Coffee Pond Photography and Yearbooks

They were hired for my child's school photo and class photo. We had to pay in advance for a digital school photo, and the photo did not turn out well (my child was not even looking at the camera). They didn't provide a refund or even alternative photos. Also, even after 2 months, we still haven't received the class photo. Not sure why schools choose to work with this company, there are much better alternatives that let you look at and choose the photos before paying for them.

Had my daughters photos taken on retake day because she started later in the school year. Today I received her “proof” with a new order form. I already paid for the package I wanted on retake day, gave the envelope to the photographer, check has cleared my account. I have tried calling the number listed here 3x today with no answer. Just keeps ringing or is completely silent. Very disappointed! I want my child’s photos!

Absolutely horrible photos. My daughter is in kindergarten, and I purchased her pictures from a different company when she was at prek and the pictures were stellar. Now, she’s at kindergarten and they came to her school and I have never seen worse pictures taken. Both from preschool she is looking stunning, happy and the cameramen did a wonderful job. From this company, her face looks uncomfortable, the lightning is AWFUL, she looks quite yellow. I do not understand a professional photographer looking at this and going “yeah this is good”. I purchased the most expensive package and gave away a couple to family, only for them to say later that they would re-do it but you needed to give back all the pictures taken… I would absolutely not recommend and will put a word with the school to not do it with them next year. Horrible.

For 2nd year in a row my son’s individual school pictures were lost, & we are not only family to whom this has happened. This shows a total lack of competence on the part of their photographers . On top of that we just found out that the teachers are not allowed in the room with the children during individual photograph sessions, which makes us very uncomfortable . We will begin collecting signatures and writing to the school board to look for better companies to handle our children and their memories.

Im not quite sure what type of experience the photographers have, but out of the three times they visited my child's school was three times I did not purchase pictures. The fact that they take the same picture 4 times with the same look, not various shots is unacceptable. I wish Davis Studios that was in Mamaroneck could have trained these people on how to capture these students properly on film. I dont even understand their purpose of retakes when it's just more of the same. It's truly upsetting that I have all of my child's class photos from Pre-K to 5th and the moment she changed schools from 6th-7th I have not one because of the poor quality. Coffee Pond needs to do better.

WONDERFUL! Coffee Pond is GREAT - not only are they really down to earth and easy to work with as a school staff person, but they have INCREDIBLE customer service! They are responsive and easy to reach. As a parent, I’ve had the best experience as well: my kid came home super excited about the experience, the photo is so very “her”, and the class photo is awesome! Our experience, and our photos, couldn’t be more different than those I had taken as a kid in the 80’s!!! I highly recommend Coffee Pond

What a complete and utter scam! They don’t provide proofs before purchasing photo packages. Meanwhile, it’s 2024, when the photographer takes the photos, they can instantly see how it turned out. There shouldn’t be a bad photo! There is no reason whatsoever to have to reshoot the photos at a later date. Shame on you coffee pond! Taking advantages of families! The photos aren’t quality either. I wish schools would stop using this company! What a waste of time and $$$$ Just read some of the reviews from parents saying basically the same exact thing. This company really needs to get out of the business since they can’t take a proper photo! With all the bad reviews, you would think they would at least attempt to do the right thing. Obviously not, cuz it’s a scam! I will file a complaint with the better business bureau.

Paid for the digital files, $20 some dollars each. The files come back and are A) a single photo per child B) approx 2000x1600 and 1.7 mb That's small. That's not enough DPI to print 8x10 if you're going by the rule of wanting 300 dpi. Every modern iPhone has a screen that has a dimension greater than 2000 pixels. So these aren't even very good for showing on any screen of today, let alone tomorrow. The worst part is, I called them to ask for a higher quality image. Nope, they actually don't have larger photos. They take so many so they only save them at these smaller sizes. For reference, if the images were 6mb, over 3x the size, they could store 200,000 on a 1tb hard drive. A 1 tb hard drive is less than $50. It's not even like you need to keep every picture forever!

Price is ridicolous, imagine paying for 2 child, no one pays that much on photos now a day. My coworker had different compony for her son's school with much better deals, Please make better deals

Do not spend your money on Coffee Pond school photos. They are not worth it, even for the digital file. Find a decent photographer to take your yearly school photos. For three years in a row now, there are the same issues: the leafy backgrounds are very distracting, the lighting on the face is not good, the image colors are muddy without contrast, the photographer did not focus on the child's eye, but apparently just let the camera focus on the shirt. They used an outdated, consumer level camera and lens to take the photo. Not to mention the file size / resolution of the photo they send you is very small. For the past two years I spent a little bit of time in photoshop and fixed the color, contrast, sharpness, and photoshopped out parts of the distracting background, in order to make the photos acceptable. This year my child was clearly not ready for the photo, was not smiling, and it should have been immediately obvious to the photographer, who should have retaken it right away when they reviewed the image. I have taken 1000s of photos of my kid, and it would take me great effort to take such a disappointing photo of them. Plus their customer service response to the issue is stunning. Their response is to offer no refund, and to boldly explain to the customer "good luck getting your money back from us, we are legally entitled not to provide a refund."

Coffee Pond Photography is a company that genuinely cares about how your kids and faculty photos turn out. I have been working for the company for 4 years and see the time and effort put into every photoshoot at every school. The pictures are beyond standard for this field. They are also the only photo day company that specializes in outdoor photos! Outside + Sunshine + Smiling faces = Amazing photos. Highly recommend booking with them!!

My 5 year old daughter was told to take her glasses off during her school photos. My daughter came home asking if she was beautiful with glasses because they would not allow her to take her pictures with them on. As a mom who teaches her child positive self image and to accept that she is just as beautiful with glasses, this is disappointing. We take professional family photos every year and her glasses has never been an issue. Seems like their photographer are not experienced enough and all they suggested was for her to sit for retakes. I will be taking this up with the principal to look into a different company for the years to come.

Terrible school photos. It's clear that they put no effort into directing the kids. My daughter looks confused in a few of the photos and is squinting into the sun for the rest. I asked around at school pick up, and every single parent I spoke with said that their child's photos were bad. I didn't bother with the retake because I assume it would be more of the same. Hoping the school chooses a different photographer next year.

They are the worst! Our school uses them every year & every year I question why did I spend money on this. If you have a choice, keep walking. Maybe they are better for individual sessions, but in the five years we've had school pictures taken, I've always been disappointed with the results, even after fixes or retakes.

From shadows across their faces one year, to the photographer not thinking to point out there was a headband malfunction before taking my child's photo.. a simple "redo your headband" would have fixed it, but nope! Not wasting any more money on these school photos through coffee pond.

The people here are truly incompetent. They don't know how to take a picture to save their life, and all of their pictures turn out horribly even when they are "edited" they don't know how to pose anyone and when you try to give a suggestion to pose themselves they ignore it and continue to pose them the wrong way! And the women wouldn't let anyone retake their picture or even look at them,
