Fished with Kyle today. Kyle is an amazing guide. He is very patient and knowledgeable. He offered to step in showing me the different techniques needed to catch the local fish. I arrived with little knowledge of freshwater techniques but through his guidance wound up catching many really nice sized fish. He explained that further upstream we went we would have a better chance of finding a wild rainbow trout and that is exactly what happened. Also caught a palomino🤯 Would leave 10 stars if I could. Will definitely be booking again for next year..

Booked a private wade trip through Drew. He set me up with guide Kyle who was awesome. I’m a very novice fly fisherman and Kyle’s expertise and know how had me catching some beautiful rainbows in no time. I highly recommend Cohutta Outfitters to any novice out there looking to learn the art of Fly fishing and wanting to experience the fight on light tackle. I look forward to possibly retuning in the fall and doing a boat trip. Thanks again Cohutta for the amazing experience.

Booked two half day trips. Wade fishing the first day and drift boat the second day! Successful both days! Matt is an excellent guide! Very knowledgeable and helpful! Highly recommend!!

I booked a private fly fishing trip for my husband and I for our wedding anniversary for a half day and our guide was Monroe Mayfield (what a cool name!). We shared that my husband is visually impaired and may need some guidance. Monroe was amazing! He helped guide my husband through all of his casts and catches, my husband had the best time and it was all because of Monroe! To see my husband catch fish and beam with joy makes me so happy! Thank you Monroe, you are the best guide we have ever had and we appreciate you and your love for fishing, you're a great teacher! We caught a ton of trout and loved the property were fishing from, it's a great place to learn or brush up on your fly fishing. We would book here again with Monroe any day!

These guys are true professional. Drove down from main to fish a few spot and stopped by for some info on what the fish were taking. Very helpful with a few flies I did not have. 15 minutes in the water and my sole came of my wading boots. Went back to town to see if I could purchase, did not have my size (15) but had a pair they use guiding customers. Would not take money, just asked that I leave them at the basement door. What a great bunch of guys! Great fly selection, excellent retail selection with great brands! This place was a a true treat to visit!

Absolutely top notch and well worth the money. I have never enjoyed fishing like I have fly fishing. I did the full day guided float and a half day guided wade fishing and I had an absolute blast. My guides Cole and Monroe were very knowledgeable and patient while teaching me and the other first time fly fisherman. I would highly recommend everyone give fly fishing a try but do it right and let the professionals teach you. Thank you Cole, Monroe, and Cohutta Fishing Company for the fishing trip I will remember forever.

Solid shop with solid guides. We fished with Monroe who kept us on massive Rainbows all day. He went above and beyond to make sure we had a great day and helped land a monster 20+ inch trout to cap it off.

My husband and I are not familiar with the rivers around Blue Ridge. We stopped into the shop to ask some questions and the guys couldn’t have been more helpful! We left with a few flies and directions to the area fishing spots. We had a beautiful day on the river. We will definitely be visiting again!

I just wanted to give a quick shout out to Kyle! Great customer relations. Traveling all over the US, I absolutely love to explore the "local experience". Blue Ridge, GA , is known for its awesome fly fishing environment. I myself have never had the opportunity to try this activity, but am so intrigued by the culture built around this sport. Kyle was informative and very knowledgeable as well as friendly. If felt like I wanted to "hang"! This is a nice shop with state on the art equipment. Although a bit small with a limited selection, Kyle said he had more options if ordering was necessary. The company offers guided fishing tours with the guarantee of a fun filled local fishing experience. The reviews on Yelp seem to reflect this outcome. The prices seem to be in line with the other shops in the area. Just remember, nowadays, it's all about the personal interactions the create the ultimate customer experience. Kudos Kyle! Spent a good 30 minutes in the shop with very helpful and knowledgeable staff who assisted with fly selections for fishing the Toccoa River. Over the next three days I managed to catch a dozen or do rainbow and brown trout. Obviously, these guys know their area. I use to fly fish in my late teens and early twenties. I recently retired and decided to take this great hobby back up. Without their knowledge and assistance I would not have been this successful on my first time on a trout river. Thank you for your time and willingness to share your knowledge.

I purchased a half day fishing trip for my son and daughter-in-law. They went on the trip on Thursday, March 16 on an afternoon half trip. My son is an avid fisherman from Florida and he enjoyed the fishing and caught at least 20+ fish and his guide was great. My daughter-in-law caught one as well and enjoyed the trip I would highly recommend if you enjoy fishing to check out this guide service.

We stopped in this store on a recent vacation to the Mountains. Blue Ridge is one of our favorite places to stop in and buy vacation goodies for the family. This store is one for the books. Knowledgeable staff and a wide range of equipment for enjoying fly fishing.

My Son treated me to a guided fly fishing trip for Fathers Day weekend. This was our first experience fly fishing and both of our guides met us at 7am. with friendly enthusiasm. We were escorted to the back of The Cohutta store to get fitted with waders and waterproof boots. Once dressed for the river, we followed our guides for a half day trip to Horseshoe Bend. Our guides for the trip were Melissa and Mike. Most of my experience fishing was spent with Melissa who was very professional and a fantastic, and most knowledgeable guide. Melissa took the time to explain how each component of fly fishing works. She was very patient, and following her instructions, I managed to catch three fish. A nice rainbow trout and two small bass. My son caught two nice trout. We began our trip at 7:30am and the river was almost all our own. By 10am. Much more traffic on the river was experienced, but never a hindrance to our fishing. I would highly recommend both of these guides for a trip. I know both Mike and Melissa divide there time guiding other locations and I am not sure of there availability, but if you are fortunate to be able too fish with them, I have no doubt, you will have a positive experience. They made my first fly fishing trip turn into my new desired hobby.
