A wonderful hostel, well-suited to people with various needs and limitations. The staff was friendly and welcoming, with the very nice Gioele😊 welcoming us late in the evening after arriving straight from the airport – kind, helpful, and very approachable. The room was cleaned every day, with new towels and trash removed. We even had a refrigerator in the room, which far exceeded our expectations. Thank you for considering our request, which stemmed from my travel companion's health and disability😍. This is definitely a place I will recommend to good friends and acquaintances planning a stay in Bologna. We easily reached the hostel by bus number 30, although on the day of our arrival, we walked from behind the main station. I also thank the receptionists👍🏻 who lent me a pen overnight and gave me a piece of paper so I could jot down our sightseeing plans for the following day. Only on the last day before catching the train to Florence did we use the bar at the reception, but the coffee and toast were fresh and delicious. I recommend this place to everyone!👏🏻🫶🏻👍🏻👌🏻🇮🇹🇪🇺🇵🇱

I was planning to stay just under a week at Combo at the end of July 2024. The heat was pretty extreme, even for someone from Australia, and the 20min walk in direct sun to get there from the station was pretty brutal. However, it didn't end there. My shared dorm room was boiling as it was on the top floor, so I asked my roommates why they didn't have the AC on. Turns out, they did, and it was hardly making any difference. It was a small AC unit mounted on the wall furthest away from the beds, and it wasn't blowing much cold air at all (even though it was showing 18ºC + full fan on the control). I asked reception to fix it, and they said they adjusted the settings to make it cooler, but it didn't make a noticeable difference. Opening the window was actually more effective but still too warm, plus noise. After still being hot after a cold shower + draping wet towels over my body, I ended up grabbing my blanket + pillow and sleeping in a conference room on the ground level which was actually cool.||Checked out the next morning and went to stay at a hotel that actually had proper AC.||I know Europeans and Aussies have different views on AC, but in my opinion a quality AC unit that can actually cool down a room to an acceptable temperature is a *must* for somewhere like this in the summer. I don't think the units in the top floor rooms are powerful enough, and a boiling room is not healthy at all.||In comparison, I stayed at a Yellowsquare hostel in Milan and the AC worked beautifully—the room was nice and cool.||I'd recommend not staying here in summer and staying on the ground floor at a minimum. Also worth noting there is a train line right next to it. The lawn / umbrellas area is nice though!

Key the receptionist was super nice! Helpful and smiley. We had a bad feeling in one of the shared rooms and immediately worked out the issue. I’d recommend after you’ve experience the hostels scene. Very clean, nice kitchen, nice vibe. Location seems a bit shady, but safe with daylight. Overall a nice stay!

i had the best stay. the man who helped me at the desk, i cannot remember his name but he needs a raise! he gave me the best walking tour when i was disappointed that there was no tour provided like hostelworld said, he recommended restaurants and gave me a brief history of the attractions and you could tell he was passionate about his job. he later helped me when i was coughing and offered me hot water even after i had checked out and was waiting for my train. the most caring hostel staff i've ever come across and an amazing cafe too. rooms were impeccable and showers were very good. would highly recommend to anyone visiting bologna

Everything was fine and the staff was always super friendly. In one night we heard a lot of the talking in the room above us, but otherwise we had a really nice experience. Combo connects the chill atmosphere of a hostel with some conveniences of a hotel and they are good at it! The breakfast basic, but had everything you need and you can have as much coffee as you like. We loved the terrace, but mosquitos seem to be a big thing this year. They had anti-mosquito-spray for free at the reception. The hotel is near the train station and parking is at the hotel. Walking to the city centre is possible, but will take more than 20 min. There is public transport to the centre.

Best hostel i have ever been! It's more like a hotel. Clean and spacious rooms. Very helpful staff. Location super near bus/train station and tourism attractions. Breakfast was the same every day, but that's ok. Kitchen very good if you want to cook, plenty of space. Espresso in hostel 1.30€ super price. Their yard was the best for summer evenings.

We stayed for just one night and really wished we could have stayed longer! A little corner of paradise, peaceful and close to the train station. We were upgraded for free to a room just for ourselves. The room was spacious, clean, even luxurious! And the staff were very kind and welcoming. I highly recommend it!

So first the reception: amazing people working there! So friendly and you just love talk to them. You really feel welcomed and it’s really nice. The hostel itself is really clean so that’s the most important thing. The kitchen is HUGE! You have everything you need and more. It’s one of the biggest hostel kitchens I have seen so far. In general the shared rooms and equipment in the hostel is really good. It got kind of an school trip vibe so I would say it would be perfect for groups, but also single traveling people and even families. The only negative point I have is the location of the hostel, because you need to walk a bit from there but also to be fair: Mostly I walked in generell through Bologna and it is worth it. It’s also not too big so you can manage it, but it’s not in the center of course.
