Amazing service, quite & laid back. The food is delicious. I ordered the avocado cheeseburger is just about devoured the entire thing if it wasn't for the crispy sweet potato fries that filled me up! Also ordered the chicken club on chibota... HOLY MOLY! IN LOVE! Then their was the kids menu chicken fingers. So good. The coffees are had were the best I've had in quite some time! Highly recommend & will be back!

Google
The Coffee Bean Cafe is a nice and casual spot to get a great breakfast at a reasonable price. The people here are extremely friendly and offer great service. The food is prepared fresh when you order and comes out very quickly. Place your order, fix your beverage and have a seat. Before you know it your hot meal is ready. They also have outside seating available. A good place to eat.

If you haven’t visited this adorable cafe, you need to stop by for breakfast or lunch! The food is fresh and delicious. They have some pastries as well.. the cheese danishes and big blueberry muffins are amazing! All of the chicken sandwiches are great, and their fries are delish. The woman who runs the place does basically everything out front and she is sweet and helpful.

Google
Great food. The lunch service has lots to choose from and everything was great. I especially like the house chips. The price to food ratio is also a great value.

Google
Omelette was delicious and filling.Meat was cooked well and the bacon was crunchy.Wish the hash brown had more crunch, but it was ok. The Mocha Frappuccino was tasty.Looking forward to trying more! Update Tried their lunch food and was very disappointed. Fried fish was fishy, smh.I just gave it to my dog.The fried shrimp was good.Fries were soggy and not packaged properly(they put the fried fish and shrimp on top of the fries). The tortilla soup was an assault on my taste buds.Very putrid and overwhelming. It looked like thick slop.Nothing soupy about it at all.Burger is a nice size ,but the jalapeño bun was falling apart. I will just stick to their breakfast food.

Google
Food is just okay. I’ve tried a few things on the menu but only come for the sweet potato pancakes. Service isn’t that good. I’ve eaten here quite a few times and the friendliness of the lady at the counter always falls short for me. Although I literally witness her give the biggest smiles and hellos to OTHER patrons. Today, I didn’t get so much as a thank you before she just walked away after taking my payment. I won’t be back.

Google
Ordered sausage with egg and biscuit along with hash browns and pancakes. The food came out piping hot and good. Enjoyed the service, food and setup of the restaurant. Will be back if I'm in the area.

Google
Excellent breakfast which is my preference for this restaurant however the lunch menu is also very good. The food and service makes for a very pleasant alternative for a change.

Yelp
Everything was delicious! I was so happy with my latte and they had turkey options for those of us who don't eat pork. I loved their high chairs and boosters too. Clean bathrooms. Easy parking.

Yelp
Great experience! The food was fresh and high quality. I got the steak omelette and the meat was extremely tender and well seasoned. My server was kind and warm upon entry and during the entire process. The atmosphere was homey and comfortable. I decided to eat there after my workout and it did not disappoint!

Yelp
I ordered a large Iced Americano and a Cinnamon Roll and it cost me almost $14.00! WAY OVERPRICED!! The coffee itself was $7.00 which is almost twice as much as everywhere else. The cinnamon roll was NOT fresh. I asked her if she could warm it and she pointed me to the microwave.

Yelp
This cafe is one of my favs. The ambiance is pleasant. If you want to grab coffee and breakfast or lunch in a small setting, then this is the place for you! Service is great! Greeted soon as you walk in. You order your food at the counter and then they bring it out to you. They have indoor seating and a cute outside patio with seating as well. The food here is really good. I usually for breakfast though the lunch is great too! I had a iced caramel latte with hazelnut. It was perfect. I ordered cheese grits which were served really hot and creamy!! Egg and cheese croissant was ok, added some jelly! My friend had the southwest omelette and she loved it! Would recommend this spot for breakfast or lunch!!

Carolyn M.

Yelp
Still love this place. The espresso drinks are good and made for custom. The muffins and baked goods are way better than what you would get at Starbucks. They are fresh not from plastic wrappers. They have blended iced drinks that are sugar free and refreshing. Their sandwiches are way better than most places AND the sweet potato fries are really good. The service is relatively slow as its order at the counter and seat yourself. But if you are going there with others have time to visit before the meal lol. Portion sizes are reasonable. Not overt big like other places. Prices are reasonable. Next time you think of going to Starbucks, think of this place instead. You will probably be happy you did.

Yelp
The food here is fast casual! The food is really good they use local ingredients and you can tell they love what they do!! They are open for breakfast and lunch! Great brunch spot!!

Yelp
A one of a kind coffee shop for it's area (5 mile radius). Casual atmosphere, outside and inside seating. I tried to study inside, but it was a bit loud and no music. Outside was very nice though. Prices slightly high, but not unusual considering today's market. I got the sausage egg and cheese biscuit, and it was amazing! Very good food. Would return, but probably not for studying again.

Yelp
The food was really good and the service was phenomenal. It's a cute Cafe and great spot to do some work and grab a bite or meet with some friends for breakfast or lunch.

Yelp
I've been hearing about this place from a few people and finally went for a late breakfast since I was out that way. The server was very friendly. She was patient while I looked over the menu, which was more extensive than I realized it would be. I settled on a bacon, egg and cheese croissant with a Bananas Foster latte to drink. The bacon was cooked very crispy (which is how I prefer it) and the croissant was soft and flaky. The latte was amazing, but the banana syrup was too sweet for me to finish the whole thing. I did finish most of it though, but next time will probably stick to a regular latte.

Yelp
Great coffee shop with even better fresh food! They're always super nice and quick! My favorite sandwich is the fire in the hole sandwich with swiss only bc the ghost pepper cheese is a little too spicy for me!

Yelp
Coffee Bean is a cute little unassuming spot in the middle of some older retail spaces, but make no mistake, this place is legit! I'd been here previously for coffee and it was good, but I was able to enjoy breakfast today and it was very enjoyable. They have traditional coffee shop pastries but also several omelet options - so many that I had to ask the owner for advise because they all looked so delicious. I landed upon the veggie omelet - filled with zucchini, mushrooms, bell pepper, onion and your choice of cheese. I added turkey for some added protein, but vegetarian would be great as well! Paired with my very tall Americano, this was just the breakfast my Monday morning needed. I'll definitely be back and will spread the word to others looking for a casual breakfast in the Sherwood/Coursey area!

Yelp
Tbh I really wanted to like it here. The service was great besides them forgetting my husband's biscuit. (Def should've checked the bags before we left). The food was subpar. I got the French Toast, Grits, and Hash Browns. My husband got the Grits, Hash Browns and a Biscuit. The Grits were ehh, nothing special, kind of under cooked. The Hash Browns and French Toast were dry and burnt. Won't be going back, but definitely looking for a good breakfast/brunch place in BR.

Yelp
We stopped in here the other day and were VERY pleased with what we found :-) Orders are placed with the cashier, and when its ready the food is delivered to your table.   All the food we tried was excellent - the menu offers several specials, as well as a number of soup, salad , and sandwich options. Their breakfasts in particular are delicious, and their coffee is wonderful - highly recommended!

Yelp
Great place to eat. Lunch items are all good. Croissant club is my favorite. The homemade chips are fairly unique and each has a different flavor. Breakfast is also good here and is a great option locally. Prices are reasonable. Deserts are really good. Had the red velvet which was awesome. Quick ordering and delivery. Can get loud, but that's anywhere when crowded. Lots of parking too.

Yelp
10am Wednesday. Busy and loud. Customer requested to meet at this establishment. We spent an hour there and saw a good amount of foot traffic. Had the iced coffee, steak bagel and meat omelette. It didn't take too too long to receive our order. Everything was average. Added an extra star bc the dining area was clean and the clerk had it under control. Overall it was too rowdy for me. Might be different next time.

Yelp
One of my favorite places! The staff are always so friendly and the cafe au laits here are so good! The food is always great too, especially the danishes! I make sure to stop by every time I'm in town.

Carla V.

Yelp
Excellent sandwiches & salads! Love homemade pastries & their own in-house chips! But they stop breakfast too early on Sat.'s!! Please stay open to 2:00 for breakfast!

Yelp
I was first introduced to Coffee Bean way back in the day (we won't say how far back) when I was in Weight Watchers and discovered they had a "point-friendly" cinnamon roll. I think they still have it, though their display case was bare today. The staff is friendly enough. The food prices are good, and it is tasty. Don't come here looking for a fancy breakfast, but do if you're looking for some good home-cooked food. Breakfast and lunch are offered. The breakfast menu consists of omelets, egg-breakfast combos, as well as pancakes, waffles and French toast. When I make it back, I plan to get some coffee and hopefully that delicious low-calorie cinnamon roll.

Yelp
Have you ever walked out of a restaurant with a big smile on your face and said to your self, "man that was good!!!"? Well this was one of those times that happened to me!! You order at the counter, take a number, and seat yourself. The restaurant was very clean, spacious, and had lots of seating. I ordered the GRILLED SALMON ALMOND SALAD and the cafe au lait. The salmon was seasoned just right (I believe a hint of lemon) and grilled perfectly where the fish was not dry at all. The almonds and mandarin oranges went great with the ginger dressing. I love how the dressing comes on the side so you can adjust how much dressing you want on your salad. The portion was perfect. Cafe au lait was good as well (normal)! This may be very minor but when I ordered water to go, the water was chilled so cold!!! Normally restaurants put room temperature water in to a cup of ice but this place....even the water was so yummy!!! I dream about their salmon salad in my dreams...definitely need to try the other foods on their menu.

Yelp
It's okay and cute but it's more a diner that's not very good. They had pastries like cinnamon rolls and slices of King Cake.I got a piece of King Cake, an Americano with tiramisu syrup and a piece of sausage. The sausage was a pre-cooked patty and wasn't even hot. The King Cake had obviously been cut days ago and was dried out. The Americano was the only thing worthwhile for my $15+ abs I didn't taste the tiramisu syrup.

I love to go Saturday Morning , I like the atmosphere and the menu for breakfast is great and healthy. The service is always great !

Yelp
ONLY COFFEE REVIEW: So first visit here and it is a spacious cafe that offers a lot of room for dining or having some coffee with co-workers. Did NOT look at the food menu but I did see some daily specials which is always nice. They do have an assortment of baked good. Muffins, cakes, cookies, etc. The COFFEE: Now I'm a coffee junkie and travel all over trying different strengths, blends, brews, etc of coffee. This place has a nice option. It's simple and hits the spot. However two large lattes were a little expensive (IMO) $17+ with tax. The lattes were okay. Tried the Pumpkin Spice and the Banana Fosters. Both were okay. Average is about right on the rated. Remember this is only coffee related. The food could be amazing or.... just whatever. Idk. All in all. Not bad. If I were to come back I would probably ask the prices prior to ordering.

Marcia D.

Yelp
Coffee Bean is close to our house, and a favorite place for nearby lunch. They have a good assortment of light meals. The salads, soups, sandwiches and wraps are very good. The owners are friendly and professional. We recommend the Coffee Bean.

Yelp
I guess you could say I was disappointed by this cafe. I'm not sure why I expected it to be different, but they stop selling breakfast at 10:30. Apparently I wasn't the only patron confused, as two other parties left after finding out they couldn't get an omelet. We, however, decided to stay and get some burgers. They were fine burgers, I suppose- similar to something I'd make at home. There wasn't anything special about them, despite some unusual ingredients. Be warned, the "chili burger" doesn't include chili, but chili pepper sauce. The fries were straight out of the freezer section. The woman behind the counter seemed bothered that we'd deigned to order food. I wouldn't call her polite or friendly. The wait to get the food was a bit long, but I chalked that up to freshly prepared burger patties.

Yelp
My husband and I moved to this part of town about a year ago and I've been on the prowl for my local "coffee spot". I think I've found it. Typically I have to go with an espresso drink to get the level of flavor and strength that I look for in my coffee but I took a swing at the cafe au lait and was delighted. They steam the milk in the espresso machine and the coffee has a bold, rich flavor that's reminiscent of my mom's hand drip. They have a broad lunch menu that seems to draw a healthy lunch crowd. I sprung for the BLT which is served on their rosemary ciabatta and is simple, yet delicious. They also serve burgers, salads and an array of other options that I didn't even have time to explore. I can't wait to come back to try breakfast and the array of pastries and baked goods that they offer. The atmosphere is friendly and unassuming. It isn't particularly quiet (if you're looking for a coffee shop to study in) but it's full of friends, laughter and chatter. It's definitely family friendly. Clearly I've tapped into a gem because the line has begun to back up toward the door. I'd definitely recommend this little pearl. If only I could move it even closer to my home!

Graham S.

Yelp
Food and service are awesome! The BLT and Caribbean Jerk Chicken Salad are my two standards.

Yelp
5 stars every time I go. Great food and coffee and friendly service. I have eaten breakfast and lunch there on multiple occasions and have never been disappointed. The food is always fresh and good. It's always nice when you walk in and are treated with a smile and conversation.

Yelp
Sad spent 14$ on shrimp and fish plate look at it and they serve catfish nugget u get one piece .

Yelp
Found this joint on our way to Florida and was very much looking forward to breakfast but we were 3 min late and had to eat lunch at 10:30 am. To me that's still breakfast time; atleast they should serve breakfast starting at 11am. I ordered a veggie burger; happy this was even an option and it was fine. I give the burger and fries a 3.

Yelp
A friend suggested to have breakfast at the Coffee Bean Cafe. I am glad she introduced me to this place. The minute I entered I fell in love with it. The interior is very nice and the staff is very friendly. There is an awesome variety on the menu to choose from and a lot of pastries. Too bad they close at 3pm. We both enjoyed our breakfast and decided next time to bring some more friends with us. I will definitely go back for breakfast.
google avatar

Conley B.

Yelp
This was my first time for breakfast. Usually their lunch items are very good. The breakfast today was mediocre. I ordered the biscuit with egg and cheese and it came out lukewarm. The fruit was old and soggy and just not appetizing really. Coffee was decent. Grits and hash browns were good I love the atmosphere and location.

Erica L.

Yelp
I ordered food and they told me it would be done in 30 minutes. I go in 30 minutes later and I wait another 20 plus minutes on my food. Every time I have gotten food from here it is the longest wait and the price changes on the food every time I have ordered. There is only 1 person that works the register, brings food out, and takes to go orders. I really think they would do so much better with another worker. The food is alright.
google avatar

Brittany B.

Yelp
I love this place. I went here today to eat lunch & I was so impressed that I wish they stayed open for dinner because I would love to get food to go. I had the chicken feta wrap without bacon & tomatoes. Seriously I loved it. My friend got the fire in the whole chicken sandwich --- we split our meals so we could try both. I loved both of them equally. I now would like to try everything on their menu. Sweet potato fries are thick & not greasy at all. Their home made chips are delicious. Also I picked up a box of Girl Scout cookies up front. Best place ever. Everything was so fresh & mostly healthy!
google avatar

Jason J.

Yelp
Wow!!! The grilled turkey sausage is so good. I haven't been here for breakfast in so long I forgot about them. Not so much now because I'm sold. Are they the best? No. Are they solid? Yes. Good service too...I'm not giving my money to restaurant who don't have good services anymore.

Yelp
Finding a breakfast cafe in Baton Rouge has not always been the easiest task, especially if one wants to stay away from chain restaurants. Today, we needed to find a place to meet some friends for breakfast, so I suggested the Coffee Bean & Cafe, which I have passed many times in a past, but always forget to visit it! Finally, we had a reason to go. The cafe was very warm and inviting upon entering. We were greeted with such kindness and were not rushed while we ordered. My husband and I ordered the veggie & cheese omelette (w/ wheat toast), the 2 eggs over-easy with wheat toast and the soy-milk Sweetie Pie Mocha (drink special). The service was fast and eggs tasted great! A great atmosphere for small, casual business meeting and a perfect place a little hang time!
google avatar

Sarah B.

Yelp
Love this place for a quick lunch break! I tend to lean towards the Chicken Caesar Wrap I come here because it's sooooooo good. I love how they give you pita chips as a "healthier" side option. The service is really quick, and the food always turns out great. The dessert options in the front are so tempting, but if you do give in to the temptation, you won't regret it!
google avatar

Korey K.

Yelp
Great food and great service! I had the Turkey, Swiss, and Avocado Omelette and it was loaded! My wife had the Belgian Waffle breakfast and it was light and fluffy with a flavor that didn't require syrup. She also got a Banana's Foster coffee drink which had a spot on flavor. Definitely worth the visit
google avatar

Yelp
Very passable cappuccino. The cinnamon roll french toast is wonderful. The service was very courteous. I will be back.

Yelp
Handcrafted coffee drinks set in a quaint location that's literally hidden in my plain sight on Coursey Blvd. service is prompt and the conversations with the locals/regulars is always on point. Outdoor seating is perfect for watching cars pass. Sets a great time for the day...
google avatar

Yelp
Decent coffee. Real attraction is the amazing selection of omelettes. Can get a little busy.
google avatar

Imari H.

Yelp
The food here is amazing but when the owner is behind the counter you can tell she chooses what price she wants to give you. I get the same thing every time I come and it's never the same price
google avatar

Siobhan L.

Yelp
This restaurant feels more like a coffee shop that decided one day to serve food. We ate breakfast there and the food was mediocre. My husband's "pancakes with strawberry topping" was literally a few thin pancakes with strawberry jam on top. My breakfast sandwich was extremely greasy and covered in American cheese. The coffee was good - strong but not bitter - but it was $2.25 for a very small cup and .75 cents for a refill! I don't think I've ever been charged for a refill on a cup of coffee at a restaurant. The service was TERRIBLE. They weren't very busy but they still seemed extremely understaffed. They told us 20 minutes after we ordered that they didn't have any more biscuits. We asked for a croissant instead and they said no (even though there were a bunch of croissants visible). The best part was that our server was actually talking on a portable phone when she brought out our food. I can honestly say that has never happened to me before and it was so ridiculous that it was funny.
google avatar

Nicole N.

Yelp
Love this place! Only con is that it's so busy around lunchtime that it takes forever to get your food. But it's so worth the wait! The staff are very friendly and work as fast as they can. I've never ordered anything that I wasn't completely satisfied with. Everything is cooked to perfection. Today, I ordered the "fire in the hole chicken sandwich" because the name caught my eyes. I LOVE spicy foods. The sandwich is dressed perfectly and so moist and juicy. There's a little kick but nothing you can't handle. I recommend it! I also ordered the "Napa chicken salad" to munch on later, and it just looks so colorful and tasty! Can't wait to dig in!

Yelp
I gave them a 4* review based on our first trip. Our second trip was outta sight. No downsides whatsoever. 3 entrees all perfect. Best red pepper with gouda soup ever and wife makes a killer version. Great Napa Salads, friendly manager, super desserts (and a good selection to choose from) and, of course, great coffee. This is now one of our favorite spots to visit in big BR and, for my money, as good a place to chow down for b'fast or lunch as the more heralded places in town.
google avatar

Samuel S.

Yelp
Bacon was burnt, not crispy, toast was soggy, fried eggs returned because they got order wrong....over medium was order, arrived over hard. When replaced, one was medium the other almost hard. Hash browns burnt-tinged, not nicely golden. Save your money.
google avatar

Ron M.

Yelp
Very good place to get a coffee and breakfast. Brought the family here on Saturday morning and got a few omelets and breakfast biscuits. It's a very laid back place with a relaxing vibe, not too loud or busy. I got a spiced pumpkin latte.... mmmmm. Loved it. The food was good. I admit I am not a huge breakfast eater, but, this was a very good omelet. The lady making the coffee was very. I've and made some good recommendations of things to try. I will definitely come back again

Yelp
I took my wife here for the beginning of our anniversary day-date as she loves local independent coffee shops, and we were excited to try out one so close to our home. Initially impressed with the building--a nice layout, obviously set up to be busy. We took a look at the menu and were hopeful--but that's where things took a turn. Upon ordering our lattes, I watched my wife's face drop as the barista proceeded to let the espresso shots sit on the counter--"burning" them down to the bitters. She had to explain to me the science of it--but the proof was in the taste. Bitter and less-than-unimpressive. I might as well have taken her to any run-of-the-mill gas station for better coffee. Then came breakfast... sweet potato pancakes (which were obviously frozen and reheated in a microwave.) My seven-year-old can make and cook pancakes at home--why would I go to a restaurant to have microwaved food? Verdict: not coming here again.

Yelp
We went here for a Saturday breakfast. Ordered cappuccinos. The bean was slightly bitter and the aftertaste wasn't pleasing either. I liked the service and quantity though. Since we went vegan at the time, had a cheese sandwich and some fruit. The sandwich was just ok, nothing great. I can make abetter ones at home but the fruits were fresh. Inside ambience is good but outside it's very unorganized and looked like an abandoned place. The surroundings were good either. I will rather go to Starbucks for better coffee and ambience though food options may be limited.
