What a wonderful boutique hotel! I loved my room. It felt so peaceful to open the balcony doors in the morning, sit and drink coffee. Breakfast was incredible. If you are a solo traveler, this spot is not very social in the low season, but you can walk to the Viajero 100m away and participate in their games. I think it’s the best of both worlds: a quiet place to sleep with easy access to fun.

At risk of exaggeration, this might be my favourite hostel I have ever stayed in. For a three night trip, I got to make the most of the most incredible balconies and range of calm outdoor and indoor spaces to listen to the birds and look out at the surrounding hills. The location on the edge of town makes it incredibly peaceful, although I don’t know if anywhere in Salento is very noisy apart from maybe around the plaza principal / Calle real at night. The hostel staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was perfect. I really love how the dorms are arranged with the beds side on with dividers (I don’t have any pics but maybe another review will!), it felt more private like a ‘pod’. I was amazed at how quiet it was at night, I slept like a baby (maybe also exhausted from days of hiking and sun). I did the yoga class offered one day, which was really lovely (I don’t think I got the instructors name but thank you <3). The yoga studio is very nice, and I think they offer classes that people not staying in the hostel can also do. There were some other activities but I didn’t do them. As someone who prefers a quiet place to a party hostel, this was absolutely perfect for me, but people were also very friendly and sociable. I also went on the ocaso coffee tour, which was recommended and booked through the hostel reception, and this was wonderful!

Coffee Tree Boutique Hostel is an absolute gem. The grounds are lush and inviting, with a beautiful garden area that makes it feel like a little oasis. There are endless cozy corners to relax with a book or, in our case, get some work done without missing a beat. The balconies are a dream, perfect for sipping coffee and soaking in the calm vibes. The hosts and front desk crew are the kind of people who make you feel instantly at home. Super friendly, helpful, and always ready with great recommendations. And the breakfast? Quick, simple, and spot-on... exactly what you need to fuel up and dive into the day. Can’t recommend this place enough!

The hostel is pretty good, staff are nice and friendly. Specially Belen! The room is noisy and we can listen to people coming into the other rooms and also people moving in their bed.

I really enjoyed my permanence for a week in Salento at coffee tree. The hostel has a nice shared spaces both indoor and outdoor. The room was clean and relaxing. You can have free coffee and breakfast there. The staff is always friendly, trying to help you to give you the best experience. One of the best hostel where I ever been!

I was in a 6 bed dorm ensuite, spacious room, comfortable bed but I didn't like the layout being vertical, bathrooms are ok, social area is nice, beds done every day. There's free coffee and water and nice views.

One of the best hostels I have ever stayed at. The rooms are very clean and your bed feels private. The location is perfect and you do not hear the noise from the main square. They organize very fun activities every night that you can join. The view is amazing and you really get to rest here. Highly recommended

The most lovely hostel in Salento! I spent a week here, before and after hiking trips. The location is great because it’s not in the busy tourist streets, but just around the corner - with the sound of the horses, the beautiful garden and views. I was a female, alone, and felt safe walking home in the evenings from the main square. There are also shops and restaurant options in the same street as the hostel. ||The owner and staff at Coffee Tree are wonderful - incredibly friendly and welcoming, have lots of info on Salento and the surrounds, also if anything is not working or bothering you, please speak to them - especially to Eduardo - as they welcome feedback and want to ensure your stay is top notch. (For example our bathroom door lock was funny, I mentioned it and within 30 mins it was fixed). ||The dogs are a treat - so docile and calm but ever present welcoming you home. Coffee tree has lovely breakfast and all day there is tea, coffee and a filter tap available. You can also buy freshly baked cake and if you’re sat in the communal area around 6pm a cheeky popcorn is served. ||||The hostel has a professional yoga instructor, Laura, who does free classes 3x a week and more challenging classes for a small fee - ask the hostel for the schedule. ||||The hostel is a mix of dorms and private rooms. The dorms are comfortable and there are plenty of shared bathrooms and showers around if your dorm one is occupied. I stayed in a couple of different dorms and all were very spacious. They are busy redoing all their dorms so maintenance and upgrades are important to the hostel. ||Wifi was excellent. A kitchen is available. Plenty chill space (important as Salento gets a fair bit of rain), hammocks, co working space. They do have a freezer with some beers on site - you can buy wine down they street, they have glasses. Down the street is a massage boutique. They do on site laundry.||Honestly don’t deliberate - just book Coffee tree!!||I did also spend 2 nights at V down the street, and preferred coffee tree as a space and vibe (unless you want to party and get cocktails at a bar, then go to V).||Thanks team - coffee tree was a treat!
