This is little gem is an exceptional value for what you get! We booked an oceanfront room, hoping they didn't oversell, no they undersold! The lady who showed us our room was very nice, informative and efficient. We were footsteps away from the water. Between our room was a nice common patio area, down a few steps and its toes in the sand. The room was a typical beach side room. Included a coffee maker, which was perfect as we picked up some coffee and enjoyed our morning coffee sitting on the patio watching the sunrise and listening to the waves. Just off the shore line is a slight drop where you can snorkel and enjoy beautiful fish, beware there are sea urchins, I recommend some water shoes. This place is a little slice of heaven.

Perfect stay- bed is supremely comfortable! Small and tidy room with nice ambience right on the water. Centrally located. Could not ask for more. We stayed in one of the less expensive rooms with ocean view and it was just right. For a longer stay, one of the larger rooms with balcony would be terrific.

Valerie and her team provide outstanding service, and the location of the Inn can't be beat. All the local reviews say that Steps Beach is the best location for snorkeling in Rincon, but we found that the waters behind the inn were far better for first-time snorkelers. We've stayed in the Faro and Dolphin rooms, and found them to be almost perfect. I expect to return from Atlanta to Coconut Palms for at least one week per year for as long as I can. We really loved this place.

Right on the ocean in Rincon. Caribbean ocean swimming just a step off the back patio. Snorkeling and swimming are nice during hours when the water is calmer, waves are fun to watch and the sounds are nice to fall asleep to. Shady well tended garden space with some cafe style tables and chairs to enjoy. Clean comfortable rooms, some with kitchens. Friendly staff, beach towels provided. Hotel is embedded in a quieter neighborhood off the busy street. You can walk for about a mile on the beach toward the town area but we found it was pretty key to have a car to get into town for the restaurants etc.

Just leaving after staying a week. Amazing small inn with beautiful gardens, comfortable room, and an incredible view! Footsteps from the perfect beach! Great service and nice people! Felt like home!

We stayed three places in PR and this was the surprise best. Right on the beach with a fun ledge to snorkel on. Nestled in a quiet neighborhood close to town, you can walk to many things. The room was great with plenty of storage and a beautiful little garden. Not the place to go for the party set.

Google
A+ location on the beach. Receptionist was super nice. Property was beautifully landscaped. Room was a little small but very comfortable and clean.

I literally cannot love this place more. This was my 5th or 6th stay at the Coconut Palms Inn and every time I go back, I fall more in love with Rincon and Coconut Palms. I have stayed in all but 2 rooms and they all have benefits. This time, I stayed in the Dolphin room. ||It's a big room, and has a full size fridge and small hot plate if you plan on cooking. It has great windows that open to the patio so you can hear ocean waves crashing against the shore, but be aware, there is no direct access to the patio from this room. Not a huge deal, because the walk through the garden is easy, but just a heads up to manage expectations. ||The Coqui room is my favorite. it's upstairs and you get a great view from the porch. The garden rooms were great for my sister, who traveled with us this time. She found the waves a little loud, so the garden room was better for her sleeping. But, the louder, the better, for me! ||No matter what room you stay in, the staff at the Coconut Palms Inn are helpful and will offer all sorts of info to make your visit to Rincon enjoyable. Other guests are also always friendly. I have never had a bad experience here. ||If you are looking for a high end resort, this isn't it. It's so much better. It's quaint, in the neighborhood, and exactly what you need for a relaxing time in Rincon. Every time I visit, I can't wait to come back. ||thank you Valerie! See you soon!

Yelp
Convenient location around commercial zone and close to downtown. Calm ambiance with a pretty garden and access to the beach from the facility. Staff were pleasant and kind. No private parking but good access for parking on the street in an area of limited traffic. Clean, quiet, and safe area. I definitely will go back. Simple rooms with good prices.

Yelp
Highly disappointed- would not stay here again no would I recommend it. Checked into our room in which the A/C did not cool the room. There was a stand fan in the room and according to the staff it was a known issue. The bed was full of hair! Yes hair all over the pillow cases inside the bed covers on the sheets. Made for a great night between the heat and the dirty bed. Don't get me started on the ocean view, one window did not open and the glass is frosted. The two ladies working there were unfriendly and did not want to hear complaints. One told me to write a review in Yelp and on bookings, as that was the only way to tell the owner. Less than great experience for a lot of money. The beach location was nice but too far from restaurants, shopping and bar areas. Parking is at your own risk first come first served on a skiing street.

Yelp
Beautiful little hotel with an amazing view! The service was amazing too, Angel in particular was so kind, personable, and helpful the entire stay! If you're looking for a cute charming spot on the beach with nice people look no further :)

Yelp
Be aware they don't have generator back up. I stayed there and power was lost. No A/C, I had to stay somewhere else. They still charge me for the days i didn't stay. In PR I understand sometimes power goes down. However they should have a generator back up. I stayed at a Airbnb and the power went down they have a generator.

Yelp
Enjoyed a few days here with the family. First off, it's all about the location. You don't get many places in the island with beach front access. This is not a fancy Hilton or Melia hotel. Keep that in mind when you book. It's a Beach house turned into a guest home. With that said, don't expect fancy. Despite the things I didn't like, like the shower head coming off, loose tiles in the bath room and heavy doors that rubbed on the tile when closed and open; I overlooked that and went for the reason I booked. Again, location! By 6:00 am my daughter was walking down the beach still in her pajamas. We were able to eat at their patio with amazing views. The vote was quiet and everyone we interacted with was friendly and helpful. They have an assortment of beach items you can borrow - noodles, boogie boards, umbrellas, coolers, beach chairs and also a grill you can use at their patio. They are also pet friendly. That and their quick access to the beach was the reason I booked. We took two dogs with us. Do keep in mind that there are cats in the property. They really don't bother you. But if you are allergic to either cats or dogs, may be something to consider. I saw some reviews of people complaining about not being able to sleep because of the ocean noise. Really? What do you think happens to the ocean when you turn your light off? It just becomes quiet for you? So if you are not used to spending time near the beach, skip the place and get yourself a place where there's a pool between you and the ocean. It seems they had some damage after the hurricane and at the moment they do not have a completely safe access to the beach and they currently don't have showers outside. Definitively considering this place again when we come back.

Yelp
Great little inn. right on the beach. Staff are very helpful. Rooms are nicely apportioned. Beautiful sunsets all while sitting on an ocean balcony. Close walk to groc store and pharmacy. Nice retreat. Paradise!

Yelp
Coconut Palms Inn is a hidden gem. It's beautiful, quiet, comfortable and ON the beach. The staff was friendly and very helpful. I have found my happy place. We ate, drank, swam and explored all around Rincon. It's a fun beach town.

Cristal P.

Yelp
It won't get better than this. A gem that sits directly on the beach. You'll be able to hear the waves all day. Staff was friendly and professional. Angel was an angel! You can't get a better view of the beach. It is walking distance from a grocery store and very close to the rincón plaza. I will certainly be coming back and recommending this to my friends and family. A truly magical stay!

This place is always clean and staff is awesome and professional. Have stayed here many times and will always return. Walking distance to many great locations. Right on the Beautiful Beach .

Yelp
What a find! This hotel was very reasonably priced and the back patio the overlooks the ocean is incredible! We stayed in the Starfish room, which was about $100/night for a queen bed room with a fridge and microwave. We found the bed very comfortable and the room was great. But the back patio is just amazing. There are chairs and tables overlooking the ocean, and a gas grill/stovetop that also overlooks the ocean! There are pots and pans and utensils provided. Being able to cook was a great relief! Our room was not an ocean view room, but in my opinion, I preferred that. The ocean view rooms overlook the patio, so if you want the windows open, you are overlooking a public area which usually has people in it. So I thought our more private room was just as good, and cheaper! There are a few very friendly cats that live on the property and will hang out with you when you're on the patio!

Yelp
Location, location, location. We slept to the sound of ocean waves crashing and stepped out on to the terra cotta tiled patio each morning. If you're looking for a cheap place to stay on the beach this is it. Our room was on the ground floor so the common area with right outside. I do wish we could have scored a room on the second floor (oh well, next time). There's a shared outdoor kitchen with a grill, which was cool. It could have been a bit better stocked, most of the knives were dull with a capital D. Things like foil and plastic wrap would also be a nice addition. Our room was large with a small fridge, microwave and table and chairs. The bed was a bit uncomfortable. At times it sounded like it was about to collapse. I am by no means a diva but a shelf or shower caddy in the bathroom would have been helpful. There wasn't any where to put toiletries aside from the sink and the back of the toilet. Aside from having to sit in the garden near the router to pick on a Wifi signal this place runs pretty smoothly. Kenny and Rosie were amazing and helpful. I must say there was always someone working on something and the inn is spotless. For the price it's the best deal in Rincon. Great location. Close to everything. P.S. there are a few outdoor cats that call the inn home. It was nice to have some four legged company.

Yelp
Loved this place -- and loved the staff and neighbors even more. We found ourselves without a hotel room in Rincon one night because another place double booked our room -- we called Angel to see if we could come a night earlier, but the hotel was completely booked -- and so was everything else in Rincon. Angel made a phone call to some neighbors and he hooked us up with Kim and John who rented us a 2 bedroom flat right on the water for a very fair price. We were in a pickle and they could have charged us a lot more -- or not even bothered helping us out -- but these three people made our trip because of the genuine kindness. The next day, we moved over to the Coconut Palms Inn. We had the room right on the water on the upper level. It was awesome. I've never slept so close to crashing waves. The hotel is simple, cozy, and eclectic. There are some resident cats that come see you also. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. Thanks for making our trip -- we were very happy and we will definitely be returning.

Yelp
This hotel and staff were far from what we expected. We were very disappointed with our experience with the place and management, and cannot recommend staying here until they significantly improve. My wife and I were passing through Rincon as part of our honeymoon, and we booked the ocean view room on the first floor. We did not expect to stay in a resort, but expected what was advertised per the hotel and reviews, which was a small cute place on the water with a nice view and access to the beach. The room had constant noise from all directions (you can hear conversations of our neighbors), no consistently working AC, no hot water, no working internet, a TV that did not work (though they stated they had 38 channels), a noisy and uncomfortable bed, and a muddied glass window from which you could barely even see the ocean. There was minimal beach area compared to what is shown in pictures, and the staff informed us that this was because of the hurricane, though the water itself was fine to wade in. When we brought all of this up with the evening staff, stating our intent to leave after the first night (we stayed one night as we got in after 7pm and could not easily relocate), and to see if we could get a refund for the remaining nights, the night manager (who got off at 10pm) deferred to the manager who came in the next morning at 10am. The manager (plus the owner, who took her own sweet time in coming from upstairs after she was called by the manager) treated us poorly and were completely unapologetic. In fact, they were both very defensive and accused us of "ambushing" them, when all we requested was a cancellation and refund for the remainder of our stay. After hearing our complaints, the manager immediately became flustered and stated she was too busy because it was a Monday morning, and that she had too many other important things to do. The owner backed her up. Other guests whom we ran into that night had a similar experience. If you have the chance and are not just looking for a place to crash, please make sure that you check the place out, and are able to get a refund if it is not to your liking. Apparently there is a lack of professionalism and hospitality, and we feel that with enough response from potential and past guests, this place could hopefully start responding to constructive criticism and improve the quality of future guests' experiences.

Yelp
I recently visited Coconut Palms Inn and had an issue with my room. I write this review giving CPI 5 stars because of how my issue was handled. First, Angel (the manager on duty at the time), offered to fix the problem and apologized. He was super nice. He encouraged me to write an email to the Inn explaining what happened. I did and the owner, Gail Taylor, responded right away. She detailed how the problem will never happen again and offered to refund me for my ENTIRE stay - over $600. She also said if I ever decide to visit again, she'll give me a night free. I would write what the problem was, but at this point, does it even matter? Any hotel owner that is willing to refund you for your entire stay, write to you in detail as to how she is going to remedy the issue, and if you return, she's giving you a free night, clearly cares a lot about her guests and her business. I highly recommend this Inn not only for its location, ambience, price, and amenities, but also because it's in a league of its own when it comes to customer service and care. Thank you so much.

Yelp
Trip adviser review. We booked a quick 4 day trip all over PR, my GF is Puerto Rican so she is very familiar with the area. We were excited to stay here because is the excellent reviews. But Zues S from Miami left the perfect review of this place. I just wish I would have listened before I booked this trip. We got there at 12p not expecting to check in, but we arrived earlier than expected and just dropped by hoping to spend time at the beach. Rosie was very nice and told us she would try to have our room ready earlier since we were already there and showed us around. We told her take her time and ended up having lunch and drinks by the lighthouse. Let me start with the pros of the hotel. Room was very clean* (see below), the STRONG/OVERWHELMING smell of cleaner lingired in our room until the next day.  There is a microwave, mini fridge, and the bed was very comfortable. Location is awesome, right on the beach but also in a residential neighborhood. The cons= When Rosie showed us around the room she told us our light flickers. "we replaced the bulb, but it still flickers so it must be something else" we were speechless when she said that. If your were to go to a hotel, this would never be an issue. They would have fixed it asap. The towels, although they were clean, were stained. The one thing a hotel should get right is having clean towels. Please see photo for example. All the furniture is extremely outdated. Seems like a random assortment of things people threw out of their houses were placed here. The bed was comfortable but looked like it was on its last legs, literally. The legs were completely slanted I was waiting for it to just collapse on us.  The inside of the bedroom was stucco, yes stucco, our bed was against the wall and my elbow was scratched up from sleeping close to it. Our room did not have a single window which wasn't really an issue, but the most disappointing thing was the door to our room was a glass door with a curtain attached to it. Why would you use a glass door for a bedroom?  There was a pipe from the bedroom air condition that lead to the bathroom shower. Our bathroom was extremely small. The door would not close, the sink was tiny and there was hardly any space between the shower and the toilet.  Very very cramped. We had a coffee maker with a filter cups and plates....  No coffee. And for my finale, they shut the electricity off as soon as I got in the shower. The electricity was shut off manually in the middle of the day, no lights, no windows. They said they knocked on the door to notify us,  but I was already in and had to finish my shower with our flashlights from our two phones. We were very disappointed with our stay and would have asked for a refund, but there is a big "no refunds" sign when you check in. We just avoided contact with them. The last thing we wanted to do is fight and complain for something on a vacation. We left early in the morning and will not be returning ever again.

Yelp
Do not be fooled by the photos this place is not what it's advertised as. Yes it is on the water but there is no beach and the views are nice from outside but the rooms are awful! Dark, dingy, loud (you can hear all your neighbors even their soft conversations), the room is cramped, dark and depressing. No hot water, cable or WiFi as advertised. When we addressed these issues w management they were rude, and completely unhelpful. No offer for refund or help w getting a nice room. We were on our honeymoon and this was the opposite of a romantic vacation spot! On talking to others around here who live here this is the reputation they have, for being cheap and terrible hotel managers and other guests leave constantly! Do not stay here !!!!!

Kate L.

Yelp
The first night we stayed there, we were running late coming from the East Side of PR and had all kinds of issues come up. The owner, Gayle, COULD NOT HAVE BEEN NICER or more understanding. She helped us find somewhere to eat and still took time to show us around her wonderful place (even though it was almost 11pm!!) Coconut Palms Inn is RIGHT on the beach (Amazing views!) and there's also a great little garden area in the middle filled with coqui's. My boyfriend and I ended up "missing" our flight, so we called Gayle and went right back to Coconut Palms. We highly recommend this place, it's relaxing and welcoming and perfect for couples or small groups.

Yelp
Couldn't wait! From the first interaction with Gail(the owner), I know this would be a fantastic stay. The location - prime! The assistance with getting around and information: perfect! The rooms: cute and traditional island themes. Our room overlooked the ocean. Can't beat that. Note: the sound of waves crashing against the building is deafening, so if you have trouble sleeping to sound - this may not be the place for you. The beach: adjacent to the property, so you literally walk out of your room and step onto the beach, take a swim, run, whatever it is you do one the beach. Walking distance to the beach hotel/ bar areas on the island as well. Walking distance to a grocery - there is a fridge and microwave in the room. You are able to use a common grill n the deck area on the 1st level. Great for sunset bbq's and cocktails. There are also about 9 cats on the property, so if you are a cat person, you'll love it!

Paula B.

Yelp
Excellent value for the money! Our room was oceanfront right on the beach and we could hear the ocean even in our room. The staff was extremely nice and the room was spotless. The furnishings were a bit dated, but acceptable. The hotel also has a grill, coolers, and water toys available for guests as well as a private beach. Absolutely recommend this place!

Yelp
My husband and I discovered this place in December 2015, stayed for 11 days in the room called Whale, which we loved and came back in December 2016, brought some friends and are staying for three days in Gecko and they stayed in Dolphin.

Seth R.

Yelp
We spent a week in Puerto Rico and this was hands down the best place we stayed. You're literally on the beach. There's a great outside patio with a BBQ/kitchen area (utensils provided) overlooking the ocean and there's a grocery store within walking distance. We made breakfast and dinner there. The rooms were basic but clean, but you won't want to spend much time there anyway. This will be the first hotel we book for our return visit!

Rachel W.

Yelp
Simply perfect. My fiance and I stayed in the Faro suite and loved it. Faro is an apartment with the feeling of midwest country on the beach! Highlights: Located on the beach with LOW traffic of people! Beautiful sunrises and sunsets from balcony (we saw whales in the distance) Snorkeling onsite Kind attentive staff Walking distance to the grocery store (jet skiing and parasailing too) Falling asleep to the sound of the ocean Best part: The Coconut Palms Inn and Rincon in general wasn't touristy. Book it--you won't regret it.

Yelp
Great little hotel/guesthouse. Very friendly and helpful proprietress. Clean, comfortable rooms.

Yelp
This is my new escape! With no passport needed and a 3.5 hour flight from Baltimore Washington, I will definitely be returning. The staff of the Coconut Palms Inn is friendly and bend over backwards to accommodate guests. They know the area and will gladly give you some recommendations on restaurants. The views are incredible. The magnificent palms spread a canopy of shade over the entire place. I love the architecture, very old school, yet extremely well maintained. We had the second floor apartment, and our kitchen had everything needed to prepare the most extensive menu. It even had this incredible margarita machine (want to get one for home) with which we had so much fun. We could sit out on our balcony with coffee and listen to the birds and the waves. The bedding was very comfortable. You fall asleep, listening to the ocean waves as though you were sleeping on the beach. In the morning, there was a rooster crowing, but he was far off enough that he never woke me up, I just heard him when I was up and making coffee, and I thought it was positively charming. The maid service was perfect, not too invasive, but took care of everything, including very nice towels. Always attentive to any request. The fascinating, unique garden was beautifully created and managed, tile paths to discover, exotic plants, orchids and local flora, unexpected fountains, and a bubbling fish pond, with random tables and chairs and hammocks, where you could relax and read, or gather to talk with your new international friends also staying at the hotel, which I did. The patio on the first floor was so inviting, but I prefer to sit directly in the sand on the beach. The beach is delightful. There is a baker's rack in the garden that is stocked with beach towels every morning. You walked down to the garden, grabbed a couple of beach towels, mosey on out on the beach, and find yourself a chaise lounge. The water there is clear and blue with enough of a surf to keep you invigorated. I like a little surf. The beach is immaculate, except for coconuts and palm branches. A fabulous location, in adorable Rincon, with a little shopping center within walking distance with a great grocery store, Edward's, that has a very nice wine selection as well as gourmet foods, a fantastic cheese selection, very nice beef, local produce. The prices were reasonable. I just can't say enough good things about this place or about Rincon.

Steve H.

Yelp
Loved this place. The property is right on the water. Rooms were great and the price was reasonable. The staff was helpful. It was clean and well maintained. They even helped me arrange a fishing charter. The owners were on site most of the time and enjoyed mingling with the guest. I can't wait to return. Thanks guys I had a great time.
