This place is absolutely wonderful for those of us that enjoy the laid back peace and quiet of nature and comfort. These bungalows are homey and kept up by the wonderful staff at Cocos Cabañas. The staff interacts with you if you want them to yet, leave you be if you don't. There are 4 or 5 bungalows within the 'neighborhood’ atmosphere with a restaurant/bar just a few steps from the doors. A decent size pool right there as well. Nature is all around with lots of trees and other plants scattered among the bungalows. Silvia was great with anything that we wanted or needed. She has water fountains all around the place which adds to the natural peaceful feeling while you stay. The drinks are mixed perfectly and the pizza that they are known for, from their wood fire pizza oven, is amazing. If you dont go for a stay you are missing out and you would really miss out if you didnt at least stop by for aome of there wonderful food. Their fish is another dish i would recommend as well as the shrimp and Alfredo noodles. If i get back down that way i would definitely make my way back there to stay and definitely to eat.

The restaurant was really enchanting. The hostess, Sylvia, was so kind and generous. She went above and beyond to make it a perfect night. The food was delicious and the entire night felt magical! I hope to go there again someday.

A guest at our nearby hotel recommended Coco's as a wonderful place to have dinner, and they were right. Helmut and Sylvia went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Our meal of a whole freshly barbecued fish and delicious, fragrant salad was served in Coco's garden-like dining room. Absolutely wonderful food - the best we had during our stay in Playa del Carmen. Can highly recommend this place.

Cute little restaurant. Paco is a friendly and hospitable bartender. Chef Beto is also very friendly and good. The manager Silvia is speaks several languages and made us feel very welcome.

Cocos was awesome! The rooms were beautiful and cozy, the beds and linens were very comfortable (one of the best hotel beds I've personally slept on) and the overall vibe is very relaxed and homey. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and the hotel does have access to the beach via a neighboring resort. We took many prebooked trips while visiting and we were able to picked up straight from the hotel. The food was far above my expectations, the breakfast was always fresh and very good. The pizza from their wood fire stove was exceptional and the dough they make for their pizzas has a really great flavor. The location is perfect because it keeps you out of playa del Carmen and it's only a 15 minute drive away with a rental or taxi. This is the perfect place for young adults who want to explore the area and have a super affordable and adorable place to come home to! I do recommend having a rental car since it's not walkable (but there are beach clubs you can walk to).

If you want a quiet place not too far from the hustle and bustle you have found it here. The bungalows are quiet, cozy and comfortable. Traditional Mexican design and decore. The owner and staff go above and beyond what you can expect. Never once did I feel like a tourist. I can't say enough of the experience my wife and I had during our visit to Cocos Cabanas. You owe it to yourself to be a guest at this establishment. Very affordably priced and beyond excellent service. Thank You Cocos Cabanas!

Sylvia, the beautiful and charming owner and hostess welcomed me warmly upon arrival after a failed taxi pick up from Cancun airport and a very expensive replacement. I was sat down with a complimentary margarita and told to relax, she would look after me. After that, she and all the wonderful staff ensured that I had the very best time. My cabana was sweet, the bed very comfortable and a good variety of food and drink available for breakfast. For the first few days I used Petit Lafitte’s beach club, 600 pesos weekdays and 800 at the weekend. You had use of sunloungers and parasols and food and drink allowance up to the amount paid. I found the food here vastly bland, tasteless and disappointing. The menu at Coco’s was about the same price but the quality of food was impressive, so much better, in a different league altogether. The stuffed fish fillet was gorgeous but everything was tasty. The restaurant is always busy at night with visitors from all around and no one leaves unhappy. Had a nice visit to Playa del Carmen to the Frida Kahlo museum but then I succumbed to a bad cold and cough. Sylvia insisted after a few days when I was getting worse that she drive me to and from the doctor to get antibiotics etc for a chest infection. Since then I have relaxed quietly by the pool every day to recover so that I will be well enough to fly home tomorrow. I will miss Sylvia and all the lovely people at Coco’s but am taking home many happy memories.

Stayed nearby at Petite Lafitte. Had dinner at Coco's Cabanas one night for their wood fired pizza and went back the next night for dinner. Grilled grouper. Both meals were fantastic. Great ambiance, very friendly staff, reasonable prices and food that was fresh and simply outstanding. The waiter recommended the flan for dessert and it was one of the best ever. Flan with caramel and Baileys. Hard to believe that this small, local place can put out that kind of food. It's a bit hard to find but worth the effort.
