Came here mainly for Kengo Kuma’s architecture and the ocean view. Expectations for the café? Low. But surprisingly it wasn’t bad at all. The drinks and snacks were actually decent.

I have to say it’s one of my favorite spots and cafe in Atami! What an AMAZING view from the outstandingly beautiful cafe designed by the legendary architect KENGO KUMA ! One main wooden piller that holds the whole roof ! I came so many times to admire just the structure of the architecture ! The cafe is located inside the ROSE GARDEN that is about 35 min drive from the Atami station, so if you come by train either come by taxi or by bus 🚌! Unfortunately have to pay the entrance of ¥2000 in order to go to the cafe as you HAVE to go though the rose garden… The rose garden is beautiful obviously during the rose season (May/June ) You can take the bus to go up (free shuttle ) to the cafe or you can walk about 20 min up. But it’s worth walking if you like flowers. Once at the top the view is BEAUTIFUL 🤩 but you do need to line up for having the cafe experience ! If you go on a week day it’s not that crowded. There are different drinks and also non caffeine drinks and you can order and take out and drink it while sitting outside or inside from the tables or counter ! I liked the cheese cake and lemongrass tea ! It’s a little overpriced but it’s the experience … Enjoy the view and architecture !

For those who want an unforgettable cafe experience, Coeda House cannot be missed! It is a 4 sided full glass cafe facing the sea with a clean, unique and minimalistic ID that will take your breath away the very minute you arrive the cafe. Apart from sipping the cuppa, there is also a swing just a stone throw away. While you do the gentle sway motion in an open environment with the view of sea, it creates a sense of freedom and tranquility, reminding one of childhood experiences and carefree days. The only 'flaw' of this cafe is its accessibility. This cafe is located in a park whereby you need to buy a day pass of 3000 yen to gain entry. It is also quite a walk from the entrance of the park to the cafe. Hence, you will need to take a shuttle bus provided by the park to reach the cafe. The bus shuttle operates in a 10min intervals and you can board the shuttle back at the same stop. To be fair, the day pass allows a full day access to the garden and park. If you have time, it is worth a visit too

We found out the hard way that to get to this cafe you first park in paid parking then pay for a bus ride up the hill. This bus ride was closed when we arrived just before 4. The cafe closes at 5. We were really looking forward to it but were unable to experience it. There is no information on this site explaining the access process so it felt like a big let down. One good point was we explained the situation to the staff who stamped our parking ticket so we didn’t have to pay.

Giving 4 stars due to steep slope without barrier. So its not advisable to bring kids but worth the view. The place are good for instagram photos. No cars allowed to go up, you need to purchase a ticket and use an exclusive bus. In our case, we bought a ticket with a set of drinks. We are 4 in the family and paid ¥4200.

The most beautiful cafe I've ever been to. Overlooking the calm turquoise sea from the huge glass wall was just breath taking I could stay there for hours! The lemon grass tea and orange cheesecake tart was the bomb!

Definitely worth a stop when you’re in Atami especially on a sunny day in Spring! The colourful flowers would add accent to the already breathtaking view of the sea. 💯
