The pizza was good with a great crunch. The thin crust and flavor were on point. The only downside was the long wait for our order, which tested our patience a bit. Will definitely come back, just hoping for quicker service next time!

Absolutely love this Colony Grill location. The staff and servers are always friendly. Amazing pizza that is consistently good. You get to pick the toppings you want and can make your own combo of them. Mushroom & onion is my go to. You can’t beat the prices here either! Love the outdoor seating area they have as well!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Colony Grill, and I must say, it was a fantastic experience. The service was impeccable; the staff was attentive, friendly, and made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. But the highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the pizza. Colony Grill has truly perfected their craft. The pizza was delicious, with a perfect balance of flavors and a crispy, thin crust that left us wanting more. Each bite was a delight, showcasing fresh ingredients and expert preparation. If you're looking for a place with great service and even better pizza, look no further than Colony Grill. Highly recommended!

Google
Thin-Crust Perfection at Colony Grill! If you love thin-crust pizza, Colony Grill in Norwalk is an absolute must-visit. Their crust is razor-thin, perfectly crispy, and somehow manages to hold all that flavor without ever feeling too heavy. It’s simple, but in the best way—just a thin layer of rich sauce, gooey cheese, and whatever toppings you crave. The signature hot oil topping is a game-changer—spicy, savory, and addictive. It adds just the right kick without overpowering the pizza. You can tell they’ve mastered their craft—each pie comes out consistently delicious. The atmosphere is relaxed, the service is quick, and the pizza always hits the spot. Whether you're grabbing a casual bite or bringing friends for a night out, Colony Grill never disappoints. Thin crust done right!

Our server, Carly, was the best waitress we’ve ever had! She was speedy and efficient and very kind to us. She’s awesome! Love colony!

Once in Conn… Always get hot oil! We got pepperoni and hot oil. Black olives with bacon was also really delicious.

I came to Colony this evening to catch up with a college friend. We had such a lovely time tonight. It was such a chill vibe, and the pizza was DELICIOUS. It didn’t feel heavy or greasy. Our server Izzy was such a delight. He was in an uplifting mood, and truly made my day with his demeanor and attitude. It felt like he wanted to be there with us in our experience! Shout out to Izzy ! Hope I’m spelling your name correctly. We will be back! :)

Google
I’m not a big pizza eater but I love their salad pizzas and definitely will come back!! The combination of hot pizzas with thin crust and cold salad mixed with dressing is so unique and delicious.

Jennyfer U.

Yelp
Pizza and Beer is the best combo! The hot oil pizza taste so great! The cheese and pepperoni is good too. I love my Orchard Apple beer with my pizza. The place is nice to eat in. The people serving are friendly. They show games on TV and have music. It is a nice place to go with a friend and hang/talk/catch up. Wish they had more drinks that are non alcoholic. The pizzas are a good size for someone who has a normal/fair appetite. Recommended! Outside there is a water fountain and I enjoyed my visit in the summer. One concern is just the parking. Half the time you cannot find parking and have to go around to find.

Lourdes E.

Yelp
I know I am in the minority around here but I am not a fan. To me, the crust tastes like cardboard and the fact that you can't get a salad is ridiculous. "We have salad pizza" is the answer but I don't like my salad on crust so can you just forget the pizza and serve the salad.. "No". I only have to go here once in a while since my son in law likes it but there are so many good pizza places in Norwalk so why here I don't understand.

Mike R.

Yelp
Visited a friend of mines and told me this was the spot. Was intrigued by the crust and pleased with the "no-flop". This place was more popping than Risky Reels during the first day of the season 4 battle pass, lots of good vibes. Pizza i'd rate a 7.8, definitely passed the leftover test as well. Huge fan of the Hot Oil. No diddy .

Yelp
We recently were in Norwalk for work and was very excited to try the iconic pizza from the area. It was very good! We had cheese and pepperoni. I wish we had more time in Norwalk to try some of the other flavors but happy we got to try the classics. The cheese was very good

Alysen Y.

Yelp
Love this pizza! First time there and I got the plain cheese. Perfectly crisp, and thin with the perfect amount of cheese. Will be coming back! Also I didn't know this but they are personal size!

Michael S.

Yelp
Can't say this enough but 5 STAR. we showed up with a party of 12 including 5 kids and were seated promptly and had a comfortable space in a family friendly yet upscale pizza restaurant. The server was great and attentive. Everything came out timely and cooked to perfection. Pizzas were so good that after order 6 different pizzas for the table we ordered 1 more for the table and one to go. They called them personal size but two people could easily split a pie. Ingredients were fresh too! Drinks weren't the greatest. But acceptable. I get an old fashioned at most places I go to and this was probably the only thing I wouldn't rave about in the place. Bathrooms were even clean, which to me always is indicative of a clean front and back of house.

Yelp
If you're looking for thin crust bar pizza, look no further. This place has a firefighter/police/military theme and I love it with that alone! It wasn't very busy at lunchtime which was surprising but let's get to the point. It's that amazing pizza we came for. We ordered 2 mushroom/sausage pizzas for 3 of us. It was thin, it was crispy, it had no flop, and it was utterly amazing. If you've read my reviews on pizza places, I am a self proclaimed pizza snob and this place won me over. Easily one of the best thin crust bar pizzas I've ever had. There isn't a lot on the menu but when you make pizza this good, you don't need to.

Lorgine M.

Yelp
No other place can top Colony's hot oil thin crust pizzas! I always get the hot oil pizza with cherry pepper, onion, & sausage top notch When relatives from California are here for a visit, I introduced them to colony and they are blown away. Their pizzerias in the west coast are not very good, aka dominos... Service is always excellent, and the ambiance really capturing the pub vibe !

L H.

Yelp
Delicious thin pizzas that are not completely burnt with charred carcinogens like other pizzerias ie Pepe Pizza, in Fairfield CT. The prices are reasonable. Our waitress was friendly and professional. We were seated immediately at 7pm on a Monday night in late June of 2024. The pizzas were brought to our table within 15 minutes of ordering them. The Colony Grill is quite large with many booths for seating and is located underneath the Waypointe Apartment Complex in Norwalk, CT.

Amber T.

Yelp
What I miss most about living in the area, is my weekend pizza at colony. They have hands down THE BEST pizza, and you can't beat the hot oil with pepperoni - always worth the tummy ache you may or may not have after it haha. If you're gluten free or dairy free, they also have options for food sensitivity's which is super nice to see.

Jessica O.

Yelp
Love colony pizza! I love getting the salad pizza but with the cheese and sauce. This place is always busy so be prepared for that. All of the colonies resemble each other and have tasted the same so you can just pick your favorite. They are nice and clean looking.

Celia B.

Yelp
If you live in Fairfield County and haven't tried Colony, you're truly missing out. This is the best thin crust pizza in CT. I get the hot oil pizza with crispy bacon and sometimes I add stingers too. One of my favorite things about every Colony Grill, since I've also been to Fairfield and Milford, is the "Wall of Heroes" which honors those who have served in uniform as first responders or members of the United States Armed Forces. It's unique to them and truly makes it a place worth eating at knowing they support those who have served our country. Inside, they also have gigantic booths for larger parties. Our waitress was super quick with everything and answered all our questions about what was on tap, I only wish they had a different flavor of Downeast because creamsicle doesn't pair to well with pizza, at least not for me.

Raven F.

Yelp
Love the food here, favorite pizza place. Amazing vibe and great service, love the personal pizza

Ryan H.

Yelp
Great thin crust pizza, but that is literally it. They do not serve anything else. I'm not sure what they grill in the back, a true mystery.

Christopher M.

Yelp
Came this way after our trip to the aquarium after seeing that they had very good pizza. So straight to it, I'll never be a thin crust guy. I live right near a Rico's and honestly don't care for it. The flavor is excellent. The sauce is very good as well. They have hot chili oil for the table which is also a nice addition to the pizza. We ended up getting another for the ride home. The cost is also very good for what you're getting, our table had 3 pizzas with toppings on all, 2 sodas and a beer and it ended up coming under 60 dollars. Enjoyed and would definitely come back if in the area.

Ana A.

Yelp
Great place to watch sports games and enjoy quality pizza! I like mine well done for a nice crispy crust, service is always fast and easy!

Andrew W.

Yelp
Yeah I've been wanting to try as much regional pizza as I can every time I go to the east coast, and Colony Grill is an awesome spot in Norwalk, CT. They have super thin pizza, like almost paper thin. Their unique thing here is their hot oil pizza. Honestly probably my second favorite condiment on pizza of all time, just below honey on pizza. The hot oil was nice and spicy, and added a perfect amount of kick to the pizza. Highly recommended. My one gripe with this place is the pricing. You kinda build your own pizza here. You start with a plain base pizza, and you have to pay for each additional topping that you want to add. I can see it getting very expensive if you want a pizza with any kind of complexity. The venue here is quite nice. There's sports games playing on the TVs, and it's very cozy overall. I feel like it would be a nice place to drink and chill with friends. Also, Dave from One Bite Pizza Reviews came here and gave this place and 8.4. That's how you know it's good!

Saiteja G.

Yelp
I myself being a newbie in Norwalk and a vivid pizza lover; I think it's good to say that I found my favorite pizza place. This is my second time at the colony grill and thoroughly enjoyed the ambience and food. The restaurant gives out an upscale setting for a pizza place but I believe it's still reasonably priced. The pizza is a simple selection of a think crust and wide range of toppings. I usually like the pepperoni and stingers on my pizza. Normal portions would serve 1 pizza for one person. They also have a decent beer collection on the tap with pitchers available. If you are in the mood for a happy pizza and a beer I can vouch that this would be the perfect match!!

Jourdan S.

Yelp
Hot oil & salad pizza is so good Thin crust and still tastes fresh even though it's part of a chain

Rich B.

Yelp
After reading numerous reviews touting "hot oil" on a pizza, my first thought was of an old movie, The Hunchback of Notre Dame (the original b & w, 1939 version), where Quasimodo dumps cauldrons of hot oil from the parapets of the old cathedral onto the hoi polloi below. All this in an attempt to save the peasant girl, Esmeralda, (played by a young Maureen O'Hara, truth be told, my first crush) from being burned at the stake. Back to the pizza...NOOOO, not oil produced at a very high temperature causing mouth-roof burn. It's pepper-infused hot oil. And, it is just the right amount of heat. My foodie friend, Pots & Pans, and I are gaining weight eating our way through all the iconic pizza parlors in CT. This is definitely one of them. On a recent listing by The Daily Meal of the 101 best pizzas in the USA, Colony Grill ranked 43rd. We both agreed the pizza (all one size) is very excellent. The crust is super thin, just a little charred on the bottom. Definitely not chewy. The cheese was excellent, as was the sausage which we both ordered. It was definitely a unique experience that, we both agreed, was 5-star worthy. Note that The Colony Grill has four locations in CT. We ate at the Norwalk location in a very warm, clean, inviting setting. Our server, Kelly, was great. All protocols for COVID were followed. Two things to end on: (1) Pots & Pans, as per norm, eats pizza with a knife & fork, and (2) it would've been so much better if Esmeralda was sitting across from me, instead of Quasimodo. Overall, TCG is definitely on our dance card for future dances!

Yelp
We go to colony at least twice a month. I love this locations outdoor seating area and the staff is always really efficient and upbeat. The pizza is one of my favorites..although I keep it simple with cheese, it's always delicious. I'm definitely a fan of thin crust and I love how it's always consistently good.

Paulie G.

Yelp
Delicious pizza. We stick to the basic pies. We usually order one of each: Hot Oil, Stingers, Sausage, and Pepperoni pizzas.

Jeanie L.

Yelp
Fabulous spot! Great food and service!!! They have a great delivery service as well. They are fast, efficient and prepare your order to your exact specifications

Meagan D.

Yelp
Went here after a trip to the maritime aquarium with my family and 3 children (all under 3) and we had a reallly good time. I liked how it was laid back enough to feel comfortable bringing the kids (no one looking at you/judging if for having kids in a restaurant which some places do). There were also a bunch of other families with babies, and the wait staff was really good with them as well (joking, playing and laughing with them) Now the pizza was also really good. Different from normal pizza, but delicious. It was very thin, almost like an appetizer style pie. Definitely can eat one by yourself. Would go back again :)

Greg R.

Yelp
We have always loved Colony Grill but the pizza we were served on our last few visits over the last six months or so have not lived up to the taste and quality that we were used to. The pies seem to have no flavor now. We need to add salt and go heavy on all the condiments now to get anything out of it and it's still not that good. I am not sure what it is, maybe the sauce is not the same? I am not sure if others are noticing or maybe we were just hitting it on bad nights by luck. I do hope they turn it around. Another not so good visit and it might be the last.

Karen R.

Yelp
Chances are, if you live in Fairfield County, you already have tried Colony or have at least heard of it. If you love thin crust pizza then this is the place! One of pies they're famous for is the hot oil and sausage. I also love the pepperoni. The pepperoni itself is sliced big and thin. One thing to keep in mind, they serve pizza only! No sides. No salad. No dessert. The Norwalk location has a really nice outside seating are.

Mark J.

Yelp
i could never go wrong with colony. their pizza is always amazing and its worth what you pay for. the only downside is their service. they lack customer service and theyre very slow. they never check up on us anytime i ever go. other than that, the food is good!

Cordelia R.

Yelp
Really good location out of the many that are part of the Colony chain. We like to eat outside and people watch, it's part of the restaurants and businesses at the Waypoint apartments. If you've never been to Colony, they do bar style pizza, thin smallish individual. They only do pizza, their vegan option is the salad pizza and they offer gluten free crust. Hot oil is their big thing, it's not terribly spicy by itself usually but is pretty hot. It keeps you coming back for more. Service is always excellent, Larry was our server and great, even though we were the only ones outside on off hours before the regular dinner rush we never felt forgotten about. Really good bar that sticks to a strict menu and does it well! My personal fave is their brunch pizza which is only available Saturday and Sunday mornings I believe

Alina M.

Yelp
It's been a while since I've had Colony Grill and first time at the Norwalk location! We ordered takeout online on a Saturday night and it was about an hour wait. However, the online ordering system tells you that so we knew what to expect. They also have indoor dining available and the dining space is quite large with lots of social distancing. I think next time I would opt for dine-in so we can enjoy the pizza straight out of the oven! As pretty much everyone already knows, the Hot Oil pizza is a must-have from here. There's something just so unique about the hot oil, I love the kick that it adds. My husband loves super spicy so we also got the stingers. Admittedly, that was too much for me in terms of spiciness but it's easy enough to just take them off. I would have been fine with just the hot oil. We also got a pie with anchovies. Just so you know, the pies are pretty small and thin crust so as a rule of thumb I would say that one pie is for one person. In my opinion, the "well-done" option is the best in terms of crust crispiness and cheese cheesiness!

Bree H.

Yelp
While visiting a friend in the area, I was told that Colony Grill was a must-visit. I can understand why. It's a chill restaurant with a bar and TVs airing sports. My large group and I were sat soon after we entered. Our waitress was not the best. She spilled a beer on herself and the table and did not bring a new beer. She also messed up our order for two of the pizzas and showed no remorse when we told her. Nor did she offer to have the pizzas corrected. It took a very long time for us to get our pizza. People who were sat after us continued to receive their orders (I'm not sure if this was the fault of the restaurant or our lousy waitress). Our waitress could have given us an update on our order. Instead, she was MIA, which she was for a majority of our visit. We split 4 pies amongst 6 people. I think this is the best option when coming here as a group so you can try different toppings. Each pizza was so delicious. We were given different seasonings to put on the pizza which is always a great addition (we were offered garlic but never received it). The crust of the pizza was crunchy. A little on the oily side regardless of if you add hot oil or not. However, I will say that the hot oil is a great spicy touch to the pizza. I would return to this establishment for the food in hopes that the table service is improved.

Ryan B.

Yelp
My friend and I strolled in around 9PM on a Saturday night to grab a drink and try out the pizza. My first observation was the very cool décor against the exposed brick interior, and the space itself is deceivingly large once you step inside. The place itself was pretty crowded which is always a good sign, but luckily we were still able to grab a table.    If it's true that "simplicity is the ultimate sophistication" Colony Grill is spot-on. The menu is short, sweet, and to-the-point (just pizza!). Our waitress was great, as she allowed us to sample a beer that we had never heard of. For two beers, and two pizzas (one hot oil, and one pepperoni) our bill ended up being $36 plus tip. The pizza was delicious and I'd put it in the conversation with some of the famous New Haven pizzerias. I would definitely return!

Bill M.

Yelp
The first few times I've eaten there or ordered from Colony the food was good. Most recently I feel the quality has somewhat gone down. My last experience was a take out order. There are parking spaces marked clearly for "pick up" orders only. Well not this trip. That helped in knocking off a star. By the time I found a spot my food was cold. Their fault ? Not really but their customers need to be respectful and someone from the restaurant should check the spots and make an announcement to patrons who are illegally parked.

Silpa R.

Yelp
If the 5 start rating is not a give away, please know that I been here about three times in that past couple of months. The two things that stand out for me - the salad pizza and the stingers. To be honest, not a fan of the salad pizza - my taste buds were honestly confused by the leaves that I was eating in the name of pizza. It taste fine but I don't think I'll be up for that ride again. Now, onto the reason that bought me back to this place multiple times - the stingers. This was a unique taste to say the least - absolutely loved the spice from the stingers. The pepperoni and stingers pizza was my favorite. If you do not tolerate spice, do not order this. If you love spice, believe me when I say you will need a big sip of beer between bites to calm the fire. You have been warned.

Alec B.

Yelp
If you want a change from the many tapas styled bars and restaurants in SoNo, give colony grill a visit. Their beer selection and thin crust pizzas are perfect for a casual night with friends. Known for their hot oil pizza, I expected dipping oil that had been heated as a side. I was surprised to learn hot oil is actually just olive oil that's been infused with hot peppers. The oil wasn't overly spicy though and it complemented the delicious thin crust cheese pizza. Prices aren't bad and the staff are all really friendly. I find the interior of Colony Grill especially cozy and warm like an Irish pub on a winter day.

Autumn P.

Yelp
The food and service was incredible but I wish you guys could add wings towards your menu I recommend trying the pizzas atmosphere is great

Kristen B.

Yelp
I'm writing this as I walk back home after waiting almost 20min for an order I placed online nearly an hour ago. I don't quite have words for it but it was pretty blatant how differently I was treated compared to others around me for simply waiting for my order. I ordered one pizza and watched as person after person came in picking up orders of 2-6 pies and were greeted with smiles in a way I just wasn't. Finally I calmly requested they cancel my order and issue a refund which required me to repeat that ask to three different people before finally being told my order was "2nd up next" and update I never received before then. I was assured I'd receive my refund and I left. I'm going to leave it there because honestly I don't believe I'll ever go back to this place even with it being so close. I sincerely hope others have a much more pleasant experience.

Laura G.

Yelp
Fun atmosphere with unique hot oil pizzas & admiration for first responders--especially firefighters (#firewife with DH's pic on wall in few places). Service always good, even when busy which is often. Take-out available too.

Ally B.

Yelp
Good thin crust pizza, reasonably priced drinks, loud but enjoyable. Great gathering place

Teddy C.

Yelp
Colony is a very unique restaurant. This was the first irish pizza place ive been to and it is amazing, they have some toppings that i never thought would be on pizza. They had thin crust pizza which was very good, and one pizza only costs 10.5 dollars with no toppings. The wait time wasn't long and it had some nice seating.

David M.

Yelp
A big thank you to one of the best venues and staff for holding a large (or small) group celebration. Colony Grill Pizza was the right pick (thanks Tammy) for our Belinda's special 60th birthday celebration. The event actually turned into a mini family & friends reunion. We arrived to the "SONO" (South Norwalk) Colony Pizza with 30 hungry party ready people, in sunny mid afternoon and we were seated in their beautiful open views area, with plenty if mingle space and wonderful autumn views to the outside. Special thanks to Brian, our manager, first for his cooperation and coordination and secondly, for his choices of a few of his best set of personable polite servers that kept folks fed, tables cleared and took our grand Birthday group photo. The bar was also an honorable mention. Great martini. This place proved to be a perfect location, (free parking garage), excellent management, clean, and affordable. Best of all the pizzas were flowing all afternoon and they were delicious! Thanks again to the SONO Colony staff for helping us make a wonderful memory. We will be back again. Cheers

Elizabeth S.

Yelp
Been here a handful of times and most visits smooth flying and delicious food. Bought down one star by one unfortunate visit where we had hair in our pie, but the staff was great at quickly replacing the pie, beimg accountable, apologetic and taking care of the tab.

Mina B.

Yelp
This goes for every one of this restaurant's locations - it's the best pizza I've ever had. My family comes here on just about every special occasion we have in a year. Pro tip: order your pies with hot oil on them. They're good on their own but the oil, as the staple of the place, elevates the flavor from "pretty great" to "peak apizza". If you're anywhere near a Colony Grill, don't miss out. And if you prefer deep dish Providence- or Chicago-style pizza... well, I don't recommend it unless you also like pizza that isn't deep dish. Every inch of the pizza is actual pizza - no end crust to throw away when you're finished, no anything like that, and it's just really really good. Colony has never given me a bad pie.

Richard B.

Yelp
An overall great experience can be guaranteed at the Colony Grill. Comfortable, inviting atmosphere. Great, thin-crust bar pizza with delicious and unique toppings. And reasonably priced, too. Be sure to try the "hot oil" at least once! We had two pizzas with four different topping combinations: 1) hot oil and stingers (hot!!), 2) pepperoni and black olives, 3) sausage and mushrooms, 4) meatball and peppers. All great!

Jack G.

Yelp
Really this review should be a 4 star. I've always loved coming here and to this day I still go pretty consistently. As long as good pizza and good beer is you're thing then you'll love colony grill. That's their whole image and their proud of it. I have to admit that in todays restaurant climate with what seems to be endless menus of the most diverse food combinations possible, it's amazing to see a place that specializes in just one thing. Pizza. And that brings me to why I rate this 3 stars. The famous pizza known up and down the east cost just isn't as good as it used to be. Now when I order my pizza I can't help but to remember how good it was compared to the pie I'd be eating at the moment. It's a amazing part of Stamford's history and I want it to succeed. I do recommended this place to eat.

Carolyn E.

Yelp
We come here a lot and always have such great experiences. Becca and Brian were wonderful tonight! The pizza is always so good and right out of the oven!

Maria S.

Yelp
Round two of the GF pizza challenge took place at Colony Grill for dinner. (Earlier, I enjoyed a GF pizza at Lunch Box.) I love the concept of Colony Grill. Serve pizza, with limited toppings, at a great sports bar, and throw in some stellar service as well. The fact they also offer a gluten free crust is a bonus for those with food sensitivities. Our party of five ordered a bottle of Chianti and set to ordering pizzas, one each. Popular toppings were pepperoni, sausage, hot oil, mushrooms, onions and cherry peppers. Boy, is this pizza tasty! I opted for pepperoni and mushroom on a GF crust, and sparingly added some hot oil that we ordered on the side so everyone could try some. (I tend to like less spicy items, so I wanted to experiment with the heat levels. Verdict: the hot oil is spicy, but not overly so, and an excellent addition to the pizza.)

Aimee L.

Yelp
I've never had pizza like this before. It's not ny style pizza maybe ct style? Def delicious super yummy! Very thin crust which I love! Bacon and hot oil. Trust me you will thank me later! Best combo! If you take it to go get the hot oil on the side it leaked all over the box when i got home but I still devoured it! Restaurant is tucked in a little alley way super spacious inside with outdoor dining available. Such a cute date spot! Tip - if you park in the front make sure to pay the Meter I almost got a ticket. Traffic cop was giving out tickets at 7:30 pm!!

Justin O.

Yelp
Ok here's the deal, if you haven't tried Colony yet, I'm not sure what you're waiting on! Seriously, don't even waste your time reading this review just call and order or show up. (I'll provide parking and navigating tips below). Look, there are four bar style pizza places in CT that are world renowned. Don't believe me, google worlds best pizza. Colony is one of the four. Go try them all (one has a small take-out/restaurant in Norwalk, the other two are from New Haven but one has a location in Fairfield and the other supposedly was going to have a location open in Norwalk). Anyhow we're talking staple top tier Pizza. Salad pizza is amazing, with cheese! Parking tips, drive down Merwin St and park in garage, plenty of parking. If not, go to garage around the corner in other building (entrance on Academy)

Robert V.

Yelp
Great pizza, recommend the salad pizza and hot bar oil for sure. Not a bad place to grab a drink either. Servers very attentive.
