Comfort Hotel Square in Stavanger – A Decent Stay with Room for Improvement The reception is located just inside the main entrance, and I was greeted by a cheerful young man with a warm smile. He was polite, kind, and happily answered all my questions. The hotel aims for a funky vibe, and to some extent, it succeeds. I stayed in a room on the third floor, facing the street. There was no noise from outside, but I did hear quite a bit from the room above. The room itself was spacious enough, tidy enough, and the bed was comfortable. However, the hotel could benefit from some long-overdue updates. In the morning, it was refreshing to take a lovely shower with clean, warm water—great water pressure and temperature. For breakfast, it’s wise to head down before 8:00 AM, as the dining area isn’t very large and seating can be hard to find. That’s a good indication that the hotel is quite busy even on a regular weekday. The breakfast selection was more limited than I’m used to, but the food tasted good, smelled fresh, and it was nice to enjoy a cup of coffee. While the variety could be improved, I want to emphasize that what was offered tasted good. The reception area offers a decent space to relax in the evening if your room feels a bit cramped. I’d recommend this hotel for solo travelers or couples—not ideal for families.

This place just isn’t for me. The hotel is trying so hard to be cool and trendy, but it’s built with super cheap materials and covered in flashy lights to make it look “exclusive.” The reality is… it’s not. Especially for the price — it’s way too expensive for what you actually get. Things are falling apart — I couldn’t even turn off the light in my room properly, and the toilet lid was loose. When we asked them to fix it, they actually broke it completely. Breakfast was honestly really sad. Hardly any options, and what they had felt cheap. Even the plates, glasses, and cutlery were tiny — like they want you to eat less. The breakfast staff was rude too. Some kids wanted to go for a second round, and they were told no. Seriously? Check-in is all self-service, and if you want a late check-out, you have to pay extra 🙄. There was one uncomfortable wooden chair in the room, so basically, you have to sit in the lobby if you want to relax. The bed was old and saggy — I kept sliding into the middle all night. The only good thing is the location, but there are plenty of other hotels around. For this price, I’d definitely choose somewhere else next time.

Very welcoming at a late check in, food was available from the deli and a drink from the barception. I had messaged to say I have mobility issues and they kindly gave me a room with a wet wetroom bathroom and a toilet with handles. The bathroom also had underfloor heating so the floor was never wet for long. Comfortable bed and extra pillows when I asked. Hotel is in a great location, and has a decent selection for breakfast buffet. Brilliant, friendly staff at reception throughout.

The location of this hotel is quite close to the harbour side, 6-7min walk, good breakfast and good staff! The rooms are to the standard that you’re paying for. I would prefer a small refrigerator in the room but not this room.|It’s close to different shops and a lot of restaurants! Enjoy ! 😉👍

Rooms are small but decent. Breakfast is good. Location is wonderful with restaurants, shops, railway station close to hotel. Nearby Cruise terminal is a wonderful place for walking and having multiple restaurants giving good vibes.

Easy location for the port and shops. Very nice clean hotel with friendly staff, we didn’t use the bar because the other bars where close by, extremely easy to grab a scooter and get around. Hotel was clean and very new, breakfast was extensive and very popular. They catered for everyone very well

I stayed here for two nights before moving to the Radisson, which was a much better choice. Comfort Hotel Square feels more like a hostel than a hotel. The decor is uninviting, with ghastly walls, and the beds were extremely uncomfortable.

The hotel is very worn down and the cleaning in the rooms was half assed. Looked like no one had vacuumed under the bed for years. Also felt a little off that you had to pay for parking.||Breakfast good though.

Yelp
I keep it simple if you like it a bit dirty and risky living this hotel is for you if you like it clean and not gamble when it comes to food safety then keep as far away from this hotel as you can. 3 out of 5 days the eggs and sausages and all other hot food were cold as can be and slowly heated on a heating plate where it stood all breakfast but not to any higher temperature so we ended up buying and eating breakfast in another hotel just to be on the safe side not to get food poisoning. A friend had to change room as her first room smelled like a garbage dump since the hotel openly says they only clean every 4 days. The hotel was generally dirty and filthy and service was poor. The bar fridge was broken for a few days and when it was fixed later during the week we asked for a coke zero they had no cold ones and the very next day there was still no one in the fridge even if asked the night before so the personally are lazy and far from service minded and even if you complain about the cold breakfast they don't know how to fix it or what to do except one blond highly energetic girl working during breakfast who was the most service minded person at the hotel that also spoke clearly Norwegian and English.

Yelp
Modern, trendy and centric. A perfect place to stay if you are young, cool or hipster (...or just want to stay within walking distanc to the town center) . Foodstory is in the same building and decorations of local artist Anette Moi on the outside. What's not to love?

Yelp
This hotel is nicely located just a little outside of city center in Stavanger. We found it easy to get here from city center, from the ferries at the harbor and from the bus terminal, less than a 10 minute walk to each of those spots. The service at the hotel was great. Everyone was very helpful, friendly and gave good recommendations. It seems to be a "cool" and "trendy" hotel, with breakfast going until noon and modern art throughout the hotel and in the rooms. We loved the rooms, mirrors were everywhere to make it look bigger, and there was a sliding mirror/glass window from the bathroom to the room, which was a fun feature. The Breakfast that was included and was filling, with hot and cold foods- cold cuts, smoked salmon, omelet, cucumbers, tomatoes, fruit, bread, eggs with bacon, soft and hard boiled eggs, cereal, yogurt and the list goes on and on. You also get free coffee throughout the day. Also, there is free WiFi in your room with a code. Overall we had a fantastic stay at comfort hotel and would come back again.
