Cocotiers Hotel - Rodrigues

My stay at Cocotiers Hotel was a pleasant experience overall. The staff were very welcoming, and the rooms were clean. However, the furniture is a bit dated and could use some refurbishing. If your room is on the roadside, it can get quite noisy, so it's something to consider. The location is fantastic—right on the beach—with sun lounges that add to the relaxing vibe. The swimming pool is a definite highlight, with a max depth of 1.4m, though you need to be cautious with the stairs inside the pool as they’re not easily visible. The atmosphere at the hotel is very nice, and the buffet for both breakfast and dinner is well-stocked with a variety of food. That said, there were a few flies around, and I think anti-fly measures on each table would improve the dining experience. Overall, Cocotiers Hotel offers good value for its location and amenities, with a few areas for improvement.

I was on my honeymoon and asked for a sea view.I got a view with a banyan tree away from all hotel facilities.I asked to change the room.18hr I received my room and asked me to take my towels from the previous room. I asked for whisky glasses, they said it was not allowed because I already had 2 glasses which were dirty in the room. The receptionist was very helpful and asked us to take the glasses with us from the previous room. For dinner, the only word to describe the food is "DISGUSTING" No local food. We asked if we could get some privacy and take the food to my veranda.it was not permitted. I made a scene, and then it was allowed. The food for my romantic dinner was excellent but we got to know that it was the sous chef who prepared it. I got a very bad experience and I suggest no one to go to this hotel

We visited Cocotiers Rodrigues and opted for a buffet dinner package, expecting a memorable evening. Unfortunately, the experience was far from satisfactory. Firstly, there were no drinks provided during the package—not even water! This was highly inconvenient and unacceptable. The food itself was underwhelming, with mediocre taste and presentation. To make matters worse, we noticed cockroaches and other insects near the buffet area, which was utterly disgusting and raised serious hygiene concerns. Adding to the discomfort, there was no accessible water to drink or any functional bathroom facilities to use. It felt like the bare minimum was neglected, which made the entire experience frustrating and unpleasant. For the price we paid, we expected much better. Sadly, we cannot recommend this place and hope the management takes these issues seriously to improve their services.

Horrible Experience - Avoid This Hotel||||Our stay at this hotel was terrible. The staff and manager were rude and unwelcoming from the beginning. We arrived at 8:00 AM, but they didn’t give us our room until 3:00 PM. This was especially hard as we had two elderly people with us, both over 70 years old, who had to sit outside in discomfort for hours while waiting for the room.||||We also paid for an airport transfer, but no one came to pick us up. On top of that, the staff refused to let us order food for our kids, so they were left eating only rice and bean soup during our stay. The food quality was poor, and the overall service was appalling.||||I strongly recommend avoiding this hotel.

Only come here if it's your only option available. I wouldn't recommend. I almost never write reviews but this is one for the books on how bad it was. The worst was the eating area. In the morning you are constantly fighting with flies and pigeons. The pigeons are so used to people they will jump on your table while you are still eating. At night you gotta watch for rats running around. Random dirty stray dogs show up and enjoy the pool area, which is right next to the eating area. The hanging lamps and other decorations were covered in bird shit. It was bad. Bad to the point I wanted to skip the food to go eat in town cause I didn't want to deal with it. There is a little fly repellent fan thing they are supposed to put on your table. We asked for one. They told us they didn't have any and then they gave one to another table. The next day we asked again and they straight out lied and said they didn't have any. Came here as a party of 3. Booked for 4 nights. The rooms are clean but old. Everything wobbles and feels like it's gonna break at any second. In the Seaview room, the toilet doesn't work and has a horrible smell. The power randomly goes off. The safe didn't have any batteries. They shut off the water multiple times during the day and you have to fill a bucket with water in case you need to go to the bathroom but that's a normal dry season island thing... I guess. The beds are decent. The food is nothing to go crazy over. Most things are decent. Some of the food is room temperature and a bit undercooked except for the fish which is extremely dry. They served fish a few times and it's always dry. The fruits are fresh. During one breakfast they told us they didn't have enough eggs for everyone so we had to limit how much we ordered. Some of the staff are nice but most of them, especially the younger ones, do not care about the guests at all. If you have to ask for something, anything, be ready to make your request 4 or 5 times before someone actually does anything about it. The only redeeming quality of this hotel is that you are on the beach and it's extremely close to Port Mathurin.

If you want a quiet and nice place to stay... Thats the place to be. The people are very nice. Food is good. Lots of facilites nearby.

Leaving cocotiers rite now with a worst experience... definitely not worth also no standard of hotel rather a bungalow.. same breakfast everyday.. no daily change of bedsheet n towels... foul smelling bathroom..flies in restaurant and reception...pool water not clear

-It's more like an auberge than a hotel. -No much food variety but they were tasty. -Location is OK as near to anse aux anglais and port mathurin. -How can a bath cabin be deprived of a door or even a curtain? -Show at night is only between 20h till 21h30 and on Thursday, no show.
