The staff were very friendly and willing to help me by answering my questions and concerns quickly. The breakfast area was clean and the waiter was quick to help me figuring out how to use some of the equipment. The room was comfortable and clean. I really liked the patio door for getting to the parking lot to enter my vehicle. I will more than likely stay here again when time permits.

Service was very friendly and quick, when I called to book my reservation, I requested a room away from the first floor, I did not want a door accessible to outside, the accommodation was not met. My room smelled like cigarettes, I asked the front desk to come check, they said they did not smell anything, however the smell kept me up tossing and turning all night. I checked their reviews and other found the rooms smell like cigarettes as well. They take a 200$ damage deposit, however I feel I should get a deposit from them to clean all my belongings. In addition, the toilet doesn't flush well, and the shower has no water pressure. The complimentary breakfast was actually good.

The staff are friendly. The room was available before check-in time and was clean and comfortable. Breakfast is typical complimentary hotel breakfast, no unpleasant surprises. The breakfast attendant did not greet us when we arrived for breakfast. She could have smiled and said good morning and offered her assistance if we needed it.

The hotel was very clean and modern with lots of amenities. It’s very hand to be able to park your car right outside your room and use the sliding door. High speed internet worked very well. The Breakfast area had lots of tables and was well staffed with a nice selection of food. Front desk staff was courteous, knowledgeable, and professional. Highly Recommended!

Terrible Experience — Do NOT Stay Here, Especially for Weddings! They give false promises. We booked with Comfort Inn Guelph a year in advance as part of our wedding preparations, thinking it would make things easier for us and our guests. Unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the biggest headaches right before our special day. Despite booking early and arriving first, we were made to wait over an hour to check in while other guests who came after us were helped first. The staff showed no sense of urgency or customer care, and when we asked for help, they simply said they were “busy because of a wedding.” Ironically, that wedding was ours! They were busy because of our own guests, yet treated us as an inconvenience. To make things worse, we were promised a complimentary night months ago as part of our wedding booking — and now, just one night before our wedding, they decided to take that away without any proper explanation or apology. This level of unprofessionalism and lack of empathy is unacceptable. We trusted this hotel for one of the most important weekends of our lives, and they completely failed us. If you’re planning a wedding or any special event in Guelph, please avoid Comfort Inn Guelph at all costs. Their poor communication, broken promises, and total disregard for guests’ time and experience made an already stressful time even worse. Save yourself the stress — this hotel does not care about its customers.

This hotel is filthy. Manager named Carol is very rude. Spends his time chasing kids around harassing them. He should maybe spend more time focusing on the cleanliness of the hotel. Smells absolutely disgusting and looks about the same. Bugs in the bathroom and dirty sheets on beds. DO NOT stay here.

If I could give 0 stars, I would! Worst hotel experience ever, especially on our wedding day! We chose Comfort Inn Guelph for our wedding weekend because of the exceptional service we received from Eunice (previous supervisor) when we booked several months in advance. She promised us a complimentary room upgrade and a late checkout as a wedding courtesy, especially since we had a large group of family and friends who booked using our wedding block. Unfortunately, once she went on maternity leave, the current team completely ignored those arrangements. No one bothered to meet us halfway or even offer a simple apology. The front desk staff, Devonch and J, showed absolutely no customer service skills. We were the first in line, yet they had us wait for almost two hours while they helped everyone else instead of assisting us first. I work in People and Culture, so I fully understand how important it is to make people feel heard, valued, and respected, that’s the foundation of good service and leadership. But there was none of that here. Instead, their attitude was dismissive, unprofessional, and completely lacking empathy. At one point, J even called Alice to ask what to do about our situation, but Alice also offered no resolution whatsoever - no apology, no effort to meet halfway, and no attempt to make things right. To make things worse, J said they couldn’t promise to accommodate a late checkout because there was a wedding that weekend. After about an hour, he realized the “wedding” he was referring to was actually our wedding - the reason they were busy was because of our own guests who booked through our wedding block! Tssssk! That just shows how disorganized and disconnected their staff are. We weren’t the only ones who had issues. One of our friends who flew all the way from Alberta was promised by staff that they could check in at 1 AM and would only be charged for one night. They even called to confirm this twice. But when they arrived, they were charged for two nights, and the front desk agent (either Kunal or Kumal) completely deflected responsibility, blaming other staff instead of finding a solution or offering any compensation. Another friend was almost double-charged for their room. The staff insisted the payment was declined even though it had already gone through. My friend even showed proof from their online banking! Still, the front desk argued and tried to charge them again. Very sneaky and unprofessional. Yet another wedding guest’s room smelled terrible, and the bed was uncomfortable. They asked for a room change and were told someone would assist them, but no one showed up for two hours. They had to call again just to be helped. On the morning of the wedding, we asked the front desk politely if we could borrow a table for the hair and makeup team. Instead of trying to help or even responding professionally, the front desk chuckled and said, “What? We don’t have that.” No effort to problem-solve or offer an alternative, just pure incompetence. For a hospitality business, that kind of behaviour is completely unacceptable. Everything about our wedding was perfect - the venue, catering, photography, and guests except for this hotel. The experience here was the biggest regret of the entire weekend. Eunice truly set the bar high with her kindness, professionalism, and willingness to help, but the current staff are the complete opposite - incompetent, unempathetic, and completely lacking communication and customer service skills. I read the reviews after our stay, and now I understand why so many guests have complained. I wish I had checked earlier because I would have booked somewhere else. This was my first and last time staying at Comfort Inn Guelph, and I will be telling all our friends, family, and wedding vendors to avoid this location at all costs. If management truly wants to improve, they need to start by training their staff on communication, empathy, and accountability - the bare minimum for a customer-facing role. Until then, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND AVOIDING THIS HOTEL if you want a stress-free and professional experience.

Morning if you're looking at checking into this hotel make sure that you know that there's water issues there with the hot water as I got there last night and it was freezing cold on top of it I ended up had to move rooms. Yelp
If considering this hotel for a team booking, please reconsider! Management is not professional and has antiquated policies that are not to be trusted. Reviews all have similar theme of over charging and extra fees. Am appalled that tournaments would actually recommend this hotel to its participants.

Yelp
The hallways had kids playing ball like they owned the place. Around 10PM, our neighbor on the side of our headboard started playing music that we could hear as if their radio was right under our bed. At 1AM thumping BASS coming from the room across us woke us up and there was no answer at the front desk. When I walked down to the lobby, the attendant came up and dismissed it saying it wasn't that bad. If it woke me up, it was enough to be "that bad". There was a shady guy talking on his cell phone in the stairwell nearly all night. There were people using the laundromat all night. The overall feel of the place gave me the impression of a "bad neighbodhood". I didn't feel safe there, so we left at 2:30am to drive home, 5 hours away.

Yelp
My fiancé and I were in the comfort inn for 2 days, as our beloved dog is undergoing serious life threatening illnesses, and on a respirator. The rooms we stayed in were excellent ( first night a single queen room, the second a double queen room). We received excellent customer service with every single person we talked with. Especially the receptionist John. He was so accommodating, and extremely sympathetic for our situation. He was extremely professional, and friendly. John even said when our girl comes home, to bring her by. There was another lady, who we did not get the name of, that we spoke with as we were checking out, who gave us such kind words to support us. We will be going back whenever we stay in Guelph. An amazing experience overall. Would absolutely recommend:)

Yelp
Situated on the outskirts of Guelph The Comfort Inn hotel has a mixture of king, queen and twin rooms. They also offer a free breakfast which includes a range of foods such as bacon, sausage and eggs, cereal, toast and coffee, tea and fruit juices. I shared a twin room with a friend. The room was although it could do with a little renovating. The downside was that it stank of smoke everywhere, which permeated into our room. This is because some of the rooms are smoking. The room also felt a little damp. If they made the hotel non smoking and it didn't stink, I would say this is worth a vote of 3 stars. As it is it's only worth 2.

Yelp
Stayed here for business and was really surprised by how nice it was. Sure the hallways look old but the room was fine and the breakfast was nice. I would stay here again if I am ever in town for business. My only complaint was the hockey team and the parents who were drinking and being loud.
