First time at the Coffee Bureau! The baristas were awesome. They made my morning. Super friendly and accommodating. I always wanted to try their St Viateur Montreal bagels. Their sesame bagel was amazing. You have to come visit here!

Stopped by on a whim and loved my experience. Positives: - staff was very warm and greeted me as soon as I walked in - coffee was great! Got a vanilla latte and highly recommend! - cheese danish was delicious - very cute location - prices are reasonable I highly recommend you check out Coffee Bureau.

Google
Adorable little coffee shop! The atmosphere was comfy and the staff are welcoming and down to earth. I enjoyed a cappuccino with a cute design on it, and had a look at their dried fruit for sale while waiting ( which wasn't long they were very quick) they have a little coffee bar so you can add your prefered sugar and milk! It's lovely place to grab a quick coffee or enjoy a snack and sit for a while, definitely will go again!

The best place to get a mocha and you should try ginger cookie. 🍪 great coffee great people.

I recently visited Coffee Bruneau on a Sunday morning and had a rather mixed experience. While the coffee itself was pretty good, my interaction with the staff left much to be desired. The man working that morning was extremely rude and pretentious. He was very dismissive, passive-aggressive, and condescending, speaking to me as if I were an idiot. To make matters worse, he was on his phone while making drinks, clearly distracted. At one point, he even laid his phone on one of the machines he was using, which is extremely unsanitary. I have circled the spot in a picture below where he placed his phone, though I was too uncomfortable to take a picture at the time due to his behavior. Overall, the quality of the coffee doesn't make up for the poor service I received. I hope the management addresses this issue to ensure a better experience for future customers.

First time here and was amazed! The staff greeted us so kindly and recommended some amazing treats! We had vanilla iced lattes, soft serve ice creams with fresh brewed espresso on top, and to die for chocolate croissants. We went back in to get chocolate peanut butter rice crispy swirls. Everything was delicious! I will absolutely be coming back again and again!

Google
Best Coffee shop in the downtown area. Incredibly friendly, knowledgeable staff who take enormous pride in their product and service. If you’re looking for a delicious pick-me-up, don’t hesitate to visit.

Yelp
We tried this coffee shop based on Yelp reviews. Not knowing anything about it, we were hoping for a place to sit and enjoy our coffee. Unfortunately there is not, it's very small. However, it's worth the stop to grab to go. Coffee was good, muffins were great, staff was friendly.

Yelp
Went there for a coffee break from work. I like their decorations and plants around the shop. I would def be back to sit down, although there is not too many tables to sit at. The coffee itself was great; the price was good for a coffee shop down town. I would also try some of the treats or food they have. Lots of light because of the large window. I will be back for sure.

Yelp
I've been coming here almost weekly since I was introduced to this place through a Yelp Event. I spent 6 years living in Montreal and there is so much to love about that city. Montreal is famous for its steak spice, smoked meat, party scene, and bagels. Coffee Bureau imports those bagels weekly and serves them up or sells them in the half dozen. Of course shipping costs and profit margins raise the cost for the bagels significantly but that's the cost of doing business. Their coffee prices are more in line with the standard prices and they make a good espresso. They use a solid locally roasted bean with Ace Coffee Roasters and know how to extract the flavour. The staff are friendly and attentive yet do not rush the process to make a great drink for your morning or afternoon. They service the downtown crowd so they close at 3pm daily. Come down and order a coffee and a toasted bagel with cream cheese an you might end up coming back more often, just like me!

Yelp
This place is very convenient to where I work (and just a block from Corona LRT station) so I feel like an idiot that I hadn't been there before this week, but since I don't drink coffee, I don't tend to go into coffee shops often. However! I did stop by this week and picked up a chai tea and a genuine imported Montreal bagel, and a croissant too. The place is super cute inside, very retro kitschy, but with room for all sorts of goodies you can take away too - bags of coffee beans and baked goods yes, but also some locally made greeting cards and other odds and ends. Outside there's plenty of sidewalk seating in nicer weather. The staff behind the counter were friendly and helpful and very nice to me although I openly admitted to not being a coffee drinker! Would definitely drop by again, maybe next time I'm craving a nice chewy bagel, maybe for some of their other baked goods which looked pretty epic.

Yelp
It's just OK. I've been here twice. Each time I had a decaf Americano and a toasted bagel. Once with butter and this last time with cream cheese. The bagels are tasteless. Maybe frozen a while? The Americano is average. There is no wait time. They don't accept cash. No dine in. No washroom. I will probably go again because of the location. Maybe I'll try a different snack. There are a few to choose from. The muffins look good.
google avatar

Yelp
I had a great visit to Coffee Bureau! Delicious coffee, a bagel and pumpkin pie tart. They sell Montreal bagels (St-Viateur), which is great for those who like that style of bagel (they're my preference, for sure). I think the star was the pumpkin tart which seemed to have a whole wheat pastry crust. Staff were friendly and helpful, and it's a great little spot to grab a snack for those who work downtown.

Yelp
Coffee Bureau is one of the best coffee shops in the city and I say this as someone who doesn't really drink coffee (not by choice unfortunately!) While I can't review their coffee, they do make an excellent London fog. They use one of my favourite tea brands (Smith teas) and unlike the fogs you get at most places, it isn't overly sweet. They find a perfect balance. They also have a super tempting selection of baked goods. I don't think I've ever been able to resist. As good as their drinks and baked goods are, the real highlight of Coffee Bureau is their customer service. All of their staff are friendly and welcoming. Skip the big chains and run to Coffee Bureau. You won't regret it!

Yelp
This is probably my favourite coffee shop in town. I always get an Americano with a cranberry scone. The espresso here is just the right flavour for me, it is crisp and bright. The cranberry scone is lightly sweet and always fresh-baked. For me a scone is a good combination with a good coffee. So yep, if you are around downtown Edmonton, you should definitely swing by and grab a coffee!
google avatar

Janene K.

Yelp
Went here for a morning coffee as all the reviews are amazing! Great people working there very Friendly and chilled. As for the coffee...only one bean-house blend. My Americano tasted water downed, no body or flavour. Drip coffee about the same. If there was an option for a stronger bean this place would cover all your coffee needs!

Yelp
I've been meaning to drop by this place for awhile now but haven't had a chance because it's usually closed when I'm in this part of town. I'm not particularly fancy when it comes to coffee, no sweet syrups, whipped cream or drizzles on top when it comes to my preferences. Just give me an americano misto or latte and I'm set. With that said, the oat milk latte I ordered was probably the lightest and smoothest I've had in the city and like many others have said, there's no bitterness, burnt taste or all the other negatives that can come from coffee made at non-ideal temperatures. This isn't a place I'd probably sit down and drink coffee at because I'm not much for people watching and the space is quite small, although you can sit by the window and watch the comings and goings of people on Jasper street if that's what you're into. Even though it's small, the simple decor gives the space a feeling of coziness and warmth, which is a nice way to spend five minutes waiting to grab your coffee to go. Also, if you're looking for fancy coffee making contraptions, there's a reasonably wide variety sold here if you'd rather buy from a local vendor. If I am ever able to stop by while this shop is open, I'll definitely be back again.

Yelp
I avoid chain coffee places if I can. I want good coffee, available in a cup that's not the size of a vase and not over $5. It's coffee! Walking down Jasper Ave I couldn't help notice the sandwich board with cute coffee slogan calling me in. They have lined up light blue chairs outside, and it looks like an image from Pinterest. I'm obsessed. The large front window shows the small coffee pit stop has just enough room inside for a line up by the coffee machine and a few chairs. The man and woman working both looked happy and made chit chat with out being in your face. It was made quickly and handed to me along with a 'have a nice day'. It's cute, it's inviting, it's got great coffee and lovely service. Win!

Yelp
Coffee Bureau in Edmonton is a nice little coffee shop. Went there 2 times while I was just in Edmonton. The straight up black drip coffee was very good. I love local owned coffee shops so much better than these corporate ones. Well if your in Edmonton I can highly recommend this spot! Awesome coffee

Yelp
Travelling through. Nice friendly people and chat with their regular patrons. Clean. I like my flat white a bit stronger but overall I would return.

Yelp
Best cold brew ever! The place is very small, so it's mostly to-go, but if you're lucky enough to get a seat, it's a great place to work on your laptop, read, or meet a friend. When the weather is good, there are several chairs in front, to sit on the Jasper Avenue sidewalk. I will be back!
google avatar

Bernice G.

Yelp
I love this coffee place! I usually come here once a week on my way to work to grab an americano. This establishment is owned by a lovely couple. Anytime that I have stopped by, they have been most gracious and very personable. The space is smaller with limited seating but I think it works in this situation. I always feel like I am stopping in at a friend's or neighbor's place to have a little visit and get my coffee fix before going to work. The coffee is great. The baked goods that they serve are also delicious. And the service is wonderful. If you are looking for something unique in a coffee place, this is the place to go!
google avatar

Neela H.

Yelp
Sometimes, I feel like you can't trust a place with only five star reviews. There has to be a catch, right? Not here. We've been making the coffee rounds on our trip to Edmonton and this is simply the best coffee we have had here. Brilliant.
google avatar

Vicki M.

Yelp
5 stars for superb and friendly customer service! Disclaimer: I came here for the first time on Saturday and was with a friend who comes here regularly, so I was introduced to the cute couple who owns this place and they were both super nice! I don't drink coffee so unfortunately I can't comment on it, however I did order a chai latte with soy milk (no almond milk was available this time), but it was well prepared and complete with foam art on top. The space is small and simple and perfectly cozy. I would definitely recommend this place to those who are looking for something different than the regular coffee chains.
google avatar

Yelp
I heard about this place in an article online about the downtown trend of indie coffee places in Edmonton, and so I thought I would check it out that same afternoon for lunch. I grabbed a large regular coffee from the ridiculously nice barista, and then discovered that I had just found the best coffee I have tasted yet!! I LOVE it, and I will be back for more coffee and perhaps some of their baked goods too! It's a bit small, but Coffee Bureau is a cool little spot for coffee lovers in the downtown area! I just wish they had bigger cups, because I need more!!
google avatar

Yelp
You know, downtown Yeggers are so lucky to have so many great coffee shops. You can't throw a stone without hitting one, and the Coffee Bureau is a very welcomed addition! I had to go twice before I could leave a review, because I'm so dedicated to a competitor, I wanted to make sure that doesn't overshadow my review! The lattes are very nice at Coffee Bureau. I'm not a coffee connoisseur and I don't pretend to be, but it was just a nice smooth flavour. It's just different than the other local shops I frequent. But I guess they are all unique. Coffee Bureau uses a locally roasted bean, from ACE. They have a nice selection of pastries, my fave being the chocolate cream cheese "muffin" (let's be honest, it's a cupcake with the icing on the inside). The place itself is beautiful. Seriously a gorgeously decorated place. I could just stare at the Douglas fir ceilings all morning! They have adorable little built in tables that are almost more of a side table, which is all you need for your cup of coffee. I also adore the window bar, which looks perfect for people watching. It is a tight space for sure, but it's right on Jasper Ave so it's perfectly convenient to grab a cup and venture around the area. Overall, I'm thrilled for the emerging coffee scene in downtown YEG.

Vee V.

Yelp
One of the few coffee shops in Edmonton where everything is great, lattes cappuccinos espressos and all treats are fantastic. The service is great too, with most servers usually super friendly and provide a local feel. The interior is not too large and has few spaces to sit but feels cozy and the bar chairs are perfect for sipping your drink and people Watching. The place has a certain charm to it which is hard to describe, and I really enjoy coming here as the experience rarely disappoints. Prices are sort of high but on par with similar shops in the local area.

Yelp
Edmonton's newest cafe, Coffee Bureau, is sure to be a hit in the downtown core. How do I know this? Because it was a cup that didn't make me reach for more sugar in a long time. Because it tasted delicious. If you're a coffee connoisseur or a simple latte drinker like me, read on! Coffee Bureau officially opened its doors yesterday morning, welcoming Edmontonians to take a break. It's located on Jasper Avenue and 105 St, commanding the space in the Jasper Dental Building (that's where my cousin practices!). Driving to the shop would be disastrous, it's main targeted consumer on-the-go from and to work and take out lunches. Being a recent resident of the downtown core has it's perks though, it's only a block away for me. Score. Tables and countertops have yet to be installed to complete the space but they are open, Monday to Friday 7am - 5pm and Saturdays, and ready to serve you some spectacular coffee and baked goods. Once they ease into things, they also hope to make some simple panini sandwiches for lunch. When I say "they" and I mean Kris and Peter, the cute couple behind the counter! Peter hopes to hire staff soon to keep up with the pace, deserving some time off of hard work I'm sure. Having worked for Leva and other cafés, including Toronto's Darkhorse, brewing coffee and its culture is not new to him. Coming here all the way from Brazil, the irony isn't lost that Kris, a dentist by trade, is now serving up the brew in a dental building no less and is always smiling! As coffee enthusiasts, a typical vacation or trip for Kris and Peter includes visits to 4 or 5 coffee shops at the least. In the last five years, a lot of coffee shops have been offering a more acidic coffee. Bored of this style, Coffee Bureau sought out ACE Coffee Roasters, owned by the folks who bring us Leva and Caffe Tech Canada. The local roasters offer something completely different: a smooth, well-balanced blend with beans originating from Columbia, Brazil, and Ethiopia. Coffee Bureau is the first to serve ACE Coffee, and the under-construction Alder Room, late 2015, also have plans to feature the blend. Joe and I loved our lattes from the soft opening over the long weekend, taking our drinks to the river valley to enjoy the sun. And while I'm no coffee expert (I hope to change that with YEG Coffee Week coming up!), I could tell that this cup was quite different from any of the roasts Edmonton has to offer. I always find myself reaching for sugar every time I order a latte that isn't from the sugar-laden Starbucks. This cup though, perfect. And definitely a good break. So if you're anywhere on the spectrum of "I don't drink coffee" to "I can tell you where the beans are from", check out Coffee Bureau! I look forward to the days when I run out of Nespresso capsules (happens more often than you think...) and grabbing a smooth-tasting latte!

Yelp
Looked on yelp for a place to get coffee and this was first on the list. It didn't disappoint. Good strong cuppa joe and a nice place to sit outside and enjoy the morning. There isn't a whole lot of seating space inside, but I didn't need it today with the nice weather. I'll definitely be back.

Patti A.

Yelp
Coffee Bureau was a great place when it first opened but the few times I have stopped in the past year I have been disappointed. The cappuccino was not hot and the staff were only interested in their regular customers. It was unique and a great place when it first opened but there are now so many other coffee bars to choose from I doubt I will be back.
google avatar

Ailynn S.

Yelp
Keep in mind I'm no connesuir of coffee: BUT the coffee was fantastic! I don't drink a lot of coffee as it is, but when I want a cup, I find myself contemplating driving downtown for friggen cup. So, yah thumbs way up! Go try it. Small diggs, which I like. You don't have to linger, you can take your coffee and enjoy it outside ;) A friend of theirs also makes these delicious butter tarts...which I will be making at home from now on because for $4 a pop they are pretty small. Super delicious, painfully sweet but too small for $4. That shouldn't stop you from trying it once though. Yummmm!
google avatar

Yelp
The hot chocolate is my favourite in the whole city!! And the custard donuts are to die for! Thanks for the great service
google avatar

Yelp
CodyD and myself here now getting honey and Americano. CodyD did not have honey in his however, and had never had a good coffeehouse drink. He did like the Americano however. May have converted someone here!!

Yelp
Just stopped by to grab a iced latte before getting to my morning classes. if i could, i would add 7 stars to this review.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place, it's a little hole in the wall coffee spot. Although small this place is mighty, the baristas are very friendly & the coffee is always top notch. By far one of my favourite places, because never miss or mess up an order. As an added bonus you never have to wait long for your coffee. It never seems to be too out the door line busy for coffee that is on par with price for Starbucks & above the quality. I love the little art they feature, which they have on rotation to keep things fresh. The only reason I didn't rate 5 stars was because there is no wifi here. They don't give out the passcode which is only inconvenient which doesn't make it a good study spot (lack of wifi & space, limited spots to sit). But I can't complain much considering I am always happy with my coffee & service.
google avatar

Ali G.

Yelp
I had a great experience here recently when I met a friend for a chat. Yes this location is tiny and very busy but my chai tea latte was delicious, included nice foam art and was in a good sized glass. I was quite pleased. This place has a clean aesthetic, is busy and has some delectable looking pastries in the case. I will definitely return here for more delicious drinks and chats with friends.
google avatar

Vince V.

Yelp
Very cute, quaint cafe! The croissants are nice and fluffy and the coffee is always consistent. Do note that there is not much sitting space, so keep that in mind if you're travelling with a group. In which case, to-go option is always good :)
google avatar

Paige B.

Yelp
This place has some of the best espresso on Jasper. Beware there isn't much seating, but that doesn't matter because I take my cup of joe back to the office. If you're sick and tired of bitter espresso, make the visit to Coffee Bureau for a smooth latte or Americano!
google avatar

AOla T.

Yelp
First time and won't be the last. Do visit. This place has amazing coffee!!! Great service!
google avatar

Gary O.

Yelp
Amazing coffee, great atmosphere! Staff are very friendly, and attentive. The Barista remembered my drink from the day before, and it was only my second trip in. Very small, but that sort of adds to the atmosphere. They really have optimized every square foot they could for seating, and it is very comfortable. Planning on becoming a regular for sure. Gary

Chris J.

Yelp
With all of the new independent coffee shops opening up in Edmonton recently it feels like we are beginning to be the new Seattle (of course with a Starbucks on every corner as well). Coffee Bureau recently opened up in a tiny location right on Jasper Ave. So far every drink I've had from there has been a hit whether it was a latte, mocha or one of their cold drinks. As a bonus they sell delicious scones, muffins, etc. The owners work in the shop itself and are super friendly. They make an honest effort to get to know the people who go there on a regular basis. Amazing customer service! The location itself is tiny so not a great place to sit around and slowly sip your coffee. But if you're lucky you can grab a seat and people watch as they walk along Jasper Ave. I must go to place for any coffee fans in the city!
google avatar

John S.

Yelp
I make no secret that the coffee monkey on my back is from Seattle, but with all the options now hitting the downtown core, it would be a shame not to branch out and try some of the more independent locations. Walking down Jasper, I was surprised to find this new coffee shop - but then again, I guess it just opened and I'm not too tuned into the coffee scene here in e-town. It's a small set-up made for getting your coffee fix and a pastry as well. There are a couple of spots to sit, but I think foot traffic is the real target market. Keeping it simple is what works for the Coffee Bureau. You go in and get your fix to stroll and away you go - it works. As for the coffee, it is delicious. Like I said, I'm good with the 'bucks, but spoiling myself with a GREAT cup of coffee is something I like to do when I get the chance. Pipin' hot, flavourful and not-too-expensive - what you want from your cup o' joe. As for the pastries, I did sample the Chocolate Cheesecake muffin and it was soooo good. I don't know where they get their baked goods from (I don't think they are made in-house, but I could be wrong) but this muffin complimented my cup-to-go perfectly. If you work in the area and want to try something new on your break, I'd recommend Coffee Bureau.
google avatar

Robert M.

Yelp
Best coffee I've had in Canada so far. Seriously smooth and creamy. Thanks so much guys. You've done an amazing job. If you know your coffee then you have to try this place. They know what they are doing. I ordered a latte and my wife had a cappuccino. Both were really amazing although I think the cappuccino was really stand out. I'm from Melbourne, Australia and the lattes in North America generally seem to be very milky compared to what I'm used too so I'm perhaps not a good judge for a Canadian latte, however it was still amazing and the best I've had so far. This place is going to be my savior!
google avatar

Ken A.

Yelp
Great place been going there since it opened lattes are the best in town. Everything is made by hand no automated machines there.
google avatar

Jenna M.

Yelp
The espresso here is rich and satisfying! Have had Ace beans at other shops but nothing compares to how they make it here! Heart

Rudy A.

Yelp
It's a great place to work on your laptop or meet with a friends

Delicia T.

Yelp
Wow! This place is a gem and so glad I stumbled upon it. Very unassuming on the outside, Coffee Bureau, hands down, serves the best joe in town. A must try for a coffee connoisseur.

Eileen C.

Yelp
Good coffee and baked goods. Super small so at times feels squished if you get caught with the traffic. Overall would recommend though. Pleasant staff.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is a tiny Gem in the heart of Edmonton, downtown on Jasper Ave. The drip coffee is good and the Americano is honestly, amazing!! The brothers are friendly and remember me all the time. They are always in a joyful mood and play good background music as well. A little slice of Europe in Edmonton! Keep up the awesome work! :)
google avatar

Brooke B.

Yelp
Get the Americano and Almond croissant. Nummy! Next time I return to Edmonton I will visit again...

Julia V.

Yelp
Excellent service, great quality coffee, and cozy, rustic environment have made Coffee Bureau my favourite coffee shop in town!

Dariya T.

Yelp
I read about this place a while ago, and when I was downtown for running some errands I specifically went to try it out. I ordered an americano and it was the best one I ever had! Service was fantastic as well! Highly recommend this place for anyone who appreciates a good cup of coffee!
google avatar

Sam C.

Yelp
Spectacular! I found a dreamy little coffee shop near my hotel. I was greeted by the most pleasant people behind the counter, handed a perfect latte and a still warm croissant. A little slice of heaven. I will be back to get more coffee, some beans, and will always be sure to plan my accommodations in Edmonton so I'll be near to Coffee Bureau!
google avatar

Kat K.

Yelp
I love this place!!!! It's a tiny, sweet place with the most genuine, caring service I think I have ever come across. They're very accommodating to making dairy free drinks and its always yummy.
google avatar

Jessica R.

Yelp
Worth checking out for sure! Probably the best mocha I have ever had in #yeg. I didn't give it 5 stars because of the hours - they close at 5pm and are downtown, and they need to spruce it up with decor. The coffee though, woha so good!!

M K.

Yelp
I love coffee bureau its my favourite coffee shop in town, the ham and cheese croissants are so yummy and the service is always friendly and fast. The best part about this place is the window seats, perfect for people watching!
