What to Do in Old Dubai: Our Guide

"Dubai’s coffee museum occupies a historic two-story Emirati home on an unassuming backstreet. Inside, you’ll find a labyrinth of tiny rooms dotted with artifacts from around the world, including old grinders, pots, and roasters, which have been collected predominantly from throughout Europe and the Middle East. Among the most impressive of the collection here is the 300-year-old jug-shaped clay coffee pots known as a "jebena," which were once used in Ethiopia, where coffee is said to have gotten its start." - Dylan Essertier, Laura Ratliff

The Coffee Museum in Old Dubai is a small but wonderful place. It’s located inside a traditional-style building and feels a bit like stepping into someone’s cozy old home filled with treasures. There’s a beautiful collection of vintage coffee grinders, roasters, coffee bags, pots, cups, and old posters. The museum has several small rooms, each with its own charm. You can also find lots of interesting information about coffee culture and the history of how people started drinking coffee in different parts of the world. They offer two types of coffee for tasting, but honestly, the coffee isn’t very good. Still, the museum itself is absolutely worth a visit. The ticket is very inexpensive and you’ll need about 30 minutes to an hour. There’s a small café upstairs if you want to sit down for a drink afterward.

One of the must visit stops in the Al Fahidi Historical District. Discover how history and tradition blend in one place. Taste the original coffee from Ethiopia and try Gahwa, traditional Arabic coffee 🌍🤎 Learn the story of coffee, from the first grinders, the evolution through time, coffee beans from around the world, old books, and all the epic decorations inside the museum 📚✨ Entrance fee: AED 10 (they prefer cashless) 💳

Fantastic little place. A welcome haven from the heat. They have a little shop in the front. But with the entry fee you get a couple of coffee tasting sample. It was brilliant. Inside the museum shows all about coffee, whether that's the beans themselves or grinders etc. 100% recommend visiting.

The ticket is AED 10 and includes two coffees, which is a nice touch. It’s a small museum spread over two floors, but quite interesting, especially if you enjoy learning about coffee culture. The staff are happy to answer questions, and the location in the old town adds to the experience. A pleasant place to spend around half an hour.

You can explore the rich history of coffee from Ethiopia to the Arab world 🌍 and see old coffee pots, grinders, and traditional brewing methods 🫖✨. The smell of Arabic coffee fills the place 🌸☕. The staff is really nice and welcoming, which made for a warm start to our visit. Entrance is only 10 Dirhams, and they even serve you a small cup of coffee to try, which is a thoughtful gesture. However, there’s not much to see it’s just a few small rooms filled with random coffee machines, without a tour or much information. So I’d say it’s worth dropping by only if you’re already in Old City and looking for something additional to do. Otherwise, I wouldn’t make a special trip just for this.

It’s an interesting cafe & museum. If you are interested in coffee and historical equipments people used to make coffee you will love this place. The space inside is a bit cramped and there are not enough information on the displayed items which is very unfortunate.
