The Colleoni Chapel in Bergamo’s Upper Town, Piazza Duomo, is a Renaissance gem commissioned by Bartolomeo Colleoni as his mausoleum. Built between 1472 and 1476 by Giovanni Antonio Amadeo, it replaced part of Santa Maria Maggiore, sparking controversy. Today, it stands as a symbol of artistic and historical grandeur.

A true gem in Bergamo! The architecture is stunning, and the details inside are incredible. Definitely worth a visit if you're exploring the old town!

For €2.30, you get to see one of Italy’s most beautiful chapels. The details, colors, and sculptures are just incredible

Asking an entrance fee AND not being allowed to take pictures is unacceptable. Especially because of all the damage the catholic church has caused to humanity Allowing free visits is the least they should do for reparations

Absolutely spectacular baroque church!!! Limited hours. Check website. Weekends can get a little busy but this is the most special church we have seen in Europe so don’t miss it! Have fun!

While many are drawn to the quirky three testicles on Colleoni's family emblem outside on the fence (which is definitely worth a peek or even a touch for good luck), I highly recommend stepping inside. And see its ornate architecture, frescoes and sculptures. It's clear Colleoni wanted to leave behind a truly remarkable legacy. It's a powerful and beautiful testament to his heritage. Don't miss the chance to explore the interior – it's an unforgettable experience! And you just need to put 1 Euro (or more to enter).

The tickets are 5 euros (used to be free), however I think it was worth to pay, since I could not take my eyes off the artwork. Very beautiful and majestic, worth a visit

Must see in Bergamo but to not be able to take fotos inside is ridiculous. Very crowded over the weekend since it is besides the main attraction besides the basilica
