Knowledgeable baristas and always great coffee! Love being able to get heart coffee in Oakland:) Their espressos and lattes are always amazing! Loving the new shop location; especially Fridays for the farmers market. Lots of good food and shops nearby to make a day of it. Lots of table space to sit and hang with friends or do some studying. They also have some bomb ass merch 👌🏼

Good spot! Nothing too fancy. I came specifically because I saw they have Heart coffee and that’s one of my preferred roasters. There’s ample seating and it’s a pretty good vibe. It feels like they’re on the way to more of a modern feel. No special drinks here, just the standards which is fine. I’d come again if I need just a normal every day coffee, so 4 stars from me.

Awesome coffee and pastries. Coloso serves Heart coffee, and while the space may not be ideal for doing work for hours, it's great for a quick coffee break.

Beautiful spot. Conveniently located across from Oakland Convention Center. Delicious coffee!!!! Delicious. I drink decaf and it is hard to find DELICIOUS decaf. Prices are on par with area.

I love coming here to work, it’s my favorite coffee place in the Bay Area. Good vibes and coffee every time.

After visiting almost 70+ different coffee shops on the west coast (most of them several times) I’ve gotta say these guys have always and will always be Top 3.

The owners are experts in both the art and science of great coffee, and great guys as well. Best espresso and macchiatos in the area. Comfortable atmosphere to hang out; interior is attractive with clean lines; location is great. If you haven’t been, you gotta try it!

Classy and relaxing ... the entire space is very calming and they play nice punk music. The coffee is excellent and what food they sell here like chocolate is super high quality. Great for people watching and the employees are knowledgeable about all things coffee. I wish they were open 24 hours a day!

I don't mean to hate on the employees here.... Management needs to stop being so cheap and hire a second person! Every time I stop in here, there is one person working. Cashier, making bagels, making the coffee.... It can take 20 minutes to get a bagel with cream cheese. And again, nothing against the overworked employees but.... If I were stuck there all alone I wouldn't be in the greatest mood either. Rattos, half a block down makes great coffee and more.

Stopped in for a refreshments while we waited for the Step show across the street. We mainly purchased bottle goods, waters and a couple of juices. However, we were a little hungry so my daughters asked the barista/cook if there were any sandwiches at this location and he suggested the deli down the street however, he said that they had grilled cheese, so we ordered one. He basically had some nice bread with cheese on it put it in a kind of convection oven like cheese toast and then proceeded to put the two pieces together and there was our grilled cheese - wasn't grilled at all and the cheese wasn't quite melted however, it was filling. As far as customer service, the guy was mildly interested in being in the establishment although he was pleasant while talking to us. The establishment itself is pretty nice and bright and seems like a nice place to grab a cup of coffee.

Such a cute coffee shop. Had a really lovely music selection and tons of seating. The drinks we ordered were all pretty decent - the coffee was just really strong and had a bitter aftertaste. I ordered the Vietnamese iced coffee, which had a pretty intense aftertaste but good enough. Their matcha was really good, especially if you get a flavored syrup!

3 stars average coffee with a bit over average pricing. This is what hipsters would call their kind of coffee joint. Got their mocha and found it to be on the bitter side, even with the oatmilk. I can't say this is a stand out place for me.

We stopped by to get our second jolt of the day but I was not happy with the beans they use. The coffee was bitter and had that dry coffee bean taste which I do not like. It's a cute little coffee house - if you are in the area you should try it out as everyone has a different opinion on coffee flavor.

Went here for a quick coffee and was amazed by the matcha latte! Inside seating was nice and even have a few tables on the street! Would definitely come back great little coffee shop.

On a Sunday morning this is the best coffee in Downtown Oakland. (It's good other days too.) The coffee was strong enough to stand up to my milk drink (I think it was a little fruity). The barista and I had a nice chat about latte art. Very clean and almost sterile. They serve drinks in real ceramic cups if you want.

Was looking for a quiet place to dock for a few hours and came across Souvenir Coffee. Service was friendly and they were open until 5pm on a Sunday. I enjoyed my black, drip coffee and learned later that Souvenir roasts its own coffee, which I appreciated.

Sweet customer service Beck, Curtis, and the ladies are excellent, kylie , Emma! All of them are good people to talk to, and they know their products with more than about 20 different coffees from around the world. This shop is very impressive clean and quaint.

Oh from the greeting and service at check in, to the scrumptious bliss the pumpkin bread and cappuccino took me on...you're be hard pressed to find a better location to take a break in this area! Just walked over from the convention center for a volleyball tournament, and as it's already 1pm--I needed a pick me up Thank goodness I found this place to try out. It's a clean, open space location that has both indoor and outdoor seating. Easy to enjoy on this Saturday afternoon and we'll worth a visit next time you're in the area, or at the Oakland Convention Center! Great service and oh so friendly...it's a place to share!

Surprisingly in the midst of the bustling Old Oakland Farmers' Market, I was able to find an island of calm in this compact coffee spot on the outside of the Swan's Market building, so It's easy to miss unless you're looking for it. And you should as more Souvenir Coffee cafes are popping up all the time due to their flavorful beans. I've stopped at the one on Solano Avenue in Albany (review: https://bit.ly/35Nnswb), so I knew their brews would be of good quality. I was right as I got quite a satisfying Cafe Au Lait for $4 (photo: https://bit.ly/3vDi0H2) after walking the market and having lunch at Miss Ollie's on the same block. It was an ideal ending to a relaxing Friday visit to these parts. Stopped by for coffee and a pastry. The associates were very efficient -- the one running the register took our order as the other one would listen in and start preparing drinks while we were deciding on our pastries. The menu offers all sorts of coffee options available for customization. My cinnamon twist was super good -- I finished the entire thing in less than 5 minutes. There are indoor and outdoor seating options so stop by for some coffee -- and to support a local small business!

Decent coffee and work space. I came here on a Monday morning and it was nice and quiet. It was also very easy to find street parking. I worked here with my laptop for 2 hours and was able to focus and get my work done. The wifi is fast but noted that there's no outlets. There are plenty of chairs and the space is clean and bright. The doors were opened for air circulation during my time there but it was very cold so not a place that you could stay in for long during the winter. I ordered a latte and the coffee was very smooth. I love that the barista served it with a latte art. I appreciate that this place offer dine-in mugs but the mugs and plates look a bit wore out. My sister ordered a green tea and the barista was nice to offered her hot water refills with no additional cost. The barista was very nice and service was fast. The coffee shop also offers pastries from Starter Bakery and Chocolate Dragon. I saw a few fruit flies inside the pastry case so I didn't order any. This coffee shop is great for a quick coffee stop since it's not as busy as the ones nearby.

Food is okay, service is terrible. Had to wait close to 20 minutes to get a cream cheese bagel because the barista keep taking orders of people walking in, not in line, just walking in. Why is my time less valuable than theres ? I wonder. Won't be back.

Souvenir Coffee has opened in Coloso Coffee's space. infrastructure looks similar. unknown if available for indoor sipping. outside looks available. offerings: pastries, coffee brew: dark roast covfefe(3.50) -had a lot of body, zero harshness, easy to sip -black covfefe is so beautiful! -quick friendly service.

What a cute hole in the wall! Was searching for coffee shops in my neighborhood but didn't want to go to mainstream ones (e.g., Starbucks, Peets, etc) and I stumbled across Souvenir Coffee! The store is kind of tucked away from the bustling Broadway street on Washington street which makes it easy to miss but trust me when I say that you do not want to miss this. Souvenir Coffee has a few shops throughout the Bay (two in SF, this one in Oakland, one in Berkeley, and one in Albany). They're based locally in Berkeley and while they value people over their coffee (this is literally in their motto--"people first, then coffee") and it's reflected in their superior customer service (staff super friendly and knowledgeable), they do serve premium, small batch roasted coffee here. I got the Vietnamese Iced Coffee ($5) and the Iced Matcha Latte ($5). Vietnamese Iced Coffee: - SUPER strong (exactly what's needed on a Monday morning, lol) Iced Matcha Latte: - not as strong as the Viet Iced but still packs a punch - smooth and creamy--can tell premium matcha is used - tastes like matcha ice cream (when sweetener is added)--so yummy! Would I recommend? Most definitely!

I love that these guys all offer a small drip coffee when you buy a bag of beans. No one else seems to do this anymore.

Drop by a little late, 40' before closing. I love how the place is super spacious, clean and quiet. People order take out and rush out, which is great for me. Not a crowded place gal. Perfect for me to chill while waiting for friend. I order the Vietnamese ice coffee. Don't know why. I wanna do a latte but my mouth speak before my mind does. Order a Vietnamese coffee in a Western shop? Well, I won't expect too much. The flavor is alright, not the condense sweetness I am looking for. Not authentic at all. I add extra shot since I need to stay sharp till late this evening. The barista kindly warn me, so nice of her. Us Vietnamese love a strong coffee (flavor and level). It won't matter. I just don't love the sourness after taste. Not a fan. Barista is extremely nice and friendly.

Great place to work at. There are a lot of tables available and outdoor seatings. I ordered the latte and an espresso shot. I would say that I have had better lattes in other coffee shops. I wished my latte had more expresso. I felt like the milk was overpowering my drink and I was not able to taste the expresso as much. Overall the server was very helpful and kind. The location is hard to find parking but if you're a local it's a nice walk around the block.

Coffee was good and it sits in a cute location in Oakland. It was walkable from my hotel and I would go back.

I was looking for a spot for my mid day coffee run and came across souvenir coffee! The employees here were so friendly, and the service was fast. I got the Vietnamese coffee which I really liked - just the right amount of sweet and strong without being overly sweet. There's also a good amount of seating for those who want to get work done.

LOVE how many regulars seem to come through Souvenir Coffee. The barista was so, so sweet. And the coffee is fantastic. I had the Vietnamese Coffee because I needed to stay WIDE awake that day. Unfortunately it wasn't a great place to work. While it had WiFi, the internet was super slow and there were no electrical outlets. Perfect place to catch up with someone, read a book, or just enjoy the sunny Oakland weather on the front patio.

We held a kids' birthday party next door at MADE (Museum of Art and Digital Entertainment) and we left a tab open for parenting adults to wander in and get coffee, tea, and pastries at their leisure and hang out with each other instead of having to be at the birthday party next door. Mattie (Matty? Maddy?) was super patient with running the tab for everyone and was fine with me paying at the very end. The pastries from Starter are delicious and I appreciate that they get run through the toaster so they're warm and a pleasant texture when you get them. My coffee was delicious and the parenting adults loved the quality of the beverages. The cute teddy face in the foam was a nice touch! The space is clean and open and it was nice for parenting adults to be able to hang out while their kids were in close proximity without actually having to supervise them.

On this day August 10, 2023 at approximately 3:10 PM I stop by for iced coffee at the Oakland location on Washington Street. The very unpleasant young lady that was working this day was so rude. I asked her a few questions and she got upset when I asked her the second one and I said you know I don't want to coffee anymore I'm just gonna leave. I said the last time that I came here I was very pleasant very welcoming, but you're not very welcoming, she said fine you can leave just go and you're free to write a review so that's just what I am doing now I'm not sure who she is or what her name is. I asked her name she told me nope I'm not giving it to you, I said fine I'll just write my review, but in her description she was a Caucasian lady with short hair and tattoos on her face and body. That is the best way I can describe her since I could not get her name I will be letting my company know how rude she was because we are a big supporter of this place and I will be getting in touch with a manager ASAP

REALLY cheerful barista made a really pretty mocha. Tastes fantastic, can't complain!

I called @ 2:13 on July 6th and asked if I could place a phone other. The person on the other line disappeared and the connection was gone so I thought, phone malfunction and called again. I asked if I can place a phone order and she hesitated then told me she had a line. I'm parked right outside (almost in front) I have 2 dogs in my car so I didn't want to be gone unnecessarily too long. I walked in and not 1 person was in line so I walked out. I figured they didn't want my business. The owner should know how their employee treats their business I won't be recommending this place

I've only been here once and never would go back. I walked in with my husband and we ordered two drinks. The barista didn't ask me what size I wanted for my latte but charged me for a large and only gave me a small latte. There were two customers behind us ordering drinks and food, to my surprise while I waited for my coffee, this barista had me their coffee and their food and wished them a happy day while they headed out. I'm still waiting for my drink at this point.. My husband walks up to the bar and the barista says "oh yea still making your cap and your latte" and to our surprise, he had made the espresso and sat it down until he finished making the other order for the customer behind us. He then used the stale and cold espressos in our drinks and handed it over to us.. We walked out right away as I couldn't even stand the sight of this place. We were pumped to come to this place and excited to try their coffee and this barista (with a European accent) ruined our experience. Never again!

Best Chai Latte I've had. Loved the smooth creamy foam. And the tea and milk mix was perfectly delicious. I'll be back for more soon!

Not from around here but wanted to try local coffee shops. 5/5 on their mocha latte! Tried another Cafe mocha down the street from Souvenir and Souvenir's mocha was better :)

Great coffee with a nice interior. It's quiet over here during the day but they have the same great coffee as other souvenir locations. I recommend the flat white.

Great coffee and kind employees as always in soft opening phase. With the brick sidewalks, old buildings and shade trees, it feels like being on the east coast for a few minutes. The interior is well designed minimalist Modernism.

Really good coffee! I ordered the oat milk latte with an add shot! My 1 year old daughter was with me so I noticed the floor and posts under the tables along the windows were pretty filthy. My daughters hands and knees got black from her kneeling on the floor

I'm an old customer of Souvenir and was thrilled that they opened a new location closer to my house. The employees are the kindest - Lara makes the BEST latte. Definitely pop in to visit!

Love this place and i am so glad they're in the neighborhood. Their iced mocha is delicious. I am embarrassed to say that i come here just about everyday for one! Their workers are nice and the service is great.

Souvenir checks two of my most important boxes: 1) exceptional coffee and 2) friendly, helpful baristas that know their coffee. I think they roast some of the best beans in the East Bay, and I'm glad they opened up shop nearby. All my experiences with the baristas have been very positive. Also, this location is in Oldtown, so it's one of the few coffee shops on a tree-lined street. Some of my favorite Friday mornings involve grabbing a coffee, sitting outside, and watching the hustle bustle from the farmer's market.

I would not recommend this place to anyone ever!!! My husband and I are coffee drinkers so I searched for a nearby coffee spot and souvenir came up so I went. Once I arrived a young white guy was working and I ask him if they had condensed milk since they have Vietnamese coffee and he said yes I then proceeded to order and ask for condensed milk to be added to my order this is when my experience changed .. he told me that he would not open a can of condense milk for my lattes so order something else.. I was shocked and offended !!! So you don't make coffee to order .. I will NEVER spend my money here .. RUDE!!!!!! I wish I could give no stars

Was excited to check out this location after being a huge fan of the Berkeley one, and it's even better! Clean, modern, minimal aesthetic that's open and inviting. Coffee was great as always, accompanied with their chocolate and pumpkin breads (really recommend). Staff was super friendly and sweet (shoutout to Lara), as always. Highly recommend!

I've been to another Souvenir location before but it was my first time checking out this spot. It has a great vibe and is very clean inside. The coffee was incredible and the barista Lara was so helpful and friendly!

Collin is the best... great flat whites every time with great convos, vibes and shirts to match.
