Amazing venue in Austin, TX. Great sound, fantastic staff. Tons of space. There’s a bar with tons of drink options. There’s a patio with smoking. Great venue for bands and fans.

Seen letlive and beauty school dropouts there. Absolutely amazing venue! Felt great, solid sound, views galore, reasonable prices. Top notch, can't wait to go again.

Texas Harm reduction alliance hosted a community Overdose Awareness Day in honor of people we have lost. Had a great time..for "Austin OG's" this is the old club chaos. lol Drinks were good, great prices. Chill have- fun club vibe. Be safe and have fun

Great venue. Killer sound and the house sound guy was really nice and great to work with. A bit younger but really knew his stuff. The whole vibe and look of the room was really nice, the community is clearly fortunate to have this venue here. The bar had a great full section also, the bar tenders were just a little serious but they were fast and professional. I really loved the views from upstairs also, nice Birds Eye view of the stage. Very nice Live Music venue with most shows being "All Ages" with a fantastic atmosphere, sound system, and friendly staff. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING place if you like live music in small setting as opposed to arena concerts.

Recently, I went to see a show yesterday with the Koffin Kats headlining. It was genuinely the most fun experience! I've never been to a live music showing in a small venue/bar, especially one in the more punk/rock genre. I loved it! The venue was very cozy but didn't feel too small. I got to see most of the show from the balcony, mostly because I'm on the shorter side and I could compete against all the taller folk on the ground floor. Bar service was quick, and the lovely people in the merch corner were very wonderful. Clean bathrooms! Lots of space to see the stage and seating around the bar area. There were also lots of monitors upstairs and downstairs around the bar that showed the stage! Definitely recommend visiting!

Definitely a good venue for shows. I keep on seeing people saying they were "robbed" of $35, not sure how that happened. I've been here well over 10 times and I have never had any issues with my tab. The only reason why I put 4 stars is because of the pillars that are blocking the stage views if you're at the bar. Of course, they provide TV's so you can see the show on there. It's obviously not a big issue for me because as I said before, I've been here well over 10 times. Keep on rockin'!

Great venue for metal/rock. Always some touring musicians in the crowd. Everyone is extremely friendly. Don't skip the merch tables in the back. Staff is helpful and courteous. Plenty of parking in their lot. Seating is almost non existent.

A metal music venue that simultaneously gives log cabin and biker bar vibes. Plenty of parking, good beer selection, their lineup of future shows displayed on screens throughout, and live camera feeds of the performance stage near the bar. There are three viewing areas: (1) the floor/pit, (2) a raised platform area in the back of the first floor that's great for petite concert-goers like myself that often have trouble seeing the stage when it's packed; and (3) a wrapped balcony on the 2nd floor. Sound quality is great, I'm not going to pretend like I'm an expert but their speakers and equipment allow for good audio balance. And there's an outdoor space for people to chill, drink, and smoke. Had a pleasant experience, and would visit again!

This place scams people. Will never go back. I checked where to park and the guy said I'm good to park where I did. I came out and there are boots on everyone's cars and they are harassing people to pay $100 to get the boots off. Scam stay away.

Excellent sound and bar. I hope this venue stays in Austin forever. There is plenty of free parking if you're early to the show. My friend's truck got keyed, though, so maybe take rideshare here.

Back in the day I used to frequently come to this venue location when it was known as Kaos Nightclub (good times for sure!) but I hadn't been to this venue now that is it known as Come and Take It concert venue. So imagine my excitement getting to come back to my old stompin' grounds when I realized that the concert I had bought tickets to (Freestyle Divas concert on 05/26/2023) was going to be held here BUT that excitement quickly disappeared once I got there. The outside of this venue is great because it has its own parking lot w/ plenty of parking space all around but the inside has a funky layout of the stage so depending on where you standing, you won't be able to actually see the artists performing on the stage. There were a few small screens mounted on the walls for you to view the stage but with this venue not being very big inside, it goes to show how poor the layout is. It felt very closed in because it was crowded w/ others all around you. To sum it up, not seeing myself attending any more concerts at this venue any time soon. Rebecca

Went to this bar for the two Disney and 2000's throwback nights they've hosted over the last couple months. Both times were meh, to say the least. The only part of this bar that I liked was the music playing, thanks to the incredible traveling DJ's! But that's about it. Don't be fooled by the big "Come and take it live" sign outside. That's about the newest thing in this bar. Everything from the restrooms to the bar area and upper level in the back felt very old and worn. It's also on the smaller side, but that didn't really bother me much. I felt like it was a good size for the type of events I went to. The bartenders are some of the worst I've ever come across and are the reason I decided to write this review. Had some of the worst tequila of my life the first time I was here. The mixed drinks overall were not very good and were watery and weird. The second time, I learned better and stuck to canned drinks. But even their selection of cans is limited. And above all, the bartenders are not very pleasant people. I thought maybe it was just an off night the first time I came here. But both night, every single bartender I ordered from or interacted with was mean and rude. I understand it's a tough job. But this was far beyond an "I hate my job" vibe. I could also understand having to be more aggressive when dealing with people who are drinking. But this wasn't that, either. It felt like they would go out of their way to be intentionally rude. It really takes a lot to leave this much of an impression in a one or two-minute interaction. I've been to a lot of bars in austin in my day but have never been to a venue where almost all of the bartenders are disappointing. Should be obvious by now, but to make it clear, I would not recommend coming here. And if you do, be sure to keep your expectations very low.

By far the WORST venue I have ever been to. Talk about a poor viewing experience, the layout of this venue is absolutely terrible. There is a lower/pit area that is somewhat tiered, and an upper/balcony section that wraps the rectangular area of the venue, with the stage at one of the narrow sections of the area, meaning unless if you're TALL, or right at the railing of the balcony, you are pretty much going to see NOTHING, which is probably why they have TVs in the bar area, so you can really *experience* the concert live... Also because of the layout of the venue, if you're upstairs the acoustics are really weird and don't sound right, and you can't see anything. The tiers in the downstairs are so short that it hardly does anything and they're so small that they get packed and really provide no benefit to being tiered. Definitely won't be going back to this location for another concert - what a shame!

This was a very fun little place. Surprisingly a whole lot of parking for this venue. The sound stage is a little small and extremely loud so please bring earplugs. They're seating areas around the stage too. The bar seems to be filled with everything you could want within reason. You're willing to mix drinks and things of that sort. And if you just want water, their fountain has cups so you can serve yourself.

Great music venue. Love the layout and the sound is great. I also loved the bar staff. Great folks!

Can't give it a full five stars because I didn't order anything at the bar and can't judge their selection/prices. Just wouldn't be fair. But otherwise, this is now probably one of my favorite spots in Austin to see a show. While I'm not the biggest metal fan, I have an appreciation for it. So when my friend said if I wanted to go to a metal show up in Austin, I said, "Sure! Why not?" And you know what? I had a hell of a great time. The tiered experience is what made this the best for me. As a delicate flower, old and frail, I surely would have been crushed into Cynthia-wine had I been in the low level pit. Instead, I was safe against the barrier on the second level, with still an OUTSTANDING view and still able to head bang to my fluffy head's content. (there was yet one more tier, too) The music was pretty good with Wolf King and Rivers of Nihil being my favorites. Who knew metal and sax went so well together? Overall it was an energy packed show and, yeah, I'd definitely go to another metal concert. Fo sho!

Come and Take It Live is hands down the best place for metal concerts in Texas. The venues set up is the best I ever seen. Safety is their number priority and staff don't tolerant foolish behavior. When I'm Austin for a concert, always look for come and take it for the best experience.

Took my daughter to a concert there's great experience. Not super big but great atmosphere for a small music venue.

Went there last night 3/3/23 and I just looked at my bank account they gave themselves a$20 tip on 2 drinks after I marked in the tip $10 on top of giving cash. Won't be back definitely will let friends know what kind place this is. Basically stealing from customers.

Come and Take It Live has the potential to be the greatest rock club in Austin, however, poor management and ownership has ruined this club. I've worked with Come and Take It before they owned this club. I used to do in-house ticket giveaways. I have covered numerous concerts there as a promotor and journalist. Literally, I've given them millions of views. Recently, I was assaulted by a staff member. There was no damage control. The head of security bullied me. I am a disabled person and was greatly hurt, no ambulance was called. I was told I had to leave the property. I went to the Shell station next door and called the police and pressed charges--assault on a disabled person. I am not sure if they arrested my offender, most likely, and I will see him go to prison. It's sad that after a ten-year relationship with this club and organization that it had to come to an end. It's not like this was the first time, though, I have been repeatedly threatened and assaulted by their staff. They don't treat their artist very well, either, making them sell tickets to open for major artists. The worst, the most dumb founding example of this was Flesh Hoarder having to do this when their founding member is a member of Philip H. Anselmo and Illegals. On this night, Flesh Hoarder opened for Philip's other band, Superjoint, but had to sell tickets. This club makes no sense. I am relieved to not deal with them anymore. The club only caused anxiety!

I really thought that this venue was so awesome. It is a great. There's even a ramp for the stage for the band, so that they don't have to lug their gear all the way up. That was so thoughtful in their makeup of the place. Every band I saw came from out of town and they were all so excited and honored to play there. The staff was so accommodating. They were always making sure that we were comfortable and anything we needed was taking care of. They went over and beyond in their customer service. The ambience is great too. I love all the events that they have and it's a fantastic place to hang out in the outskirts. Highly recommend.

Loved the Eddie Zuko concert! The place was nice and dark ready for live concerts, we love that! The drink choice was big and they kept tabs open without having to hold my card. No food that I am aware of but plenty of drinks! Would ho back if another artist I like was playing.

Came to see Bilmuri and Knox. Was super impressed with the venue. Very intimate setting and wasn't too jam packed. Wish we had a venue like this in houston.

Great venue. Huge area for a pit and a nice area if you just want to listen to the bands without putting your body in jeopardy.

Loved the venue!! I was going there the first time to see my son perform for the Tool tribute. His band was Imperfect Circle. This was his first gig and the owners let my daughter bring my grandson to see his uncle, who is 15 months. He even loved it. I want to say thank you to all of y'all who came out to see them.

Was kicked out of this establishment and not let back in for letting someone take a drink of my drink. After a rude interaction with a member of security, we watch that same member let individuals in unmarked without an ID in front of us. I respect being strict, but not when it is blatantly inconsistent and aggressive. Either enforce the rules or don't! Not a fun way to spend your night. Edit: to follow up they also did the thing where they charged me 35 dollars for an 11 dollar tab that was closed out and I have the receipt to. Never coming here again.

I tipped $6 on a $14 tab. And they tipped themselves another $15 on top of that. this is the second time they've purposefully tipped themselves extra. Support local and touring bands, don't support this venue.

THIS PLACE WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY Came in to a show the other night, not my first time. And again, bar staff was not pleasant. I ordered two Dos XX from a curt bartender and left my open tab that night assuming they'd add a 20% tip afterwards. I check my account and they had charged me $35 for two drinks. Absolutely UNACCEPTABLE. They've eternally lost my business. I'm going to steer people away from this place in the future.

I came in from out of town on the 10th for the Alestorm/Gloryhammer show, and I loved it~ The sound of the venue was excellent, I was able to get decent views despite the support pillars along the sides of the main area, the rum and cokes were well priced, and the place just has an overall good vibe. I'd love to come back for other strange bands that come by on tour and never make their way to Houston. A nice anecdote about the scene and staff: I made a grave mistake of excitedly following a drunk girl who kissed my cheek into a mosh pit and got tossed out (as one does) without my glasses. Oh well, thank god I had my sunglasses at my motel, whatever. I could watch the show via phone camera if I had to. I went on a little squinty scavenger hunt between staff members to try to find a plastic bag to clean up the remains of my glasses between sets, and all the staff were so kind, as were the crowd in general (heck, I lost my glasses in the first place because like 7 people tried to help me up immediately) Miraculously, I was chatting to a pirate at the bar and waiting to get more rum when staff told me someone had actually found my specs! They made it through a mosh pit with just a bent arm and a few scratches! Thank you, metalheads of Austin, I love y'all

This place is not efficient. Overcrowded and the security acts like top flight security of the world. They do not have the proper security in place to handle large crowds compared to it neighbor. Anyways, I hope they take it easy with people that are adults and just want to have a good time don't try to over poweer them with deep voices and aggressive stances.... also they close early which is a negative

The only thing positive I have to say about this place is that some of the staff and bartenders were super nice. Otherwise, this place might be decent for a small rock show, but that's about it. I went to see Daniel Caesar last night and they definitely overbooked the show. I guess that wouldn't be a problem if the stage configuration was good, but it sucks. The stage is way too low, and I spent most of the time on my toes just trying to see the performer's heads. Now I am not very tall by any means, but I'm not super short either. I felt really bad for all the people shorter than me. The only real view they got was from their phones, arms stretched high. I hate the "should have got there early" mentality too, if you pay money to see a show you should at least get to see it from any central location to the stage... Overall, the sound sucked too. It could have been a combo of bad engineering and poor sounds equipment, but it was not good. The bass was super boomy and the treble was muddled. I won't be coming back to a show here unless they do some work and raise the stage for everyone to see.

First time to see a show here and LOVED it. This has easily become one of my top venues. The multi-level layout is super helpful so you have great views from several spots as well as a place to just chill. The staff was super friendly and welcoming. I liked the bar areas as well. The entire design was great to be honest. The only exception is the floor area as it is quite narrow and basically becomes one huge mosh pit. Other venues you can still be close enough and avoid the pit if you'd like. The sound here, as long as you are facing the stage, is really great. It muffles a bit if you are off to the side which is expected. It felt really clean and I didn't feel like I needed to immediately shower after leaving a metal show as I usually do. The bathrooms were also clean which is not the norm for many venues I attend. They bring a ton of great bands here which is really awesome as well. CONS: Security was lacking. They didn't check bags or people. This makes me extremely nervous, especially living in Texas and people being able to carry here. I normally wouldn't have thought about it as much as last night BUT, the vocalist of one band thought it was a good idea to tell the 2nd level (balcony) to JUMP into the pit, which they DID. Not one person had any absorption to their fall, even though the crowd tried "catching" them. It was incredibly stupid and reckless. Now when you attend a show, watch for the pit, AND the morons raining from the sky to knock you out so you can break your neck. All I saw were lawsuits flying into their inboxes a mile a minute. I hope the security and venue will put measures in place so that this isn't a continued practice. If not, they better get ready to pay out and make plenty of wheelchair accessible seating front and center for those affected from someone landing on their head. It's not "metal" to be stupid. It's also not "metal" to piss off the wrong person because someone lands on them, and that person ends up being the one with a gun who goes trigger happy. Let's be smart so we can all continue to enjoy shows here. Other than that, loved this place and will return.

This place will add $35 to your tab, even if you close it! If you put a card on file, but then choose to close it by paying cash, they will tell you, "ok, you're good to go!" Then, you'll notice on your account the next day that there is a charge for $35, the amount charged for tabs left open. This has happened to many people. Don't let it happen to you.

I'm new to Austin, I came from Chicago after living there for 11 years. I'm a Metal chick who was big in the Metal scene doing both Photography and Promotions. I heard such great things from my musician friends about Come and Take It Live. I was so excited that my best friends were on tour and stopping at Come And Take It Live a week into my move here. I decided to check the place out. Frist off, there's lots of parking, something that is rare in Chicago. I liked how the venue was laid out. You walk in and pay for your tickets and the bar was to your right. It was a pretty nice sized bar. The venue was moderately sized. I don't know why I thought this place was going to be bigger. Summer Slaughter is going to be here next month and I have no clue how it's going to hold a show of that capacity. Then you go a few steps up and there's more standing and bands had their merch. Now my favorite was the outdoor patio. It's very communal. I had my mom with me but I feel like its a great place to meet people and be social. I had two drinks and I thought they were moderately priced. The crowd was very diverse. Barely 21 year old, some scene looking kids, die heart metalheads, old school metalheads, regularly dressed clientele. My bartender, forgot his name was super sweet once I started chatting him up. I will definitely be back. I am planning to go to a lot of shows. Love this venue so far!

RIPPED OFF. Went to a show here last night with a friend. We both opened tabs. He had 2 whiskey cokes, $8. I had a miller lite, 2 buds, and a shot of jager. The bartender told me they were all $4. I had the cash to pay for everything so I asked to close out the tabs for the both of us. The bartender said 'no problem' My tab was $22 after tip and I paid for my friend and tipped $3 for him. If you do the math, that's a total of $33 for the both us. My friend checked his statement this morning and he was charged $35. I checked my statement as well and was also charged $35. I can almost guarantee that this probably happens on a nightly basis since you wouldn't be able to tell you're out $35 since it's such a small number, unless you check your statement. If you want to be ripped off, this is your place.

Played a show here the other night and although the venue looks good and has good sound, the staff and service is lacking. Bartenders are not pleasant, and sound engineer decided to take a nap after we set up, leaving us with a bad mix. Drinks are overpriced and bands dont even receive a discount never mind free drinks.I won't be playing any shows here anytime soon.

Love this place!!! I didn't even know of a good metal venue when I went to U.T. years ago, but now there's Come and Take It Live! I've been to so many awesome shows here, and the staff is really great. The interior architecture is a bonus.

10 Years, From Ashes to New, Broken Valor January 23, 2018 Venue hit everything on my list I look for. Size was perfect! Stumbled on another small venue. Close, intimate feel with kick ass sound. It is located in the same complex as "Emo's" which is a venue I have always wanted to hit up. Next time. Parking was not an issue and free (at least for this show, unsure if this is normal). Easy entry into the venue. The decor is very nice with a Texas, Western, old time Saloon crossed with log cabins theme. Chopped wood logs lined perfectly around the inside in all sections, & pieces line the front of the bars, wood floor in some places & accents. 2 floors with full bars on both and an outdoor patio with tables to chill, smoke,etc. 2nd floor overlooks the stage area if you are at the rail. There are 2 pool tables upstairs. This is the "Jack Daniels Wing" -- a MUST SEE if you are a JD connissiour like myself. Awesomeness The staff at this place was stellar!! Very sweet bunch of guys there. They were fast, accurate, accommodating. All aspects of customer service -- check. Place does not close when show is over like most. Your evening can continue on until close. Small enough of a venue for the bands to hang out after for meets & drinks with everyone. They have their own merch! Snapbacks, koozies, t-shirts, shorts,to name a few. This venue is added to my short list of favorites. Will be watching their schedule; will travel to this place specifically to see one of my bands. Thank you for an awesome evening! Metal on!

If you love live music, you'll love this place! The layout is good with options for being on the floor in front of the stage, another level to look out onto the floor facing the stage and then another full story up with a big balcony viewing area and some seating with its own bar. Because it's not a cavernous concrete block, the sound is very good in this place. There is a richness to the sound that you just don't get in other clubs in town. The drink prices are good and the bartenders friendly and attentive. There is an outside patio area where you can take your drinks, if you aren't a smoker or don't enjoy a smokey patio, then you'll want to go back inside. There is a food truck there on site as well as a really good taqueria around the corner and down the sidewalk - in the same strip of buildings. Just like most other places parking can be a hassle. They do have their own big parking lot and there is some street parking, but come early to get a good spot. This place is also clean. The ladies' bathrooms are in good condition, which as you might know, in most rock clubs they are disgusting. There is always toilet paper and soap and again - it's clean! The owners care about this place and it shows. I've been here to see specific shows - Honky, Rockingham, King Parrot, Super Joint, the Texas Independence Day celebration - about 8 times in the past several months and each time I have a positive experience. Go - have fun!

Had drinks there prior to Chromatics show at Emo's. Surprisingly this was the highlight of my night. The A/C is cool and the drinks cold. I will be back in September for Black Flag.

5 stars! Staff is really nice! Had a great time here. If you like metal, rock, hardcore or anything music come here. Sound is amazing and staff is amazing. They took care of me and my wife. We will be back! -Logan

I went there for the first time and was there for about an hour ordered a beer for me and a cocktail for my girl and nothing else. I was given my card back and left as soon as we finished our two drinks was charged 35$ for the two drinks! They should call it the come and get ripped off bar. It is insane to think that a single beer is 15$ and one 4 ounce cocktail is 20$. And that doesn't include the cash tip I left. The bar and bartenders will rip you off and would not recommend this place to anyone? Gave it one star but doesn't even deserve that. Watch yourself if you go to this bar they will RIP YOU OFF. Very disappointed

First time to this venue to see sevendust - third time seeing them in austin. They draw a big crowd which made this venue challenging given the narrow space. It was hard to see unlike the other two venues which had wide spaces. That's my one complaint. Would love to see a more intimate concert here. Bartenders and staff were quick and friendly enough. Would go back!

Great venue. Bigger than I thought and fit a ton of people without being too crowded. Music was great. The sound engineer deserves a raise. Bar is pretty fair priced. I'm definitely looking forward to the next show I go to.

Of the convert venues I've been to, Come and Take it Live has shown the least respect for my time. If you're looking to experience the liveliness of a Frat party but trashier, look no further. Here you will be showered with poorly remixed songs for hours before the main artist even takes the stage. You could spend your night at home with the tv speaker on full volume to experience the same sensation.

Worst damn venue i've ever been to, if you're planning to see a rapper here that you wanna toke up for, don't. You'll get kicked out instantly, even for a lighter. 0/10. Awful

Not handicap friendly at all!!! Only one handicap spot. Venue is not ADA compliant. Management told me "This is a live music place, that's not really our crowd"! They also state service animals must be registered, which is in violation to the ADA Laws.

Saw krs1 here back September 2018, security seems good enough and the outside patio is nice. The sound was very good and plenty of space to cram in fans! Had a blast.

Great venue for any style of concert, plenty of different beer and liquor. Not a bad place to stand in the entire building. The bouncers are great and don't walk around with a huge ego like at some bars. The bartenders are johnny on the spot and consistent.

A pretty fun, local venue. Went to see a random metal show here with my friend when we were visiting Austin this past summer. Great selection of cheap beers and other drinks at the bar. Good acoustics, and the interior made me feel like I was at the Bang Bang Bar from Twin Peaks. Fun place to check out the local music scene.

Love this damned bar! Tons of variety with the shows and the staff is probably the best in Austin. These guys have done such a cool job renovating and redoing this bar from what it used to be. The pizza truck outside Hoeks Death Metal Pizza is also clutch for when you have been dancing the night away and need some sustenance.
