Commodore Hotel Gyeongju

We were lucky that we had this hotel booked as a tour so the location, being quite a distance from the train station, wasn't a problem for us. The hotel had a big bed, big room and we slept well. The breakfast was good, rather than excellent. We could find enough to eat but it wasn't the best selection on our travels around Korea. ||Staff were efficient and check in was easy. The rooms were hot and it wasn't easy to do anything about that. ||Gardens look lovely and would be especially nice in the summer. There is a couple of nice pools, not available in the winter. One thing which would be nice is some simple bath robes but they have all the other things you'd expect in a room for a comfortable stay.

The hotel room was horribly hot, with no help from Management. Apparently, the hotel is on central heating and individual rooms have no control over the temperature. Each air conditioning unit in the rooms has been turned off. I do not recommend this hotel at all. A hot, uncomfortable room will affect your sleep and how well you function the next day. Never again.

The breakfast is good. The staff was well mannered and well behaved. Overall it is a good place to stay when traveling alone or with friends.

Long kew at breakfast makes stay a bad experience. Too large numbers of guests steals our time and attention, and makes the stay a two star rating.

This hotel is in an area with more hotels, amusement parks and restaurants. Looks like it is quite popular for conferences. APEC2025 will appearently take place here. The rooms are spacious, large beds. The A/C is good, takes a while to reach the set temperature (minimum is 21 celsius btw). Breakfast is good. First hotel in Korea which offered french toast and maple syrup. Fruit options include oranges and banana's. Across the street is a McDonalds, Korean BBQ place and a good Bulgogi restaurant. For the outdoor swimming pool they charge 16K Won, swimming cap is mandatory (included in the price).

I wanted to not enjoy this large unimpressive looking hotel, however the opposite happened. We had a large room with a superb view of the lake, with a queen and a single bed. It's a long way from the city centre but a bus or taxi is inexpensive. We ate at the hotel restaurant (al-a-cart). Surprisingly the food was superb and I highly recommend eating in at night to save searching around. Staff are not so good with English but we coped. Sure the room is a little shabby and tired looking but everything functioned. I would worry if it was hot weather as there is no cooling and it can be very stuffy on a mild day but you can open a window at least. There are convenience stores close by. We ate out and had a brilliant lunch at a traditional Korean restaurant which I'd struggle to find again. In the end we loved our stay at the Commodore despite the dreary weather (early April) and enjoyed our time in Gyeongju.

Truly enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The staff were very friendly, helpful and the stay is comfortable and pleasant. The room is very spacious and very clean. Baggage storage is available as the hotel as well. Hotel is well situated near HICO which is really convenient to get to the convention center.

It was a good stay. Normal as usual. Nothing so fancy in my opinion.
