, if not for the long line outside. It was a chilly night visiting Berlin and I was craving ramen. We must have just missed a seating as even though they have a good amount of spots (seating extends into the back porch), we waited about 50 minutes - not going to lie, I was moaning about it the entire time. But once we got our ramen - Wowow it was worth it! I got the Tonkotsu ramen which is something I've ordered at other places, but the flavor of the broth was surprisingly unique! It had this underlying peppery grilled flavor that was delicious, and the pork belly was cooked to perfection. My husband had the Tantan ramen and was equally happy. I like that the kaedama (extra noodles) come on the side, so you can share with your companion. Delicious satisfying meal *slurp*

Yelp
This review is for a visit back in 2019 - I had low expectations when I arrived knowing that getting Asian food in a European country was probably not the best idea. However, I am glad I did! Ordered the tonkotsu ramen for dinner and was not disappointed. The ramen tasted just as good as the popular ramen places in the states. Restaurant was also nicely decorated - price was comparable to ramen in the states. I am not entirely sure if this is a chain, but it seems to be have several other Cocolo Ramen locations.

Yelp
Glad we got to visit Cocolo Ramen during our visit to Berlin. It is in a cute neighborhood with a lot of restaurants and cafes. We got there around 615PM and there was no line but we did have to sit outdoors in the courtyard. We all got Tonkatsu Ramen and a kimchee as an appetizer. I cannot believe the ramen here is only $9+ Euro because the same bowl in SF will cost you at least $15! What I realized is the pork belly they served is the thick square cut like back in Taiwan (Braised pork belly) instead of sliced ones like in Japan or those served in the USA. Overall, the pork belly is great, ramen is cooked well and broth is rich and savory. It is a cash only establishment so be ready to bring some Euros with you. Service was friendly and fast but they don't rush you like in the US. When we walked out, there was a long line out the door. I can now see why this ramen place is so popular.

Yelp
For me .. the waiting time to get a seat is not too long and also its not too short. But when they asked me for what i want to eat until the food coming, i think its very fast. You don't need to wait a long time to get your food. Appetizer is the best. Kakuni meat is really delicious. It's so perfect blend with the marinade. And also the Gyoza, i can give 5 stars for this. Ramen .. is ok for me. I can eat but it's just like a normal Ramen like i eat in Düsseldorf. About the seat, you can't get the privacy because you must to seat with another people. But it's also ok. It's not suitable for long sitting. The staff was so friendly and i really satisfied with the service.

Yelp
This is probably the best ramen place in Berlin. During 4 months of my stay in Berlin, I couldn't find any ramen place that would top this or any good ramen place in Berlin in general. Of course you had to line up for it. My coworkers and I went there early, before it opened and there were already people in line. Luckily we got a spot even though there were 6 of us. This is one of the places where you have to line up but it's not hyped up. I had the tonkastu ramen. All the ingredients in the ramen are pretty high quality, the pork, the seaweed, the ginger etc. I'm not sure if it was because I haven't had good ramen for so long or maybe it's actually that amazing but best ramen ever! Please keep it up!

Yelp
I wish this place was closer to my house, because I would eat here more often. Limited ramen menu, but perfectly done with an authentic taste. While people tend to sit too long and make the wait longer than it needs to be, it is worth the wait. The different alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks available are worth trying as well. I highly recommend this place if you are in the mood for ramen.

Yelp
Okay, so this is a review coming from someone who has lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for the past four years and eaten at some of the best ramen places there. Okay, so, I came to Cocolo Ramen with pretty high expectations after reading the English reviews on Yelp. So, from a Californian perspective: I would say this place is okay, but it is definitely NOT on par with any ramen place I have tried in the SF area, or LA. Anyway, it can get pretty hot inside, but there is outdoor seating (I think that is what I saw). The servers greet you when you come and go, just like all Japanese restaurants. I am not sure if they speak English because I was spoken to in German the entire time (weird, I know), but they do speak Japanese, and if you do too, you can easily strike up a conversation with the cook. I ordered the shoyu ramen, and the pork meat was few in proportion, the noodles were okay, and the soup base was below mediocre -- sad to say. You know something is wrong if I am not drinking the soup. I may have come on a so-so night, I do not know. I am willing to come back here sometime before I head back to the States in the fall, and maybe I will have a change of heart.

Yelp
Service was great but the food wasn't quite what I expected. The flavoring was a bit bland from my perspective.

Yelp
Outstanding ramen & great service all at a reasonable price. I found this little gym on a few different websites & can say this hole-in-the-wall didn't disappoint. The location itself is very small & can be a little tricky to find. There's typically a 5-10 minute queue & the smaller your group the faster you'll be seated because of the space limitation. The staff were super friendly as well. They sat me at the counter where I chatted with a regular for suggestions, so based on that I started with the shrimp wantans which they make fresh in-house. It's a soft, moist noodle wrapped around shrimp & put into hot water and served with green onions on top. Awesome. Afterwards they brought me the tonkotsu ramen with chashu, ajitama and a huge, juicy lump of pork in it. It was very good! Highly recommend checking this out if you are in town!

Yelp
Read the pretty good reviews took a special cab to try it and aside from the fact that is hard to track from the street, looks like I couldn't count on the place / yelp that state it's open till later I found out from one of the stores next by that it's closed till Jan 1st... You both can do better and dropping a small note and saved us the clients and time and disappointment

Yelp
My brother and I had dinner here with his friends. It's a tiny restaurant so we had to wait a bit but it did look like an authentic ramen place. The aromas from the open kitchen was so appetizing and we were all excited. I love ramen and I've got my favorite spots in NY. So when I try a new place I compare it by ordering the classic hakata tonkotsu ramen. Cocolo's tonkotsu ramen was quite good though it's not among the best of what I've had at other places. They do get points for having gyoza on the menu though. And the gyoza was delicious alongside the ramen and some Japanese beer.

Yelp
I feel like the sign that a restaurant of [insert ethnicity] is delicious and the real deal is if the majority of patrons of X ethnicity eat there, and if the chefs are of X ethnicity. Well, if that is an indication, this place is packed to the brim with Japanese clientele, and the chefs, one of which is kinda hot, are all Japanese. I was right - the food is delicious (especially when you add the condiments) , the price is right, and the experience is authentic. Yayyyyyy! Hipsters rejoice! The ambience feels like you're in a smoky, cozy Japanese street eatery in a 1940s traditional Japan meets 2016 teak wood Japanese modern age sort of way. Each bowl hovers around 8-10 euro so hooray, that means you can eat at least two and still be a cheapskate! There's outdoor seating in the back, and a beautiful interior, in a fun neighborhood. You really can't go wrong. So good I definitely ordered and ate two bowls of Shio in one sitting lol. ~~~ THOSE WITH GLUTEN ALLERGIES, REJOICE!! ~~~ What's even better than the awesome food, is the service. I was SO excited to try their food that I stupidly forgot that ramen noodles are made of wheat, and helllllllo I am actually allergic to wheat. I was literally crushed when I realized this, especially because WE WERE SITTING AT THE TABLE WHEN I DID. SMH. I went all the way there, 25 minutes via train, walked 10 more minutes, waited 10 more minutes for a table, waited 10 more minutes for the waitress to come AND THEN THE REALIZATION HIT ME. Dude. Re-freaking-diculous. I'm SMH @ my damn self. When you think you've finally found something which checks off for being free of all 9,367 things you're allergic to, it's like all brain function stops! Anyway, upon telling her of my allergy, the waitress kindly asked the chefs if they had any rice noodles on hand (without my knowledge!), and came back to report they could make Shio specifically for me, WITH GLUTEN FREE RICE NOODLES!! #YASSSSSGAWDDDDDDD And when I tell you that this ramen was banging, was the bees knees, was all that and a bag of chips, I mean it! Being the greedy heathen I am, I ordered 2 bowls of Shio. Was totes worth it. YAYYYYYYYY. I will legit always come back here, for that alone.

Yelp
Amazing. That's all you really need to know. This ramen is ~amazing~. There are a few choices, not too many to feel overwhelmed, not too few to feel restricted. There's an option for vegetarians, too. I would recommend going about 15-20 minutes before opening. That way, you can get in when they first open. There WILL be a line -- it's that's good, that even in the cold of winter, there's a line. Be sure to line up on the other side of the street next to the park. Once you get in, you'll instantly feel cozy and ready for some ramen. I've tried the tantan and the shoyu, both with a happy, pleased reaction! Delicious. In short, if you want the best ramen in Berlin, come here!! Also, their service is very good, they are so friendly.

Yelp
This place has one of the best fried dumplings I have ever had!! Yum!I could've easily had multiple plates had I not been so eager to try everything else! Followed by the wantans, which were jam packed with flavour and so delicious. The kimchi was fresh and was served very quickly. We had the Wantan ramen which was hearty and warm. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone that loves dumplings and ramen! The service was so efficient and the sitting area was very cute and rustic. The only issue is you do have to wait inline for around 30-40 minutes and there's no covered area so if you do get bothered by the rain maybe it's wise to walk by and see how long the wait is! Overall, one of the best ramen places I've been to and would absolutely recommend !!

Yelp
I was actually very impressed and surprised by this place. I wasn't expecting much being from this place since it is in Berlin but this place is actually one of the better ramen places I've been to (and we have some pretty good options in NYC/Boston.) Mostly though I was impressed that they actually hired people who are able to speak Japanese (which seems like a rarity these days...) It was a good experience also because we were seated at the ramen bar so we got to watch the chefs cook everyone's food. We ordered the Tonkotsu and the Shoyu. The Tonkotsu soup base was delicious and the pork belly in it was perfectly cooked and melted in your mouth! The Shoyu was also SO GOOD. For our appetizer we also got the Moyatan (because they sadly ran out of the kakuni...) which was not for me, but it was still pretty good. I highly recommend you come here if you haven't had legit ramen before!

Jennifer R.

Yelp
This is probably the best ramen place in Berlin even though we had to wait for a few minutes. It was definitely worth it. The broth was aesthetic and the portion sice was ideal. The staff is very friendly and motivated. I also recommend the Gyoza and Edamame as an appetizer. Won't be the last time I visited this awesome place.

Jessica L.

Yelp
I ate here along with a couple of friends the first night we were in Berlin as I was intrigued by the number of Asian restaurants around. And to be honest, I was really missing Asian food... Walking in, you can only see the indoor seating so the restaurant appears to be quite small. We waited a little over 10 minutes near the doorway before we were seated, and were led to a table outside behind the restaurant. I ordered a rice tea and a tonkotsu ramen. The broth was pretty good--on the lighter side for a tonkotsu. The noodles were ok, but at least was still chewy. The tonkotsu was the only ramen with a soft boiled egg, which was marinated well but slightly too salty. It also had two different types of meat in the bowl: one fattier, more marinated piece of pork and the rest thin slices that is the standard for ramen. The pricing is pretty standard as well: €12 for both the tea and ramen. Overall, it's a pretty safe choice for authentic ramen in Berlin and I would definitely say to give it a try if you're in the area.
google avatar

William M.

Yelp
Been here a couple of times probably due to my high expectations (reviews and ambiance) I've been somewhat disappointed. I really enjoyed the lemon ginger tea but thought the miso ramen was too salty. Everyone's salt tolerance is different so try it yourself. It's the vegetarian option so maybe they feel they have to overcompensate... The place is tiny so be prepared to wait but the ambiance is fantastic. You feel like you're stepping into Japanese kitchen. You can sit at the bar facing the chefs as they ladle soup into rustic clay bowls and hang wooden and wire utensils on the wall. There are tables for small parties in the back or more space outside if the weather's nice. I love the pictures of the 5 or so different ramen dishes hanging on the wall in the entrance. The portions are generous and warming. Have some Japanese beer or a rice tea if you're in for something different. Enjoy!
google avatar

Yolo S.

Yelp
Ok ramen, but not worth the price or the wait. The indoor area where we were seated was so hot and full of kitchen smells on a summer evening that I felt unwell.
google avatar

Maggie H.

Yelp
I am a fan! Although in fact I've only been once because every other time I tried to come there was a long time out the door or they were closed (closed Sunday's Monday's ). From what I remember, the tonkatsu ramen is nice and fatty, with the broth piping hot. The pork pieces with juicy and the noodles nicely cooked. Hope to be back soon.
google avatar

Miriam W.

Yelp
Getting lost in foreign cities is pretty much de rigueur for me these days. Though I must say getting lost is a lot more romantic in warm weather and daylight than it is in the cold and dark. In fact I could've completely done without the chilly trek I inadvertently made in the opposite direction of Cocolo Ramen (thanks for nothing Google maps!) I suppose, though, this made me appreciate my steaming bowl of soup even more when I finally got it. Ramen - on par with the best I've had in New York and San Francisco - and a cold Asahi in Berlin? Five stars for sure!
google avatar

Sori K.

Yelp
OK. Here we go. For Berlin Maybe this is the best lamian we could get. But If we are in Japan, This lamian is very normal lamian shop with really expensive price. noodle is not special, soup is not special for me. BUT! We are in Berlin. Maybe that is the best one we can get.
google avatar

Chenjie Z.

Yelp
We ordered the vegetarian ramen (Miso) and the pork ramen (Shoyu). The ramen was a bit salty for us but still quite delicious. We love the way the egg was cooked in the Miso ramen and the vegetarian broth was delicious!
google avatar

Matthew T.

Yelp
It has been a long time since I had ramen this good! The funny thing too is I tried coming here three times during my stay in Berlin and the first two it was packed and we decided to go somewhere else. I'm really glad we finally managed to come here as it was great. A small galley type kitchen where you can sit at the bar or at a few tables is how it is laid out. It does have a sort of izakaya feel but more food than drink. There are also table out back on the patio and this is shared with the sushi place next door. The smells in the kitchen/bar are good but when it is nice out you got to be out back. We got some gyoza, which were very good. Just the right ratio of meat to veggies that at least to me are the sign of a good one. Perfectly pan fried so they are crispy on one side and soft on the other. We also tried the Tonkotas and tan tan ramens. Both were a bit of heaven in a bowl. A real richness and soul in the broth and good bits floating in there. The Tonkats had some smoked pork belly and all too late I saw you can also order that as a side dish, I still kick myself about not doing that. The tantan was a nice spicy ground pork. Noodles were perfect as well. I'm sure in the winter this place is even more packed than when I went because this is perfect cold winter food as well. I just wish I had a chance to go to cocolo a few more times before I left Berlin.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I are both Japanese Americans who have been to Japan numerous times and eat Japanese dishes regularly at home, and we were pleasantly surprised at how authentic and delicious the ramen was here! We came in pretty late around 9 pm and there was a line before us waiting to be seated; it was cramped because there literally is no waiting space in the small restaurant. The first thing I noticed was that the two young male cooks were speaking fluent Japanese (pretty cute eye candy if I say so myself, haha). The waitress addressed us in Japanese as well, and I also noticed there were multiple other Japanese customers there who were obvious regulars that came in to eat by themselves and I took that as a good sign. I usually prefer to be seated in the back of the restaurant instead of the bar, but because we were hungry and didn't want to wait longer, we sat at the bar and it was a great decision! The ambiance was very Japanese and it personally made the dining experience more fun. I ordered the Tonkotsu ramen and my boyfriend ordered the Tan Tan. We also ordered a Kakuni starter to share and a still Calpico drink. We both agreed that we preferred the Tonkotsu over the Tan Tan, but both were delicious! The food came out incredibly fast and the service was great. The total bill came out to be 26.5€. I highly recommend this authentic ramen place. We almost came here two nights in a row but decided to go to the popular Shiso burger instead, which is located right around the corner.

Loriel S.

Yelp
First of all, when weather allows, it is really nice to sit outside, because you have a nice view to the river. Second of all, the ramen is excellent and they are consistent. This is definitely one of my favorite ramen restaurants in Berlin!
google avatar

Irene C.

Yelp
Fantastic ramen located in the tiniest ramen shack ever. Healthier than Ippudo in NYC and various ramen joints I've tried in SF, but solid flavor nonetheless. We arrived on a Wednesday night in March at around 6:25pm, and the line was out the door and down the stairs. It moves somewhat quickly, but this is also not the place to linger and chat leisurely! Would definitely return when I'm in Berlin again, even if it's not authentic German food. But hey! Berlin is all about its internationalization, and having such high quality ramen merely underscores that.
google avatar

Beth W.

Yelp
Menu is very limited. Otherwise it's perfection. I had miso ramen with ginger lemonade. First time in my life I've had authentic ramen and now I'm spoiled forever. BF had ramen with chicken and bonito flakes. He loved it but added spicy sesame oil and seasoning provided at the counter. Cash only. Inexpensive. A bit out of the way. Wait can be 30 minutes or more but IT'S ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT and you must go!!
google avatar

Eve I.

Yelp
I love this place! Every time I went there even before it opens there was always a line waiting outside! It is definitely worth the waiting. I really like the design of the place, even though it is tiny. I think every single detail in this place feels Japanese even the cups and soup bowls as well as the coffee filters that are very practically used as lampshades. Everything is simple. You can watch the whole process of your ramen being prepared! Even the authentic preparation of noodles. And they will slice the egg with the string. I allways ordered Tonkotsu ramen because of the heavenly meat in it. The pork belly is divine! The broth is very oily but in combination with other ingredients and noodles it has so many flavors. I have also tasted Miso Ramen but in my opinion it is not as good at Tonkotsu Ramen (also it has none of this epic meat in it;) Will come back here many times in the future. And perhaps I will see you in the line waiting for your ramen;)
google avatar

Yelp
The best place for Ramen in Berlin. Everything is homemade - from the noodle til the dish itself -, very nice environment as well. Honestly, it's the best wantan that I ever had! Not mentioning that is a very traditional japenese place... No, I mean VERY traditional! So if you are into nice and real Japanese Ramen, don't be hesitate and go for it. ;)
google avatar

Cheryl M.

Yelp
This is the most delicious ramen I've ever eaten! Beats all others, including places I've tried in Japan! The tonkotsu ramen is a must. Creamy, savory pork broth, perfect noodles, tender slices of pork and a chunk of pork belly, topped with slices of ginger and ground toasted sesame seeds. So good!
google avatar

Jane R.

Yelp
Ramen was delicious and excellent except waitress messed up the orders and gave me the guys order. I left $$ under my bowl and told a waitress and then all of a sudden I was being pulled by my backpack for the money. Fuck you lady. Like I'm gonna stiff you for $10. Line was out the door.
google avatar

Julie L.

Yelp
It's always a perfect day for a bowl of ramen! Tip: it's next door to a sushi restaurant, so don't walk into the wrong one! The space is a bit small, but it's nice and cozy. Probably able to fit around 30 people at a time. Within 3 minutes of you sitting down, you'll be eating that bowl of ramen. Very fast service and quick turnaround. Be warned, this place is cash only! The ramen is definitely worth the walk.

Yelp
Most amazing meal I've had in Berlin. Amazing servers and the food was incredible. I got the pork belly, gyozo, and miso soup. It was incredible.

Yelp
It's really real Ramen. Yes, in Berlin. And there are Asian people in the kitchen so it's super legit. My friend was saying that it's a bit pricey for the Ramen, but he didn't realize the amount of money I would pay for a decent bowl. So I was ready for my wallet to hurt, but he totally lied to me. I got the the Tonkotsu Ramen with tender pork belly, a perfect soft boiled egg, ginger, and seaweed 9,50. We had sides and drinks as well and it was hella good and all for 40. Love this place and if I lived in Berlin, I'd be a frequent customer.

Yelp
Simple menu but amazing place and food! We ordered kimchi, miso ramen and wantan ramen and all of them were a delight.

Yelp
My fiance and I are huge ramen fans (having gone to Japan several times and coming from SF Bay Area where the ramen culture is in full swing). We decided that on our Europe trip, we'll try to visit at least one ramen store in each city. Cocolo was a couple of blocks from where we were staying, so we dropped by after arriving in Berlin. It's a small ramen joint that gives an authentic Japanese ramen parlor feel. We both ordered the tonkotsu ramen. It was really delicious and we cleaned bowls! It may not be the best ramen we've ever eaten, but it's definitely comparable to some of the best ramen we have in San Francisco Bay Area.

Yelp
A very authentic ramen experience in Berlin that's worth the wait. Cocolo is a very authentic ramen shop that's even comparable to some ramens I've had in Tokyo and Taipei, which is quite amazing considering most ramens I've had in Europe are mediocre at best. I ordered a Tonkotsu ramen, and was pretty satisfied with it. The broth is thick and just right... not too salty, but not too bland either. The texture of the hand-made ramen was spot on as well, though the taste of the pork felt a little off (too heavy). The restaurant is very small and has limited seating (another authentic point), so expect to wait in line for a while before getting seats, especially if you're in a group. The only disappointment was the price, as it is a tad-high for my liking. Still, it's a great ramen shop that definitely worth the visit and the wait!

Yelp
Definitely the best ramen in Berlin! Very satisfying. Not the closest place for ramen to me but I'd travel here if I was craving ramen any day!

Yelp
Have had ramen in nyc and Tokyo, and this place is legit. Not saying it's better, but it's as good. And for it to be that good in Germany, that's pretty cool. Place has limited sitting, and it's pretty popular so had to wait a bit. But not too long. Flavorful broth, noodles got a good bite, and meats are tasty. I would come back again if I was craving ramen in Berlin.

Yelp
The line sucks but the ramen is good. Get there early to avoid the line. There are only two authentic ramen places in Berlin so accept the lines , order and slup up!

Yelp
Overall if you're looking for really delicious and authentic Ramen you just might not find it in Berlin. However, if you're looking to get the job done and cure a craving, this place works. Plan ahead and don't arrive starving as a line will form about a half hour before opening outside (opposite side of the street). We did that and got first seating when they opened. The place is small and cute and service once seated was pleasant and fast. The shrimp dumplings were actually very delicious and would recommend, i found the shoyu ramen to be just fine (mediocre compared to dishes I've had in DC and NYC but I've heard essentially top notch on Berlin standards). There really was not much of a kick or flavor to the broth though and the pork was not tender, a bit tough. Prices seemed normal, though maybe pricy for the area. If you're in Berlin and need ramen and have a bit of time to spare to wait and aren't a ramen snob, check it out.

Yelp
I arrived before they were even open and there was already a line. Luckily, I was a party of one, so I was seated right away. The place is small, and cash only, but WOW was that some good ramen. I had the Wonton Ramen and I have to say, between the wontons, buttery shio brother, and veggies, this may have been the best ramen I've ever had, and I'm a ramen snob from Los Angeles. Yum! Perfect for the snowy day.

Yelp
My wife and I were both pleasantly surprised by how delicious the ramen here was. Clearly other people know how good it is, or want to try it for themselves, because this place fills up pretty quickly within a half hour of opening. It's also quite a small space, however, with seating at the bar area, a handful of tables inside and a few larger tables outside. We both ordered the tonkatsu ramen because, well, you won't really want to share too much of this one! The broth was savory with very toothsome noodles floating within it, the pork belly and pork slices were tender and flavorful, and the remaining accoutrement were very good as well from the soft-boiled egg to the slices of ginger (first time I've seen ginger in a bowl of ramen, but it was a nice touch). Service was very pleasant and very fast! A must for ramen lovers living in or visiting Berlin.

Yelp
This place is so cool! You have to wait to be seated because the place is small and popular, but the ramen is worth it. The service was also excellent!

Yelp
Definitely the best Ramen in Berlin out of the 7 places I've tested. Cheap food with generous portions (none of us could finish our Ramen)
