I really loved my time at common grounds hostel and I was really sad that I had to leave. It has a great social area with many options for chilling out, its social but also really chill and the location is perfect, next to the walking street. The volunteers, especially Violet is such a nice person and makes you feel like home. I met so many lovely people there and really wished that I could have stayed there longer.

I was at the hostel for 3 nights in late February and had an overall positive stay. Nothing about the hostel was outstanding, but similarly nothing was below average. A very relaxed vibe with a cool social area and reasonably clean dorms and washrooms. Helpful, friendly staff that will mostly allow you to do your own thing and a very good location just off of walking street. Would recommend relative to the other hostels that I heard about in the city, especially if you'll be spending most of your time out and about.

lovely, friendly vibes all round from staff and guests. private room was great and spacious and a fun common area to chill or play games/pool table. great location also. moped hire through the hostel is cheap and so easy! only negative is that the bed was quite hard. really enjoyed staying here.

Great location for the hostel and a good vibe, social with a good communal area. Natasa and Scott were amazing and made my trip to Pai. Feeling welcomed and brining people together, they organised trips throughout the day and ensured that everyone had something to do without being left out. The only downside was that it started off my SEA trip with extremely high expectations that was hard to beat. Really enjoyed my stay here and highly recommend it.

An absolute gem of a hostel, perfectly located right behind Walking Street and next to the Pai bus station. I stayed in a four-bed dorm with an en-suite bathroom, which was cleaned daily. The hostel also does a deep cleaning of all dorms every Friday and Saturday—cleanliness is something they take very seriously! In the mornings, free coffee and tea are provided, along with a water refill station for guests. There's also an on-site bar where you can purchase drinks. The hostel organizes daily activities led by volunteers, such as trips to Pai Canyon and the Bamboo Bridge—you just need to cover the transportation fee. Each dorm room has lockers, but they aren’t very spacious—you won’t be able to fit an entire backpack inside. I just stored my valuables in the locker and kept my bag elsewhere. Be sure to bring your own lock. The beds are incredibly comfortable, with cozy blankets and pillows. There’s a spotlight and a small shelf next to each bed, which is a nice touch. However, if you’re assigned the bottom bunk near the doorway, be aware that there’s no curtain covering the width of the bed, leaving you completely exposed. I ended up using my towel as a makeshift curtain. It would be great if they added a smaller curtain for more privacy. Upon check-in, a 200-baht deposit is required (cash only). Towels are available for rent at the counter, while soap and shampoo are provided in the bathrooms. The hot water pressure isn’t the strongest, but it gets the job done. The only downside is that common areas close at 10 PM due to the hostel's proximity to a temple and a school. The space is literally netted off, and guests are not allowed to linger. Also, the reception opens at 9 AM, so if you have an early departure, be sure to collect your deposit and return your room key the night before. Overall, the hostel has an amazing community vibe that made my time in Pai truly memorable. I would definitely return! P.S. if you're looking to do tipsy tubing while you're at Pai, you can also book it through the hostel!

Common grounds was a nice experience overall, friendly staff, violet was helpful in every way and a cool person to hang around with. The hostel is beside the walking street and is equally close to two 7-11s. Only downside is the pillows are a bit hard and the common area is closed at 10

Was supposed to stay here for 3 days. Ended up staying for 12. Pai is super chill and beautiful, and staying in CG made it all that better. Activities every day and all the staff are super kind and helpful. Hom and Bua were awesome too! Their BBQ is crazy

Very nice, chill hostel right by the walking street. Social but not party. Easy to book activities and bikes from here. Privates rooms are so nice.
