hey say money can’t buy happiness, but it can buy tacos... and honestly, have you ever seen a sad person eating tacos? On a hunt for great Mexican food, I ended up at Comal Y Canela (1692B Jane St, York, ON M9N 2S4). A down-to-earth Mexican restaurant with an entirely halal menu, this place is a go-to if you want a chef quickly whipping up tacos, tortas, burritos & enchiladas! Onto what I ordered! The Nachos were crispy, cheesy, and absolutely mouthwatering, a perfect start to the meal. The Chicken Flautas were perfectly crisp with a tender, flavorful filling that made every bite a delight. For dinner, I had the Cheesy Birria Tacos, which were hot, gooey, and brimming with tender, flavorful meat—easily the highlight of the meal. Moving on to dessert, I tried the Lime Charlotte, Mi Vida (a beautifully executed tiramisu with a unique twist), and sweet breads—Mi Vida stood out with its perfectly balanced coffee flavors and smooth texture, making it an unforgettable end to the meal. To wash it all down, the Hibiscus Limeade (Jamaica) was refreshing and tangy, the Horchata creamy and comforting, the Jarritos Lime was crisp and citrusy, and the Mexican Coffee was smooth, richer than regular coffee, and the perfect end to the meal. We also added the Chicken Al Pastor, which was juicy with a hint of pineapple sweetness that perfectly complemented the savory spices. Everything was incredibly authentic, packed with flavor, and the portions were more than enough for five people. Bring an curious palette, an open mind, and a big appetite. Leave your preconceptions of Mexican food behind. I came here with my wife and kids so of course they wanted the taquitos and quesadilla. These authentic versions had my kids questioning everything they thought they knew about what they liked, these were delicious, massive servings, but nothing like what the kids expected. They described both dishes as having a sweetness, perhaps from the cheese, it was definitely an interesting and eye-opening version to them. Birria tacos were a hit with all of us, but the birria torta was a surprise hit that I will definitely come back for. The serving was a lot for me and I was able to take some hold and re-enjoy it later, LOL. The birria soup has a deep complex taste. It's so delicious and it's so nice to find a place where it has shreds of the meat inside of the soup - I could happily order a container just to drink by itself. Let me not forget about the nachos which are dangerously delicious and if you're not careful you could easily fill up on these. So watch out and don't ruin your appetite, like my mom would say. The red and green sauces have a good balance between taste and heat, we were eating the sauces with everything. The Michelada drink was superb and went with everything. Normally I'm not into a Cesar type drink but this one is different in the best ways. Yum.

Been going to this place for quite a while; definitely a great place with very friendly people. Everyone from the reception to the servers was excellent and friendly. Everything we ate was delicious and fresh. Would love to come back! Also, they have a lot of Halal options.

Google
Comal Y Canela never disappoints. Visited this restaurant with a couple friends after a few years, and absolutely love their recent interior expansion. The size and feel of the restaurant makes you feel like you’re in your Grandma’s kitchen, with the service being quick & what you’d like to expect. We ordered the Birria tacos, which are hands down the best in the City! Beautiful blend of beef & cheese, toasted on the soft taco shells till crisp - these are a must. We mixed in a couple of chicken & steak tacos too from their mix & match combo, and those were LOADED with meat. It’s important to note for the amount of food we ordered, the price we paid was quite modest for the quality of food. Would recommend going here if you haven’t, and hope to revisit this gem again.

Amazing authentic atmosphere and food! The staff were super nice and friendly! The best birria tacos I've ever had! Their other tacos were amazing too! Definitely coming back!

Google
This place has the best birria tacos at the best price! I enjoyed my entire experience here, the server was very friendly and took his time to explain the menu to us. The food tasted real and authentic and had delicious flavours. The atmosphere is like a little hut restaurant and very quirky. I hope they will expand the restaurant to accommodate more people. I would highly recommend you try this place if you are ever in the area!

5 Stars Visited Comal y Canela for Cinco de Mayo and had a fantastic experience! We ordered the birria tacos with consommé and the dipping taquitos—both were packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. The service was excellent; staff were super friendly and we were seated and served very quickly. Great food, great vibe—definitely coming back!

Google
It feels like an authentic Mexican restaurant. The service was great, food was served very quickly. Their Birria Tacos were so good. The portion sizes are worth the price. Will come here again!

Yelp
This is an exceptional restaurant for authentic Mexican food on the west end. The food here is bursting with flavour, and is halal! I particularly liked the Mi Vida dessert, it was a delicious rendition of tiramisu.

Yelp
I came here for the birria tacos because I heard so much about them! the ambiance at this restaurant is amazing. I love how they made a take out restaurant feel like a sit in, they took the outdoors and brought it inside. customer service was amazing, they made you feel welcomed and at home. they accommodated to their clients that spoke only Spanish and /or English. the food was pretty good. I got the ceviche, birria tacos and the chamoyada. the ceviche was really good, but it was more like a soup than a dip. the chamoyada like any other, just as good as I expected it to be. but the birria was the main reason for my visit. and I felt it was lacking. it was a little dry and not as juicy as I expected.

Yelp
I brought my mom to Comal y Canela because she hadn't had authentic taco before, so I thought Comal Y Canela, one of the best in Toronto would do the job. Oh boy, it sure delivered. The food is absolutely brilliant, fresh and delicious, although it was a bit pricy, which I think it was because I didn't order a platter to share (since I really want to have both birria tacos and gobernador tacos).
google avatar

Yelp
WOW what an amazing experience for Mexican food. It's so amazing that this place has halal options. This spot was quaint and felt super authentic. The service is so kind and attentive and the food get prepared so fast. The dishes are amazing and so flavourful! The Birria tacos were unbeatable. I would highly recommend this spot!

Yelp
This restaurant is an absolute gem! I've driven by it for years and finally decided to give it a shot. Woah! The food is amazing! The atmosphere is just so unique and makes you feel like you are in Mexico. The staff are so sweet, you can really tell they take pride in their work. A bit pricy but they give you great portions. This is authentic Mexican food and hospitality.

Yelp
Delicious birria tacos! It comes with birria sauce on the side and the portions are pretty big. The restaurant is very nice but small.
google avatar

Yelp
The service is fast the food is made to order and the staff are very polite in explaining things if you don't understand. The ambiance seems very relaxed the restaurant has limited seating and is quite tight but they are expanding. The food is good really authentic and flavor full. I ordered this burrito for take out and it was good. The pricing is around $15-50

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday afternoon with my boyfriend. Was quite busy, waited for approx 20 mins. Food- came here for the Birria tacos, flavourful and savory. Very filling!! The consommé was also very rich, and heart that complemented the tacos well. The 8 Birria tacos were a good amount for two people to share, and be full! Service-was good, but I could tell they were really busy and a little stressed/tired. They still did a great job, but could be a little bit more attentive. Parking - there's a lot that's right beside the restaurant.

Yelp
Yes, this place is hyped, but it's fully deserved. It was about a 40 minute wait when I arrived, but they took my number AND they also took my order. Even if I had to wait that long, it would've been worth it. But having already taken the order and prepping it meant it was really only a difference of about 10-20 minutes of when food arrived compared to another place that didn't have a wait. I won't get into all the food as we ordered a platter and several varieties of tacos. They were all amazing. Birria consume has become more common at Mexican places, but I've seen it on this place's social back a few years now. Obviously a consume will have a rich beef taste, but I still wasn't ready for theirs. Literally one of my favorite things this year. I had some leftover and made my own breakfast tacos the following morning. Dipping those in the Birria automatically made that one of my favorite breakfast bites too. My wife had originally thought we were going to a fancier place and was initially disappointed as it isn't fancy. However, that was immediately forgotten and forgiven right upon eating.

Yelp
Birra tacos were delicious but slightly overpriced for what you get. Definitely a hole-in-the-wall location and parking can be a nightmare but anything outside of the birra tacos was mediocre at best.
google avatar

Yelp
Juicy flavourful birria tacos. Best I've ever had. The broth was a bit salty and service was lacking a little

Yelp
Ok but the hype is reallllll! I'm always on the hunt for birria tacos in Toronto but I'm not in the city often enough lol. However, from the ones I HAVE tried (Birria Catrina, Gus Tacos, Molkagtez) they don't even compare to the ones at Comel y Canela. I find where most establishments fail is the consommé. Not here tho. They excel EVERYwhere. The tacos are hella stuffed with meat and nicely lined melted cheese. You top it off yourself with cilantro, onions and or lime. But trust, you need ALL the fixings. I don't even like onions but you need them. The broth is...everything you would imagine a consommé should taste like. SO much flavour and SO many chunks of birria. It's not too runny and the broth costs the tacos nicely when you dunk them. They are hella busy and the establishment is mad small. We had to wait about 35 mins on a Sunday around 2:30 for a table for 2. Trust me though, it was worth the wait. They take your order before they put you on the waiting list, so your food is essentially ready as soon as you sit down. Super convenient and efficient! I really hope they plan on expanding to a larger space cuz I want to come here alllll the time! They would do so well with a patio too!

Yelp
Overall: 4/5 Food: 4/5 - I felt like the birria tacos were really good, but were just lacking one extra ingredient or sauce. The gravy and taco together were awesome, but some sour cream or creamy sauce, would be perfect to me. Although, I do know that wouldn't be a traditional way to eat them, but just me. Service: 5/5 very friendly workers and really fast! Ambiance: 5/5 Not going to lie, this wasn't in the best area, but the vibe inside is so unique and cool, it really feels like being in Mexico again. Truly authentic and a cool vibe.

Yelp
Hidden gem of york area! It's one of the best places I've been to for the most authentic Mexican eats. They also have hahal options. Here's what we ordered: * Nachos $16.50 topped with diced smoked beef bacon +7.50 - 8/10 * Lime Jarritos drink and Fruit Punch Jarritos Drink $2.88 each - 8/10 * Gobernador Tacos (Shrimp) $22.60 for 3 - 8/10 * Birria Beef Stew $22.30 - 7/10 * Birria Tacos (beef) $39.80 for 8 tacos - 9/10 *The must-try here! We celebrated a friend's birthday here, and loved it. I recommend small groups or even just two people for this spot. The space is very small, can accommodate no more than 6 people. Servers are very friendly and quick. The decor and ambiance inside feels like I've been transported out of Toronto and into Mexican food haven. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
Cozy restaurant that looks to be an extension of a house with a lot of charm. We ordered the Birria tacos, chicken enmoladas, mi vida (Mexican tiramisu). The owners told us the enmoladas is made with over 30 ingredients. The Birria tacos will get us coming back for more. The owners says a lot of Mexicans love their enmoladas and there also a lot of unique items on the menu that piques my interest to try it next time. Definitely come visit for large array of Mexican eats. It was easy for us to get a seat for lunch on a weekday.

Yelp
Went here on Mother's Day and even though it's a six table seating area we were seated immediately. The food was impeccable and made with love. The family run restaurant was exactly as advertised, loving and delicious. I wish I could give it another star. It was a fabulous experience and the food was spectacular. A hidden gem that delivers in every way.

Yelp
Amazing. Literally. I'm not a huge Mexican food lover but this changed the game for me. I've tried am y places but this was the real deal. I had never enjoyed it as much as this. The service was wonderful and the food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the birria tacos and my cousin had ordered the taco mix and match and also the guacamole tortilla chips. All of these were delicious. We finished it all. Very small shop and not a lot of tables but worth the wait!
google avatar

Yelp
Food remains amazing and my favourite Mexican spot in Toronto. Tried the Birra tacos this time - they were amazing as expected. The chicken tacos remain my favourite taco on the menu. Tried the cheese quesadilla - it was incredible but it was more like a panzerotti. Updating because I tried new items and dined in. Dining in experience was good - service was average - quick to deliver food but did not refill water or return often. The ambiance is nice - cute decor and no background music, very enjoyable location for lunch. Must try restaurant.

Yelp
The food was good especially the birria tacos. They don't have any alcohol which was disappointing. The service was slow and inattentive, and we were not given an opportunity to even order desert since the waitress never came back. The ambiance was ok, somewhat authentic, but with weird Muslim iconography for some reason. It was pretty cramped in places too and the washroom was a bit dirty.
google avatar

Tas M.

Yelp
Very small dining area. You order your food and wait for a table. Once the table is ready, servers start you off with complimentary salsa and chips to munch on while you're waiting for your food. We ordered birria tacos, al pastor chicken tacos, and quesadilla. Along with horchata drink. Everything was delicious. Definitely one of the best tacos I've had. Great fast service.
google avatar

Matt C.

Yelp
The menu is extensive and can be a bit overwhelming if you have a hard time making up your mind. I recommend the gobernador (shrimp) tacos and the birria. Both are excellent. This place is a bit pricier than others in the city but the food is very good. The restaurant is quite small inside so be prepared to wait. If you're driving here be warned: the restaurant is located in a small plaza and parking is not easy. For sanity I'd suggest parking on a side street and walking over.
google avatar

Susanna W.

Yelp
Wow! I heard rave reviews about this taco place which is known for their birria tacos and man was I amazed. This style of beef tacos has a fried tortilla shell with cheese and and comes with onions and cilantro on the side. The star of the show however was the beef consommé that you dip the tacos in - with loads of meat inside and with all pure flavour and deliciousness. We also got an order of their chicken al pastor tacos which were also very delicious. We put in an online order and food was ready at the promised time. We hope to dine in next time instead of takeout to try out more of their menu.

Yelp
Catching on the trend of Birria Tacos! Comal Y Canela is hidden away within a plaza in a busy part of midtown. This is a tiny traditional Mexican kitchen that attracts many to try the best Birria Tacos in Toronto! It's the food that matters when coming for takeout. Birria Tacos include simmered beef in crispy tacos to dip in consommé. freshly-made tacos carry the grilled cheese & beef with birria stew. Dipping in consommé is even better as it's flavourful from hours of simmering with beef, onion & tomato. For a perfect finish, add salsa that's packed with decent heat! Look for the colourful floral exterior located in a tight strip plaza. There's no raging lines if you go early. Best to park on a side street. That way you'll be in & out for a quick taco run!
google avatar

Suren S.

Yelp
A tiny place but sooooo worth it. Only 6 or 7 booths so be prepared to wait. Or take out. It's delicious food and with the owner/chef there you can get a great story or two of her love for cooking.

Abigail S.

Yelp
This is my second time coming to this amazing place, Francis and her team Axel and Alix took such great care of us. The food is nothing short of perfect every time. Can't wait to come back.

Yelp
Food was incredibly amazing. Every plate was flavorful and delicious, this is really authentic Mexican food. Place was very clean and felt like home. Service was great, servers were active all the time and attentive to every customer. 100% recommended. Such a great experience.

Yelp
Loved the shrimp tacos and the birria here! Got takeout but hoping their new location opens soon as seating is limited and there are often lineups to order.

Yelp
This is maybe my fourth time in this place. Food was 5/5 everytime i come here. Good ambience the interior is very homey like a mexican traditional place and food. Their quasadilla is traditional , good frst few bites but its okay later on. Great music , friendly staff good service. Just parking is a bit weird but would come back for some more. Very quaint.

Yelp
If you're in the area, it's worth ordering takeout or dining in at Comal y Canela, an authentic Mexican restaurant at Lawrence and Jane with plenty of quirk and incredible food. Hailing from Mexico, the owner, Yasmen, serves everything from tacos, tamales, sope, quesadillas and birria tacos made from scratch every day of the week. And don't get me started on the tortillas! They're cooked on a comal griddle, giving them an authentic flavour that's hard to compete with!
google avatar

Lisa B.

Yelp
I had this restaurant on my bookmark list as it was on a list of authentic mexican restaurants. I was in the area and decided to stop by for take out. It's not exactly a sit down restaurant. Basically you order at the counter and they give you your food. If there's a place to sit in their covered patio then you can sit, but it fills up fast. No waiter service. I wanted to order so many things on their menu, but it was the birria tacos that really caught my eye. The person taking my order said that that was their specialty, so the deal was done. They were absolutely amazing. We also ordered the guacamole which came with homemade chips. The service was quick and friendly. After you order, they give you a little buzzer so that you can wait outside or in your car if you'd like.

Yelp
Very good authentic taco's, nice n cheesy with lots of beef Crazy fries was different with a sweet & savoury Service is good and if you are indecisive just ask (wait time may vary) A tad bit pricey if you have a big appetite

Yelp
Amazing Real Mexican food! I had 2 different tacos and they were both delicious! The dipping sauce was delicious also! I will go here a lot and I'm sharing the location with my friends and family! If You haven't tried it, Go! It's awesome!

Yelp
The best BlogTo discovery to date. Perfect way to end a Tuesday with their signature birria tacos and a few soft braised pork tacos and pork chorizo tacos for a variety of flavours for two persons. It was a lot of food and certainly fulfilling that we had to take a couple home for late night snacks. However we might just savour it for tomorrow haha. We avoided the dinner rush by coming in at 5pm so we were the only ones in the restaurant. Not sure if it was a slow night/day but it certainly deserves more traffic and attention on here. The place is really authentic and true to its culture and flavours from the decor, people, food and music. We really enjoyed it and can't wait to return for more before we leave the country.
google avatar

Yelp
Such colourful fun Mexican restaurant. A small but long line up. The only dislike forme is the plastic cutleries and amount of wastage. Apart from that service was quick, amazing birra tacos and food. Friendly and fast service.

Yelp
Growing up, we couldn't really afford to try many authentic foods. Mexican has always been a favorite of mine, but admittedly, I was lacking the true experience of it all. Fast forward to today, as I give Comal y Canela a visit! I ordered the BIRRIA TACOS (comes with 5) which also comes with a big bowl of consomme broth, salsa (your choice of mild, medium, or hot), as well as zip locks filled with lime wedges, diced white onions, and cilantro). My first thought was how content I was with the generous amounts of melted cheese in these tacos! I found the meat itself to be a little on the drier side, but dunking my tacos into the broth easily solved that problem, while also giving a blast of flavor (4.6 out of 5.0) If you're looking for a similar dish that is nice and saucy, I highly recommend the BIRRIA QUESADILLA. Definitely a beauty to the eye with its presentation (sorry for no photos!) but also pleased the tastebuds with its amazing flavor profile and juicy bites. I found the meat to be more tender in this dish. A 4.9 out of 5.0 rating from me, only because I personally don't love how prominent the taste of corn tortillas are. However, this was only problematic on the ends as eating everything as a whole masked the corn-taste. Shoutout to the team at Comal y Canela for such delicious food, as well as the friendly service! Not to mention, my food was service SO HOT. Despite this being takeout, it was still hot to touch when it came time for me to eat. They are currently running as a takeout restaurant, with 3-4 tables you can use just outside the front of the store. Even on a hot day like today, the seating was quite nice as there was adequate shade and fans running. Not to mention, nice vibes with their vibrant decor and music. Birria Tacos

Yelp
Comal y Canela - Let's taco about it. Location: 1692B Jane St, York, ON M9N 2S4 Birria Tacos (5 pieces) Price listed: $22.15 CAD Rating: 8/10 I'm a fan of tacos but don't often have the opportunity to eat them, so I was pleasantly satisfied with the birria tacos at Comal y Canela. The meat was nice and tender with the taco shell durable enough to handle the generous helping of sauce provided. Although I wish the spices were stronger for my palette, the additional sauces make up for it. My one gripe is that the price on the website doesn't align with the actual price paid. This was a group order so I don't know how the organizer paid but I paid $10 more than I expected. $6/taco is a fair price when you know that you're going to pay that amount. So just be mindful of that when you're ordering online. Overall, I enjoyed my eating experience at Comal y Canela and would consider going back if I was in the area AND they updated their website.

Yelp
OHHH Yeah. 100% worth the drive and the hassle of pandemic-eating in the car (aka layering a garbage bag across the front seats for a makeshift dining table)! It's a messy meal but also an incredibly delicious one. Just make sure the driver doesn't stuff themselves too much or they might just be tempted to fall asleep behind the wheel!! I've been seeing Birria tacos blow up everywhere on social media and I knew I had to make the effort to go and try it out. I'm glad I picked Comal y Canela because it definitely delivered. For $22 pre-tax, I was given 5 crispy corn tortilla tacos stuffed with cheese and pulled simmered beef that was served with a side of consomé and garnishes (cilantro, diced onions, two spicy sauces, and lime wedges). It was *chefs kiss* delicious. Definitely too much food for me but I know it wouldn't save well so I ambitiously devoured all five. Once dine-in is safe again, I would definitely be interested to find an opportunity to come back and introduce this delicious dish to family and friends! However, the one real downside to this restaurant for me is the parking. It's located at the corner of a strip plaza with very limited parking and faces a busy major road (Jane St) so be warned.

Yelp
I can't say that Comal y Canela was on my radar, but I'm always down to check out a Mexican-themed restaurant. So it was that we arrived at Comal y Canela right as they opened on a recent Saturday. It's an exceedingly small joint but we managed to snag one of the few booths. We were quickly presented with a small bag of fresh nachos and three hot sauces of varying spice levels, which turned out to be an ideal way to start our meal. The nachos were crispy and delicious, while the hot sauces were all really tasty and flavorful. A little while later, we were presented with a fourth sauce, a peanut-based concoction, and that one turned out to be my absolute favorite. My dining companion had heard that their Birria Tacos ("3 crispy golden tacos filled with pulled beef birria and melted cheese. Accompanied with lime wedges, diced onion, cilantro, house hot sauce of your choice and consomme") were exceptional, so obviously we had to order that. They're terrific. They're cooked perfectly and full of delicious, tender meat. The accompanying components all enhance the tacos perfectly, and that consomme, which is loaded with shredded beef, is absolutely incredible. Somehow that wasn't the highlight! We also ordered the Michoacano Burrito ("Giant flour tortilla with an inner cheese crust, black bean purée, tail to snout diced braised pork, onion, avocado, crema fresca and queso fresco"), and to call it incredible is almost an understatement. This now ranks as one of the best burritos I've ever eaten, and I've eaten a lot of burritos. Everything just works so well, from the irresistible cheese to the tender, delicious pork to the perfectly-pressed exterior, and I honestly could've eaten about eight of those things in one sitting. I also want to shout out the service, which was super friendly and helpful from start to finish. Comal y Canela is pretty much the definition of a hidden gem.

Yelp
I heard so much about this place that I wanted to try it, and I liked the food, it was very tasty, a little pricy but it was good and filling. The only thing I was not happy was with the guy taking orders (large guy), he didn't speak Spanish or pretended that didn't speak Spanish, but it's a Mexican restaurant in an area with lots of latinos, a few of the customers didn't speak English and were having a hard time putting an order. The poor customers were asking other people to help them. I think they should put a bilingual person taking orders, because that guy was not exactly great at his job. When I put my order, he right away told me "only English" . Not happy with his attitude

Yelp
Have had takeout from here before. Very good food, so I took a guest for lunch. The interior is so legit. Super friendly service. We had burritos. One pork and one chicken. The chicken was incredibly well prepared and absolutely delicious. Pork burrito could have been slightly more flavourful but we both left feeling satisfied. Had 2 of the juice drinks and sides were pico de gallo and a small serving of the pickled onions and jalapeños. Our server gave us some chips and a selection of hot sauces as well. Because of the positive social media it has received we saw some sensitive Hipsters at a table. It was a shock to see people like this eating heartily without annoying staff with food sensitivity questions. But thankfully most customers were from the area and certainly not discussing gender issues. All in all if you want fantastic authentic Mexican food in a proper setting this is it. I would give 5 stars but in my opinion the prices are somewhat high.

I order from uber eats and did not receive my order, I also tried calling comal y canela but was not able to reach out so I lost 50$

Yelp
Since moving from LA to Toronto I am always on the hunt for good tacos. I stopped here and had the carnitas. I ordered a plate which came with 4 tacos and I ordered some horchata. The person I ordered from was very nice. The price tag of over 25 bucks definitely hurt though, I won't lie. In LA I was used to paying like maybe 10-12 bucks tops for 4 tacos and horchata? The tacos were very good, it came with a great salsa, and I liked the onions. The horchata didn't seem like it was made from a mix. I enjoyed the tacos here and would go back. Though, if you are from like LA or Mexico there might be some sticker shock.

Yelp
Tucked into what seems like a hastily made addition to a building the corner of Jane Street and Lawrence Avenue West is one of the most authentic Mexican restaurants in Toronto. There is a well organized pickup counter for takeout orders at the back, and a colourful, fully-covered space with room for maybe a dozen people. I read an article where the Chef / Owner of Gus Tacos praise this restaurant and that was enough for me. They serve Mexican food with tamales, sope, quesadillas and birria tacos made from scratch every day. Homemade tortillas are cooked on a comal griddle like in Mexico and canela (cinnamon) I'm told can be found in just about everything on the menu. I placed an order for pickup using their website, which was a bit confusing at first, but figured it out quickly. You can specify a time, which I did, and the order was ready when I got there. All reviews were praising their birria tacos, a stewed beef and cheese taco that is fried on a grill until crispy and served with a mind blowing flavourful consommé. One order of 5 tacos is about $22, but was worth it. There was traffic driving home and I was worried the food would have lost their texture and flavour, but the well packaged order (15 tacos, home guacamole and nachos) were warm and delicious. The order came with limes, onions and cilantro so that we could add to taste. I can't stress enough how delicious the tacos were. Can't wait to go back and highly recommend!

Yelp
3.8/5 I used to get my Mexican fix from here for many yrs. My absolute go to was Comal y Canela Sope. Home made style gooey meaty stuffed fresh masa covered with two flavourful salsas was undeniable the best sope in town. Unfortunately ever since this place got spot light from media for doing God's work by helping those who need the most during covid periods, they got extremely busy and had to cut down the menu to keep up with crazy orders. While I was happy for them to getting the attention they deserve, I was so sad for quality of food isn't as homemade as it used to be (dry meat, missing salsas here and there). During my last visit, they seem to figure out how to manage high demand better than before but still has some hiccups. Hopefully they will sort that out near future. Now that sope is not available, my next recommendations are their diy tacos + birria. Birria tacos are also very good but when you can order family style tacos and add birria, you kinda don't need to order birria tacos. As much as I hate to say this but their mango chamoyada seem to use frozen mango and it's as flavorless as you can imagine from store bought frozen mango. So I recommend people to stick to regular drinks here. The place is very cute but it's extremely narrow and small. It's almost impossible to have peaceful dining experience as people will constantly pass by your table for pick up or get a table. It's kinda chaotic here. Plus the neighborhood can be little scary at night so keep these in your mind when you plan your visit. There's cash discount available. I will continue my business with this place to get my taco craving fix but won't do any dining unless they move to bigger location.

Yelp
The food was bland and for the pricing, I've had better street tacos. I would not recommend the birria tacos from here

Yelp
Had the carnitas and the flautas. Really excellent. Would go back for sure. The hot sauce had a lot of depth of flavour as well, I'd buy a bottle of it.
