This is my new escape! With no passport needed and a 3.5 hour flight from Baltimore Washington, I will definitely be returning. The staff of the Coconut Palms Inn is friendly and bend over backwards to accommodate guests. They know the area and will gladly give you some recommendations on restaurants. The views are incredible. The magnificent palms spread a canopy of shade over the entire place. I love the architecture, very old school, yet extremely well maintained. We had the second floor apartment, and our kitchen had everything needed to prepare the most extensive menu. It even had this incredible margarita machine (want to get one for home) with which we had so much fun. We could sit out on our balcony with coffee and listen to the birds and the waves. The bedding was very comfortable. You fall asleep, listening to the ocean waves as though you were sleeping on the beach. In the morning, there was a rooster crowing, but he was far off enough that he never woke me up, I just heard him when I was up and making coffee, and I thought it was positively charming. The maid service was perfect, not too invasive, but took care of everything, including very nice towels. Always attentive to any request. The fascinating, unique garden was beautifully created and managed, tile paths to discover, exotic plants, orchids and local flora, unexpected fountains, and a bubbling fish pond, with random tables and chairs and hammocks, where you could relax and read, or gather to talk with your new international friends also staying at the hotel, which I did. The patio on the first floor was so inviting, but I prefer to sit directly in the sand on the beach. The beach is delightful. There is a baker's rack in the garden that is stocked with beach towels every morning. You walked down to the garden, grabbed a couple of beach towels, mosey on out on the beach, and find yourself a chaise lounge. The water there is clear and blue with enough of a surf to keep you invigorated. I like a little surf. The beach is immaculate, except for coconuts and palm branches. A fabulous location, in adorable Rincon, with a little shopping center within walking distance with a great grocery store, Edward's, that has a very nice wine selection as well as gourmet foods, a fantastic cheese selection, very nice beef, local produce. The prices were reasonable. I just can't say enough good things about this place or about Rincon.
