"Great Market Food Inside the Mercado 20 de Noviembre you'll find many food stalls to choose from. The Comedor Maria Teresa (Local #38) is a good bet. They have excellent mole, which you can enjoy with chicken and rice, or in enchiladas, as pictured above. A full Oaxacan breakfast starts with a chocolate de leche and pan de yema. The chocolate is served in a bowl to make it more convenient for dunking your bread. Later in the day choose a tlayuda or caldo de pollo. You really can't go wrong!"

Dishonest Pricing – Took Advantage of Me as a Foreigner I asked for four scrambled eggs with chorizo, and they charged me 160 pesos, claiming that their “huevos al gusto” (orig 80p) only includes two eggs and that adding two more meant doubling the price. But let’s be real—two extra eggs do not cost 80 pesos more. They took advantage of the fact that I’m a foreigner and don’t speak fluent Spanish. Nothing was communicated up front, and the price made no sense. It felt sneaky and exploitative. I wouldn’t come back here again. I came with openness and respect, and left feeling cheated. If you eat here, ask detailed questions and confirm everything beforehand.

I read all the hate reviews and I guess people just have very different experiences. I got a beer, and a plate with chicken wrapped in tortillas and two types of mole. To me it was so good, the plate was clean at the end. The price was also great, and the food came out quickly. Granted, you're not hearing from a mole expert right here, but it was the best so far this trip.

Positive and Negative reviews don’t make up the whole story. This place has good service, the food is great and the timing of the food was also good. I would recommend it to anyone to try it out. The hot chocolate with milk is also very delicious buy your bread at a bakery if you want it fresh.

Our server was stuffing food into her mouth while serving us with the other hand! 🤢 The kitchen lady was killing flies on the raw meat with a queso oaxaca and then using it in a cooked item. Caught all of this after we had finished our meals. DON'T EAT HERE.
