Comfort Hotel Shin Yamaguchi

I stayed in a Double Economy Room on a room-only basis. The hotel was clean, the staff were helpful, and its location near Shin-Yamaguchi Station makes it convenient as a base for sightseeing or business trips. I particularly prioritize the following three points when staying room-only, and this time it was generally comfortable. ① Air Conditioning (Heating): While the heating/cooling system was centrally controlled throughout the building, allowing no switching between modes, individual temperature adjustment at the unit was possible, and the system worked effectively. ② Shower: Equipped with a thermostat (temperature control function), the hot water temperature was stable and easy to use. ③ Cleanliness: While there were some signs of wear and tear on the wallpaper, the cleaning was thorough and within acceptable limits. I would definitely consider staying here again if I have the opportunity to visit the Yamaguchi area.

Rooms were clean, check in was easy, breakfast was satisfactory. The info related to parking in the reviews is incorrect. The hotel does not have its own parking and you need to use pay parking close by the hotel. There are several options at different price levels, and the hotel recommends which one to use upon check-in but be advised that the parking lots begin to fill up as the day gets later so the later you arrive, the more you pay for parking, and hopefully all does not fill up. Overall, I would go back if I the area, it was a great price / value.

Conveniently located at the North exit of the Shin Yamaguchi station. There is no shelter from the Shinkansen but close to the bus terminal and has a few 7-11s close by. Several izakayas around the train station so quite a few food options. ||Hotel itself has a check in kiosk and check in only starts at 3pm. Luggage can be locked at lobby using a self number lock. Rooms are clean but compact. Even a double room felt small once luggage was opened. Toilets were clean. What was surprising was that the room only had one pillow, one towel and one hand towel if staying as solo traveller. Extra towel had to be asked for at the lobby. Hotel has complimentary breakfast which is fresh and of good selection.

My room was ok, but like most of Japan a little on the small side. Breakfast was okay but perhaps could have some more vegetarian options. Location was good for buses to Hagi, etc and both local trains for Yamaguchi, etc and the Shinkanshen lines.

It was a quick one night stay for us as we were visiting a Parkrun located relatively near by. The hotel was next to the train station which made travel extremely convenient for where we needed to be. It’s a beautiful little area and the hotel was ideal. Staff extremely helpful, room was clean, cosy and well looked after. If certainly stay again and it’s perfect for a one night stay!

I visited Shin-Yamaguchi after a few days in Fukuoka. The weather was still cold, and it rained a little. From the station, just cross the street, and you’ll arrive at the hotel. It’s about a three-minute walk if you have luggage. Next to the hotel, there’s a 7-Eleven and many izakayas.The manager greeted me warmly, and the staff were extremely friendly. They would greet guests as they walked in, making me feel very welcome. Welcome drinks and coffee are available until midnight—I loved their lemon water! You can also use the library/cafeteria for work or reading, which is quite convenient.Amenities are placed on the first floor next to the elevator. Breakfast tickets are available, with multiple time slots to choose from. The room size is big for the price. The bathroom is compact, but I had no issues enjoying a bath. The only inconvenience was the lack of a remote control to adjust the air-conditioner’s wind direction.There are two washing machines and two dryers on the fourth floor, both of which can be connected via an app. If you don’t have coins, you can pay through the app with a credit card, and it will show a timer for when your laundry is done. The washing machine is easy to use, but the dryer took a bit long. Ice is also available on this floor.There are no complimentary bottled waters in the room, so I often went down to the first floor for lemon water and coffee.Breakfast was more abundant than I expected. Since this is a chain hotel, I didn’t expect much, but I was pleasantly surprised by the selection. The menu seemed to change daily, and I really enjoyed having breakfast here. Definitely worth the price. If I visit Yamaguchi again, I would definitely book this hotel!

Affordable hotel so didn't expect too much. Location is convenient to Shin Yamaguchi Station but not so much around as would be around Yamaguchi Station. Room was a little cramped because of lack of under bed storage space. Climate control is one mode only and set to AC which is fine during the day but at night gets a little cold and the biggest problem I had was the window was so drafty. Seemed to be no seal and a cool breeze wafts in all night. I requested a blanket which they gave me but the 2nd night was worse, it was 43 F degrees outside and the draft was really cold. If I was on the bed I could hear the voices of people outside, faint but clear, as if the window wasn't even there. I could even occasionally smell the food from the nearby izakayas. I tried opening and closing the window a few times but no luck. Very uncomfortable night. Breakfast was included, was pretty small which is fine at this price but missing natto seemed strange. All the staff were nice though.

Just as the comment mentioned, the location is good. 1 minute from Shin-Yamaguchi station north exit. However I’ll not recommend to female guests because we need to prepare all the amenities by ourselves, especially shower cap and cotton pad. I bought some from 7-11 near by and think next time I’ll try the other hotel with these amenities.
