Coed Owen Bunkhouse

A great bunkhouse in the heart of the national park. Clean rooms with comfortable beds and plenty of space. Large very well equipped cooking area with a large common area to eat and socialise in. Out the back, there's a small snug, ideal for leaders to retreat to when they've had enough! Plenty of parking outside. Ideal as a base for adult parties or youngsters with leaders.

There were 18 of us in Jan 2023 - all there to hike for a weekend. The bunkhouse is one of the best I've stayed in and I've stayed in at least 50 in the UK. Excellent kitchen facilities...amazing six hob cooker and wonderful oven. Plenty of plates, cups, glasses, cutlery. Newly renovated throughout. Lots of sockets for plug in. Nice, welcoming touches throughout e.g. pictures, vases, diffusers. Good sitting space, with additional outside room with fire. Good utility and boot room. And beautiful smelling hand soap. Staff were responsive to our requests. I look forward to staying again in summer. My advice: more hooks in bedrooms / bathrooms. A small shelf for each bunk. Mixer tap in kitchen would be good. A few more large pans. And serving spoons. But overall, loved staying there and will stay again and recommend.

Great facilities with a huge amount of space. Very welcoming and definitely the best experience I have had throughout my time of travelling. It was the first holiday I had away from family and it was full of fun, laughter and the best memories. It was used for The Prince's Trust course for myself but is great if wanted to use for stag or hen parties. Cooking equipment provided. A lovely garden and a lovely set of grounds. A great place to go walking nearby too. Couldn't fault this place at all. I would thoroughly recommend this bunkhouse to many and one day I look forward to visiting again.

I attended a activities stag party and this was our base for the weekend. The bunk house was Brilliant, the bunk beds and bedding was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was fully loaded with utensils, a big four slice toaster, lots of cups and had the all important cafetiere. ||||The owners of the farm are really friendly as well. ||||I would strongly recommend the the bunk house for large groups or for sharing in smaller groups. A fantastic place.

The rooms are amazing. Really well done out. Loved the wallpaper and the paintings on the wall direct. Everything is Oak and really nice wood. No expense has been spared doing this place out. Kitchen is very well equipped and a real treat to work in. Love the large tv projector. Its just am amazing place and ideally located for Bike Park Wales which is what we did in a large group. Has secure bike lock up also on site. Love the pet sheep :-) Loved Geoff the Dog. Beds are comfie and large too and not at all like other cheap flimsy beds in other places. Loved the oak flooring too. Go stay here now!! :-) Has a washing machine too and dryer in a small utility. Also a separate room with a open fire and two sofas for snuggling. Loved all the Ikea furnishings too.

Had such a brilliant weekend at the bunkhouse. Massively overwhelmed by how good the facilities were and particularly loved the kitchen setup,the social area with log burner and all the small things like condiments and cleaning gear were a really nice touch. These things coupled with the stunning location and direct (although hard) route to Pen Y Fan made this a brilliant stag do for me and all the lads were really impressed. Would definitely recommend to others and will be coming back again.||||Cheers for everything ||||Matt and the lads

Brecons in December in a bunkhouse has become a regular pre-Christmas get together for this group of 4/5 families (with kids from age 8 to 17) for walking and laughs. First time at Coed Owen and would definitely go back. Great location for Pen y Fan and despite desperate weather we made it to the top although delayed Cribyn for another time and better weather! Fortunately, Coed Owen was perfect for retreating from the wind and rain to relax, read and play games. The bunkhouse is brilliant for sardines!! ||The kitchen is excellent for mass catering. The bedroom configuration worked well for us and the beds were comfortable. Was lovely not to have to take bedding. ||Loved the friendly dog, the biscuit eating sheep, the helpful owners, the fact that the bunkhouse was warm (very important!), the fact that there was no WiFi so all the kids joined in with the games, everything really. Hoping to be back next year.

Perfect bunkhouse. Never cold like some others. Beautiful location, easy to find, fantastic catering quality kitchen, nice touch with a large smart tv we were able to play content straight off of our phones from the days exploits onto, made for great evening entertainment.
