Comis Ice Cafè

This is a lovely spot to enjoy a glass of wine and some delicious food while basking in the sun. The relaxed atmosphere and sunny setting make it a perfect place to unwind. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, adding to the overall pleasant experience. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick drink or a leisurely meal, this place is definitely worth a visit!

Checked out Comis Ice Cafè for their desserts. They had 15 gelato, 8 granita and 6 sorbetto flavours. Service was great. Go inside to pay when you’re done. This was the ONLY place with no coperto charge. - 2x Granita (3,50€) - mango and limone, pistacchio and mandorla. Pistacchio was the best of the four flavours. Mango and lemon were solid (very fruity, refreshing). Almond had a touch of artificial note to it

We have gone each day for breakfast. Coffee, brioche on our first day with granite. The next day, coffee croissants. Tonight apertivo and Gelato. Staff is wonderful. Personally, I love the place, quiet square always, and happy staff with lots of different faces coming through. I am neurodivergent and this place tics all my boxes for safe, not overwhelmed with stimuli, and just a great vibe. Thanks guys, you really are making us love Catania and your great atmosphere.

This was my second visit to this café, located next to the beautiful Teatro Massimo Bellini. I had almond, pistachio, and chocolate granita served with brioche—it was absolutely delicious! I was served by a young man named Carmelo (Melo), who was very friendly and sweet. His English was excellent, and he was attentive throughout. Thank you for the wonderful service! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Excellent vegan ice cream/gelato including roasted Sicilian almond, and they even have vegan brioche which tastes like it has a slight orange hint to it. The vegan ice cream sandwich was so good I had to make a special visit back into Catania before going to the airport.

What a gem! Exceptional pistachio ice dream!🤩we stumbled accidentally into this place - and fall in love with it! ❤️ great service, great food, reasonable prices and a cozy location hidden away from the tourist streams! We got our breakfast here every morning before heading into the catanian action and chaos! Absolutley secret tipp - must visit in catania - and take the pistachio ice creams (a mix of all) and a brioche aside - you will love it

We were walking around on a Saturday, around 3 o’clock and almost nothing was open to eat. Until we stumbled on this corner cafe/restaurant/ice cream shop. Perfect service, both waiters spoke english and were extremely nice. Both the salad and focaccia were spot on; I’d go back just to try again. And the ice cream is good too. Ps. The photos do not do it justice. Just go in and try the food!

Best pistachio ice cream ever! The brioche ice cream was also pretty good. Exceptional service, reasonable prices, great location on a lovely piazza with a fountain.

Great little place for gelato or granita, with friendly service in the middle of a piazza. I have been here quite a few times now. It is a bit touristy but you can't beat the beautiful views and friendly staff here. The lunch is rather good too, as they have a good selection of small plates like arancino, salads and panini. Definitely stop in if you're hungry while you're walking by and need a snack.

Service sweet like their treats! Before I even arrived to Sicily my husband had been telling me about his favorite gelateria in Catania. We finally made it! Tucked away thru a walking area in front of a fountain on the piazza in front of the amazing teatro this gelateria was worth the walk. Since it was a chilly night (as they all are in winter) I opted for a hot chocolate and one of the bambino's had a gelato so I was able to sample and yes it was yummy and creamy and full of lemony flavor! The Hot Chocolate was thick, oowee and goowee and sweet and creamy like a warm cup of hot chocolate pudding. Where's the churro? Delicioso! Yummy I wish I could share!! I will be running back! Don't miss it!

Comis is one of those certainties in life: like that spring follows winter, that the stars show up at night, that the earth revolves around the sun, that eventually we're all gonna die. If you stop at Comis, you will have fantastic ice cream. I'm addicted to ice-cream in an almost pathological form, and I have tried millions. This is the best. I also very much appreciate their inventiveness in proposing new flavours all the time. I was very impressed by setteveli al pistacchio: that is a medley of pistachio and almond ice cream, with bits of sponge cake and pistachio-marzipan. Moved by the sensory experience, I went back and begged for more.

Very good location and space. The waiters are very nice and competent. The service was very quick and simple in addition to the food being delicious. Absolutely recomend coming here

Decent enough ice cream, but not as good as its hype. Lovely location though, with a nice view over the fountain square.
