Staff was nice and helpful. Great ambience with a cozy vibe. Parking, however, is not safe. Our vehicle got broken into the last time we visited. Not the restaurant's fault, but definitely stay vigilant.

Very cute new place! Loveee the painted walls. The sauces that come with the Bo Luc Lac were really good, with the green one being different from what we’ve tried at other places. We also had the clams which were pretty good but I preferred the Bo Luc Lac dish the most of the two.

I Would not recommend. We got the sample platter and everything was okay. We got com thit nuong and it was very fatty, room temperature, and lacking flavor . Came with no knife to cut the meat or the typical fish sauce . The Bun Bo Hue was very mushy and could not eat and had no spice . We also got the snail and it was very dry, lacking oil and flavor .

The fish was cooked perfectly. The sour soup was so flavorful! The portion sizing is just right, in our opinion. Not too big. When we order these same items at other restaurants, we can’t usually finish. Just the right amount of food.

I loved the owner. She was so sweet! Mini egg rolls were so good! The broken rice dishes were delicious I also got the bun rieu which I don’t recommend, however to be fair I got bun rieu at a rice place haha!

The food was ok however I requested no green onion and cilantro, but they still put in green and tried to pick it out. From the surface you can't see green onion and cilantro but one flip the meat I saw green onions and cilantro. Don't think I would go back again!

Attentive Service. Pretty decor. Unfortunately, those were the only things we like about this place. The food is mediocre and oddly bland. Who lied to the chef and says they can cook? My 13 years old niece cook better than this. We came in hungry, and left disappointed. Don’t order the thit nuong spring rolls or the sautéed corn. The beef in the spring rolls was chewy, tasteless, and loosely wrapped. It’s a mess to eat! The sauteed corn lack flavor. I don’t understand how you can messed up such a simple dish. Our first time here and also our last. Those fake 5 stars reviews (1 review) will not keep you in business. You’re not fooling anyone but yourself. Take a cooking class or hire a better cook.

The restaurant was very clean. Very nice atmosphere. Restrooms were clean too! The owner was super welcoming and paid a lot of attention to our experience. She was super sweet and attentive. From how the utensils were wrapped to how she brings out fresh condiments for each dish, we could tell she really cares about the food she serves. We got the Salted Iced coffee, Bun Bo Hue, Com Bo Luc Lac and Banh Bot Chien. All were tasty, and we were glad we made the stop. The taste reminded me of home-style cooking. Gotta come back and try the clay pot family dishes! PS sorry I’m not a good food picture taker 😂

Newly renovated and clean! Service was superb. The food presentation was good and prices were fair. Authentic Vietnamese Que cuisine. 4/5 The banh beo combo came with 3 banh beo, 3 banh nam, 3 banh bot lot, and 2 banh it tran. 4/5 The bo la lot came with banh hoi pineapple and cucumbers. 4/5 Mam nem and nuoc mam were good (sauces)

Formerly known as Com Tam Ban Toi. I used to come here all the time when I lived in southwest. They have renovated and changed their name. Not sure if they are the same owners as before, but food and atmosphere were phenomenal. Came in on Sunday evening and was greeted by the waiter, got seated right away and handed us the menu. My husband and I quickly look through their menu. What we ordered: Appetizers Banh Loc Tran (H4) Banh Nam (H5) Entrees Bun Bo Hue Dat Biet (BH1) Com Tam Suon Dac Diet (C2) I would pass on the banh nam, but everything else was great. The com tam came with a lot of food (see picture) and the pork chop was huge! The bun bo hue was very flavorful and had a perfect kick of spicy from the broth.

I have been here twice because they have a pretty big menu, some times when a restaurant with big menu, it means the foods are not great but I can say the diffident food, I tried both times they were all good and delicious. The service was good since they are not packed, I like the mural on the wall. The server answered all the questions we has about the menu. I would come back and try the other food on the menu.

Took a chance at this new restaurant and no regrets whatsoever! The moment I stepped in, the owner greeted me so warmly, I already felt the good vibes. I absolutely loved the decor as well, everything just felt warm and welcoming. I had such a hard time choosing what to eat because the menu was so extensive. But in the end I chose bun nem nuong-- which exceeded my expectations. Portion was very filling. I'm normally not a nuoc mam girly but they formulated it so well together with everything that I forgot I was eating it. And last but not least-- cafe muoi! The best coffee I've had in a long, long time. Would definitely come back again.

This is a relatively new restaurant in Bellaire that my dad and I saw while driving around and decided to take our family to try it. The interior looked pretty clean and modern. My dad and brother both got the Bo lúc lắc and it was cooked pretty well. The beef was tender and full of flavor. My mom got the bun mam and I liked it as well. It has the fermented fish broth flavor that I was looking for. My grandparents got a bunch of hue dishes such as bánh beo and bánh nam. I love bánh beo but the ones here are thick and reallly stick to the bowls. My cousins and I got rice plates with various meats. I got the sliced pork and I liked it. Now to why I'm giving this place a lower rating despite some pretty good food. The service at this restaurant is pretty bad. Our server forgot to get us water or ask us for drinks. And when he did bring us water, he didn't bring enough for the whole table and didn't come back with more so we had to flag him down again. Also when taking our orders, he forgot to put down my order and my cousins order, so we didn't get to eat until the rest of our family was finishing up. I understand that they are a relatively new restaurant that just opened so the service has room to grow in the future.

this is such a hidden gem! It is a mom and pop shop and they literally had one man running the show. He was very attentive and had great suggestions. We ordered the "banh it" to share, it had a mince meat/veggie stuffing on a crispy cracker. A hue classic. My sister got the Bun Bo Hue (beef) and I got the bun riêu (crab/tofu). The place bought back mother land vibes of Hue. I would come back and try other stuff!

One of my favorite comfort spots for Vietnamese comfort food with generous portions. My girlfriend and I ordered the eggrolls, but the server forgot, so we ended up canceling them--not a big deal since the mains were really filling. I had the BBQ pork rice plate, which was smoky, tender, and slightly sweet. The meatloaf on the side was flavorful and well-seasoned, but the shredded pork was dry and a bit gamy for our taste. The bun bo hue had a rich broth, but it wouldve been better if it was spicier

Found another decent spot to get some Vietnamese comfort food on a cold day! Served was quick to attention and nice, even though he did forget to put in our egg roll appetizer but it's ok because our main dishes were big portion and really yummy still. My bf ordered the bbq pork rice plate, it was good tender and slightly sweet and smokey. I really like the meat loaf that comes with the plate too, the shredded pork was very gamy that we didn't like it that much, but the dish overall was good. I ordered bun bo hue, wished its spicy like it says in the menu, but the soup itself is still very soothing. Good portion of meats and noodles. Was not very crowded on a weekend night, it was nice and quiet to get some comfort food on a rainy day.

Some of the BEST Vietnamese food I have ever had in Houston! Could not recommend enough- very clean, kind service, and such a diverse menu! Even with so many Vietnamese restaurants in the area, this one still shines.

I gave Com Quê two chances before leaving a review. I really wanted to like this place, but I don't think I will come back . service is non existent here you have to ask for what you need. the server will never come and check on you (even though both time we went there was maybe 2 other tables) I've ordered the Com dishes both times and both times the "CHẢ TRỨNG HẤP" tasted SOUR and OLD! which is disgusting ! the second time we went they forgot 1 of our order and the server didn't even apologize and was very nonchalant about it. there are other places in bellaire that offer better tasting cơm dishes then here.

This place really hit the spot! I ventured in and was hoping to find something similar to homestyle foods and this was it. The menu is extensive and has tons of options. I was the only other customer here during lunch and the waiter came out and took my order. I had the Bun Bo Hue Suon Bo and it was a true delight. The broth was delicious and light and the mam ruoc is great with it. Their mam ruoc is most likely made in house and I loved it. The suon bo was super tender and the noodle dish overall was amazing. It's a good portion, not small but also not massive. I am glad I gave them a try despite the other reviews and I'd love to return and try the other dishes.

First time trying this place, and it was great! Got the banh beo, which has tasty toppings but a bit too thick for me. Also got the banh mi bo kho, which was really tasty. The tendon was super soft, which is the make or break for me

Pros: Nice decor. Ample parking. The server thought she could just memorize our order instead of writing it down. Unfortunately after 20 minutes, an employee from the back came out to ask what we had ordered again. As noted in other reviews, the food arrived cold. My son and I had the same dish, and the pork skin was as tough as rubber bands. When we informed the waiter, he offered to bring us a fried egg instead. He did bring a fried egg, but just one, despite the fact that we had ordered two plates, both with inedible pork skins. It seemed he expected us to share the egg. The egg cake was the only thing good on the plate. But, they give only an amount the size of a triple A battery. My wife had the braised catfish and the soup, which were clearly not made fresh and tasted like they had been reheated in a microwave. Unfortunately, we will not be returning.

Maybe I ordered the wrong dish. This was the toughest/ chewiest Bo luc lac I've ever had. Beef was way over cooked, egg was over cooked (had to add my own egg) and lacked flavor.

The greatest vietnamese food I've trie din Bellaire, which is a big take since i ve visited and tried restaurants all arousn China town for all my life. Portions were massive and their beef wrap were phenomenal. Place deserves all the hype and I cannot believe this restaurant has fallen out of my radar several times when traveling to bellaire

Yes, there are many Vietnamese restaurants and one stands out and that's Com Que - Translated Country Rice. The quality of food, cleanliness and friendliness is top notch. The staff greets you with a smile and speaks Vietnamese and even though I don't speak it, it sounds pleasant when they are that friendly. Don't worry, there are plenty of staff who speak fluent English. Menu is extensive and food quantity is pre-COVID as is the price. They have family specials with multiple dishes I have to try and get I saw guests eat. They have common staples at a Vietnamese restaurants but have additional items I've never seen before that were delicious. The restaurant is cute and clean. The decor is Vietnamese cute, like the Vietnamese people. = )

Really nice makeover from the previous establishment. Spoke to the owner and she is an extremely nice and accommodating. The service was fast, friendly and flexible. We order the broken rice dishes, the pork chop was a bit dry mainly because that piece didn't have much fat on it but was alright. The grilled pork however was bursting with flavors. My wife is sensitive to sodium and asked for complimentary soup to have nothing added to it. It came out perfect for her and for me I agreed that the broth was very nice. I posted the menu and the food, was pretty decent. We'll be back to try out their other offerings as well. Good place for lunch or dinner.

Good food and service, serves family style dishes also. The braised clay pot dishes are good, the beef rib pho with wide noodles has good flavor, the broken rice dishes are served well too, the meat needs more seasoning but overall it's not bad.

New place 12/25/24 Ordered com tam bi cha thit nuong. Excellent, nice presentation, lots of meat, good flavor, plenty of food, price only $14.50 great value. I'll definitely be back.

The rice plate was generous portion but the egg meatloaf was cold. Pork chop was ok. Nothing else was good. The pho was bland. Do not get the sugar cane drink, we order 6 @$5 each and tasted moldy. The owner did not care to take it off the bill.

Authentic and best tasting thin pork slices , heo luột khiá! Also delicious mackerel fish in tomato sauces served on very traditional dish wares. Don't forget to try their artichoke drink , really good , not too sweet . Really too bad I discovered this place on my last day in Houston before heading back to Los Angeles . The service is great and ample parking . Truly the best meal I had on this Houston trip .

The food was very authentic. It was so good. Service was very good they take care very well. Atmosphere is very nice and clean. It feels like ur in vietnam.

We went here for lunch and we ordered the following dishes - bánh hỏi thịt heo quay cuốn , the heo quay was old left over , we can taste that it was getting close to be sour taste. We did not even finish the plate . 2/5 - nem nướng cuốn bánh tráng , this was probably the only dish that was okay to taste. There were not much flavor to the Nem nướng 3/5 - we ordered the combo bánh bột lọc , bánh nậm & chả Huế, both the BBL & BN has the weirdest taste I have ever had . It is like they used the wrong flour for both of the cake , you can try it and give me your opinion . The Cha Hue is the worst of all, it is very powdery not even a consistency of the "chả" at all . The place is nice and clean , I like that , I have been here before and was wanting to give it a 2nd chance , the staff is friendly but over marketing on how good their foods were and according to me it was not up to standard . I'm sorry .

Came here because I saw it on Instagram and although the main dish was good; there were a few things I think could use a lot of improvement. I'm no stranger to broken rice plates and I had a really big issue with the pickled carrots / radish not having any flavor. It wasn't even pickled. I also had the soup come out COLD and had to ask the server to have it heated up. Those really help to bring the main dish all come together. I wish there was a way to give 3.5 stars, but I don't think I could give it 4 yet. I'll come back and give it another try, but it's an honest review and opinion, considering social media hyped it up so much to be let down by what seems to be insignificant, yet so BASIC! Wishing all the best to this place since it's very nice and clean!!!

Newly renovated facility. I never been to this location prior to the change, so I have no comparison to the ambiance or food. Apparently they are known for their clay pot dishes, but I decided to go for one of their broken rice dishes (grilled beef) and ordered their fried spring roll as my appetizer. The amount of fried spring rolls was worth it for the price. I hate it when restaurants give 2-4 small pieces for $8, it is such a rip off. It may not have been the best in presentation (in terms of being neatly rolled), but it definitely hit the spot and was delicious. The portion size of the broken rice dish DID NOT disappoint, especially when it came to the main protein. I was quite surprised with the portion as most restaurant's broken rice dishes are of fair portion sizes. I can typically scarf down a broken rice dish fairly quickly, but this one took me longer than usual. I was also surprised by how well made the egg meat loaf was. It was firm and it held its own, as compared with other restaurants, they typically fall apart with 1 easy cut. I easily cleaned this plate. I would definitely come again for the food. As for the service, it took quite a while to order (the waiter was quick to come initially, but I needed a bit of extra time to look over the menu), to receive the food, and to get the check. So in terms of what is needed for improvement, promptness from the waiting staff. 4.5/5

If I could give this place negative stars, I would. I came here with my wife on the first visit and we both enjoyed it. Our servers were two young men who were attentive and polite. We enjoyed the steamed rice cakes, caramelized fish, and the broken rice. We decided this place warrants a second visit with the entire family and this is when things went downhill. Our order was taken by an older lady with blonde hair, who was extremely rude and unprofessional. When ordering, my BIL asked her if the broken rice dish is enough for his two young daughters since they haven't been here before and had no idea what the portion size is like. Her immediate response was "How am I supposed to know?" I kid you not. But wait, it gets worse. My SIL ordered udon and what came out was missing some toppings. The lady patted my SIL on the back and told her to go ahead and eat it, and she'll take care of her. My SIL took it to mean the kitchen will make her another bowl, the correct one this time, so she gave the bowl to my wife to eat. About 5 minutes later, the lady came out and asked for the udon bowl so she can bring it back to the kitchen. Umm say what? And why didn't she take the bowl with her when we told her it was missing toppings?We told her we'll just keep the bowl as is since we already started eating it. And no, the story does not end here. My MIL ordered the water spinach with razor clams. When ordering, she confirmed with the lady that the dish came with razor clams since we've never seen such a combination before. The lady assured her that it does. Surprise surprise, the dish came out with only the water spinach. The lady said she will have the kitchen remake the dish and brought it back to the kitchen. She then came back to tell us that she put in the order correctly but the kitchen messed up so it's not her fault. Throwing her team under the bus just like that, how unprofessional. She informed us that she will charge us for the water spinach dish, and not the one with razor clams. Geez, thanks for the $2-$3 discount. When the dish finally came out, it was clear that they added the razor clams to the water spinach that was previously brought out since the vegetable is now a dark greenish brown and mushy. Fortunately, the mishaps ended here but the other dishes were bad to mediocre at best. The steamed rice cakes were undercooked so they were soggy and we could taste the raw flour mixture. The clear tapioca dumplings were old and stale so instead of being soft and chewy, they were dry and hard. The canh khoai mo was watered down and tasteless. Everybody agreed that we will never come back to this restaurant.

First time here and I will for sure come back! Amazing customer services, the owner was very nice .Mrs. Angel the restaurant owner was great and fun to talk to. The food was so good, i almost thought I was in heaven! I totally recommend! It is just like the real traditional Vietnamese food. 10/10

I'm so glad to visit this place at the right time. Only two months in this new place by the sweet owner herself, she had put a beautiful touch decor to Cơm Quê. I love the new look, the Vietnamese ambience surrounding, a very warm and inviting place for friends and family to gather. I got a variety of dishes to try and was very pleased with them all. I also had a great time chatting with the owner to know the feel and the value put in the making of the place. Definitely recommend this valuable tasty addition to the Vietnamese cultural part of Bellaire in Houston. I give this a four star for now because I have not try the majority of their selections yet so definitely more to come!

This is probably one of the best rice dish spots on Bellaire. Currently one of the best in Houston, owner is from California. I think she opened this place to share her love for quality Vietnamese food. I don't think she needs the money, so the food is genuinely good! I give it 8/10 rating, which is very high.

My wife and I were intended to eat a different place but just happened to see this new restaurant (Cơm Quê). So, we decided to give it a try..... we found the Cơm Tấm Thịt Nướng Đặc biệt " was very good with a side bowl of soup. The food was a little slow to come out. They even provided us pudding matcha. We will come back again.
