This place has big importance in my life. I live close by and whenever I want to feel better I go to bru. It’s my second home with best cakes and coffee. Hope it’ll stay in our lives forever and never change. The community - is amazing. Best people go here with their pets and kids and all so respectful, lovely and artsy. I don’t know if such thing exists but this place is my emotional support coffee shop. I go here for three years and now hearing Koen will leave I got a bit emotional and noticed I never shared my feelings with you Coffee Bru. Everyone in this community, you should know, you have a special place in my heart 🥹❤️

Delicious coffee, really tasty. I have ordered a flat white and a rose leaf loaf. Really happy with my choices, the loaf was soft and had an intense flavour. The coffee was strong but at the same time was sweet, not bitter at all. Great place for an amazing coffee.

Great white chocolate sesame loaf! This was a unique bake for me that I definitely haven’t seen before. While it may not sound particularly groundbreaking, the loaf was a good texture and the icing was wonderful. The taste of white chocolate truly does come through, and the cut of the slightly less sweet loaf works perfectly to balance this out.

The coffee was one of the best i’ve had in Amsterdam. The banana cake and lemon cake was very good too, they were moist and tasty. They were homemade and tasted that way as well :) A good cafe to study, as well as to go with friends or on your own. Prices were average. Definitely would go again. <3

Good selection of delicious snacks - the red velvet cake and cranberry brownie is yummy! They are both super soft. The WiFi is great and space is cozy.

Great coffee. Got the Ethiopia pour over and also tried a Brazilian espresso. Amazing host, service, and environment.

Delicious apple pastry and latte. Friendly staff with nice outdoor seating. Recommend this as a coffee and bakery stop for a quick morning bite

I love this place...! Wonderful coffee, yummy treats, cool people, attentive staff... That's the short of it. Yesterday the guy who already knows that I have a sweet tooth recommended the chocolate fudge cheesecake... Divinely deliciously sinfully yummy! They also have sandwiches during lunch time but most of it is sweet. The coffee is perfect - they do double shots in a bigger cup for take out. Most of the time you'll find a spot to sit but it can get busy on weekends. During the week it's also a nice place to come and work. And in the summer they have a lovely outside space on Beukerplein to sit and chat and people watch.

The last time I was here was 5 years ago and they have only made improvements. They have a friendly English speaking staff that is happy to help with recommendations and any questions. I ordered an iced latte with oat milk and while it was tasty, I think it would have been better with real milk. I also are an apricot loaf which was dense and fresh tasting.

I completely loved this place! My Dutchman toke me here this morning and I just adored every bit of it! An undiscovered gem of a coffee house, situated on a quieter end of the east side of Amsterdam. Talk about good price but high quality. Providing sweet indulgence pastries and the best personal blends of tea and Italian quality coffee. Offers custom made pastries, breakfast and lunch. It's one of the best looking coffee shops out there. If your looking for a place to have a great cup of tea or coffee, then this is truly the ideal place to go with your family or friends.

Didn't read the reviews when I first visited the place but Guess what, I ordered a flat white! The coffee tastes was indeed unique, and u can immediately recognise it. Glad to find a work place! But they close at 5p during weekdays......

The sunny days in Amsterdam are so nice. It is a small place, with three workers. The sunny outside seating was basically full from 9.00 when we arrived. And there is a long line for ordering. They only take order from the counter. But the inside was empty when we arrived. I guess everyone wants to find a sunny place in this weather. Wish it last till Nov. Importantly, they have good wifi and the password was just on the blackboard. That was really considerate. We brought our laptops for some work. Others were most just chilling out. I guess I would be back often to read or write something on the weekend. Glad I found it!

Used to be a great coffee place. Recently, they did a reconstruction, but if you ask me, the place hasn't improved. They could do with some art on the wall (feels rather chilly). Also, the coffee isn't as spectacular as it used to be and, due to intense popularity, the service seems a bit reluctant at times as well. I recently went in for a coffee and a cake and after getting a lukewarm Americano, I went back to ask for another. I was told that I could get another, but it would still be lukewarm as that is the way the machine is set.. I have no clue who came up with this, but there is just no excuse for cold coffee. I sipped my girlfriends cappucino to check, and that was lukewarm as well (although the technique was very good). Safe to say, it's important to remember that in the Amsterdam coffee bar market, there is no space for error and cold coffee. I hope they fix this, as I do really love this place.

Really cute coffee bar/brewer in Oost. I am a fan of this area, big fan, so having a coffee bar with outdoor seating (plenty of it) and a nice friendly staff is a total plus. The coffee is delicious. Their juice smoothies are great. AND they have a fine selection of a few baked goods (vegan too!). The interior is nothing special but it's cozy and comfortable so that's great. I can't wait to go back, drink a cappuccino in the sunshine and soak in the cool of Oost.

3.5 stars. Good flat white, nice space with cool art on the wall, and a big communal table in the back if you need to get some work done.

One of my fav specialty coffee place, re-decorated few months ago. Clean design, where only coffee and well being matters.

I really like this little cafe. They make the best flat white, that I had in Amsterdam, and I have been around a quite a few of Amsterdam's better coffee places. The flat white had strong chocolate/coffee notes, a mild bitterness and a bit acidity. Very good and only rivaled by a few other places I've been to. The cafe attracts a very varied mix of people. Some clearly come to work, others to have a cup of coffee while their children play in the corner, and others bring their dogs along. It's all a bit noisy, but with a lovely small town feel, only enhanced by the staff that clearly recognise people and remember their preferences, including ours on our second visit.

Super aesthetically pleasing cafe in Amsterdam Oost. Had an iced latte where I could actually taste the espresso and the toasted banana bread, which was delicious, not too sweet, and generous. Even though the inside is small it's still very comfortable.

Coffee Bru definitely is one of my favourite coffee places in Amsterdam! Why? Most importantly: the coffees are great and each one is treated as a piece of art. While you are getting a coffee, you should also try one of their delicious cookies or cakes, it won't be disappointing! Besides that it has a really nice and relaxing atmosphere, the staff is always very friendly and they love kids too (in the back you'll find a child chair).

This place has got to have the best coffee I've had yet in Amsterdam and well worth the trek to the east. Coffee is great and I tried their koekjes which were very more-ish! Nice atmosphere although more outdoor seating would be great in warmer weather (does that happen?). They've got a nice back room with a (slightly neglected) living wall of plants and friendly staff. LOVE it!

This place is super cute! It's a hidden gem in a rather nondescript area south of Oosterpark. I opted for an ice latte and was surprised to see that it was served in a small glass and I thought it tasted a bit peculiar, same with a regular double espresso. The board was colourfully coloured with all of the different types of coffees they have here, which are all single origin and perhaps why the strong espresso tastes were unfamiliar to me. I also picked up a super caramelly brownie that was so insanely delicious that coherently conveying how good it was is simply out of the question. Try banging your fingers on the keyboard of your laptop and then add several exclamation points. It's small, quiet, has outdoor seating, and free wifi. The back wall is covered in plants on the inside, giving it a really cozy, chic feel. I'll definitely be back, even if it is just for that brownie, mmm.

I absolutely LOVE this place. I come here to study or do work very often. It is a really nice space with plenty of natural light and a great vibe. Their music choice is always on point and the staff are very sweet. Their flat whites are fantastic and all the pastries and cakes I've tried here have been delicious. The prices are very reasonable and absolutely worth it. 100% recommend!

Stopped in here for a coffee the other day due to the outstanding reviews on Yelp. This place has alot of outdoor seating, which was super nice on the sunny day that I visited it and the servers were very friendly. However, I did not think that the coffee was that great (3* in my mind); the hubby and I each had iced lattes, so maybe it was just our beverage selection that did not shine. With all of the other outstanding coffee places in Amsterdam, I'm not sure if I'll return.

Lovely single source brews! Very friendly service, a loyalty reward program, and a lovely back room with a well tended plant wall.

The main reason to go here is for its great coffees and even better cakes: they really are outstanding. Sadly, they are a bit let down by the limited and staid food selection. Too bad, really.

While in Amsterdam I was lucky enough to have this place not fair from my hotel. A great coffee shop with had a good selection of coffee and food. This place has a good atmosphere, nice a chilled out and a great place to grab a good cup of coffee and some breakfast. I personal love the plant wall they have in here.

This reminded me of any independently owned coffee shop in any college town in America: very "indy" vibe. Nice interior with a skylight. The coffee was first class!

nice little suburban neighborhood coffee shop. all locals, a little hard to snag a seat. if you're in the area, they have good coffee. I especially appreciated the drip coffee which is less common in Amsterdam!
