Our experienced with the “Comfort” brand was overall very unpleasant. ||||Firstly, we had a Gift Voucher to the value of $200.00 to use in Australia and New Zealand for food and wine, and accommodation. When I was trying to book online, there was nowhere to indicate Gift Voucher. So after many phone calls and emails over a few days with my query, I was told the voucher was invalid and expired, and I couldn’t use it. ||||The voucher clearly stated 5/12/2025. I couldn’t understand what their reasoning was, it didn’t make sense!!! After more phone calls and emails it was finally noted that the date was in American reversal style???? My question is: Why would a Gift Voucher be in American date style? When it was for use in Australia and NZ. If that was the case, did that mean that the $200.00 was in American dollars too…. I’m sure not so!!! Finally after delay, I was notified that I could use the voucher. Fantastic!!||||A few days later I had received an email offering upgrades. I chose a $30.00 bottle of sparkling wine as an upgrade, and received an email to say that it was “Approved”.||||My voucher was valued at $200.00 and the room cost was $150.00. This left $50.00 outstanding to me for food and wine. Having no other communication, other than being “Approved”, made me understand that the wine was covered in the outstanding $50.00 …. But not so. Upon “checkout” I was told that I owed $30.00 for the wine, so quite shocked and annoyed, I returned the bottle. ||||So $50.00 outstanding and $30.00 for the wine adds to $80.00 out of pocket!!!||||To add more injury, upon “Check in” at 2.00 pm, we were left standing and waiting in the foyer for 15 minutes, as our room wasn’t ready.||||So would I recommend your hotel … NO. Did the overall experience leave a nasty taste …YES.||||My advice to anyone would be … Don’t get a Gift Voucher from these people.
