My husband and I decided to stay here due to the good reviews, and also the price was great.|The hotel is a house that was converted into a hotel. At night the views are pretty. Our room which was located behind the front desk was more on the small side. The room being so close to the front desk had some noise but it was bearable, it did feel less private though. |Unfortunately, and being something very important to me I am giving this hotel a low rate because the bathroom had cleanliness issues. There were hairs in the tub and toilet. Again, I don't mind not staying in luxurious places but cleanliness to me is basic and most important. |I hear the restaurant is great, so we are going to give it a try...

I love this hotel. It is small but the service is great. The staff is excellent. I do not speak Spanish but they were so helpful and just always willing to please. The front desk staff was great. I only remember the name of one, Itzel. She was very helpful in helping to find activities of my interest. It was good also to speak in English with someone since my stay in Mexico was very long. The restaurant staff were excellent the morning server and the afternoon server were good gentlemen and because my diet was restricted they always tried to makes sure I had a variety of dishes to eat with my specifications. And housekeeping was very nice as well. I spent a lot of time at night in the restaurant on my computer enjoying the weather. The room was very nice very clean. All in all it was an excellent stay.

It is a 60’s/70’s art decor hotel which would’ve been great during its time, however it is now tired and worn and the decor is still from that time. We had a terraced room overlooking the pool on the bottom floor and it was filthy. Lady tried to tell me it was the wind. The inside and outside of the fridge was dirty, I wiped the inside with a tissue and it came back black. I asked the receptionist to clean the room again and they just came along and wiped it with a dry cloth. I took the trays out of the fridge and washed them in the sink. The dresser top I wiped down, tissue was brown with dirt. The duvet covers were stained. Mould on the curtains. The plastic coffee maker had solid dirt on the button which I wiped. The safe didn’t work (had no batteries), I touched the tiles in the bathroom and it was dusty. Room smelled musty. Air con packed up when we were there aswell. External areas didn’t look like it had been swept in months. Pool was murky and dirty, this is a health hazard. The area around the pool wasn’t very pleasant. Am not sure how this hotel has got good ratings in the past. It has the potential to be good if more care and attention was taken with cleaning and make sure things in the room worked.

This must be the best price/quality you can get for a Boutique Hotel... the rooms are very clean and all the areas are pretty much nice to enjoy... the service is OK, not the very best you can get, but I really can't complain, helpful at the end. The location is superb, the town square is about 7 min walking, so there is no need for car, if you plan to go anywhere near downtown. I've been in Xalapa many times, and this is a really good place to stay for the price. The fee includes 2 breakfast for every night you stay. Good design, good decoration in general, nice food, good price... you plan to go resting? don't hesitate.

Clean, hot water, quiet. The problem was that they didn´t had the restaurant open on a sunday night. I was able to get food via Uber Eats.||Beds comfortable. Has air conditioning (only for cooling). Breakfast was decent.

The hotel itself has a dark atmosphere. The front desk staff wasn't too attentive or friendly. Prices are on the higher side for what you get. The pool looked dirty. Location is okay. Overall okay but next time I'd probably stay somewhere else.

The staff was very friendly and helpful and the hotel and rooms decoration was great, however, we got the room 301, the one that another post mentions and it was very noise, it is located about 3 meters from an event place so there is noise until late night. For the next night we asked for a room change and we got room 501 which had a wall with humidity so the whole room was smelly and the air was heavy, we tried to stay there but after 2 hours we couldn't be there anymore so we asked for another room.||||The last room was OK, it was on the top floor so it had some water pressure issues. ||||In general, we would stay in this hotel again but will try to find an alternative.

This is indeed a very nice hotel; elegant, workers are extremely attentive from reception to room service to waiters food is great and very close to the university. BUT and it is a huge BUT. DO NOT under any circumstances accept room 301 RIO. It is a disaster. The electric pump that gives pressure to the water system is connected to the room and it runs at all hours. It actually vibrates the bed. It is amazing that the owners of this elegant hotel have done nothing to stop this problem, which with a submersible pump the room would be habitable. So with that I share with all.
