This place was phenomenal. Our bartenders were Lexi and Eric and they are top of the line, super friendly and skilled. We stayed in the cottages for the week and had a great time. This place has all you need from a cute little shop and bakery to a restaurant and bar! We were pleasantly surprised and I would recommend Cohens Retreat to anyone passing through Savannah or just for a night out to dinner and drinks.

I attended a wedding reception. It was nice to meander and sit around the tables and different rooms. I’m just too old for the bunny hop, so I was happy. They had a large room with several tables and a small bar,and larger bar in another room. There is a lobby with several couches. There was a gift shop and designer business upstairs; I didn’t notice any other businesses other than to say the reception area must be a restaurant in the daytime. Outside there was a patio where the younger folks were hanging out and dancing. They seemed like to be happy. I wouldn’t mind trying the restaurant for lunch.

This was our second time dining at Cohen’s Retreat. We were seated at the exact same table only at the opposite side of the dining room. I have to say that it’s all too rare for restaurants to have comfortable seats. Both the banquet and the chair were height and firmness appropriate. As my Beloved spouse says, “An uncomfortable chair really ruins a meal.” We ordered the tomato onion pie as an appetizer. We were surprised when not one, but 2 personal sized pies came out. They were outstanding. The sweet and tart flavors mixed beautifully. Beloved spouse had his heart set on the rack of lamb. Unfortunately as our server, Tanner, explained the chef had been disappointed in recent deliveries of lamb and had opted to use it for stew instead, while looking for a new supplier. Beloved spouse did shift to the filet mignon with French fries, done medium. I so seldom get scallops I could not resist them when I saw the menu. Both meals arrived a reasonable time after finishing our appetizers. (It’s so nice to have a leisurely meal and not feel rushed.) They were both wonderful. The filet practically melted in your mouth. Likewise the scallops were tender and sweetly flavorful. If there was anything disappointing about the meal, I would say it would be the lack of a choice of side with the filet. French fries are more of a hamburger fare. As I said, we have eaten at Cohen’s previously. We planned to order flan to share for dessert. Unfortunately Tanner told us that they only had Key Lime Pie. Now I know many people enjoy it but Beloved spouse and I do not. Oh well. We have ice cream at home.😉 Along with 2 glasses of Chardonnay our bill for food came to $128. We tipped Tanner in cash.

We absolutely loved Cohen’s and the staff there were amazing. The bartenders Eric and Lexie were amazing and very skillful especially, and we thoroughly enjoyed spending the evening at their bar. The cottages offered the perfect amount of space for us and we were pleasantly surprised with how much the retreat had to offer as a whole. Whether it’s the bar, restaurant, cafe, or shop, they had it all and I highly recommend it to any that are staying in Savannah or live there!

This was my second time visiting. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the aesthetic. The service was beautiful. The food just didn’t hit the mark for me personally. It tasted a little on the bland side compared to my first visit. It could’ve just been a fluke, but overall I enjoyed myself!

I love going to Cohen’s Retreat! It’s a great place to buy food, drinks, and shop. On my recent visit, I had ordered their French fries and a sparking water. I must say their fries are top notch and the dipping sauce made it even tastier! On past visits, I would support local artists through the various shows they host throughout the year and more!

Brought visiting family here for the most lovely dining experience we have had in years. The food was great, the service was delightful and the atmosphere is perfect. Highly recommend!!

Google
Disappointing food. My Cohen's Burger, ordered medium, was closer to rare than mid-rare. It was very unevenly cooked. The side I started eating from was mid-rare so I didn't mention it, but the other half was rare (borderline raw). The burger sauce was Big Mac-style sauce, and the bun was the only redeeming part of the burger. The fries it came with were not fresh; they were barely warm and quite soggy.

Yelp
They don't have a calorie count menu. The Ratatouille could've been more tender. Veggies a little too tough and under seasoned. The Pork loin was cold and under seasoned. Rack of Lamb was cold but seasoned well. Greens could have been a little more seasoned. The Fried Green Tomatoes, Salmon, Shrimp Pasta all were Hits!!! The atmosphere and the ambiance of the venue is amazing. Our server Donte' was PERFECTION!!! We went on Thursday so there was live music that was great and we didn't have to wait at all for a table.

Yelp
Stopped for lunch Service 4* Ambiance 5* Food 3* Omelette was overdone French toast on a soggy side. But the location is unique and very comfortable

Yelp
This place is really nice. Lunch menu is small, but I love it. It is great for people like me who are indecisive. I ordered the herb and farro and added shrimp. It was delicious. My friend ordered the fried chicken with fries. She said it was too salty for her taste. I would definitely come back. Oh, did i tell you about the cafe and gift store. You better come check it out.

Yelp
I really enjoyed the meal and ambiance at Cohen's Retreat. Sitting by the fireplace with friends made dinner cozy. The service was excellent upon entry. Soup and dinner were seasoned to perfection. Everything was fresh and delectable. I had dinner in the main dining room, but I hear the bar has a cool vibe and the catering hall is nice too. Would definitely come back and try other menu items.

Yelp
Got to dine there Saturday following the Savannah Scottish games and was beyond thankful we did. This is a hidden gem in Savannah. It used to be an old gentleman's home and their history is on display in the lobby. The bench chairs outside face the street where the gentleman who lived there could watch the traffic go by. This place has been remodeled into a great spot for drinks and amazing foods. The separate bar area is well apportioned and was busy with young couples and locals alike. The dining room is classy but also casual at the same time. The decorations run from Indian/Asian wood accents but the food is low country and American. Their shrimp and grits is very flavorful and I got the New York strip done in an Au Poivre style. It was excellent. The staff were fun and professional. They truly wanted you to enjoy the place and their knowledge of the building was very prevalent. Please if you can, give this location a try and you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
What a hidden gem! Beautiful ambiance, great service and fantastic food. Really special place. Private dining rooms with fireplace for small parties. Main dining room is cozy and elegant. Very nice gift shop with unusual finds. This is my new favorite place!

Yelp
This was the cutest brunch spot I've been to in a long time. I feel like many people drive by here and have no idea what's on the inside, or that what's on the inside is open to the public. We walked in and a live band was playing music. Come on ambiance! We started our time here with brunch and had the most delicious meals. The chicken biscuit with gravy was so crispy and tender and the way the sweetness of the tomato jam complemented the savory flavor of the gravy was mouth watering. (Edited quote from my brunch date!) the bacon jam Benedict was cooked to perfection. The drinks were so good, and perfect for brunch. What made this place even more of a gem was the little bakery, the bar, gift shop, and "mini museum". We walked about and I can personally say the the decorative details around the estate added to the charm. Love the fact that this isn't located in all the madness of downtown. So exited to go back!

Yelp
So on this particular Thursday night,Dec 7th,it was a solo dinner date (self love). I chose Cohens because of the convenient location and I knew I would be seated fairly quickly even though I made reservations 45 minutes later. I've been to this place for brunch but only once for dinner. So you can say this is one of a favorite places. The atmosphere was amazing,Christmas lights, fireplace and great service what else is there. For dinner I had the hush puppies for starters a glass of wine , while I waited for the main course , I worked on the agenda for the grands and the adults coming for the holidays. Once I received my fabulous looking shrimp and grits I got very excited. They were extremely tasteful but the shrimp were very tough, not what I was expecting. I pressed on because of how delicious the meal was. After dinner I indulged in another glass of wine to listen to the great solo organist , he was great, very smooth and very relaxing. Now I'm trying to decided on my next Thursday Night Self love adventure.

Yelp
Top choice for brunch in Savannah Georgia. A converted building which has eclectic and stylish small rooms turned into dining rooms with a bar in the middle. It has gender-neutral restrooms that are stylish. There is a store to shop for many many goods and souvenirs. The chicken biscuit with tomato jam is one of the favorites and it is excellent. The eggs benedict with bacon jam was superb. We also enjoyed a smashburger with broccoli side and the chicken and waffles. One of our party enjoyed the breakfast bowl with grits. We had salads before and shared a tomato pie which was amazingly good. We ask for the recipe but were denied. Their all you can drink mimosas are $15 and other signature drinks. The chicken biscuit is served only on Saturday and Sunday for brunch. The other days of the week they're open for breakfast lunch and dinner. We love this place and will continue to frequent it.

Yelp
If don't order but one item - get the Crab Stew! Fantastic with lump crab and sherry, and it may be the best I've ever had in Savannah! The waitress highly recommended and she's right, "it's great"! It was a soup and salad day for me, and the Fall Salad with mixed greens, beets, Gorgonzola, drizzle of roasted scallion dressing was terrific, too. The accompanying grilled chicken was flavorful but a bit chewy. My only experiences at Cohen's Retreat so far has been at attend lovely events with delicious eats. There was a wait today but not for too long. A helpful tip is to keep in mind Cohen's retreat is closed on Monday and Tuesday. Additionally, they prepare many entrees using local and regional items. Honestly, a vegetable plate of their A La Carte items was tempting. Each are $5 and include Collard Greens, Mac & Cheese, Brussels Sprouts & Bacon, Field Peas and Seasonal Vegetables. I will return!

Yelp
The brunch is amazing!! The food was out of this world. Great service. Fun place. The place is very unique with a lot of weird trinkets throughout the home.

Yelp
We had heard great things about Cohens and decided to stop in for lunch the other day. My husband and I decided to split the fried green tomatoes and tomato pie for appetizers and the combo shrimp salad and chicken salad. I'm not sure what happened but nothing had any herbs or seasonings whatsoever. They were all extremely bland. I would never have known there was tomato in the tomato pie. The balsamic vinegar had no flavor and even though the chicken salad had whole grain mustard throughout you couldn't taste it. There was a very strong garlic flavor in the chicken salad which was all you could taste. It was edible but nothing we ordered was anything outstanding or even good enough to say wow we'd come back for this. All in all we left feeling very disappointed. The two stars are for the decor which was very nice but the food was very disappointing.

Yelp
The food was mouthwatering good! The ambience is very eclectic. Service was fantastic. Definitely make reservations. Great place to take a date for dinner.

Yelp
I've been to Cohen's several times for dinner, but this was my first time going for lunch! We ordered the smash burger and shrimp and chicken salad plate - both of which were great! They also have an awesome happy hour during the week - Wednesday, Friday and Saturday - 4-6 and Thursdays from 4-9!
google avatar

Yelp
My friends and I just visited after 2 of us have been wanting to try here for YEARS! It was a very nice space and we all loved EVERYTHING we got! In the charcuterie I got, there was a bacon jam that was THE BEST BACON JAM I have ever had! A little sweet, a little Smokey, and very "bacony". I was going to buy a jar of it, but unfortunately, we got there too late for the shops to still be open by the time we were done eating, but the server got me a bigger to-go ramekin of it. EXTRA POINTS FOR HER SERVICE! The only slightly upsetting part for me was that we sat at the bar while waiting for a table (reservations are strongly urged) and the bartender never offered me a drink, but asked the lady next to me as soon as she sat down and I had been sitting there trying to get his attention for 5-7 minutes before this lady sat down. Aside from that, everything was GREAT!

Yelp
Great lunch or drinks or Dinner spot- with no hassle parking! Some private dining rooms available if u hv a large party.

Yelp
We held my wedding reception at Cohen's Retreat. It was a small reception for 6-8 people. Natasha Davis helped us in booking the room and ordering the food in advance, and she is great. We took the chef's dining room. The food was delicious and service was warm. We started close to their closing time but they arranged for us and the kitchen and waiters/waitress was there with us untill the end which is 1 hour exceeding their closing time. What impressed me was the other guests having dinner there was cheering and congratulating for us when we came in. People go to the place they like, nice people go to nice place, isn't it? Food was delicious and looks great, too.

Yelp
This is my local. Former home for lonely old men, now a delightfully odd restaurant and bar. Expensive and worth it, best service and bartenders in midtown.

Paula T.

Yelp
I really enjoy Cohen's Retreat. the food is really good. Nikki has done a great job being the manager and is always attentive. She has the place looking fantastic starting outside with all the beautiful landscape. Nikki really makes me feel valued as a patron and is accommodating to all. Great place!

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant- great for groups. Food was delicious! Would recommend especially for locals.

Yelp
Food was very expensive, and it just sucked. I don't think I've ever said that about a restaurant before. My wife and i left and actually went home for some food. It was just such a rip off.

Yelp
Absolutely one of my favorite places during my stay. 10/10 for the establishment itself. Beautifully decorated. 10/10 for the food itself. The fried green tomatoes was a chef's kiss. I also had the shrimp and grits... season to perfection. Even our wait staff was amazing. Highly recommend.

Yelp
What a great quiet place for a great Sunday dinner. First time we have visited, the shrimp and grits DELICIOUS! The staff was very professional and courteous. Something you do not see much anymore. Great job Cohens Retreat!

Yelp
One of our local favorites. We have been going for years and our friend Nikki works there so we are always happy to see her. Drinks and food is always top notch!

Yelp
I tried the pecan French toast and it was a nice subtle sweet flavor. Well priced brunch menu and a decent variety of options. Cute atmosphere and good service!

Yelp
Came here for lunch during restaurant week, the decor is impressive but the food not so much. For appetizer, I got Brunswick stew, which wasn't warm enough and tasted like it had been sitting outside for a while. My date got the hummus and pita. The amount of hummus was way too much for the pita and the hummus was cold and tasteless. For entree, I got the Cuban sandwich. It wasn't the best, I have had way better Cuban sandwich. My date got the low country plate of the day which included catfish on a bed of grits. It was ok, not very flavorful. I had high expectations from this place which failed, two stars just for the decor. The bar area was pretty! There is a little market at the back of the restaurant, which had cute but really expensive stuff. Don't think I will be returning anytime soon for food.

Steve B.

Yelp
Went for dinner, and overall enjoyed it. The space and ambience are excellent, we enjoyed the vibe and being surrounded by art. The food was tasty, but expensive for the small portions that we got. Checked it off the list of places to try, unsure we'll return.

The Grub Club S.

Yelp
Incredible atmosphere. Such a fun building. Wonderful service. Everything was delicious. We started off with a side of brussel sprouts & fried green tomatoes. Both dishes were excellent. The special tonight was a stew - hardy and delicious. The crusted grouper was simple but decent, definitely needed a flavor pairing like the jam/sauce that came on the side. Shrimp and grits were incredibly rich, but very tasty. A tasting portion of the shrimp and grits would have been more than enough though. The lamb ribs were okay, the collard greens were the only star in that dish. The beverages were a huge disappointment. The lack of selection was surprising (tequila to be specific, house cocktails and beer). Would have enjoyed more of a variety. The venue was wonderful. Beautiful seating areas in every room. An overall great dining experience. (Really cool nighttime light display)

Yelp
This place is super interesting! You can eat, drink, shop or just wander around and take a look at the decor!! Limited days/hours open so check the website then Go!

Yelp
The crab bisque is AMAZING but that's kinda where our experience stopped :/ we spent almost 10 bucks with the 2 drinks, a chicken dish and a burger that was pretty sad as a burger....might not go back. Except for the crab bisque! ;)
google avatar

Quineshia P.

Yelp
I love this space. Each time I visit the setting is intimate and the noise is very minimal. Great service and wonderful drinks! I highly recommend the Shrimp & Grits.

Yelp
"Upscale " place in the middle of a community. Don't miss it and drive past it, look for a brick building that looks like a school and an old truck out front. Inside you will be so surprised to see the individually locally designed dining rooms. The food is wonderful and priced just right! Check out Thurs. evenings after 530 for music and happy hour all evening . Grab a quart of Brunswick Stew, amazing!

Margot B.

Yelp
I completely agree with the other reviewers that the venue is very eclectic and is just incredible. The owner has sourced some beautiful antiques as well as very unique and intricate door frames that I just loved. After lunch, we toured the dining rooms, event rooms and the shop and they were all lovely. I truly wish that the food had lived up to the ambience and the good service. I don't like to give restaurants negative review because I know full well how difficult it was and is to run a restaurant. much less survive a pandemic. Our waiter was very nice and attentive, so no complaints. But the food was a completely different story. I was there for lunch with my two cousins. We ordered hush puppies to start (ok, but a bit too sweet for my taste), 2 soft drinks and 1 iced tea, a chef salad, a hamburger and a fish sandwich. The salad was ok, but the hamburger came without any lettuce, tomato or onion. Ditto for the fish sandwich which was so dry, it was inedible - I couldn't finish it. We didn't order any alcohol and yet the bill came to $65 which I found shocking (I know, because I paid it). We could have gone to a fast food restaurant and had a better meal. My suggestion, please hire another chef for your lunch shift. I can only hope that the dinner service and catering is light years better.
google avatar

B M.

Yelp
Ok, I've put off writing a review because I feel like this is my secret place. But it's so good and beautiful and unique! The history is interesting. It's a comfortable, stylish and artsy place. It's a great venue for weddings or showers. My favorite thing here is brunch! I also finally went to do some work at the cafe area. (Bonus: they sell Leopold's ice cream! ). And I have to give a shout out to The Little House bakery for the little blueberry pie. It was SO cute and just as delicious as it looked.
google avatar

Tiffani B.

Yelp
This restaurant was really nice for brunch on a Saturday. My husband and I started off with the cohens lunch plate: chicken salad, potato salad, shrimp salad, as an appetizer. The chicken salad was curried it was delicious my second favorite was the shrimp salad which was very good, but my husband's favorite was the potato salad ( ide rather have shrimp over potatoes). My husband had fried chicken, biscuits and gravy with bacon jam. I enjoyed the pimento cheese BLT with rosemary fries (could've done without the rosemary seasoning but it was ok). The staff was polite, facilities clean, and nothing I tasted was bad. Very quaint dining room but the venue has a banquet hall, private dining rooms, a market and cottages in the back. Very fun spot.
google avatar

Jessica A.

Yelp
The portion size of Pecan Encrusted French Toast was tiny. It was either one regular size slice or possibly 2 miniature slices. It should be on the menu (and preferably priced as) an appetizer or dessert portion. Being a small person that usually eats half of an entree and takes the rest home, it was really telling that after eating every crumb, I was still so hungry that I had to go straight home and eat lunch. My friend's Bacon Jam Benedict was a more reasonable portion size, but her avocado was brown. I tasted her meal and thought it was blasé. Aside from all that, the server was polite, the atmosphere was charming, and the music was enjoyable. I just can't give it more credit after leaving hungry.

Audrey L.

Yelp
I came here as a last min option for a graduation and was very disappointed. The food was bland, and the lunch menu did not have mush options. The place is really nice on the outside and inside it is a very nice place and the ambiance is good. I loved the decor and how the restored and renovated the place. The drinks were alll nasty. It felt more like an experimental restaurant than American cuisine. I would not recommend going here for a celebration. Maybe I should have gone for dinner but the lunch did not satisfy my tastebuds or compare to how beautiful the place was. The service was perfect but the food just wasn't to my standards.
google avatar

Katie N.

Yelp
Beautiful place, awful dining experience. Out of five diners four plates were bad. The burger is like something off the McDonalds Menu, the avocado was dark brown in multiple dishes and we were told that it's just oxidation (yet somehow other restaurants manage green avocado?), the poached eggs were over cooked as was the replacement egg brought to appease one dish sent back. The server was sweet but clearly upset we complained. Fried tomatoes and pimento cheese were great as were the cocktails. Wouldn't recommend the food- go for the atmosphere and the shops and have a cocktail along the way.
google avatar

Noel C.

Yelp
No restaurant in savannah compares to Cohens retreat. The food is delicious and flavorful without the flavor solely being salt. Also great happy hour specials.

Eve H.

Yelp
This is an interesting venue that does not look like your typical restaurant from the outside. It is very artsy and interesting inside. The food is delicious. My husband had fried chicken which he enjoyed. I had the shrimp and grits which was good but the texture was more soupy than expected. Felt rushed by the pace of service. We were seated in a dark room and not given the option of seating elsewhere. Looked deserted when we arrived. Suggest giving guests the option of seating. I would have preferred one of sunnier rooms. Also, place a board outside indicating that this is the restaurant and hours for guests who may arrive early.
google avatar

Connie H.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this place for a Saturday brunch and am glad we found it. Food was delicious, service was good and the venue itself is beautiful and quirky. The only criticism I have is that the food could have been a little bit hotter and the table we were seated at was slightly wobbly, but I am nitpicking here. After our meal, we ventured down the hall and checked out the little store that was full of what seemed like locally made goods and wares. Loved the artwork on the walls and picked up a couple pairs of unique earrings. Glad we discovered this cute place!

Yelp
I've always wanted to come to this place for a while after hearing many good reviews from various people. I came here for restaurant week during lunch. The food overall was sub par and nothing exceptional. I honestly was expecting more. Firstly, the place is gorgeous. It has a mansion type feel inside with a large market at one end and the restaurant in the other. For the appetizer, I had the hummus. It was cold and there wasn't enough pita bread. The hummus to pita bread ratio was about 5:1. Too much hummus for too little bread. The hummus was utterly tasteless. Cold and unforgiving. For main course, I had the fried catfish with grits. It was better, but was still lacking in flavor. The fried catfish was fast food restaurant-esque and did not suit my appetite to my liking. The grits were probably the best thing on the plate, but did not meet my expectations in comparison to the grits from other places. They definitely have good presentation for the food, but that does not substantiate for the disappointment in the food. I'm sure they have other good options, but they did not meet my expectations for restaurant week. I would give this place another try, but not anytime soon.

Kyle D.

Yelp
Went for Sunday brunch. Blood orange drink was yellow and served with lemon... old fashioned was a murky purple color. When I asked the waitress, she said they add water to the drink... I'd ask for an old fashioned without water next time. I was supposed to order their version of an eggs Benedict but was missing a key ingredient - the sausage gravy. Yep, sausage gravy, avocado, bacon jelly, egg, hollandaise. Don't get it, it isn't good and came out without the sausage gravy. The waitress said it wasn't served with this item so I presented the menu. She said they don't have a main chef now and that's why the kitchen was lacking. My wife got bottomless mimosas - her glass was empty most of brunch but did manage to enjoy 3. For a $114 bill, I'd go somewhere else.

Amanda M.

Yelp
I want to love Cohen's Retreat. The ambiance is great, the location is convenient and I love being able to go somewhere nice that is not downtown. I keep giving the restaurant another chance but the quality of service keeps declining and the food is only average. Our server was friendly enough but her level of service and (lack of) interaction was really more in line with a casual chain restaurant than a $30 per plate local place. It took forever for her to take our appetizer order and it was almost 1 full hour after we were seated that our appetizers arrived. The person that brought out our charcuterie board just sat it down and left- no description of the cheese and meat. The cheese was good but the crackers looked like something they picked up at Sam's- just not high quality, especially when you consider they used to serve Auspicious bread. All of our party struggled to select an entree off of the very small duinner menu. It's been a while since we were there so I expected to see some new menu items but it was basically all the same stuff they have been serving the last couple of years. The entrees we selected were ok, nothing special, certainly not what you expect from a beautiful place like Cohen's. This will probably be my last time going for dinner until they make some serious updates to the menu. There's nothing to keep me coming back. I hope they make some improvements because they could have a really great thing.

Yelp
Y'all, this is unquestionably one of the coolest, most stunningly beautiful venues I've ever had the pleasure of having a meal, much less a clandestine lunch with my husband. Before entering the mansion, we admired the front grounds and fountain. At first imposing with its strong ionic columns and pediment, the mansion quickly enraptures you from the moment you enter the hall. Art adorns the walls - all of them. One is completely surrounded by the most beautiful, eclectic people and pieces; I honestly didn't want to leave and this was before I'd even tasted the food, which was sublime! Their house-made garden herb dressing was bright and herbaceous, while their shrimp and grits was a show-stopper of a dish! I very nearly wept into my wahoo, it was so delicious! The food is exceptional, but I honestly cannot say enough about the house; the colors, the furniture, the doorframes, the portraits, the louvered blinds, the collages -- all were so beautiful. The host was a very hospitable, Southern gentleman who greeted us like old friends. I declare: y'all must make reservations and go! It was so good for my soul; I simply cannot wait to return. Indubitably 5 stars!

Yelp
I was looking forward to trying this dining establishment for restaurant week. The interior of the building has more personality than the exterior. The rooms have different decor themes. The food was a mixed bag. The fried green tomatoes was a nice bite with a mix of corn salsa and goat cheese. For the entree, my prime rib was lifeless and sliced thin. I barely ate half of it. However, my friend ordered off the regular menu and went with the sea bass. It was a pretty presentation and filet well. The key lime pie was more of a whip rather than the custard I am used to and the crust was extremely hard. Bit of a stuffy crowd with a lean towards an older audience. I don't think I will return. It was a novel experience but not a best seller.

Yelp
Tried this place for restaurant week, but the offerings are mostly normal menu items so it seems appropriate to review it. Awesome creamy shrimp and grits with a tomato/corn gravy, chicken country captain which is pretty much a must try on any Savannah menu, and great openers/closers like grit cakes with fresh crab and buttermilk pie (get this). Also got the wine pairings for the meals and they were stellar. Really great desert port served with the pie. Ask for Louis - awesome waiter! Will definitely be back to this place.

Yelp
Fantastic fried green tomatoes. The food was prepared perfectly. I do not recommend the pickles (I had the bbq lamb ribs with greens and pickles) - no where is that pickle flavor welcome on the dish. The greens were amazing, by far my favorite part of the meal. First time having lamb ribs - tough, dry and thin, I assume that's just how they are. I typically never comment on the cost because I truly don't mind paying quite a bit for an awesome meal - but this restaurant seems a bit overpriced in my opinion. I was disappointed with the entrees, the appetizer selection and definitely the beer/cocktail options. The dull drink selection did not match the fancy and intriguing food selection. Overall, incredible reputation from what I've heard. Extremely friendly people. Wish so much I was more "wowed" by this experience. But I wasn't.

Yelp
Cohen's Retreat is absolutely amazing. My entire experience was great. Approximately a week ago I found this gem. I was in search of a location to celebrate my friend's birthday and one night I pasted Cohen's Retreat while running an errand. The beautiful lights caught my attention. I googled Cohen's Retreat and found pictures on the website to be beautiful. I immediately made a reservation for a party of 10 which was quick and easy. The employee who answered the phone was welcoming to me. When I arrived the day of the dinner I impressed with Cohen's Retreat the moment I pulled on the property. Beautiful lighting and landscaping. Parking was good. Staff greeted me at the door and gave me a hand with my party items (cake & balloons). Staff made me feel welcome. They were very attentive. The interior decor is beautiful. I was escorted to one of the several dinning rooms which was beautifully decorated. After setting up for my guest. I toured Cohen's Retreat. The entire property is beautiful. The meals ordered was delicious and presentation of the food was great. I will definitely be revisiting Cohen's Retreat this month.
