Visited Comal for dinner on M.G. Road and it turned out to be a delightful discovery. From the moment I walked in, the space struck the right balance between relaxed and stylish — warm exposed brick, hand-painted Talavera-style tiles and an open kitchen where you can see the chefs in action.
We started with their Chilaquiles — fresh, crunchy and full of flavour with just the right amount of spice and tang. The standout dish for me was the Canasta Basket Tacos — beautifully put together, vibrant, and surprisingly hearty for a vegetarian option. They had great texture and seasoning. For dessert, the Churros wrapped up the meal perfectly: warm, crisp and comforting. And the Horchata was refreshing and smooth, pairing really well with the food.
Service: the team was attentive, friendly, happy to explain dishes and never rushed us, which made the evening relaxed and enjoyable. It’s a great spot for a date night or a catch-up with friends.
Couple of tips:
It’s a popular place, so booking ahead (especially for dinner) is a smart move.
If you prefer milder or stronger flavours, don’t hesitate to ask — the staff are helpful with guiding spice levels.
For full enjoyment, go with company so you can try a variety of dishes and share.
All in all — if you’re looking for authentic Mexican flavours in Bengaluru (beyond the usual), with a beautifully crafted ambiance and service that matches, Comal is absolutely worth it. I’ll definitely be back.
