Coffee Onan

I love this coffee shop. The people there are enthusiastic about coffee and tea and talk about them in the same way you would approach wine. The entire encounter with the staff made me want to buy more coffee to try and compare. My only regret is that I did not try the summer specialty drinks.

I only had a couple of hours in Leuven en route to Charleroi Airport from Dessel. My plan was to see a few landmarks and have a coffee and croissant somewhere. I don't think I could have chosen a better place than Coffee Onan. Really friendly staff from the moment I opened the door. Excellent coffee. Such a nice place. Thanks

Lovely little coffee roastery and tea place. We dropped in for a light coffee and snack for breakfast. I had a cappuchino and a cinnamon roll. The cinnamon roll was warm and tasted delicious. My husband had the dirty chai, which could have been a bit stronger ( for my taste)

Great coffee spot with high-quality drinks and tasty desserts, both vegan and non-vegan. They offer good vegan milk options too. The staff is friendly and cheerful, and the atmosphere is cozy both inside and out. Definitely worth a visit!

We were there last week and we tried 3 different cakes, coffees and teas. All were delicious! The atmosphere was so lovely! We will be back for sure! I also loved so much their cups and paintings!

I was there with my friend who ordered a coffee. Less than five minutes later, my friend and I were asked to leave the place as I’d not ordered anything myself. It was a quiet Sunday afternoon. Not the best service.

Phenomenal cafe. Always friendly service, very nice staff. The drinks always taste great and they have some unique flavors. The pastries are out of this world. I hope they stay in business for 200 more years.

Great selection of coffees and teas! The interior is cozy, and the wall of teas is definitely impressive. We did end up having our drinks outside on the terrace because it was waaaaay too hot and stuffy inside. Luckily, the terrace does have heaters which they did turn on. Every drink also came with a little chocolate of your choosing.

A very cosy place at the center of Leuven. I really liked the coffee and the prices were good. Maybe not as spacious but that made it feel even lovelier. I would visit this place again.

Probably the best coffee in Leuven. Perfectly crafted coffee specialities, accompanied by a piece of chocolate that you can chose. I come here whenever I am in town. Nice atmosphere, service and the people really know how to prepare your coffee!

During finals, this place saved me. Before this cafe I had never truly enjoyed coffee without additives, such as sugar and milk, but the regular drip was truly an experience. It also came with a piece of chocolate and a taster of another type of drip. Now that I'm back in the states I just have to dream of the best coffee I've ever had.

The name is punny, the coffee is good, and the free chocolate was awesome. My girlfriend's hot chocolate had a mountain of whipped cream. Make sure to sit outside and get some good people watching in. The wifi was not very good, none of our devices could connect to it. Good coffee shop, just don't count on the free wifi.

Fantastic coffee. My cappuccino was perfect and my croissant was flaky, light and buttery. I was happy to find this place after realizing that most of Leuven gets a late start in the morning.

Best damn coffee I've ever had. And I've tried my share of coffees. Definitely try their Kenya. And chocolate muffin is quite good as well.

One of my favorite coffee bars. The coffee is amazing!! You get super delicious tiny chocolates with your drink. The service is equally amazing, very friendly and helpful, you feel welcome! Very popular, so there is not always free space. But customers don't mind sharing a corner, just ask. They sell a lot of coffee, tea and accessories. They are spread all over one wall and you can smell them. Best coffee in Leuven!!!

Not my cup of tea. Matcha was really bad! Also coffee is not good. Much better places in Leuven.

Recently, I traveled abroad and visited many cities and coffee shops in Belgium. Koffie Onon was my favorite. The owners are vivacious people with a smile on their faces. The coffee is the best, served beautifully in cool cups and with great chocolate. I may be a bit loyal to this place as they treated my daughter like their own during her study abroad for the past semester. They even wanted her to come say goodby before leaving Europe.

Fantastic local coffee bar that roasts its own beans. There's always a pitcher of free water to drink with your espresso and a complementary chocolate to go with your coffee. The only downside is it's quite popular making it difficult to find a seat at times.

The coffee was good. Unfortunately, the customer service was ridiculous enough to ensure this one visit is anyone's last one :( After having had two coffees, the owner asked me and my friend to leave the place in order for her to seat new customers. She said we had to order more or leave since we had been hanging out in the place for more than half an hour and it was more profitable for her to have more room for others. I told her I thought this was extremely rude of her (not to even mention inconsiderate and hurtful), as she was kicking us out in front of the rest of the customers that were confused staring. She said she was the owner and that I had to understand she needed to seat other customers, and she picked on the fact that I used the electricity of her establishment (I plugged in my laptop to a power outlet because I needed to charge it for school). If a cafe is not for more than half an hour hanging out, a date, working, or the power outlets are not for customers to use, it'd be nice to know so beforehand. I really don't think there was any need to have such an awkward experience and I think a good business person knows how to handle these things in a smart, sensitive way without being rude.

My favourite place in town to have coffee The coffee beans are roasted in place and everything is beautifully served in the proper cup. They also have a nice variety of thee and coffee to take home.

Without a doubt the best coffee in town! The owner is passionate about coffee and always willing to give you another taster with the coffee you order. On the wall there is a large selection of coffees and teas to buy. The place is popular and small so you have to be lucky to find a seat.

Very cute place, with good coffee and tea. I bought some coffee beans there as well as fruit tea. The people working there are super nice and explain me knowledge to me about coffee.

Koffie Onan is my favourite place for both a chilled out coffee and to buy the beans to take home and make a coffee before a busy day at work. The staff are so friendly and knowledgable about the coffee they sell.
