I stumbled upon Cocotte Café during my stay in Amsterdam, and it instantly became one of my favorite spots in the city. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming—fast, attentive, and just genuinely kind. I felt comfortable the moment I walked in, and that feeling stayed with me the entire time.
The coffee was excellent—rich, smooth, and perfectly made. I paired it with a pastry that was fresh, flaky, and full of flavor. It’s clear they care about quality here, both in what they serve and in how they serve it. The design of the space is charming and thoughtfully done, cozy without feeling cramped, and filled with little touches that make it feel like a true café experience rather than just a coffee stop.
I especially loved the outdoor seating. I sat there with my book and coffee for a long while, just enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. You can smoke outside, which added to the relaxed vibe. It’s the kind of place where time slows down in the best way.
There’s a small upstairs washroom that was clean and easy to access. Inside the café, I noticed a selection of illustrated postcards—really sweet and beautifully done. As someone who likes to take home small, meaningful souvenirs, I appreciated the chance to bring back a little reminder of my time there.
Cocotte is the kind of place where you can go to work, meet a friend, or simply unwind alone and feel at home. It’s cozy, thoughtful, and full of heart. I’ll definitely return next time I’m in Amsterdam.
