Obviously N.J. Magazine never came here. I've tried many of their bakery pics, but not a one is as good as Cocoluxe. After starting to nosh my 1st purchase, I turned right around and bought $85 more baked goods. This stuff finally tastes as good as it looks. NJ is blessed with artistic pastry chefs but finding one who delivers flavor worthy of the calories is akin to searching for the Holy Grail. Cocoluxe finally delivers what we've been searching for. However, when I asked if the chocolate croissants were loaded with lots of deep dark chocolate or with just a typical modest strip or so, my counter rep suggested I skip it. I did. On the other hand, in my life, including what I conjure up myself with Guitard chips, I've never discovered a better more intense iced cocoa drink. This is not for the faint of heart or Swiss Miss fans. If you crave a mouthful of deep, dark, bitter chocolate, this is a drink you'll drive 20 miles to savor. It's for purists, arrogant elitist chocolates. This is the place.

I used to love this place! I have been coming to this place since I moved to the area in 2016. However, either the owner doesn’t care anymore or the employees are contributing to the decline of the service. I always get all my cakes, French macarons, cookies and croissants, for all my multiple parties from this place. Like usual I stopped by on a Monday to place an order for a party on Saturday, but the place was closed, due to the “heat wave’, I was OK and told myself, no problem I’m a regular and I’ll call the next day to place my order, well I call in to place the order and a very rude lady on the phone said they couldn’t accommodate, because the orders are supposed to be 5 days in advance. I told her that I would have met the deadline, if they didn’t close for a “heat wave” and that it wasn’t my fault. She responded, “well it’s not my fault either that the management decided to close and the owner said she cannot do it”. What kind of response is this to a regular customer, who buys all my pastries from this place? I like to support local, but I WILL NEVER GO BACk TO THIS PLACE… I ended up driving to Ladure at Short Hills and got all the French macarons from a real Parisian store, who didn’t give me an attitude on my order. Definitely this place has become Cocosucks!

Cocoluxe brought our vision to life! With just a few inspo pics, they created the perfect winter wonderland themed cake for our daughter’s first birthday. It was a hit and tasted delicious too. This is the second cake we’ve ordered from them, will definitely be back. Highly recommend !

Google
We had a nice walk through the park next-door, then picked up cappuccinos and croissants at this bakery. The cappuccino was ok. But the chocolate croissant was good. I’d come back for sure to try a few other things

Google
Service is terrible especially from 3 specific women behind the counter. Rude for no reason and just overall making stupid decisions when speaking to customers. Reoccurring. Quiche, gelato chocolate mousse is good

Google
Ordered a chocolate croissant, ham and cheese croissant, palmier, chocolate, one large latte, one small latte and a small regular coffee. The elderly waitress made me two large lattes, which I was going to let go - a little extra coffee can’t hurt - but then I noticed there was no ham and cheese croissant in the bag; instead I got a plain and a chocolate one. I told her - there’s supposed to be one chocolate and one Ham & Swiss - so she went to correct it. And I’m now home with a plain and a ham & swiss. Either pay better attention or have someone who can HEAR be the one to take orders.

We had lunch here and had a cake tasting for my daughter’s wedding. The atmosphere is that of a French coffee shop. The pastries are lovely and I loved my croissant. The coffee is self serve and very good. My daughter had soup and a lovely sandwich. Great spot for coffee or to meet a friend. The wedding cake for our daughter’s wedding was two layers. Carrot cake and lemon & raspberries. It was as delicious as it was beautiful! The price was very reasonable and so was delivery. Highly recommend.

Google
Despite their excellent baked goods, whenever I call on the phone, there is a recurring feeling that I’m inconveniencing them due to the consistently rude tone of the woman who answers the phone. For the record, guys, I’m a customer trying to overpay for a cake and you’re making it difficult to do so. Baked goods 5/5, snobbery 1/5.

Yelp
I've been coming here for almost 20 years now. Food is amazing from the soups to the cakes; coffee too.

Yelp
A cute cozy cafe offering delicious deserts and some breakfast choices ( soups and sandwiches ) we stopped here to get the flourless chocolate cake and I had some passion fruit truffles it was delicious !

Chris R.

Yelp
Ham and cheese soufflé the crust is tender. It has just the right amount of ham and cheese. So delicious! The coffee has the best aroma and even a better taste. Cheers Cocoluxe'

Yelp
I have very fond memories of this place. I used to come here with my Mom on a day off from school to have their delicious soups or enjoy a cup of coffee. I love their cute indoor seating, and if the weather is nice, it's good to sit outside too and watch the cars go by. I recommend the pistachio cookies and pignoli cookies.

Yelp
I don't think there is anything at CocoLuxe I wouldn't like lol. Everything I have had from there was delicious. I only wish it was low calorie! It's a cute place and always bopping with tables outside if you want to have a pastry and cappuccino and relax. I had a birthday cake made there for my brother's bday and it too was a hit! Nothing here will disappoint.

Yelp
Very nice cafe/bakery in a quaint town. I came on a Sunday morning and they were very busy. Limited seating inside. Their cappuccino was very good too.

Yelp
I have to agree w some of the negative reviews on here. It's a bit hit or miss. Some of the pastries are more on the bland side- like the blueberry muffin and cinnamon roll. The almond croissant and ham and cheese croissants are recommended. I wouldn't get the raspberry and cheese danish again- nothing special. Line is usually long but moves quickly. Everyone that works here is very friendly and helpful so that's why I'm giving it 4 stars. There are a few tables outside where you can enjoy your pastries and coffee.

Yelp
This is a great French bakery. My favorite selections include the savory scone (which includes hints of rosemary, and pieces of ham) and any of their croissants. Chocolate croissant is perfectly flaky with a great amount and f chocolate inside. They make various coffees there, including my personal fave, an Americano. At lunch time they have pre-made sandwiches on their baked bread. Hands down the best is the roasted vegetable sandwich on focaccia - perhaps one of the best prepared ahead of time sandwiches I've had. If they have them, the chocolate mousse mice are worth a try.

Yelp
Found this place on a bike ride and considering the name + ritzy area I expected everything to be way overpriced. In fact the pastries and other baked goods were quite reasonable, and tasty. There was a bit of a line on a Sunday morning but that's to be expected.

Yelp
Cute bakery in a small town. We always come here after walking at the nearby park, Natirar. Every time, we are surprised at how low the price is. We got two hot coffees, two chocolate chip muffins, and a biscotti for less than $10. If it's nice out, there are a few small tables to sit at outside.

Yelp
We love to go to Coco Luxe for special occasion cakes. Our go to is the old fashioned chocolate. Very good ...even a week later when we have leftovers! We also love to pick up pastries and cookies which are always delicious and decadent. The service is always wonderful too.

Isabelle M.

Yelp
Thankful for CocoLuxe for making the most perfect gender reveal cupcakes for my husband and I. We wanted to do something smaller just between the two of us and the staff helped steer us in the right direction. The cupcakes came out perfectly and were absolutely delicious. Thank you for helping us celebrate!!

Yelp
An absolute gem, located in tony Peapack/Gladstone. Exquisite pastries that almost should be showcased in a fine jewelry salon. They go seasonal when appropriate, so expect apple and pumpkin flavors this time of year. Park across the street, grab some snacks and coffee, then head north from the lot-follow the road until you reach Lake Road and turn right-it's one of the most scenic drives in NJ.

Amanda P.

Yelp
Just simply cannot understand how a bakery that sells a custom cake for hundreds of dollars "writes" on it in this way. I'm feels disrespectful and is upsetting. Makes me not want to go back.

John H.

Yelp
Every aspect of our experience was very good. The only "negative" is that it's not cheap...but you definitely get what you pay for. Treat yourself and you won't be sorry.

Yelp
The best bakery around, hands down. I always go here to buy my staff an unnecessary amount of pastries but also go to satisfy my own sweet tooth. They have a wide assortment of cookies, muffins, cakes and even sandwiches and soups. Their prices are fair and worth every penny. My favorite item is their chocolate chip cookies; they're like eating a stick of butter! Deliciousness. Their cakes are beautiful and you can purchase pre-made ones from their display case or custom order one (just don't be that person who expects a custom cake on the same day, because they can't do that). If you're in the neighborhood or passing through on Rt. 206, take a detour here for coffee and sweets. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Perfectly decent coffee shop in a small (rich) town. They have coffee in the canister that is not hot. They serve sort of a bitter brew. I threw most of it out. Patties are good. I don't plan to return.

Elise H.

Yelp
Want to really like this place since not many bakeries around here. I've tried three different cakes from here and all were just a bit below average with the carrot cake being the best out of the three. They are just really dry without any good flavor and I don't care for their icing although they do look pretty. The savory scones have been good. Not sure if they don't measure properly but have gotten their sweet scones on different occasions and they just taste overly salty like drinking ocean water. Macaroons were on sweeter side and don't really taste much but sugar. Chocolate croissant was also just ok.
google avatar

Yelp
The savory scone and breakfast pizza are out of this world!! Worth a stop whenever I'm in the area

Yelp
OMG. AMAZING! Everything there is incredible. Beautiful setting and a small cafe with great ambience. Pricey, but worth it.

Yelp
I have tried CocoLuxe in the past and their pastry has been fantastic. Recently I had to order a cake pretty last minute for a wedding for my brother and new sister. We had about two weeks to go and I stopped in for tea and thought I would inquire about cake. Everyone was so nice and accommodating and when I spoke to the head baker, her love of cakes and decorating was infectious. I was instantly sold on her work and we talked about flavors and what works best for an outdoor wedding reception in Queens where I would be driving the cake. I ran the details by the bride, groom and my mom who all were happily on board. We picked up the cake this Saturday morning. It was beautiful and then boxed in a way to ensure that would protect her beautiful confection. The cake was a show stopper at the wedding. It was frosted in white buttercream and had lace made of Golden gum paste. The gold matched the golden details on the bride's Sari and we bought a flower topper from a local florist to add to it. Inside the cake was a moist vanilla spongecake and fresh strawberries. It was creamy, sweet and refreshing. Our whole family is so appreciative of the crew at CocoLuxe and cannot wait to visit again!

Yelp
Best Almond croissants bar none! Coco luxe is so out of my way but the almond croissants are so worth the drive!!!
google avatar

Amy P.

Yelp
Best bakery in area. Pricey but high quality. Croissants especially almond are perfection. Also baguette sandwiches for lunch are available. Wide variety ofcsoups including dairy free optoons. I stop by regularly to meet friends and sit at bistro tables outside. Dog friendly.

Steven D.

Yelp
I ordered a cake and they brought out the wrong cake. They finally found my cake but they did not put any decorations on it. It looked like a cake you would buy in the food store. Use another bakery.
google avatar

Yelp
Outstanding! I ordered a flourless chocolate cake. Real artistry in decoration...but also best flourless cake I've ever eaten and that's saying something. It doesn't get better than this. This will be my go-to pastry shop from now on. Easy curbside pickup. Please support this business!

Linda N.

Yelp
One thing is more delicious than the next. Great soups also. The employees are very nice.

Yelp
I want to update this review that I spoke to the owner and it turns out the staff was unable to hear the other guys racist comment. When I pointed this out she was equally disgusted. I still want to leave it up because it's terrible these type of people are in and around peapack Gladstone So this just happened. While at CocoLuxe an Asian customer accidentally stepped in front of a Caucasian customer, who turned to him (in front of the staff and others in the store) and said "this isn't China you stepped in front of me. I was in line this isn't China".... I couldn't believe what I heard so I said to the customer "you can't say something racist like that to this man!." He explained to me it wasn't racist that he travels to China and this is what "they" do in their culture. ....Just really sad in my view.

Nina K.

Yelp
Always friendly and the most delicious cakes, pastries, soups and sandwiches. Sandwiches are excellent and quite well priced! A favorite place and I will find any excuse to end up there!

Yelp
Dropped my son off at a local complex to go caroling with his chorus and decided I needed a little local flavor. Stopped in at CocoLuxe and ordered a chai latte and a couple of biscotti (pistachio-orange and hazelnut). Small shop with small tables, but they seem have a strong local following for so late in the day. The aroma coming from the mace was great and the soup I saw at lest three people eating looked great. I'm not normally a 'chai latte' kind of guy, but it seemed like the way to go and it was delicious. The biscotti were a little small, and a bit pricey, but both flavors were home runs. I don't frequent this area very often, but if I did I could see this as being a great place for Wifey and I to hang out and enjoy a sweet treat.

Maura P.

Yelp
A very cute and popular local bakery. If you know what to order they have some great stuff. Highly recommend the flourless chocolate cake, the tiramisu cake, any of their quiche, and the soups. The kouign amann on Saturday are also great. Croissants are on the verge. Dough flavor is good but they're chronically undercooked and need to be popped in the oven to get them properly crisped on the outside. Avoid the sandwiches at all costs. I picked up a "Turkey Gruyère" and it is confusingly bad. A soggy and bland combination of wet turkey, baby spinach, nondescript cheese and a flavorless honey mustard. I would have been much better off making my own. Learn from my mistake - get a quiche and a soup for lunch and you'll be happy!

Celeste N.

Yelp
ordered cupcakes that were extremely disappointing. The base of the cupcakes were hard and the icing wasn't the smoothest as well. I had been there previously and tried one of the cupcakes and it was great. owner tried telling me they were baked fresh that day but I have been in the bakery business ( didn't let her know) and I know for a fact it was not baked that day. Tried giving me a store credit but I refused because I won't be back- I also bought a cake altogether cost me $75- not worth it

Preeti D.

Yelp
Hands down one of the best bakeries in NJ ! Not only the selection of baked goods sweet & savory, how Amazing is their staff ! Warm, prompt and courteous. Not only am I a customer for my private events but I have had breakfast done by them for my elementary school and the staff cannot stop complimenting. Paula & her wonderful team are doing such a fantastic job ! We love cocoluxe and we keep going back for more !

Yelp
Convenient, in town location (NO COMPETITORS . . .Hello out there). Cute ambiance, pleasant employees, VASTLY overpriced, and taste is hit or miss. For example, we paid $4+ for an almond pastry and couldn't decide whether the butter used has been burned, or whether it had too much egg. Simply not good. Nowhere else to go nearby. Limited hours. Would like to see longer hours, lower prices, etc. but, a management judgment. . . not mine.

Yelp
OBSESSED is an understatement. Raspberry tart, lemon tart, Mexican got chocolate, veggie sandwich and chocolate oranges I can personally vouch for and give it a big YUM!! My doggie clients are obsessed too and I think they should start selling doggie biscuits. Camp Becca

Andrew R H.

Yelp
You'd probably need to leave the continental United States to find a place that makes better pastries.save a flight to Paris and come here instead
google avatar

Yelp
Finally got the chance to grab some pastries at CocoLuxe after seeing my friends post pics of their treats on social media for years. It absolutely lived up to the hype. I got there about 30 minutes before closing and there was still a great selection. The pumpkin baked goods were all sold out but to be expected at the end of the day. There was a line on the street but it moved quickly and the staff was super friendly and efficient even with the jerks behind me who didn't GAF about social distancing or being polite. We had chai macarons, great. Chocolate chip cookies, amazing and 2 tarts, key lime and pumpkin meringue, that were out of this world. It's out of our way but we will definitely make the trip again for a special treat.
google avatar

Ashley A.

Yelp
They make the BEST macaroons!! Anything baked here is fabulous but I took some stars away for the sandwiches. I got a veggie sandwich that was dry focaccia with a slice of moz, zucchini, an unsuccessful attempt of a red smear and portobello mushrooms. After removing the mushrooms and half of the bread, the flavor of the sandwich was good, just not satisfying or as expected.
google avatar

John R.

Yelp
I drove past this famous local place for eight months before finally going through its doors. I did get some amazing previews from things that were brought home by other people but that does not provide the experience of what it is like to be in the store. The selection of offerings is large and the freshness is quite amazing. There are even a few seats inside to share some treats over a cup of coffee or my recommendation of hot chocolate!
google avatar

Shivani T.

Yelp
We visited this place few months back and really enjoyed the food.. We had their croissant & different types of baked goods.. I didn't like the soup much but everything else is great in this sweet little shop.. do check it out!!!

Dawn B.

Yelp
My Husband and I have been her a few times. The staff is cranky and rude. We used to like coming here and would stop midway on our bike ride for a bite to eat. After a bad experience with the cranky staff last fall we decided to give them another chance this past Saturday. We arrived at 3:30 and tried to place an order for 2 sandwiches. The older staff said, the kitchen was closed. Prior to our leaving for this planned stop we checked the website and it was posted hours until 4 pm no where does it state that the kitchen closes early nor is it stated on the sign on the door. The older woman told me the kitchen closes a 3:30 and she told my husband it closed at 3:00. I have never been anywhere else where people have such bad customer service. This is order at the counter service only. I don't mind paying for quality food but $2.50 for a one inch cookie is ridiculous. I will not be back here again. I will go around the corner to Gladstone Market for a sandwich and coffee.

Yelp
Cocoluxe is one of the area's most beloved little establishments. We love to sit with coffee, a pastry, and a newspaper chatting, running into friends, loving life and just watching the world go by. The food here is casual but elegant and often decadent, offering scones, croissants, cookies, cakes, fine pastries, soup and sandwiches at lunchtime. Cocoluxe is a local institution, a stopping point for Saturday cyclists, a Sunday morning meeting place and the center of life in Peapack.
google avatar

Eileen F.

Yelp
The pastries are good but what really stands out for me are the soups. They change almost every day so it's hard to recommend one. They usually have three or four. Makes a satisfying lunch with a piece of bread! Or a sandwich.

Elisabeth S.

Yelp
Wonderfull place such a treat every time we stop for coffee or something more. Pastries are all delicious amazing croissants breads cakes
google avatar

Laurie P.

Yelp
My friend and I stopped in for coffee and after seeing the pastries I ordered 2! Best tasting and such a variety!! I felt they were very reasonably priced and the service this morning was fast. Highly recommend if you're nearby to stop in here. They also have outdoor seating to enjoy people watching.
google avatar

Maria M.

Yelp
Food and pastries are exceptional. In the morning the service may be a little slow but just leave a little extra time. Not to be missed. Good resting place for bicyclist and runners in Peapack/Gladstone
google avatar

Sushmita S.

Yelp
I ordered my baby's first birthday cake from this place and it was amazing. Not only it looked good but it tasted great. Each and every guest loved it. I highly recommend this place. Great service! great food!
google avatar

Emily Y.

Yelp
I walked in to pick a ready make cake. The chocolate cake was way too sweet. Very busy place though.
google avatar

Tara W.

Yelp
My only complaint is that the food is too delicious to be so far away from our home in Bergen county! We were seeing the alpacas at Bluebird Farm down the road and stopped in to warm up. What a delightful little French cafe! Of course the pastries and cakes are beautiful and delicious but don't forget the soups and quiches too.
google avatar

Natalie A.

Yelp
I've never been to this location before, only tried their cakes. One friend absolutely loves this place so he often brings cakes from this bakery. I would be interested to try some of the small pastries as well. The latest cake was a Madagascar vanilla cake. For me it wasn't sweet enough, but I am not topically a vanilla cake type of person. The icing wasn't very flavorful but the cake sure was pretty. These cakes are absolutely statement cakes!! I've had some other flavors of cake from them which I've enjoyed, but I'm not as excitable over these cakes as others. When I'm looking for dessert I'm looking for it to be sweet, not over the top sweet but pretty sweet. Again, others like their dessert not as sweet and I think this is where this place works for some. To me if you're looking for a presentable cake that looks luxe, go here. I'm not sure of prices as I haven't picked one up myself.
