With 3,000 meters Pico Duarte is the highest peak in the Dominican Republic and all the Caribbean but roaming around the highest point in Cuba, just under 2,000 meters, is an extraordinary adventure, where you may meet some of the kindest people on earth and while this is where the so-called revolution was set afoot, many folks still live without electricity or basic comforts, ironic, since it was them who fed Fidel & Che and the lot, one way or another. But while that was long ago, here in Turquinolandia it seems like just last week.
