I had a group of 6 come to Coelette the other evening.
Firstly, we had several dietary restrictions in the group- vegetarian, no soy, and allergies to almonds and shellfish. Our waitress was extremely well informed as to the ingredients in every dish, and they were more than accommodating with our needs.
The cocktails were super interesting- we tried most of them and enjoyed them a lot.
The food was also great. Everything was SUPER fresh, well balanced, and good portions for appetizers to share, along with the mains being very fair sized. The surprising standout to me were the sauerkraut pancakes! They were super unique and the flavor was great, and I haven't had anything like it before. The other favorite of our group was the delicate squash, but really everything was good. The only thing I would pass on was the pork rilettes- it tasted fine, but to me it wasn't special, especially compared to how much the vegetables shined.
My group were all happy with their main courses- I had the sturgeon. It was well cooked, but it had vegetable ash on top to attempt to give it a smoky flavor, but I don't think it added much and could be swapped with a different flavor for more balance.
Finally, the dessert- i got this tomato basil dessert and wow, it was so unique and really really good! I think it was sorbet, and the flavors just all really worked and made for a light, flavorful, and unique end to our meal.
I would not hesitate to recommend this place to others, and would happily come back on my next visit to Jackson.
