Common Grounds Pai

This hostel is fantastic! It’s incredibly social, with a great indoor-outdoor common area that exudes a cozy vibe. There are hammocks, floor tables, dining tables, and sofas to relax on. The bar/cafe also serves decent drinks. I was able to rent a scooter here without any trouble. I stayed in a four-person mixed ensuite dorm, which was super spacious and had a central sofa. This made it easy to organize my belongings. During my stay, the hostel hosted a BBQ night, which was lovely. I also met some great people here.

Returned after 10 years and it's just as good if not better. We had a private room which ended up being a 2-story apartment, slept very well. Loads of activities every day or night if you want to join in but also easy to meet people in the bar. Pool table. Really central behind food market but quiet at night. Great decor. Sweet little dog called Bo-Bo. Extended an extra 3 nights. Mostly importantly wonderful staff, particularly Violet, Jeen both the other receptionists, both bar staff and the cleaning staff - in fact everyone working there made you feel safe, looked after and was a good laugh. We ended up in a bar with them all on our last night which rounded off an amazing trip nicely. Will be back again, hopefully not another 10 years this time! Abi & Andrew x

this is literally my favorite hostel i have stayed at it in my 2.5 months of traveling through southeast asia. violet and tai are absolutely gems of human beings and do such a stellar job of fostering an environment that is open and friendly and inviting for everyone. i only planned to stay here for two nights but ended up extending for like a week. the facilities are good and clean and the shared dorms are pretty spacious compared to the average hostel. the common area is super cozy and the drinks at the bar are well priced as well. a perfect social hostel if what you’re looking for is a place to meet friends in a place that is a bit more laid back than the party hostels. and the daily events are great and give you lots of opportunities to see the surrounding scenic spots of pai

I have stayed in about 80 hostels, this comes in at number one. Violet is a legend who will properly look after you and show you hidden games and Zeen and Tai at reception make you feel so welcome. So many activities available including games nights and visits to canyons, waterfalls, caves and even free walking food tours. Amazing location and amazing food market just down the road. Hammocks, pool table, dart board and amazing dog Bobo. Will be returning for sure. Highly recommend.

A brilliant hostel with the perfect balance of social whilst also being very chill. You couldn’t ask for a better location- it’s right on the walking street, and the bathrooms, rooms, and common area were always immaculate. Staff were great and they offer day tours to some of the main attractions in Pai. Would stay here again for sure!

Stayed in a few different hostels around Pai and this one is really special. Great staff, clean and comfortable rooms, good showers and an excellent common area. They are well wired into the social scene and the activities are fun and accessible. They are also very conveniently located, in the centre of town but still quiet and peaceful.

The hostel has a very relaxed vibe and a large social area that makes it easy to meet other travelers. The rooms are very clean, the beds are comfortable, and the bathrooms are outside the rooms (which I personally love). The staff is very attentive—Violet made our stay especially fun. We joined her for the family dinner, where we met other travelers and enjoyed delicious food, and her trivia nights are also a lot of fun. The hostel’s location is fantastic, just a 1-minute walk from the Walking Street and the bus station.

one of my favourite hostels i’ve stayed in! good bunk beds with curtains, plenty of bathrooms, and the common area is a great place to hang out. they also have daily events!
