Common Man Coffee Roasters - Joo Chiat Road

Come by here every once in a while as it's close by to where I live. Service is always exceptional and genuine, be it with the day team or the evening team. They recently did a makeover for the dinner menu with some classic favourites remaining like the Smash Burger and the Fried Chicken. Decided to try the Mala Pulled Beef Pizza, the Burrata with Tomatoes served with Sourdough bread on the side, and the Wagyu Beef Bulgogi Rice served with chilli oil on the side. The pizza was yumm and chockful of favours with the beef well seasoned and mixed with chopped jalapeños I think...my only gripe - it didn't feel like pulled beef but rather chopped beef bits? The burrata with sourdough and tomatoes would have been perfect if not for that dollop of hae bee which overwhelmed the entire dish. Felt like "trying too hard" to make it different but hae bee just felt out-of-place. My gripe is with the Bulgogi rice ...aiyo...the beef was not seasoned properly and it wasn't cut nicely too (too chunky and you can feel the sinews), the scrambled egg was overdone and the pickled pineapple tasted off...sorry...not something I would order again. Come here for Happy Hours to make it worth your while.

Love this place, comes with air conditioned indoor and outdoor seating. Love their different chair arrangements which allow for work and leisure meetups. Music is nice and staff are friendly. Croissant was crispy and came with either blueberry or strawberry jam to go with butter.

Went on a public holiday. Waited for quite a while as there was a large group before us. But they kept us engaged and showed eagerness in getting us our seats. A rare place to still serve free water. Deco was nicely done. Food was good, coffee was great. Definitely can revisit but will not wait this long again.

Only good things to say about this cafe! Had the best pancake ever early in the year and back again few days ago just for that - she did not disappoint. Fluffy, just the right amount of sweet and eggs were perfectly scrambled. It was all simply so GOOD. Coffee was also tres bien. Cafe is breezy with that cozy, chill out atmosphere, yet clean and tidy. Staffs were all friendly with great service. Overall a fab brunch/ lunch/ food spot!

This place has been on my cafe list for quite some time now, and I finally had a chance to try it out today. The atmosphere and vibe was nice, I must say, the cafe is very well designed. Food was alright. It's like paying a decent amount of money expecting to get back good food, and the food is good (alright) Had the Ox cheek Eggs Benedict, one egg was runny and the other was hard boiled don't really know what happened there. But it was good though, I really liked the meat. Their seasonal matcha was alright, could be stronger for my liking though. Coffee was strong and to my liking though! Also tried their Breakfast pancakes, if you're a fan of those you should definitely get it as, the maple syrup is different & compliments the pancakes really well! Nice and fluffy! Quite filling though, after awhile As for the service, I understand it was a little crowded, however I felt like I was being blatantly ignored most of the time. Being right under their nose and they just walk past me, ignoring my all my calls for them a little "give me a moment" could've been nice. But then again, like I said it was a little crowded (little). I reckon the service really spoiled, what could’ve been an average good meal. Overall not bad, but it could be improved, a solid 2.9/5. (Anything about 2.5 is good) I tried their breakfast menu only, maybe their lunch menu’s better 🤷‍♀️

Visit: Sunday Brunch Dish: Breakfast Pancakes, Full Breakfast Seat: Al fresco / Outside The place was pretty packed, but the staff still managed to be attentive. 👌🏻 The "breakfast pancakes" got a lot of hype but honestly didn’t live up to it. The "full breakfast" was well-balanced, though. That said, the price points for both dishes felt a bit steep for what we got. The outdoor seating can get quite hot around noon, and might have some insects buzzing around your food while eating.

Lovely corner location in an historic building. Great breakfast time vibe with chill atmosphere and music. Very clean, modern place including the bathrooms. Flat white was perfect, filtered water provided at every table. After the full breakfast I really was full! Very efficient, professional service. A fantastic place to enjoy a leisurely coffee and breakfast. Highly recommended.

Loved the Mixed Berry French Toast – fluffy, fruity and just perfect! Hubby enjoyed the Salted Caramel Pancakes. Great coffee & chai latte, not forgetting the cozy vibes at Common Man Coffee Roasters Joo Chiat!
