If we are in Stockholm again we shall definitely stay here. It's like staying in a nautical museum and the front desk staff were great! Such an interesting hotel, our Captains Double Room was spacious and the bed was huge! In our room the blinds didn't really shut out daylight, so I'd advise you take a sleeping mask if this might keep you awake. Coffee/Tea for us was a communal arrangement out on the landing, which worked well. When our flight got cancelled/delayed 24 hours, reception could not have been more helpful in arranging to extend our stay, thankfully in the same room. Breakfast was a self-serve buffet arrangement and there was plenty of choice for all tastes. The location is also great on Gamla Stan, just a couple of minutes walk from the Gamla Stan metro station, that connects in one stop to the central station, a supermarket and the main Gamla Stan attractions/nearby restaurants. Do take advantage of the wealth of knowledge offered by the front desk - we got great restaurant recommendations and visited Vaxholm on the ferry at a fraction of the price of the tour boats, thanks to their advice.

Really cute hotel located in the centre of everything. All the staff were really helpful and the breakfast was the best we had in the 3 weeks travelling around Europe. Highly recommend and will be back if we come to Stockholm again. Best wishes to the whole team!

The hotel itself is adorable. The decor is charming and quaint and it just has that wonderful boutique feel that my sister and I love. The only downside was the wine garden literally right outside our bedroom window. Oh my goodness. We were so jetlagged that we were able to sleep despite the noise, but that was a lot. If you like wine gardens that are open until midnight during certain months of the year then this is probably the ideal hotel for you. If you prefer quiet hotels, then check the wine garden schedule and if you're traveling while the wine garden is happening, skip this hotel and find another one.||The breakfast was magnificent. And I love the atmosphere of the meal area. We ate in the little cubby inside the old stone wall!||I would happily stay again, but I would definitely not book if I knew the wine garden was happening.

We arrive early from America. We knew our room would not be ready so we dropped our luggage and off we went. The front desk men were all awesome! The friendly, curious attitudes were very much welcome and appreciated. The hotel sits on a cobblestone street across from the museum. There is nostalgic nautical art exhibits throughout each floor along with many other antiques. Each floor has a cart with an electric kettle, cups, tea and coffee so you can self serve anytime you want. The restaurant is a Michelin star attached to the hotel and bar on the same level as the lobby. The breakfast buffet was in the cellar where the huge array of wines are stored. The breakfast was on of the best Ive ever had in many of the countries Ive been too! Egg, bacon, sausage, pancakes, yogurt, cereal, meats, caviar, lox and on and on. Homemade peanut butter and jam, smoothies and freshly squeezed juice. AMAZING. The sauna can be booked at the reception desk. The plunge pool was not operational but didn’t bother us one bit. The room (105) was a perfect size for 2. Hygiene products in the shower and qtips, make-up pads and temporary tattoos at the sink. Yes, temporary tattoos. Something to talk about! The rain head shower was good but the smaller head shower even better. Theres a heated towel rack so your towel stays fresh for several days as opposed to single use. Theres is a sample of wine and dark chocolate along with water bottles in your room and if you ask at the desk for water they will give you a bottle. We were given a credit for food or beverage which we happily used. The food here is 5 star! Really delicious! I wouldn’t change one thing about our stay except to stay longer. Well done Victory Hotel and exceptional stay!

Staying at the Victory is like staying in a museum in that it has so many interesting nautical artifacts, it must have taken a very long time to put it all together, fascinating. The hotel is in a great location for restaurants and shops and is about 10min walk to the ferries. Very good breakfast in the basement which, in itself, is a fascinating room. We had a Captain room 307, very good size, massive bed, large bathroom, all in excellent order. Although there is no tea and coffee facility in the room, each floor has a coffee station set up in a corridor with kettle and all supplies, so really not a problem at all. The only slight niggle is the bar. It is quite a small area and we could never get a drink there as it was always full of diners, we think, from outside of the hotel. Evening meals were served upstairs on the outside terrace as well.

We stayed 3 nights in a spacious 1 bedroom apartment connected to this hotel opposite the Post Museum and close to everything in the Gamla Stan district but just a block back from the hustle and bustle of the main restaurant streets. Great variety of restaurants and cafes less than 5 minutes walk away. Washing machine and drying rack were handy. All appliances worked well. The underfloor heating in the bathroom was most welcome. Co-op (supermarket) was only a 10 minute walk away for supplies. There was no safe in our room. We would highly recommend this apartment connected to the Victory Hotel to our family and friends visiting the Gamla Stan district of Stockholm.

Interesting historic building, as well as interesting collections displayed there. Clean and comfortable. Friendly staff. Only drawback is outside noise if you open the windows - highway nearby and street noise below. Breakfast buffet is fantastic. Location is great for all the sites and restaurants and shopping and waterfront.

This Eclectic Quaint Hotel in Gamla Stan Old town Sweden is an incredible experience in itself. The rooms are each themed to a past Captain in History. The lobby has ships and nautical treasures from the past. Breakfast is hearty, varied, fresh and delicious. You will love your stay here. The Staff all very helpful, cheerful, and friendly. Would return for sure for future Stockholm visits!

Yelp
Cozy, quaint, clean, well operated. The entire place doubles as a maritime museum, which is really friggin cool. If you want night life there is an adjoining bar that is open well last midnight (not sure about the tired 80s music constantly being played...). Small little touches like free coffee/tea available on every floor and a container of port wine free in each room are both surprising and nice. The rooms are a little small but have all the creature comforts. Pillows are numerous and the bed is soft and comfy. Although the Victory is in the heart of Gamla Stan it is relatively quiet in the area late at night and early mornings....good sleep was in the cards for us. The breakfast is also free, and is pretty darn good! I highly recommend the Victory is you are open to something traditionally Swedish. Will come back for sure.

Yelp
Great find in the historic Gamla Stan section in Stockholm. Situated within a fifteen minute walk of the Central train station, the Victory Hotel is ideal for a home base while doing some sight seeing. There is also a subway stop close-by to cut the walk by half. On our recent stay we were amazed at the friendliness of the staff and the lengths they went to ensure we had a nice stay. Our room was clean and comfortable and although the building was very old, we had some creature comforts we didn't expect. Heated towel bars in a very nice and up-to-date bathroom. Dimming accent lights so you didn't bang around the room while the mad Russian ( aka Sveta, my love) was sleeping. An evening port wine cordial set up on a tray when we returned from a full day and night of sightseeing. There is an elevator right in the lobby that will take you to your floor and allow you to see the uncountable number of nautical ships and paraphernalia on display throughout the hallways and in your room. Literature describes the family's history and tells how an obsession with collecting became the theme for the family business. Prices were very reasonable and although we arrived very early in the morning the day of our arrival, they checked us in and let us have a nap in our room hours before check-in. While visiting Stockholm, you'd be hard pressed to do better.

Yelp
Did I stay at a different hotel? Because I sure as heck don't understand the 100% five star rating this place has earned. Maybe my husband and I got the worse room in the place, I don't know... but our stay at Victory Hotel was not a five star experience. My husband and I booked our weekend stay at Victory Hotel through Jetsetter. We haven't had any problems with the hotels that Jetsetter has showcased so we fully trusted their recommendation for our short trip. Now, I get the building's historical significance. I thought it was super interesting that the building was built on a medieval defense tower, but my interest in the hotel stops there. Yes, the hotel is nautical themed and full of "antique" decor. However, there's "antique" and just plain crap and Victory Hotel, leans more towards crap. The furniture looked like it hadn't been replaced/reupholstered/updated since the 70s. It was definitely not "vintage," or "quirky," more "kitschy" and just plain old. On top of that, the room was not very clean. There were visible dark stains on the mattress that you could see through the bed sheets and white stains of unidentified origin on the carpet. The chandelier was hanging by the wires and not secured. The desk had stains from cups/drinks that apparently were not cleaned. Lastly, the safety deposit box had no key, because it had "gone missing." The staff member that we encountered for the majority of our stay was direct and cordial, albeit a bit cold. Of course on our last day, we encountered the nicest staff member in the place. The location is what earns this place 2 stars. It's walking distance to everything.

Yelp
The most quirky and delightful hotel in old town, Stockholm. Several excellent restaurants in the building or down the street. The staff were very very very helpful and a port is brought to you each night in your room. The theme is very nautical and curiosities are everywhere. Highly recommend staying here but only 45 rooms, so book ahead.

Yelp
Great place! Location was fantastic but the staff is what made it truly memorable. Would highly recommend to friends.

Yelp
Charming and lovely collectors hotel in the heart of old town. Block away from metro or if you choose you can walk everywhere in the beautiful scenery since everything is close. As an owner of couple of timeshares with major hotel chain ( which we love too) the Victory Hotel brought you something different, vintage and original. I felt like I was in old times in my tiny cozy single room with chandelier and comfortable bed. Spent 4 days in town over the weekend and got a good price with breakfast included via Travelocity. Everyone spoke good English. If you enjoy historic charm and appreciate deviation from the mainstream hotels I highly recommend you to experience The Victory Hotel.
