Colors Hotel Athens (Athens, Greece) 3 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"You certainly can’t accuse the Colors Hotel Athens of being anything less than true to its name. Its rooms and suites, from its efficient Business Economy rooms to its bunk-equipped Family Rooms and its lavish Penthouse Suite, are decorated in carefully selected, richly contrasting pairs or trios of colors, which turn its Deco-inspired modern minimalist style into something memorably lively. The vibe is residential and the services are accordingly somewhat low-touch — breakfast is the extent of the culinary program — but the hotel’s location, a few blocks from Omonia Square, means the bustling neighborhood fills in the gaps." - Tablet Hotels

"Located in Exarcheia, I found Colors Hotel Athens to be a stylish four-star with bright, cheery rooms, free Wi‑Fi, spa-like bathrooms featuring rainmaker showers, comfortable beds, plush bathrobes, and desks. The colorful, spacious rooms have lots of natural light and come in various configurations, and there’s an extensive breakfast buffet that changes daily but always includes fresh homemade pastries, fruit, cereal, eggs, and yogurt. It’s a pleasant, quiet spot about a 15-minute walk from the main attractions." - Matthew Kepnes

A couple, who stayed 3 nights at this charming hotel, and we really recommend it. The hotel is designed with a modern and practical style, very chic and colorful. The deluxe room we stayed in was very comfortable and indulgent/pampering. The staff was very kind, helpful, and nice—everyone of them :) The breakfast was basic, but tasty and sufficient/satisfying. The hotel's location is simply wonderful. Not far from the center but in a cool neighborhood with lots of graffiti, good restaurants, and vibrant nightlife. The only tip I can give the hotel owners is to add an awning/cover to the wonderful balcony so that it can be used even on rainy days

We recently stayed in the penthouse suite at this incredible hotel in Athens, and it exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, the service staff was warm and attentive, and the suite itself was absolutely perfect.||||We opted for the breakfast package and did not regret it. The buffet was absolutely incredible with an impressive variety of breakfast foods, all fresh and beautifully presented. From flaky pastries and fresh fruit to savory Greek specialties and made-to-order coffee, every morning felt like a feast. It was the perfect way to start each day.||||The location is perfect and is within walking distance to some of the attractions and great restaurants. ||||If you're considering a stay in Athens and want a truly elevated experience, we can't recommend this hotel enough. The penthouse and breakfast combo made our trip truly special.

I really wanted to love this hotel because it looks fantastic in the photos — modern, stylish, something a bit different. Unfortunately, there were so many issues during our stay that I couldn’t return or recommend it.||To start with the positives: the gentleman who checked us in was outstanding — friendly, welcoming and full of helpful recommendations. The breakfast was also great for a hotel of this size, with a good variety and excellent coffee.||However, our room had a persistent sewage smell from the moment we arrived, which did not improve over our 3-night stay. I later heard another guest raising the same issue and being told that she should simply keep the windows open if it bothered her.||We also discovered that one of the curtains was missing, leaving half the window uncovered. When I reported it to reception, I was met with an incredibly rude and dismissive response. I was told there was nothing to be done, the hotel was full and we would have to manage. Only when I asked about a refund so we could move hotels did the tone suddenly change — a supervisor was clearly contacted, and very quickly a solution appeared. A barman arrived to install a curtain taken from another room. It was the wrong size, but at least allowed us some sleep. I just wish I hadn’t been made to feel as though I was the problem for raising a genuine issue.||Our room was also directly beside the elevator, which meant constant corridor noise. Combined with the uncomfortable beds and pillows, we slept very poorly.||Overall, this hotel has potential — it looks great and breakfast is impressive — but the maintenance issues and poor attitude from some staff completely overshadowed the positives. If you do choose to stay here, I strongly recommend requesting a high floor to reduce road noise and a room well away from the elevators.

We had a great stay here . The family room is well set up and the kids loved the bunk beds - all beds very comfy and robes a nice touch . Yes the rooms are compact but the location , price and experience are all excellent . The staff are lovely and friendly , a very plentiful breakfast and a serviced bar through the day and evening as well . Kids loved some of the fun elements including the writing wall and games . Location is excellent - with lovely neighbourhood cafes and restaurants that serve delicious food and drink at very reasonable non tourist prices don’t be put off by the graffiti we felt perfectly safe walking around the area. It’s the perfect base for sightseeing in Athens . Thank you we had a lovely stay .

Wonderful wee hotel. Enjoyed my 4 night stay. All staff I interacted with were efficient and friendly with great customer service. Particular shout out to Bjorka and the front desk team. Turn right out the hotel and it's a 15 minute stroll to Monastiriki Sq; 30 to the Acropolis. Left and you are in a buzzing, independent local district (Exarchia) with great cafes, bars and a phenomenal micro bakery (Black Salami). Will be back to Athens. Won't hesitate to stay here again or to recommend to others.

We went to COLORS Athens with decently high expectations, given it's #35 ranking in all of Athens and 4.7 overall rating. ||I'll start with the positives: the client service was excellent. We dealt with 4-5 different employees in various circumstances (check-in/out, room service, general questions) and all were fantastic to deal with. The lobby was okay (much darker than the pictures suggest though) and there is a cute little terrace at the front of the hotel. It also located in a great area and we were to walk many places.||However the negatives cannot be ignored. The room was extremely dark and small. We had a standard room with a larger bed (and bunk beds attached to the wall for some reason) but it was tough to just move one checked baggage around, nevermind more than one (which we had). There was also no room to put said baggage anywhere so if you lay it on the floor to open it and get things, you can no longer walk around. The shower also accumulated water very easily. So much so that I had to start the shower to get water on me, turn it off, wash myself, then turn it back on to rinse. If i let it on for a standard 3-4 minute shower, the water would be around my ankles. Finally, for those who don't know, you can't/it is not recommended to flush any toilet paper in the toilet in most of Athens. However, even if our garbage was cleaned out, the room and most of the floors with rooms smelled of sewage and poop constantly. ||In summary, the price you pay for where it is and the service you get is great. But there are tons of things that should temper your expectations. I'd give it a 2.5/5, but since we can't give it half ratings, I give it a 3 based on location, service, and price.

Such a fantastic accommodation! They took such good care of us for our honeymoon!! We were so grateful. ❤️ We 100% recommend. The location was about a 20min walk from the acropolis, many fantastic restaurants, and shops! We also had no issues and were able to leave our luggage with them safely, while we waited for our room to be ready. The room and bathroom were so nice and clean and beds were super cozy!!!☺️
