I'm not sure what system is used in Greeks to rate hotels, but I've been at better two-star hotels in Madrid and Paris. The bed was comfortable, the staff at the Garden Bar where they serve breakfast was excellent, as well as the part-time receptionist, and the location was great, but those are the only positives. My Orbitz VIP status was not recognized; though there was a room one notch higher than what I was promised, I was denied an upgrade. I was also denied 20% off in the restaurant, which is something they could have easily given me. But aside from that, there was mold in the bathroom, the sink linked (room #3), and there wasn't even a chest of drawers or anything to put stuff, just 10 coat hangers. I have no other experience getting a room in Thessaloniki, but surely there are places to get more of a bang for your buck. Also, the check-in was a mess. They sent me an email at 9:30 that morning (when I was already en route, as most travelers would be) with instructions, but it didn't matter anyway because they were incorrect. I had to go to their other hotel to get my key, and the receptionist at that place gave me a bit of an attitude telling me that they had sent correct instructions. That was handled really poorly, and set the tone for a mediocre stay. They don't offer room clean up unless you ask for it; not sure if that is a COVID thing or not but nobody told me. I would not stay here again. Also, there is loud music ever night (even during the week) but it goes off at midnight.
