Came to check it out to be able to share about it in social media and my website. Wanted to take a tour and offered to pay for the minimum number needed (we had a party of 2) and needed 2 more. The worker said no. She was unfriendly to start with and seemed bothered when we made our purchase of local products. The store its self has a lot of washboards and you can see the second largest one in the world. Not a ton to see there if you can't do a tour.

There wasn’t much to see. When asking about the business and the tours that are offered, the associate at Shorty’s ice cream was hesitant about giving me information and told me times that were different from the ones listed online. They very well could’ve changed! However, there was nothing to exciting. They did have a sample lotion that was great, but other than that nothing.

We came for the ice cream and stayed for the washboard museum. The staff was great! Super friendly and chatty. We all ordered ice cream and then viewed the antique washboards. The woman scooping ice cream gave us a bunch of trivia about washboards and why glass was used, various era information, and that they are the last manufacturer of these devices. They still make both functional washboard equipment and musical washboards.

A Washboard Company???... This slice of Americana has it's roots steadfast in what should be a bygone era. In an age of high tech washing machines and other devices to make our lives easier, this low tech device has still got some tricks up the sleeves that it's getting clean by hand. Not only are washboards still having a use in our society, but are finding new revival in popularity, with more unique uses. Keeping the old adage "Necessity is the mother of invention", Columbus Washboard is holding it's own, reinventing itself for a new generation. Whether it's getting that stain out of something you just don't trust in a washer, or helping a soldier keep his uniform clean while in the field, one of these washboards can do the trick. They even have washboards for someone yearning for memories of a simpler time or want to play in a band. (By the way Logan, Ohio is home to a Musical Washboard Festival every July.) Last, but not least, they have the World's Largest and 2nd Largest Washboards displayed at the factory. That, and some of the most wonderful people making these one of a kind marvels should be reason enough to come see them; take the tour; and purchase one, if not more of these laundry marvels.

I must say we did not expect to stumble upon this place, but are very glad we did! We walked in for the ice cream then saw a group of folks playing washboards as musical instruments in the back. If you're looking for a truly one-of-a-kind place, this is it. The employees were very helpful in educating us and they sell a wide variety of local products. Worth a stop if you're in the Hocking Hills area!

I have wanted to go for several years, finally made a visit during the annual Washboard Arts and Music Festival. Both the festival and "factory" are underwhelming. Glad I went but wish I had gone to see the older factory down the street- still there and worth seeing the largest washboard mounted on the outside wall. The present "factory" is more touristy with an ice cream shop and other items in the front and the washboards are assembled in the back. Worth a visit if you are in the Hocking Hills and have time away from hiking. The downtown Logan area is a nice old style small downtown with shops and restaurants.

Delightful coconut avalanche ice cream. They even shipped washboards to Tanzania and all over the world!!! A great cultural experience in Americana: kazoo's, canjo's, and salves!!!

I have been working on emergency preparedness and wanted a few high-quality washboards for that purpose. I did some Internet searches and watched some YouTube info and found that this brand had good reviews. I have been happy with my washboards (I bought a glass family size and a pail size). Turns out I am using my boards besides just having on-hand for emergencies, like focusing on stains and caked-in dirt. I can't believe how good these boards are at getting out stains that not even my washing machine and pre-treatment could get out. I also bought the Grandma's stain stick they sell. It's a very small bar of soap. But since I just plan to use it for concentrated areas, I think it will last a good while. I also appreciate their customer service. I had a question about my boards and they were very helpful and quick to respond.
