Stayed for two nights. The rooms are small holiday style bungalows. Each has its own parking space. Lovely view to the front of the River Tamar. Kettle/cuttlery/plates in the room. WiFi was good. The actual hotel has a public bar and restaurant. The restaurant is a MUST visit. The food was lovely and plentiful and very reasonable prices. Staff were friendly and informative. The hotel is situated just off the Main Street and very close to shops and restaurants, and alongside the waterfront. Main supermarket is just a two minute walk away. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends and family.

Stayed here for one night on our Tassie trip, George Town itself has limited accommodation but is well worth the visit, great history and scenery, it was very windy when we were there which limited our sight seeing but the museums were definitely worst visiting.| The Comfort Inn met our needs, lovely spacious and clean room. Comfortable bed and good shower, what more is need. No breakfast sadly but there is a great bakery in town, the cafe was closed the day we were there!

Great location, staff were great, food was of the highest quality, room was a good size with waterfront views. Could not fault the food, staff and amenities. Only negative - no early check in when rooms were clearly ready - we travelled overnight on the Spirit of Tasmania and a check in around noon would have been very much appreciated We had a large number of family and friends that travelled from the mainland, many stayed and ate at the Inn and we booked a function for thirty or so people - an early check in would have been greatly appreciated by many - after all, in George Town, there is not a lot to keep you occupied while waiting to check in. Out of 10 - 9.5

There was a note stating that guests are responsible for cleaning the cutlery, cups, and plates, which I understand may be part of the policy. However, the items in our room were already dirty on arrival, which suggests they hadn’t been checked between guests. I ended up cleaning them myself to avoid any potential charges, but from a hygiene perspective, this really shouldn’t be left to guests — not everyone will clean properly. It honestly made the room feel a bit gross from the start, which set a negative tone for the stay

The morning we had to check out there was zero hot water. There is evidently nobody to contact either. Called every number in the book, no joy. Tried calling/texting the number that sent us the check-in details and it was turned off! Check in was a joke. We got there about 14:30 and reception was abandoned. Heating in the room is by one ancient and noisy fan heater. It is utterly inadequate for the task. The rooms are not well insulated and cold wind flows freely around the entry door. The TV in the bedroom was missing the antenna cable and remote. They supplied these, eventually, but it was the wrong remote. Everything in the kitchen required cleaning before use. One spoon had what looked like dry shit on it. The glasses hadn't been washed in a very long time. The floors were not well cleaned, I think you actually have to plug a vacuum cleaner in. The rooms have poor sound insulation. The ones next to us had tradies in them who woke us up several times late at night and again very early in the morning. We were in the upstairs rooms. Everything is tired. The curtains are coming off the rails, the tiles are falling off the walls, the kitchen floor tiles appear to have never been cleaned. There's nowhere to put your suitcases either.

We arrived about 15 minutes early for check in. Even though the room was ready the woman was not going to allow us in early. By the time we took the car outside the room it was 1:50 pm, check in is 2 pm. We walked down the street for the 10 minutes and then came back for the room and was allowed in the room. We dined in the Hotel that night and the Roast Pork was the worse I have had in a long time. They asked did I want sauce, and I said no, not realising that included gravy. The meat was visibly dry and had cysts though the top layer of meat.

It’s a great location and is reasonably priced . However, the lack of cleaning of the room was a downside. It wasn’t vacuumed at all during the week I was there nor were the hard surfaces wiped down.

Comfortable units, great views, very accessible to the town centre; great food at attached hotel and very good service from very friendly young and respectful staff.

Yelp
Great food, lovely location and pleasant atmosphere. Lady in the restaurant wasn't very friendly, however the bar man was very welcoming.
