This was our first time to Puebla and we decided to try this place out. First of all, it’s right in front of the church in the center of the city. The restaurant is super clean, well attended and the personnel that work there are very nice. When you walk in, you see the cooks cooking the meals. Pro tip: Ask to sit upstairs where you can people watch and take awesome photos of the church. The food is delicious. Try the Mole poblano. It’s a perfect taste. Our servers name was Erick and he was energetic, patient, respectful and attentive. He was not pushy like some servers are. I 100% recommend eating at this place. We had a group of 10 people adults and kids. The atmosphere was perfect and the food was great!

Google
If you’re looking for the BEST view in downtown Puebla with amazing food and service - this is the place to go. Delicious Mole (Mexican traditional chicken) with amazing aguas frescas. Service was quick and attentive. Highly recommend going to the second floor as the best view is there.

Google
Absolutely loved it! Delicious! I would come back. The place is gorgeous and has great views of the Cathedral too. Try the Mole Poblano.

Google
The young Team gave us a warm welcome, they were patient with guests, which spanish is really bad. But it works and we had fun while our visit. We've ordered 5 Enchiladas con Pollo with each Mole they offer - and the Manchamanteles con Pollo. Now I know which Mole is , respective are, my favorites. I won't let you know, go there and try on your own. The dessert was pay de Limon and panque de elote, both were excellent. The menue offers you many varieties to mix the flavours they offer, which is great in my opinion. I would definitely recommend this place. Ps: Yes, I mix cake with Stout Beer...yummy

Google
The view is really good, if you get a table on the balcony you will have an excellent view of Puebla's cathedral. The food is not extraordinary but there are plenty of options, all of them for traditional local food.

Google
THE VIEWS!!! If you go for nothing else it’s got to be for the view. But the food makes it 5 star. The wait staff is extremely helpful and for those who speak little to no Spanish they have a QR code for the English menu.

Google
Please, there are people who are allergic to spicy food. If the waiter says the food isn't spicy, you should make sure it comes out without any spicy flavor. Changing the waiter after taking the order is a serious mistake because the person coming in doesn't know the customer's preferences. People can die from food poisoning. Be very careful. Very nice place. Very friendly people.

Google

Yelp
My familia and I stayed in Puebla town square and had a wonderful brunch at comal, right across from the Puebla cathedral. Ask for a table on the second story. The food is delicious, the service is wonderful and I had a memorable meal with my mother-in-law who ate chapulines for the first time. I highly recommending sharing the plates of Chilequiles and getting some apps. The staff couldn't be more kind and the food has us stuffed, happy, and fueled for a day of exploring! Food: 5/5 Value: 5/5 Experience: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambience: 5/5 Good for: long conversations and brunch. Authenticity: 5/5 Recommends: asking to eat at on the second floor for the ambiance. Sharing a plate of Chilequiles. Notes: Tourist Alert: If you're reading this, you might be a Western Tourist like me! I just want to flag that fact, cause this review is not by a local. This is a disclaimer inspired by a feature I would have wanted when I was in Italy (local v. tourist). Disclosure: I've grown up in Southern California with some great Mexican food. I like the spices so that's my filter. English Friendly? 4/5. You can get by with some basic

Yelp
My husband and I visited Comal for breakfast during our first to Puebla--what a gem! We sat on the second floor with an amazing view of the Puebla Cathedral. The servers were also incredibly friendly and welcoming. The food was very delicious with generous portions. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant during your time in Puebla!

Yelp
This is a touristic spot to eat, you're there for the view of the cathedral, the food is average, extensive local food menu but the portions are small and the prices big, quality and flavor were ok, neither good or bad. At least you get to try different dishes I guess. Not a coming back place for me.

Yelp
I read great reviews about Comal and wanted to try it. I think it's better for breakfast. Their chilaquiles look bomb! My friend and I shared a carne asada and enchiladas de tres moles. The mole poblano was very good and the pipián rojo was decent. Unfortunately the pipián verde was not good at all. The carne asada was also just okay. The meat needed more seasoning. The refried beans and guacamole were great though! The service here was not good at all. We had to ask multiple times for things. Although there were not many customers the waiters seemed to care less that we were just sitting there. I would return to try breakfast here, but I wouldn't come back for lunch or dinner.

Yelp
Stopped here hoping to try something new. The service was terrible. The guy who waited on us was far more interested in his lady co workers. When we finally got our food, it was garbage! Tasteless, watered down, crappy food! Needless to say, I will never eat here again!

Yelp
We looked for a family friendly place to eat while in Puebla. This is a great location to try local flavors that are authentic and well crafty. This restaurant offers a variety of classics local to Puebla, such as Molé, Cemitas, and the like. The service was very good, and we felt well attended to. The views from the upstairs dining area are incredible and cannot be beat! We enjoyed a variety of dishes as well as local drinks, such as Horchata, and other Aguas Frescas. The pricing was a little bit higher than other restaurants in the area ,but as this is a tourist destination, it was somewhat expected. Ample seating and bathrooms make this place even better! Be sure to ask to sit upstairs.

Yelp
Nice atmosphere- get there early to sit by the window. Great value, big portions, well made food

Yelp
Im kind of freaking out about where exactly to begin this review. Get the three moles enchilada plate. It has red, green and chocolate sauces. I stumbled upon this dessert that was kind of like plantain creme brûlée, or plantain pudding. I forget the name but it was out of this world. The place gives you free chips and salsa which is refreshing for us gringos. The place is right across from the cathedral and if you plan it right (go early) you can sit on the patio. The place gets busy.

Yelp
Everything was delicious!! The view was lovely, and they were able to accommodate our modifications (like adding egg to a cemita)

Yelp
From the exterior, there is not much to be seen as it seems like a huge place with a kitchen, as the kitchen is on the ground floor. Right in front of Publas main cathedral, I think it's a cathedral, pretty much on the main square of the city, filled with colourful buildings, colonial buildings, and great food. Once you pass the kitchen area, which we were greeted with enthusiasm and smiles, the place becomes colourful and eye-catching. I opted for the balcony for a great morning view. The place is mainly local Mexican cuisine. Food from Puebla like cemitas, any type of mole, and chiles en nogada mainly in the august/September season due to the pomegranate being in season in the region. I decided on the chilaquiles and the small sample of three cemitas. For the small sample of cemitas you get to choose what you want inside. I went for pipian, chicharron, and potatoes with like serrano or jalapeno peppers. The bread of the cemitas was fresh and fluffy. We are given sauces and blue corn chips as a small starter. The chilaquiles were very good but did not enjoy the chicken, it looked very fake due to the perfectly cut rectangles, not sure maybe it's beaten up flat and seasoned. You do get like a whole avocado on your plate, not cost as an American point of view this is a relief. For a drink, I opted for green juice. Very good, fresh, and tasty. My partner's food was good too, with red chilaquiles and an egg and a black coffee. The view is pleasant while admiring the colourful art and bubbly quotes from the inside. Take a photo.

Yelp
We had lunch there today on the upper floor with view on the cathedral. Service staff were very nice and helpful. Good was excellent. I can highly recommend

Yelp
Great simple cemitas (sandwiches) in a really nice second floor dining room overlooking the main church square. We let the waitstaff know we only had 30 minutes to eat so she recommended which items on the menu look the least amount of time - super helpful!

Yelp
Comal is located on the second floor and it gives you an Amazing view to the church across the street and the zocalo. The agua de horchata was delicious. The Chile en Nogada was different then others I have tasted. It was actually more sweet than any other one but still good. The service was quick and easy. Puebla is a beautiful place and this restaurant was great.

Yelp
Don't let the outside fool you. Excellent decor. Social distancing in the time of Covid-19 and all staff wearing masks. Very clean and modern interior. No menus were provided because of QR code for online menu. Easy to order. Top notch quality dishes. Watch out for the chili pepper in the guacamole. Otherwise all dishes were delicious or as we say in Spanish, muy rico!

Yelp
The service is fine, and the location opposite the cathedral with views across it are great. But it's a tourist restaurant and the food is below average. The cemitas had dry bread and not much flavor. The mole poblano was better, tho tepid, a bit overcooked, and dry. Best things were the simple ones, the salsas, the blue corn soft tortillas, the side of refried beans.

Yelp
The interior of the restaurant is very beautiful. It has a kind of like a courtyard within the restaurant. I ordered the mole poblano with chicken breast, which came with blue corn tortilla and a side of Mexican rice. The mole in Puebla is different than the ones I have had. It has a more chocolate sweet taste to it with a hint of spiciness. I love it!! The chicken breast was a bit dry but it complimented the mole sauce very well. They also give complimentary chips with four types of salsas for you to try while you wait for your food.

Yelp
Great food, excellent service, super location and view of cathedral. Waiter and waitresses were very friendly and eager to help. Prices of dishes are very reasonable. Dishes were just delicious. Wish had more room to finish

Yelp
Where do I begin! I will start with Aldo, our waiter. He was so attentive and greeted us with a warm smile. Try the two for one mezcals; your choice from a nice selection. My boyfriend had the carne asada plate. He loved it. I had the nopales with crispy crunchy chicarrón topped with avocado. . OH MY GOD!!! I added a chipotle mezcal drink that was to die for. I'm definitely coming back for second mezcal and maybe try the salads. Don't miss out on the cool vibes and fantastic food.
