Loved loved our visit to Colony Grill today. Yummy Yummy pizza! Leana welcomed us with the biggest smile, accommodated us despite how busy they were. She checked on us several times to make sure we were good. Also made the most awesome drink😁 Pizza crust is thin, crispy and soooooooo tasty!!!! Love love. My son's new fav... we will definitely be back❤️❤️🍕 My 9 year old daughter said "Ms. Leana was So Nice and has a great spirit"! Enjoyed CG!!💞💞💞

Google
Consistently quality pizza with a thin crust and loads of flavor. Not apizza (New Haven), but closer to a cracker crust without the brunt edges/pockets of the New Haven style. Everything from a cheese to a hot oil to a pepperoni delivers on flavor. It's well rationed, packed with flavor, and not heavy. Crispy and not floppy, this pizza is absolutely worth a stop. The hot oil is the specialty, but any pizza you pick will deliver. Crowded around dinner time and can get loud (bar type environment) but generally there is always a table without a wait. Service is friendly and prompt. A no frills place with a simple menu that delivers.

Google
Came after Yankee game (good advertising) 20 minute wait Sunday 5pm isn’t bad at all. Service from staff is quick and efficient, nothing over the top. You could put this place in talks with the New Haven pizza spots. A male owner/manager was sure to say goodbye to us which felt nice. Nothing from staff. Bottled soda would be nice at a place like this

Google
A great family friendly restaurant serving some of the best Pizzas in Fairfield. We stumbled upon this restaurant and delighted to report it is fantastic. The Pizzas are delicious, thin crust, with the best toppings, they arrive extra hot and bubbly with a wonderful char around the edges. We had Blue Moon beers with ours (our favorite tipple) but there is a great selection of beers and wines plus they have a lovely bar area as well. Definitely worth a visit.

Google
My favorite pizza in CT is colony in Fairfeild. We come here every few weeks and it’s amazing every-time. I do think you have to eat the pizza fast because after 10 minutes it’s cold which sucks. I wish they could have a heat lamp at every table to keep the other pieces warm while you eat the first few. I know that would be too much of a hassle but it would be cool! Our date night is colony grill in Fairfeild and then over to 16 handles for fro-yo to take home! Staff at colony is always great. We have never had a problem.

Google
1 page menu. Thin crust pizza. Just choose your toppings. Casual dining. Good selection of beer. Sports bar, family friendly dining, pizza got eaten as soon as it landed on our table.

Google
Loved it! Great atmosphere, service was good and the pizza was delicious. If you can handle spicy, I would definitely go for the hot oil.

Google
Very chill place. I love their thin crust pizza, and the hot oil is the best to me honestly. Preferred eaten hot.. If not it does loose its spark

Yelp
Super cool place. Liked the vibe on a Sunday evening which was surprisingly jam packed. Pizza was good. I ordered a breakfast pizza with both sausage and bacon. Loved the sausage, not a fan of the bacon. My friend ordered the salad pizza which I tried and also enjoyed. Tasted like a salad, duh, and the crust acted as croutons. Rather unique.

Yelp
Hopping spot with quick seating, good pizza, efficient and pleasant service. The restaurant was teaming with patrons but we were seated by a hostess and greeted by a server in a very timely and friendly way. This here is thin-thin-thin crust pizza, so know that before you go. Also, nothing but pizza on the menu. Hot oil pizza is a must. Srsly, it is very tasty and not so hot to be off putting for those worried about too spicy.

Yelp
Great locations. Many pizza choices. Have never gone wrong here. Always a good oprion

Yelp
My bf and I stopped by for a late dinner on the way to nyc and we were very impressed! I've heard good things about Connecticut pizza, but this was the first time having it. We ordered our own pizzas because they looked small enough but looks are deceiving. I got bacon, olives, and hot oil (as recommended by other reviews) and it was delicious! I wish the pizza was a little spicier, and wish I subbed the bacon for something else as it made the pizza greasier but overall I really enjoyed it. The service was a little slow, which was surprising because the restaurant itself wasn't very busy. Nonetheless we still had a great time and would love to come back again!

Yelp
My absolute favorite for thin crust pizza -- must get the hot oil. This pizza is best when you eat it at the restaurant, versus takeout, but always a staple and go-to of mine when I'm in the area.

Yelp
Love colony grill! They're probably my favorite pizza spot in the whole state! The staff is very friendly and the menu is straightforward! My favorite is their hot oil pepperoni!!! It's not too spicy but has a very flavorful heat to it!

Yelp
I'm a New Haven native and pizza is such a thing. I came here twice as I thought maybe the first time was off. Nope. I really don't understand why the high reviews and comparison for the best pizza around. It's thin crust -- I'll give it that. But too thin. I just wasn't a fan. I know it's a staple to the area and people seem to love it, and hopefully they'll continue to thrive. Just wasn't my thing. Friend had a hot oil pizza and I had a pepperoni and onion. She's not from the area but also agreed that it wasn't a pizza she's come back to order again.

Yelp
We were visiting from out of town. This was where we ended up. This was our first visit but not for people that we were with. This was during Thanksgiving week, and the place was packed but was able to be seated within 5 minutes. The service was good. The menu has one item - pizza. There are no starters and desserts. NO OTHER OPTIONS. Everyone ordered their own pizza with various topping. The three that ordered with at least hot oil as one of the toppings loved their pizza. It's packed with flavors. It's not too spicy at all. I ordered one with mushrooms and onions. Not the greatest choices. Onions were very thinly sliced rings, not a good way to have onions on a pizza. With only these two toppings, it did not give the pizza much flavor. However, I did try a piece with the hot oil, which is definitely the way to go. I wish there were starters and more topping options, but I guess that is not the concept for the restaurant. Overall, it was a good experience and tasty pizzas (with the right toppings). I would eat the pizzas from here again.

Yelp
This place came highly recommended. I don't get it. Average at best. Maybe good for someone else but not my favorite.

Yelp
I wasn't a huge fan of the pizza here. I think it's mainly for those who enjoy thin crust pizzas. I'm more of a fan of the regular pizza, so my cheese pizza tasted bland / like cardboard. The service was amazing though and everyone was super friendly. Just not my kinda pizza.

Yelp
Simply the Best ! It's a thin crust. The sauce is sweet. Can't be beat. Try the hot oil Pizza. Huge Fan

Yelp
I've been a fan of Colony since 2007 when a friend introduced me to their pizza with the hot chili oil at their Stamford location. Since then there are several locations that have popped up, but this one is my favorite as it is large and parking is easy to find. If you haven't tried colony, this will be a different experience for you. Their main attraction is their thin crust pizza and the one that you can order with the chili oil is the best. You can add several other topiings to it, but even at the most basic state, i.e cheese pizza alone, they are really good. The best part is that the price is extremely reasonable, even in these days where pizza's start at like $20+, these are still very affordable. The service here can be a bit slow as it is a very popular spot, both with families and corporate workers, and the bar side can get very loud. Still I have founsd the staff here to be very pleasant and accomodating even when the house is full. Non Fairfield county folks, this is a must try to get an experience of what Fairfield has to offer.

Yelp
Great pizza, great service, great beer. This is our go-to place after we go do some work on the boat during the week after work. The hot oil pizza is so good. I love a thin crust pizza and this is thin! It's always busy in this location, but we were seated right away. The service was quick. The one thing I don't like is it's toooo loud. Lately it has been filled with teens and you can't hear the conversation at your own table. It usually starts emptying out around 8:00 and then it's better.
google avatar

Sara N.

Yelp
The pies here are always hot & fresh. The service is typically really good, but at times they get ridiculously busy. There can be really long waits for both a table, & the food coming out once were seated. Food is always on point though. My favorite things to get here are Pepperoni w/Hot oil & the salad pizza, w/cheese. Yum!!
google avatar

Aditi S.

Yelp
Came back here yesterday and I can't say enough. It was busy and the hostess told us it would be a 45 min wait, but we were seated in 20 min. I got a Twisted Tea, and we got three pizzas: 1. Half cheese, half sausage 2. Hot oil, stingers, and half olive 3. Salad pizza Everything came out promptly and tasted amazing! Hands down one of the best thin crust pizza places I've tried! I can't wait to come back!
google avatar

Sarah K.

Yelp
One of my favorite pizza places!! Must order the pepperoni mushroom and then add salad to half! When the pizza comes, ask for extra dressing. Promise you won't be disappointed!
google avatar

Steph W.

Yelp
We came around 5pm on a Saturday and it was filling up fast. We got seated in a booth and the service was attentive. This place is good for little kids as it's loud so you're not disturbing your neighbors. Ordered the pizza with stingers (whole roasted spicy peppers), hot oil, and sausage. This was my first time eating the famous Connecticut super thin pizza and bear in mind that I'm a Nyer! I didn't love the pizza but it was good. I would have omitted the hot oil as it made the pizza to slippery and did not amplify the taste. The personal pizza size could probably feed 1.5 people. As someone who eats spicy, I didnt think the stingers were too hot and the hot oil had a small hint.
google avatar

Don Y.

Yelp
Pleasantly surprised at this place. The pizza was unique and delicious. The crust was chewy and crispy at the same time. We tried the meatball and hot oil pepperoni. We also tried the Gluten free pizza. I would highly recommend

Yelp
Avid customer of the Stamford location but I was in the area and placed a large order last night. Disappointed would be putting it lightly. You would think with so many people working that someone would help with the door when a customer is walking out with such a large order but nope (mind you it was dead inside). That was the first red flag. Second was the quality of the pizza it was by far the worst tasting colony I've ever had and I've grown up on colony Stamford. This pizza was 1/2 the size of the box, Pringle thin, and the taste and presentation was off. Definitely won't be coming back to this location that's for sure. Disappointing.

Vincent O.

Yelp
I have been going here and the Stamford locations for many years. The best was the original. The chain has gotten worse since all the new locations opened up. Why does there need to be a colony in St. Petersburg Florida? It's been gentrified anyway the pizza has gotten greasier, cheesier, and sweeter as the years go on. The sauce is basically ketchup now. Why go here when you could have Riko's?
google avatar

Lisa Y.

Yelp
I just love the crispy thin crust pizzas! Most places I'll go to the cheesy areas are so soggy or greasy but not colony! Delicious fresh from the oven. I got the hot oil, sausage and mushroom toppings and tried some of my friends salad pizza. Absolutely the best!! This review will probably side more with thin crispy crust pizza lovers though. Too each their own.
google avatar

Rocco D.

Yelp
They have a great selection of beer and more importantly for people w gluten intolerance 2 very good ciders and a cauliflower pizza which was actually good. The pizza is reasonably priced for the large portion you receive. This place is managed properly and it shows. We always have a good time there.
google avatar

Jhamar W.

Yelp
Ordered on a Friday night. It was extremely busy so I placed an order for pickup. They said it would be ready in 25 minutes which it was. The only thing was my pizza was still doughy. $30 for 2 uncooked pizzas, never again.
google avatar

Yelp
Oh man, Colony Grill. So many pizza places in CT and yet somehow this place is unique: hot oil personal thin crust pizzas. Hard to describe really but altogether delectable. Grab a personal pie and a frosty drink with friends. That's what this place is all about. Special note on the always fabulous service: Jonathan and James (who was only in training) were great.
google avatar

Nicole R.

Yelp
The pizza at colony is superior to anything around us... favorites are anchovies (just try it- promise its amazing) the cherry pepper, and the hot oil with stingers! However, black olive was darn good too! It's busy- plan for a wait. It's worth it! Service is slow but good. Pizzas are thin so plan on ordering more than typical- we had 5 people and ordered 6 pizzas (and yes... we ate them all. We wanted to try so many combos , it just happened and we weren't sorry! Yelp
Heard about Colony Grill from the kids, who come here with their friends, and love it! Today we were in the neighborhood and decided to find out for ourselves what our kids love about it. Colony is not your typical pizza joint, but an Irish pizza sports bar imho. Which I didn't mind cause they had Euro 2020 on one of the TV's and my country The Netherlands were playing Ukraine. So I could try their pizza and watch soccer. The pizza menu is set up real simple. You got your pizza $9.99 and a list of toppings, each $1.75 and two specialty pizza's. The pizza's are thin crust, but not as thin as the St. Louis style pizza. And one pie is enough for one person, but you cold share 1 if you just want to snack. Again this is imho. The pizza is great, I love that you can fold it, and echt slice is a good size bite. I understand why my kids like it, and I might swing by again when The Netherlands play this Euro 2020.

Yelp
awesome place. Great staff. very accommodating and helpful. thank you we ll come back again.

Justo ..

Yelp
pizzas here be bussin it's a very neat nice restaurant and it has a great location in downtown

Maury W.

Yelp
What they do, make Pizza, they do as well as anybody else. For the price, it is the best pizza around. They feel a niche for pizza. It's a great restaurant to have in the neighborhood.

Fran P.

Yelp
Great thin crust pizza thats actually affordable in Fairfield! Stinger pie was awesome if you love peppers.
google avatar

Bianca M.

Yelp
Great vegan pizza !! Thin crust, vegan cheese, and delicious. Happy they continue to have vegan options. Some like to add the hot oil over the vegan cheese but I'm basic so it's perfect just the way it is!

Yelp
I am not a fan of stingy this place has gotten with their toppings. This is the cold cut definition of mediocre, overpriced, and overrated pizza. I would much rather just buy a cheap frozen pizza from a grocery store and call it a night. In addition, the tap here has issues. If you order a beer or a soda here, it is noticeably flat each and every time. On almost every occasion, I have had to ask my server for a new drink because my initial one was bland and flat. Considering that this is a bar that has been here for over a decade, it should be expected that this restaurant has an issue like this figured out by now. But no.

Yelp
I've been to Colony in Milford before and thought the pizza was pretty decent. My boyfriend and I were around downtown Fairfield so we stopped in for a quick lunch. I got the bacon pizza while he got the meatball. He was disappointed for 3 reasons - for how little meatball there was on the pizza, for how tasteless the meatball pieces were, and how off the crust was. I mean really, 2 small pieces of meatball on a slice? The meat was under seasoned and the crust was a little underdone compared to mine. The service was good, there is parking out back and I was able to pay my bill from my phone which was convenient. Unfortunately I will be skipping this place next time and trying out a different pizza joint if I'm in the area.

Yc W.

Yelp
It's a very popular pizza place according to my relatives in CT, so we give it a try for an eatly celebrating Mother's Day dinner. 28 minutes wait seems reasonable given the popularity. Food comes fast enough, but boy the crust is so crispy and thin which made me doubt " is this a pizza?" We talked to the waitress and she joked the people made the pizzas must be working out. Hmmm, not the reaction I expected. Not so sure it is a store for return visit.

Matthew T.

Yelp
For a while I was going here on a weekly basis. Absolutely love their pizza though I can see why some may not. They tend to be very consistent and the toppings are of the highest quality. Highly reccommend the hot oil!
google avatar

Sean J.

Yelp
To answer your question, yes, the pizza is great! but not worth the wait. It is crowded no matter the location, and the wait is always forever. Both times at different locations wait to be seated is always 30+ and then once your in its so packed it's hard to get help. The drinks menu is super small. The pizza makes up for it as it is a perfect personal size!

Lisa L.

Yelp
Pizza is amazing, service great, the only terrible thing is the music. The owners insist on BLASTING old school rock music that my 70 year old father would love. Regardless of multiple complaints, the music and loudness will not be changed.
google avatar

Yelp
I finally got around to trying Colony Grill last week. I didn't realize that the menu is literally all pizza, which is fine because that's why we were there, but it would've been cool to see some diversity. The hot oil pizza, which is widely revered, was solid, though I have to admit that I prefer New Haven style to this kind of bar pizza. The crust hardened a little faster than I would've liked and ended up giving my jaw a good workout. But in the end it was tasty and the staff there was friendly.
google avatar

Anish B.

Yelp
Their super thin pizza is ridiculously good. We had 1 pie topped with hot oil and stingers (peppers) which was delicious and tongue-numbing. We had 1 pie with bacon and pepperoni - definitely the best pizza of my life! I always order the bacon and pepperoni combo at pizza places, but Colony Grill's version deserves an A+. Super crispy and perfect. Awesome location in downtown Fairfield near the shops, bookstore, gazebo, ice cream, train stations, movie theater, etc.
google avatar

Christine C.

Yelp
Hot oil + mushroom pizza = happy me. Great beer section, I got to try one from a local CT brewery. If I lived closer, I'd be here every weekend! Delicious food, super fast service. I like how casual the setting is, this is a great spot to bring a group of foods for a bite.
google avatar

Gabrielle S.

Yelp
Best pizza in Fairfield! Super thin and delicious. Ambiance is casual and fun. A Connecticut staple which is perfect for a relaxed night out to dinner.
google avatar

Karina D.

Yelp
The pizza is AMAZING my boyfriend and I stopped for a quick bite late the other night and our waitress was really friendly and the food was really good!
google avatar

Rhea A.

Yelp
Colony grill pizza isn't for everyone, but if you like thin crust pizza you might absolutely love colony grill. We usually order the hot oil pizza and the salad pizza. I'm not a huge fan of pizza overall, but if I were to get pizza I love the salad pizza. Instead of vegetables being cooked in the sauce, they put a really good salad (as in the dressing is reallllyyyy good) on top of pizza (always add sauce and cheese for best taste). The hot oil is a solid somewhat spicy pizza. The pizza tastes very eh if it is made for takeout bc it cools down and looses its flavor a lot.
google avatar

Karen W.

Yelp
Love love love the thin crust pizza. Salad pizza, yes! Great for families. My grandson is extremely fussy and loves this. He and I had date night there, he's 7 and a lot of fun! Take out is better, just because it's very loud when busy. Acoustics? Service was above average. Therefore, food and service great. It's just so noisy! I guess they have no control over that. I adjusted to the noise level eventually. Don't stay away because of that and miss out on the wow pizza. So it's not a warm cozy hole in the wall. Parking in back and seems to be plenty. Yes, I'd go for it!
google avatar

Kerri D.

Yelp
This was my first time at this location, as every other time I've tried to go it was always too long of a wait. A Saturday afternoon for lunch was perfect. Our server was attentive and the food was great. I got a pepperoni pizza and my boyfriend got meatball. We got a side of hot oil to drizzle on as we wanted. It was nice and quiet when we were there, with more families and less college kids. Would definitely return.

Puppy L.

Yelp
Awful service. Absolutely terrible customer support and no way I would ever come back. NEVER RECOMMENDING THIS PLACE TO ANYONE! Thank you Managers!

Bailey K.

Yelp
I have never been talked to like how I was here by MANAGER Alesia. Horrible HORRIBLE customer service. Absolutely never coming back here again. Beyond ridiculous.

Yelp
I absolutely love they're pizza and the look of the place is amazing so eat pizza there if you love pizza

Yelp
My wife and I ordered takeout from Colony Grill in Fairfield on a Saturday afternoon while our son was having a play date at the nearby Sandcastle Playground. I'm from the New Haven area so I was raised on New Haven-style Apizza. My wife, however, is originally from Stamford: home of the original location of Colony Grill. She was raised on this style. Colony Grill's specialty is Tavern (or Bar)-style pizza. Tavern-style is not just found in one specific location. This style can be found almost anywhere in the country. Its origins are cloudy, but the style was popularized by several bars, taverns and pubs by putting pizza dough directly into a shallow pan. What you end up with is a personal-sized pizza with a cracker-thin oily crust. Perhaps the inventors of this style thought that if the pizza was really thin then that would leave more room for beer. Colony Grill offers a wide variety of toppings for their pizza, but they are most famous for the Original "Hot Oil" Pie. Hot Oil is chili-infused olive oil. The standard "hot oil" pie is a plain mozzarella pie with a drizzling of the hot oil and then garnished with a "stinger" (fried Serrano pepper). Anyways, my wife and I have only ever eaten at the original location, but we haven't had Colony Pizza in maybe 10 years, so it sounded like a good idea to have some again. I called in the takeout order when we were at the playground with our son. They gave us a wait time of 20 minutes. Upon arrival, there was a decent amount of parking in the back and I parked in a "Take-out Only" (10 Minutes Max) parking spot right next to the back door. The place was hopping when I walked in, and it smelled great. My pies were done by the time I walked in. I drove back to the playground and we all had a delicious pizza picnic lunch. My wife ordered the original "hot oil" pie, I had the same thing but with extra "stingers", our son and his friends shared a plain mozzarella that we ordered "lightly done", and our play dates' mother ordered a meatball and onion pie. We were all VERY satisfied. It was a great day.
