This Caribbean Island Has 6 National Parks, White-sand Beaches, and a Gorgeous Luxury Resort

"“An inventive Asian-Caribbean fusion menu elevates the laid-back beach bar atmosphere at CocoMaya in Spanish Town to a destination that draws locals and visitors alike. Drop by after swimming at The Baths for a toes-in-the-sand seafood lunch, or return for DJ sets and cocktails in the evening.”" - Carley Rojas Avila Carley Rojas Avila Carley Rojas Avila is a bilingual travel writer, editor, and content marketer. How to Plan the Perfect Trip to Virgin Gorda

"A beachside spot in Spanish Town where an inventive Asian-Caribbean fusion menu elevates a laidback beach bar atmosphere into a local-and-visitor draw; recommended stops include a toes-in-the-sand seafood lunch after swimming at nearby grottos and returning in the evening for DJ sets and cocktails." - Carley Rojas Avila Carley Rojas Avila Carley Rojas Avila is a bilingual travel writer, editor, and content marketer. CocoMaye is an absolute island treasure! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt like pure Caribbean magic—open air, swaying palms, soft lighting, and that perfect beachside breeze. The setting alone is worth the visit, but the food and service take it to another level entirely. Every dish was beautifully presented and full of bold, fresh flavors. The seafood was incredibly fresh—perfectly cooked, seasoned just right, and clearly prepared with pride. The cocktails were tropical perfection, especially their signature drinks that taste like vacation in a glass. You can tell the bartenders know what they’re doing! What truly set CocoMaye apart was the service. The staff were warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive without ever being intrusive. They treated us like friends, not just guests, and checked in at all the right moments. We never felt rushed, just relaxed and taken care of. The ambiance as the sun set was unforgettable—soft music, lanterns glowing, and that laid-back, elegant island vibe you can’t fake. It’s the kind of place you want to stay long after dinner just to soak it all in. If you’re in the BVI and want an unforgettable dining experience, CocoMaye isn’t just a recommendation—it’s a requirement. Exceptional food, stunning atmosphere, phenomenal service. I’d give it six stars if I could! We’ll absolutely be back. 🌴🍹🍽️✨

We had to book it months in advance. Cool vibe. Right next to the Beach. Good food (though they stand to go a little too salty for our liking). Service is impeccable!

Went here on a recommendation. We were all starving, so we ordered just about everything on the menu, not joking. The food was hit or miss. Spicy tuna Roll, one of the best I've had. The duck nachos were hard and chewy like jerky. The muscles were perfectly cooked and fresh. The bao bread was delicious but the meat part was a salt bomb. I had to spit it out. All in the food was decent but not 5 star. The service was okay but could have been better. BTW, let the table keep one menu at the table. It's tapas. The idea is to keep ordering. We had to keep asking for the menu. The atmosphere was top notch. Loved that the most. Would I go here again, 🤔 maybe

This is an amazing find in the BVIs. Coco Maya fires on all cylinders to make for a great dining experience. The setting is stunning and the food and drinks are even better. Wonderful shared dishes that we all enjoyed. A most memorable dinner.

Love the location! Food was great. We arrived at 4:30 (Thursday) as we like to eat early and avoid crowds. View was amazing. Wait staff was friendly and professional. Looks like a cool place to get drinks and hang out. They had a pool table, corn hole, jenga…I recommend a visit if in Virgin Gorda. Either go early or make reservations.

Sunset cocktails with a twist … hammocks, sofas in the sand, sushi, sounds from the DJ, giant jenga and entertaining staff. What’s not to like? Nothing. We went every single night!! Fantastic, book a table!!!

Favorite dinner spot on Virgin Gorda! Perfect spot for a date night. We loved everything we tried - some favorites on this visit were the cucumber salad, fried eggplant, and kimchi roll - but I don't think you could go wrong with just about anything on the menu. The Buddha cocktail was delicious, essentially a dressed up version of a classic daiquiri. My husband had a jalapeño margarita that was also very good - I'm not normally a big fan of spicy cocktails and even I liked it, just enough of that spicy bite without it being overpowering. We stayed after dinner too for more drinks and enjoyed the bar and lounge areas and music. Very fun and relaxing atmosphere.
