Ordered a few 45s online from my favorite Colemine artists. Absolutely blown away with the vinyl quality. As I’ve recently gotten into collecting old 45s, the quality and pressing of these is just top notch reminiscent of how vinyl was back in the day. Exactly what a collector appreciates… good music and quality vinyl and attention to detail. Can’t wait to play these, I know they’ll sound great :)

Fantastic record label! I regularly purchase 45s from their online store, and the experience is always top-notch. Some of my favorite artists on the label include Pale Jay, Kendra Morris, and Monophonics.

If you are like me, a lazy treasure hunter, you will love this place. It's bigger than it looks and the collection is well organized and things are easy to find. They had a solid selection of $3 records but most importantly they had my Cowboy Bebop soundtrack which I had yet to find at multiple record stores. I was there for 15min and walked out with 3 records for $33 total. I will be going back.

Just went there for the first time today....and I was very impressed. A huge selection of vinyl (in alphabetical order) made shopping/locating specific artists very easy. I purchased 13 used albums and their quality was superb. The vinyl on many was flawless. All had their own plastic covers for added protection. The funny thing is I had only reviewed about 60% of the inventory. I will be back to review the remaining 40% very soon.

Great staff. Found out they had extra Taylor Swift Folklore vinyls of Record Store Day. Easy communication on Facebook into email with how to get a chance to reserve one. Super simple. Easy transaction and they ship quickly and well packaged. Didn't overcharge or anything either. Will definitely be contacting them every Record Store Day.

Staff is credibly knowledgeable across a wide variety of genres. Their suggestions were right on point with my taste and opened me up to some new grooves.

A lot of record stores have a lot of hype but fail to deliver. This is not one of those stores. Plaid Room more than exceeded even my loftiest of expectations. It took a lot of restraint to not empty out my bank account during our first trip this past Thursday. Great owners, great staff, and somehow an even better selection of records. Take it from a fellow record shop owner, you need to make this a regular stop in your crate digging adventures!

A hidden gem filled with hidden gems is how I'd describe this great record shop located in scenic old Loveland. If you're on the hunt for new vinyls to fill your growing collection (And who ISN'T these days?), make this spot a destination for sure! Inside the store, you'll find countless new and used selections, with new records on the right and used selections on the left. But you'll wanna look at 'em ALL for SURE! Even the dollar bins hold many treasures to be found and pretty much ALL in GREAT condition.The staff are all friendly and willing to help if you're looking for a particular record. Can't find it there? They'll order it for free! I left with an armload of great selections, as did my girlfriend, and already thinking that we'll absolutely be coming back SOON!

We are lucky to have a store like Plaid Room Records in the Cincinnati area. It is one of the best record stores PERIOD. Not just in Cincinnati, anywhere. The selection they carry is so huge. And the amount and quality of used records they sell seriously boggles the mind. I can't even begin to imagine how they acquire such great, sometimes very rare, used records to sell in their store. They put out all their newly acquired used records every Tuesday and Friday morning, and if you're lucky enough to get there at opening on one of those mornings, you get first dibs on all that they get in. I've unfortunately never been able to make it out there on one of those mornings, but I've still been able to grab some really great stuff from what's left over. Into MoFi recordings? They have a vast section of just mofi. I've never seen a store have a section like this before..I'm sure some do, but I've never been to one personally. It's a great section. I've grabbed a couple titles from the section..they're pricey but definitely worth it for the quality. Speaking of pricing..I would definitely have to say that overall Plaid Room has the best pricing of any other record store in Cincinnati. Stuff here is always a little cheaper than anywhere else..and their pricing on their used records is crazy reasonable. On top of all this they have a website that you can also purchase from that is up to date to the minute (I've actually tested this and its true) of most, not all but most, of the new inventory they have in their store. Since I don't live too close to the store I always check out their website ahead of time to plan out my visits and to make sure I always leave with something I was looking for. They also post videos of all their newly acquired used records on their Instagram page every Tuesday and Friday before opening. I watch these videos and make a mental wish list of all the titles I will be looking out for when I make it out there. Sometimes I'm lucky and the titles I'm hoping to grab are still around..sometimes not so much..but I always find something. Also, you haven't experienced a Record Store Day until you've experienced one at Plaid Room. It's a circus, albeit, a very well planned out and organized circus..it's just such a fun spectacle. This past Record Store Day I made it out there around 11 (they opened at 10)..took a number..and got into the store about 2 and 1/2 hours later. It was well worth the wait tho. They were so well stocked on everything there wasn't a single title that I went there for that I didn't walk out with. It was a lot of fun. I highly recommend checking it out. I haven't even gone into the fact that the owners of Plaid Room also run a label through the store as well..Colemine Records. They put out some amazing Soul Music. Do yourself a favor and check some of their stuff out. Anywho. So yeah, if you're into vinyl and live in the Cincinnati area and haven't been to Plaid Room, drop everything you're doing and go check it out. If you are visiting from out of town, this is THE record store you need to check out. My words don't even do it justice. Don't believe me? Go check it out for yourself, then you'll understand...and you can thank me for it if you feel so inclined.

Stopped in here to buy a gift card for a friend,what a great little spot to look for vinyl.And I say little but there's a ton of stuff in here:all the new stuff,some used in good condition,and a ton of obscure stuff too.

I am totally a fan. The vibe here is totally trendy. I've run past this place a few times on the bike trail, hearing amazing music coming from inside the building. I had to stop in! I had a nice conversation with a few of the workers inside. One of them played music from a new artist they were currently working with and recording their music. I mentioned that I really liked this soul up-town funk band out of Nashville, and he instantly played a new and upcoming artist that sounded just like the band I mentioned. The guys working there know good music! They have some great models for record players -- and it was explained to me why they were good models compared to some other models out there. They were cheaper and guaranteed they would work longer than others mentioned. Overall, I knew these people knew what they were talking about -- and they weren't pushy with trying to make a sale, they just literally wanted other people to have the opportunity to listen to some good music. You could spend hours perusing through their tables of records, but the shop is organized in such a way that you could find what you are looking for if you don't have time to treasure hunt. They have a nice patio out front. You can listen to the music, have a nice conversation right on the bike trail while listening to the tunes -- the perfect escape for a nice summer evening. They also have some great Ohio wear! Their shirts/sweatshirts are stellar. Make sure to check them out! We are lucky to have this shop in Loveland!

Super impressed with Plaid Room Records! Hands down my favorite vinyl shop in the Cincinnati area. When you come in, you are greeted and asked if you need any assistance. I didn't since I knew what I wanted. I was blown away with the selections of used vinyls onsite! Rarities and obscure groups/artists that you can't find in other record shops. Especially Jazz Rock, and Blues. They have a section for newly pressed Vinyls, a listening station, they serve coffee and a patio you can enjoy outside, they special order for free, you can order online (I got the Greta Van Fleet since it was a limited supply and chose the option to pick it up instore instead of shipping), sell clothing, record cleaners and more! It's so organized and love the new release section divided by dates. My boyfriend walked out spending $45.00 on so much used vinyl goodness. Pricing is definitely reasonable! My fave is the dollar bin! I could not believe how much I found in great condition/not too many scratches. A hidden gem located in Old Loveland (near the bike trail. It's a 30 minute hike for us but worth the drive!! Plaid Room Records... you have fans for life and soon to be regulars. Be sure to follow them on Facebook or Instagram (which I am) for updates. I think Plaid Room Records is now at a tie for my favorite record store. (Sugarcube is the other one) My friend and I drove thirty minutes out to Loveland to check this place out. The thirty minute drive was totally worth it. I can't get over how awesome of a record selection this place has. They have the most eclectic record selection and they don't discriminate against any genre. I can't wait to see what else they get in as they start to be around a little longer. I can easily, hands down say they have the best Hip-Hop section out of any record store in the Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky And Dayton areas. If only the other record stores could get on their level with that. Another note, It has really affordable prices on the records. Nothing I found seemed way over price or anything like that. Which is something I can't say about most record stores in the Cincinnati area. What was also cool about this place is that every person that works here was super cool and nice, and made me laugh the whole time I was there. It's nice to go into a record store and not deal with socially awkward or pretentious music snobs. I think for that reason, that's why they have such a great record selection. They seem like they listen to everything in music. Even if you're not crazy about driving out to Loveland, I would still do it. It's worth it.

I live just outside of Atlanta and mail order albums frequently from Plaid Room Records. Everything I order is packed really well, shipped quickly and prices are very reasonable. I've had zero issues with Plaid Room as an online retailer and can only recommend them to the general record buying public. Their inventory system is amazing as well. It seems to be a real-time inventory system and if the website says it's in stock, it's in stock. Kudos to Plaid Room for bumping up the customer service game in the record industry.

One of my absolute favorite record stores I've ever been to. They have something for everyone. There's a wide range of music here from the classics to the brand new, and everything in between. Prices are reasonable, and most of the albums are in excellent, if not brand new condition. So much fun to browse, especially the $1 bin, you never know what gems you can find. Overall highly recommend if you love vinyl!

Over the years, I've lost count of the number of used record stores that I've been in - all over this great country. East coast to west coast, north to south. Hundreds? Probably. Plaid Room is at the top of the list for friendliness, customer service, and selection. Just great guys running a great store. Plus, they had a record in their dollar bin that I'd been trying to find for years. Bonus!

I got an bad vibe when I went into that record store, that's why I gave them 3 stars, it's an nice store and has nice vinyl records, but I don't like going to an place where I feel uncomfortable, so I won't be returning.

Probably has the best (most extensive selection) of box sets, and super deluxe box sets in stock. Pretty cool to be able to check out the box sets in your hand.

There are so many reasons to love this store. The Cole brothers and their staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Selection for both new and used is plentiful and prices are extremely competitive. The store is beautiful, plenty of parking and lots of stores/restaurants/activities to make it a memorable trip. We are luckily to have them in the community.

I always make a stop to Plaid Room Records whenever I am in Loveland. The owner is always so friendly and available to help whenever you have questions or a recommendation if you need one. Everything is generally in stock and priced reasonably. If the album you are requesting is out of stock then don't hesitate to ask if they can order it for you. It is always clean and well organized. Plaid room records also have a record label that has produced some seriously good music. Bonus: the owner has a cute dog that greets you at the door. He's a little shy but you can usually get in a pet or 2. Great service and selection is what keeps me coming back.

A fresh new option for those of us that love music on vinyl! Smart group of people that won't judge you if you want to pick up a Spice Girls 12inch single. (It's for a friend *cough cough*) Great selection, great prices. They know their Soul, and can definitely point you in the right direction if your are looking for suggestions. They can set you up with a turntable, speakers, and their own brand of clothing. (Pretty sure my wardrobe is mostly made up of their T-shirts) There is an in house studio and stage, and they frequently schedule live performances and food trucks. They always seem to get their hands on huge supplies of used vinyl, so the selection rotates quickly. I am updating this review almost a year to the date of their opening and it's safe to say this is my now favorite, go-to record store in Cincinnati.

A cool vintage record store with great deals! We bought 12 records (used) for $45 and they are in great shape. Very nostalgic and fun. We were also grazed by the presence of a cute dog that came running downstairs. I assume the owner's dog.

I'm really happy I had the chance to stop here while in the area. To begin, it's a really clean shop in comparison to most record stores which often have that old, dusty feel to them, and it's noticeable as soon as you walk in the door. So, props to the owner(s) for keeping the place nice and tidy. Another excellent aspect of Plaid Room Records is their large selection of both new and used vinyl; most stores usually focus on one or the other, but there is a great balance between the two here. I was able to buy a new reissue of White Blood Cells, my favorite White Stripes album, and also found used copies of Paul McCartney and the Wings and The 13th Floor Elevators. The staff was very friendly and helpful in assisting customers in their search. I would have liked to spend more time browsing through the oldies, but I was on a strict schedule during my brief visit. If I'm ever in Loveland again I'll definitely be sifting through the vinyl at Plaid Room.

We were in the area to visit another store nearby and I just thought I would peek in. What I found was an extremely well-organized store with great prices. The store was very clean and bright. They have a huge selection of new vinyl and staff was very helpful. I couldn't believe how easy it was to find what I was looking for thanks to their detailed labeling throughout. I didn't have a lot of time to browse but I took home two records at an extremely fair price. Can't wait to get back here and see what else I can find!

Just started collecting vinyl last year, and have been hooked ever since. This is my go-to spot. I have to bring cash and leave my cards at home before coming here, otherwise I'd be bankrupt. They have an excellent selection, and very decent prices. They actually beat Amazon in some cases, and you also get to support a local brick and mortar as opposed to.....I will spare you my Amazon rant. They also have a great discount section, and if you dig you can almost always find a hidden treasure. A must visit for any vinyl aficionado.

What a fantastic little shop. This is just what downtown Loveland needs. As far as local record stores go, this is one of my favorites, and if I lived closer I'd certainly be stopping by often. They have a wide selection of both new and used vinyl and a great organization of genres that makes it relatively easy to flip through the sections I like. In my experience their prices for used vinyl are pretty reasonable, not too far off from the Discogs median prices. And my visits are spread out enough that there's always something new to find when I stop by. If you're in the area, it's definitely worth the stop. This place is as good as the better shops I've found in bigger cities.

I'm obsessed with this place. The guys who work here are super chill and fun to talk to. They have such a great selection of new and used records, and you can sometimes find a treasure in their bargain bin.You can even put a request in for a specific album and they will go out and try to find it for you. I don't think I've ever left here empty-handed. There's also a recording studio inside and a place for live music. I love coming in the summer. The doors are always open and you can even bring your dog in if you've just been for a walk on the bike trail. I've never been disappointed here, I'll keep coming back!

Very well organized and clean storefront. Parking was a bear just because I'm unfamiliar with how and where to park. Store itself is well laid out. Worth the drive.

I cannot truly express how great these people are. I live in California so I've never actually been to the store, but I have ordered from them many times through their website. Not only do they have really competitive prices with a great selection - especially limited releases - but I swear I have placed an order before and they have packed and shipped it within a few hours. It boggles the mind.

If you're looking for vinyl on the East / North side of Cincinnati it doesn't get any better than this. A nice selection of new and old stock, record players and gear, and best of all - friendly employees who are in to music and are eager to help you find something you're looking for. Better yet, they'll help you find something you didn't know you were looking for. Every time I go in there's a steady stream of people coming and going. The total opposite of Parker's Comics and Records down the street. There's a decent record player, amp, and headphones set up if you'd like to sample an album before buying. And a nice section of "staff picks" that I wish they would expand. Haven't been there for live music, but it looks like it would be fun. Even if you're not into vinyl I think most would enjoy a visit - it's just a cool place with cool people. And the prices were surprisingly reasonable too.

I live in Texas and have never actually been to the store. However, I recently ordered some albums through their online store during their 4th anniversary sale. They have very competitive pricing, and the albums I ordered came very quickly and VERY well packaged. These guys truly seem to care about what they are doing. I love the opportunity to be able to spend my money with small businesses. These guys will be one of my first stops from now on whenever I'm searching for some vinyl.

This place doesn't "technically" open till Feb. 14th...but, they're open. I made my first trip there the other day. OUTSTANDING! The guy who owns the joint, Terry, is great. The space is awesome. There's a patio area for outdoor partying and general merriment. But, there's also a stage area inside for awesome shows to come. The record selection is outstanding (And they're not even open yet) Their prices are great....and FINALLY....there's a record store on the Eastside of town. Thank you! Go here...buy stuff...talk to the fellas. You won't be disappointment.

Contrary to popular belief, the most important factor in a great record store is not it's stock of new and used records. If all I wanted was to buy records, I could do that online or at any other record store. What sets Plaid Room apart is it's staff. They are not just ringing up sales and swiping credit cards, anyone can do that. They are tastemakers who never cease to have a recommendation for a great addition to your collection. A record store should be so much more than a place to buy music, it should be a place for people of like minds to hang out, share music and share experiences. In that, Plaid Room Records excels. There's nothing like the community of music lovers that gather at a record store. That being said, their selection of music is fantastic and if they don't have what you're looking for, they'll get it. At most record stores the used stuff is separated into genres, but a Plaid Room, everything is just in alphabetical order. At first it would seem that would make finding records more difficult, but it's actually just the opposite. Records are still easy to find by the artist's name, but along the way, as you flip through the racks, you'll undoubtedly find something unexpected that you may never have seen otherwise. For example, I was just flipping through and came across an original Stax Records pressing of Sam & Dave's "Hold On, I'm Coming." I immediate scooped it up and put it in the growing stack of records I was carrying around to buy. It's finds like that that excite me about going to Plaid Room, and that you simply cannot replicate online. So next time you're looking for something, new or used, buy local and stop by Plaid Room instead of going online. Trust me, you'll enjoy it much more and your money will help keep Plaid Room around for many years to come!

Nearly everything that needs to be said about this place has been covered by prior reviews. The people working here are cool as hell and genuinely geek out about music, which seems more and more rare these days. Sharing jams with other music lovers is what it's all about! It wasn't just some rote record flipping; it was an experience. By the end I got so jazzed up about their label's releases (Colemine Records) they kept playing that I ended up walking out with waaaaay more records than I intended to buy. And you know you can trust any place that's packing a mint Lyn Collins "Think". I'll be making the drive out frequently. Get records here.

Right along the bike trail in Loveland, next to Montgomery Cyclery sits the gem known as Plaid Room Records. It's a great place to listen to live music. Saw The Tillers and Young Heirlooms which was amazing. Plaid Room has an amazing selection of vinyl, a must for any music lover. Definitely check it out!

My new favorite record store (yes, I still love Shake It, Black Plastic, Sugarcube and Everybody's, but someone has to be top of the heap). Terry and Bob are knowledgeable and, quite honestly, hilarious. Just listening to these guys talk back and forth and crack jokes is worth the drive from downtown. Add in that this is the home of Colemine Records and that the occasional funk or soul throwdown happens up on the in-store stage, and you've got a recipe for a big win. Super chill atmosphere. Great to hang out in and shoot the s***. Selectionwise, they're still building up their used records. I have found a few gems out there, though. Their new record selection is quite good. Prices for the most part reasonable, if not cheap on some items. On Record Store Day 2015, I got there and found Terry grilling out breakfast sandwiches and handing them out for free. That's the kind of guys those dudes are. Most fun I've ever had on Record Store Day, or in a record store overall. Also, they tell me that they hope to host a lot of live shows there, beginning this summer. Go check it out -- it's in downtown Loveland, right on the Little Miami Bike Trail.

I love plaid room records with all of my heart!! Not only do they offer a HUGE variety of vinyls (both new and used), but everything is also at a very reasonable price. Every time I visit, I feel welcomed by the staff and the overall vibe of the place. Additionally, I never feel pressured to buy anything if I'm just browsing, which makes for a very comfortable shopping experience. Even my grandma shops at plaid room! Plus, the groovy music they always have playing creates a scene like no other.

Stopped in today for the first time and was quite pleased with what I found. A very well-curated selection of all genres at very reasonable prices. I was pleasantly surprised by the variety and quantity of metal records! Bonus points for having a dedicated section for the MoFi/audiophile releases, as well. TONS of high quality used records to boot! The staff was friendly and helpful. A very pleasant record shopping experience. I'm kicking myself for not stopping in sooner, but can't wait to come back!!

Excellent place to find new and used vinyl and you can't leave empty-handed. The store is clean and well-organized and the guys who work there are very chill and have a great knowledge base. We will be back!

A relatively new and unique record store that upon first impression I thought that it had been opened for years. What sets record stores apart and what I found to be the most redeeming quality about this store was its approachable, friendly and interesting staff. They helped me find what I was looking for, gave me advice about a problem that I had with my turntable, and shared the history of the store with me. I got great vibes upon entering and the collection of new and used vinyl was the largest I've seen. Where I live, record stores are scarce, so the only times I get to discover stores is when I am on the road for business or on a trip. This store has earned its spot on the top of my list of favorite record stores.

Plaid Room is a very awesome place! I've been collecting records for a long time and have visited all the shops local to Cincinnati and this place is by far the best! The people who work there are not your usual pretentious music snobs. They are super friendly and very fun! They elevate your shopping experience. The shop itself is very clean and organized. There prices are more than fair and are pretty much the best around. Good selection! They even have FREE live music there quite often. The only downside is it can be difficult to find the first time you go. It's behind the bike shop in old Loveland right next to the Bike Trail. I highly recommend Plaid. They friggin ROCK!!!!

Great place to find new and used vinyl. Don't come on your bike, you won't have anywhere to stow all the cool records you pick up (lesson learned)!

Plaid room is everything you could ask for in an independent record shop. With everything from a growing inventory of new and used records to record players, t-shirts, and more, look no further. These guys have helped me out several times. They're very knowledgeable about all things music, always have a great selection, and have some awesome tunes playing in the shop. Don't shop at the big box stores for your records. Buy your vinyl local, and Plaid Room is a great spot.
